Is anyone else having a slight misalignment on the touch screen?
For me touch is shifted about a millimeter or two to the right.
I've checked on both my N4 and my sister's N4 and both of us seem to be having this slight misalignment.
Both of us have REV 11 N4's. One was obtained through T-Mobile in January, the other was obtained through Google Play just last month.
I've checked on a few roms. I've tried CM, PA, and Stock with a multitude of different kernels (Franco, Faux, Trinity, CM, and stock).
To check:
1. Enable "Show touches" under the Developer menu.
2. Touch a part of the screen where you'll be able to see the touch bubble and hold it there.
3. Look at the screen at angle to see under your finger.
It's not a big deal, just something I've noticed when I had difficulty trying to use PIE on the left side of the screen. Although, I still would love to be able to get the screen recalibrated to have more accurate touch sensitivity to eliminate the difficulty that I have with CM's PIE.
Another question: Is anyone aware of any LG diagnostic tool to calibrate the screen? I remember back on the HTC sensation there was a file that you could load through HBOOT and get your screen calibrated from there.
Photo attached.
Oh wow I never noticed this , I have the same thing, never really had problems with it
Btw I have an older model , so its not just a Rev11 thing

Nope...
I thought I was just trippin when I noticed the same thing last week
Just tested and confirmed, pretty significant misalignment by about 1 cm, which is a LOT when you're talking about a <5" touch screen..
My next thought is, is this a software issue?
We need more people to test and confirm. But I believe that is what we will find. Software issue.
Anyone with a Nexus 7 on stock 4.2.2, please also test and report.
Wow never thought anyone else was experiencing this, mine seems to be off since I always have to touch a little higher than what I'm going for even nav bar.

I would think that it's a software issue. My HTC sensation was able to have it's screen recalibrated. I think LG would have some kind of tool to be able to do it.
Same exact issue here but I wouldn't even notice if I didn't try

Does anyone else have this problem with their nexus 7? I just got my nexus 7 today but I noticed that the backlight seems to flicker randomly
It doesn't look like much in the video but it is very noticeable and gets annoying when you're reading an ebook like i was.. Here's a video showing the problem.(It's near the end)
VIDEO LINK: h**p://db.tt/28eD0NLk (It happens around 9 second in) (change ** into tt)
For whatever reason this forum would not post a video link to show the problem.. for those who wants to know what it looks like please PM me..
But basically the screen flickers randomly ..
Is this a software problem? Should I go back and get it exchanged?

I've had a similar problem as well. It seemed to happen to me on auto-brightness when it was changing the brightness level. I can't say for sure though, just my observation.

I havn't tried it yet..do we know if it's a hardware problem or software?
I just got it today so I can still return it if it turns out to be hardware
We really dunno at this point, but we are speculating software since both HTC One X and TF300 had similar problems and were fixed with firmware updates. Also someone switched it three times and all of them had this issue. Also try to run the screen in a pitch black room and tell me if the screen flicker is there. I may have a theory but need some other people to see if their units are behaving the same way as mine.
You can still post the link when you alter it a bit, insert a few *** into it, for example.
I turned mine on as soon as I got hold of it, no flicker, managed to go through and set up things, powered off and left to charged.
Coming back to it the screen would appear to turn on and off randomly, I thought it could be an app controlling a proximity sensor (I have one on my phone and I was EXTREMELY tired!), when I took it into the light there was no change.
I found that shaking it would help it flicker on and off at all intervals but didn't fix it. In the end I just started pushing random areas on the back, just before the issue went away I pressed around the bottom left quarter of mine and haven't had an issue since!
Glad I wasn't the only one with the problem though and would love to actually find out what it was.
Hope this helps!

Try this video,
h**p://dl.dropbox.com/u/13153603/Videos/VID_20120715_100253.mp4
it is using google map and you can see the constant flickering.. It doesn't look very severe in the video but it is actually very noticeable and annoying
I have the same issue with mine. It only seems noticeable when I have the brightness set to the lowest setting and on a page that is predominately white. I don't think it's the proximity sensor though, because it happens both when I set it manually to the lowest setting and when I'm in the dark and the tablet sets the brightness all the way down itself. Hope the next update fixed this, because it's really annoying!

I first noticed this flicker in a darkened room, so yes, it is definitely something going on. I'll try disabling auto-brightness to see if that matters.

