Hi everyone! I know there re so many great users in XDA, so i decide to ask here
There re tons of roms for the nexus 4 and i hv tried many too. All of them re good
but it is reli hard to make a decision of choosing a rom to flash. I m currently using slim bean, and it is reli smooth and fast, with suitable amount of customization, but i dun reli like the pie on this rom.
if i want a rom that has good performance(smooth and fast, not high benchmark) and customization, which rom u guys will suggest to me?
carbon, e.l.e? or others?
please help and discuss together
i wanna apologize for my poor english, i m a user from hong kong

This is probably a question you shouldn't ask, but instead, you should explore yourself. Remember that you're asking for opinions, which are all subjective, and different people will give you vastly varying opinions, such as the poster above me.
In my opinion, you should try out different ROMs, and pick what suits you, not what others tell you to use.
Good luck!

You can give suggestions, you'd only be helping the guy out. Calm down and stop power tripping.
I myself use Paranoid Android and find it great, the customization is awesome!

Hello xda-Community!
First of all - yes, I used the search function but I didn't find any matching result to my question.
So, back to topic.
I am searching for a fast, battery saving and stable rom for the Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300.
It can have the most standard apps removed because I don't use them.
Currently I am using the Android Revolution HD but I am not really fine with it.
So which one would you recommend?
I am grateful for any answer!
Regards, furiify
(P.S.: Sorry for my bad english, I am german ^^)

Its a matter of choice ... I am using CyanogenMod 10 and I am really happy with its battery life and performance... Very smooth
If you like Touchwiz interface than Omega Rom is great too
If you havent tried AOSP yet, then LiquidSmooth is a good starter.
Best rom thread is best.
Please I need a rom that's the fastest, has the best battery the best signal nicest ui and smalest size.
If you want stability and good battery, stay on stock ICS, JB will always use more battery.
JB is smoother and has better screen responsiveness (among other things), it has worse game performance.
If you go to JB, I DON'T recommend CM10, it doesn't play very well with the SGS3 yet, and its battery is even worse than stock JB. Many people use OMEGA, it's fast, but it's a battery sucker. Also, Siyah Kernel is very good, but many users are reporting battery problems, it could be configured to be more battery friendly, but it's too much of a hassle.
I'd recommend using WanamLite and stay on its kernel or use Perseus kernel if you go the JB route.
BTW, you'll have poor battery the first few days whenever you change ROM/kernel, no matter what you choose, so give it try for a couple of days.
Damnit, not this AGAIN! Why don't we start banning these people?
"Best" threads aren't allowed! It's a matter of PERSONAL PREFERENCE! Try roms out for yourself!
Why isn't it allowed to post best rom like on nexus 7 forum??

Simple reason .
One its against the rules two their is a thread just near this post dont post what rom bet rom.
three roms are subjective .
Four a thousand what rom /best rom posts per week are not what XDA is about .
If you have to ask that sort of question then you are nothing more than someone that wants it all handed to them on a plate and is to lazy to bother reading the FAQS and Guides . Not really the sort of user XDA needs .

Yes, look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1911 and here http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1912. No one can tell what is good for you, you have to try them out yourself. For now i would stay with stock for a while and flash some custom kernels. And after some time start experimenting with custom roms.
I really want to hear from everyone also. I need a STABLE ROM and some advice from our community here would help. Every post like this is looked down on for some explicit reason.... I want to hear everyone's opinions on all the ROMs and kernel combos.

because there is no right answer. every device will react differently, and every person has differing needs. the reason why these kinds of threads arent allowed is because they start fights. everyone is going to say that the rom and kernel that they use is the best. so, in order for you to get the right answers, you need to try them out, to find what reacts best with your device and to find what fills your needs the best.

What they said. ^^^^^^^^^
You need to find a rom you like best and read through a lot of the Development thread.
Also if there is a General discussion thread, you can ask question about the rom there.

Try miui v5: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2327158
all these roms/kernels will vary depending on your personal device and your personal needs. as all our devices reactions will differ, and so will all our personal needs, its best to try out asany as you can, only then will you find your best rom/kernel combo for your device. one thing for sure though, there arent any bad roms or kernels here

Sorry but this is so stupid thread.
U should try at least few 4.3 roms and play with them see which one is more suitable for u.