I can attest that the flicker is ever present in a pitch black room as well.
Like this?
There are a few videos on youtube, but i cant post links but if you do a search you can find it
I noticed a flickering in chrome yesterday. But only in chrome and only while the page is rendering after it fully renders no more flickering.
Everyone turn off wifi and I guarantee it will go away. It happens when using wifi which makes it hard to believe that a software update can fix it.
Is anyone else having problems with swiping left and right etc since 4.1.2?
My device recognises the swipe but doesn't complete ie when ctolling through home screens the page won't move to the next page it will stay where it is and you just see the page move a little bit and then go back.
Hope that makes sense.
Please reply if you're having this problem or not

I've noticed this as well since 4.1.2 but it only happens for the first few seconds after switching the screen on. I've had to apply a bit more force in swiping to bring down the Notifications or to go from screen to screen on Home and the app drawer. Gently flicking the screen doesn't work and stuff like Notifications just flips back up, but after 20-30? seconds it works fine again.
I've noticed this aswell, but don't think the new update is the cause as I was experiencing it before.
Just out of curiosity do you use another device such as HOX? Because I have a HOX, and the swiping is much smoother on that, flicking goes from screen to screen rather than a drag which the Nexus required, if you do use another device perhaps its just the change in device like my case ?
Hmmm.
Cant decide whether or not to take it back and try a replacement.
As said above i have to now use a full swipe across the screen with my finger while holding the tablet in the other hand. I cant just use one hand and flick it with my thumb like i used to be able to.
Ive done a factory reset but that hasnt helped at all.
Ill upload a video of the problem soon so you guys can compare it to yours.
OK heres a video of the problem...
Let me know if you guys have the same

I've noticed that my home screen is not as responsive, though I can't tell in your video if it's as severe. I have to make a strong swipe to move to the next page or it will just bounce back to the current page I'm on. So sometimes it takes me a couple times to switch screens since I'm used to it normally changing. Hope that makes sense.
I run CNA 3.8.0 which uses 4.1.2; I haven't noticed that problem previously on 4.1.1
I also have to swipe the notification bar further in order for it to stick. I used to only have to go 1/3 to less than 1/2 of the screen for it to work.

Same issue, would agree that it is worse for the first 20-30 seconds after waking up the screen. Really is quite a pain.
This definitely happens for me, and it definitely started with the 4.1.2 update. It's not a big deal to me, but I can't believe Google didn't catch it.

I've got a new c9O 32GB and mine does the same thing. Its better if I use one hand to hold it from the edges while using the other hand to touch. Using one hand to hold and swipe/scroll/ anything is an effort in futility. And its not just at the Home screen/App menu for me. It also locks up completely from time to time. Do we know what kind of memory the 32GB model uses? Not happy about this at all. Asus really screwed up on this one.

I have this issue as well. My first nexus which was a 16gb didnt have this problem but my current one which is a 32gb does this, especially with the notification bar which is quite annoying. Not sure if its because of 4.1.2 or if its the hardware itself because it updated immediately when i got it so didnt have a chance to use the 32gb before it updated.
has anybody tried the 4.2 update to see if it has fixed this?
Bump . I'm waiting for mine to come in the mail from Asus.

I think the problem is gone in 4.2.
At least I have not seen it yet - swipe across half the screen works again to change page.
I still get it in 4.2 :crying:
So I updated to 4.4 yesterday with adb sideload. Since that I was using my Nexus 7 "heavily" and I always had "buttons stucked" on keyboard, but now it's gone and I havent experienced any other touchscreen bug.
I don't think I have had any buttons sticking since I updated as well. That was my only issue with my Nexus 7 when in was still running 4.3. It would usually have a keystroke stick several times while typing things and I haven't experienced it once while typing this entire post, which is also why it keeps going because I'm trying to keep typing to see if it'll happen, and instead I just keep making spelling mistakes.
It did not fix the touch issues that may be related to grounding. In a case or stand, both Nexus 7 devices I have still fail to see any touch on numerous occasions, even single finger touch events. Manufacturing issue I guess, but we all know how G & Asus deal with those.
Let's hope it lasts... some issues are fixed temporally.
touchscreen is definitely improved for me too.
Yeah but multitouch still fails, playing dead trigger 2 could be an impossible mission.