Might be a fair question but comparison threads are frowned upon and get shut down.
Developers all work hard and we wouldn't want a thread that takes a crap on anyone's hard work right?

Hi Guys,
By asking the question I in no way mean to be disrespectful toward the developers. On the contrary am in awe and in great admiration of them. And when possible have even contributed to "buying them a few beers" .
I merely ask the question coz I would want to install a stable and good performing ROM in the my phone. I could ofcourse download each one and test them out but isn't it the very point of having a forum such as this to help fellow ROM users choose the best and get the best out of their phone.
As regards comparisons I think the developers should not be too sensitive as comparisons are a review of their work and if they have put out ROMs in a public forum for the use of the public then feedback and review should be welcomed. Nothing wrong in pointing out if a certain ROM functions better than another in certain aspects. I have seen many posts that say that a certain kernel provides better performance or battery life compared to another and I dont ever see any criticisms of such comparisons but when it comes to asking or giving the same kind of comments bout a ROM we see people get really touchy on the subject. I dont think saying a particular ROM functions better than another is in anyway being disrespectful or be-belittling the work done by them.
There are 3 roms out there of 4.3 leak MI6,MJ2,MJ5..
I tried 2 of them MI6 and MJ2
MI6 has 2 main bugs i.e keyboard swype doesn't work and google acc dissappearing bug after every boot but MI6 has best battery I had after 4.1.1 roms.
MJ2 is newer and has some bug fixes mentioned above but its battery life for me is less than MI6.
so my vote goes to MI6 though now I am on dr.ketan v3 rom which is mix of all these 3 roms and thinking to switch to MJ5 to test it...
and one more thing MJ2 and MJ5 have knox bootloader so better first read every instruction before doing anything...
This MJ5 is stable and free of Knox
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2494460
I've played about with a couple of roms now and must say I'm very very impressed with the dirty unicorns unofficial 4.3.1 for the note 2 LTE, very fast, stable, and great battery life.

Then it's best if you could list aspects and functions you consider important. Am on Dr. Ketan 4.3V3.
For me call recording is a must and now ability to export sms from the stock messaging app is a plus. I have gotten close to 4.5 hours screen time coupled with crazy browsing and FB. I find magazine app quite annoying.

Well you're wrong.
These types of threads, ie "what is best" or "What is most stable" threads are not allowed because they are just opinions and best/stable are subjective.
If you want to answer these questions you need to try some roms and do it yourself.

Hello everyone, I'm new in here and I'm using Nexus 4..
I'm planning to flash custom ROM and kernel, i want better performance and most important thing is better battery life..
I don't really care about features and costumize anything, it's all about performance..
So which ROM should I go? I saw so mani ROMS here, it's makes me confused..
Besides that, I'm totally noob with flashing and rooting..
Thanks before. Your suggestions will be appreciated..

go for a rom that has just some nice features but also keeps performance..something like rastakat or cm11 or kitkang...whenever i flash those kinda roms always have great battery life and perfomance...crdroid is another good one....but please next time post in the right forum section..
this has nothing to do with themes and apps..
all the best
Thanks!

No one can tell you what ROM to try, look in the development threads and try any that appeal to you. If you don't like them try another one, but each device reacts differently and each user likes different things - no one can tell you what to try. Also, best ROM threads aren't allowed, its disrespectful to the devs

I recommend carbon with JWR faux kernal. And nexuslouder mod. Best I ever had.

Just try some different ones and stick with the one you like best. For the most part, performance will be about equal between them. It is gonna boil down to taste.

1. New here or not you should already know to read and post this in Q&A section.
2. We can tell you our recomendations what to use but final decision is up to you. So try more roms and see which one suits you best and use that one.
3. Navigate to general section. There are good thread that explain everything (rooting/flashing/restoring...)
EDIT: To all others who commented in here saying wrong section... It wont help making a post about it. Report the thead for moving and case closed.
We don't allow these type of threads here for a very simple reason.
All you are going to achieve is a thread full of people's opinions equivalent to the amount of available ROMs... so what's the point?
My suggestion? Look through the Development thread and perhaps even look for ROM threads rated 5 stars (not always accurate but it's a start)
Then go through the features / bug list etc., choose 3 or 4 ROMs and try each one for a few days and make your own decision.
Thread moved and closed.