Never had multitouch issues, only single touch problems like quad touches innstead of one etc. (As u can see it happened again lol)
They poped up after the R update, and im waiting for CM11
I had single touch issues even after sending my tablet in for service. I had called yesterday to send it back again when I noticed the update was available for side loading.
After the update my screen is behaving!
I'm going to hold off on claiming that my issues are completely resolved but it is looking promising.

So i am about 3 weeks into my LG G2 i went custom AOSP from the very start. never even touched stock. I had weird graphical glitches which i chalked up to the AOSP stuff. I also had weird touch screen issues. like double clicks when i was dragging my finger. I also had odd shaking. like if i would drag from one screen to the next and stop in the middle instead of the panes being static they would shake way way worse then i have even seen on a phone. after about 3 weeks it got to much. i went back to stock to see how it felt. i have the same graphics issues. and i think some of the same touch screen issues. Although i didn't stay long enough to really test, but the graphical glitches are there. I can reproduce anytime i want on AOSP or Stock.
Did i get a lemon?
I can post a video if anyone wants to see any of the symptoms.

What are the graphics and touch screen issues? Care to elaborate? I've had 3 g2s in about 2 weeks and have experienced the high pitched buzzing in the ear piece when making a call and the touch screen issues when the phone is used playing video or games after 45 minutes or so the touchscreen becomes erratic and the scrolling goes crazy. There's a couple videos on here showing the touchscreen issues when writing in a quick memo (looks like an EKG). Maybe a little more info on your part will give us a better idea on your problems though.

Sounds like 4.4 issues with the graphical stuff. Its common because we don't have a proper port yet.
I suggest you ALWAYS use your phone stock for a week or else you have no idea if its software or hardware when things go wrong.
I suggest you flash back to stock and waiting it out and see for yourself.

The touch screen issues are present in all G2s, it's whether or not a user "triggers" it that's the question. I've seen it in both AOSP and stock. So your touch screen is "fine." The other issues are not normal though.
Sent from my LG-G2 using Tapatalk
To conclude if anything is normal or no...you need to have your phone completely stock...What player911 said is the right thing to do.
So i swung by verizon and sure enough the demo model showed no signs of what my phone is doing...
btw i did say i went back to stock to test it and both the graphic issues and the touch screen issues have been present. I cant always reproduce the touch issues but the graphic glitches is some sore of faulty unit. I will try to get the to replace it on monday.

This is not true! I have the Verizon variant and I have no issues with the tough screen at all...ever?? In fact, for whatever reason (maybe because Verizon is more closed/careful/anal/controlling) I read of more issues with other carriers than I do with Verizon. So either it's Verizon, or maybe Verizon's version got a better batch of hardware while the others got a bad batch??? :crying:
Return it and get a new one. If you were at the store, I would have already done this. Its under warranty regardless.
Touchscreen is very responsive on mine. Maybe too sensitive. Sometimes I don't even feel my fingers touching the screen.

But the ghost touch bug is still present. I think this is hardware issue but cannot find any service manual to investigate
Good as gold as with all releases since 4.4
nothing changes
I've seen a little bit of improvement, but I also only had problems under some app-specific conditions. Though, I've noticed the N7 is unusually sensitive to hand/finger temperature. If my hands are even remotely cool, I can't get anything to work. Meanwhile, my S4 in a condom Otterbox Defender reads touches just fine even with freezing hands.

4.2.2 almost fixes my DEB model
Hi,
My tablet is one of the unlucky ones which were not fixed by sfhub's patches.
Fortunately, the 4.2.2 OTA makes my tablet smoother. Except for 1 inch strip of non-responsive space (little below the top vertical position), things work fine. I see no ghost touches and multi-touch works fine as long as I dont touch that 1 inch part.
Hmm, it takes 3 OTAs and lot of belief in customers like me to get to this state!
Perfect so far since 4.4. Also, tested ungrounded with one and two fingers with Google Maps and no issues.
I haven't tested 4.4.2, but I WAS using SfHubs ts20 on 4.3.
I flashed the TouchScreen Unlock and then back to 100% stock 4.3 and updated to 4.4 naturally using the OTA procedure. Then updated to 4.4.1.
I tested all along the way and it seems to have helped some. Typing isn't as big as a problem but there are still missed touches and generally sucks trying to play action games. 4.4.1 seemed to help a bit again.
I'm going to try this again with 4.4.2 since I've heard good things. If this doesn't fix it, I'm sending it off to Asus. I've heard they are now replacing the touchscreen driver boards with different ones which basically means it is a hardware problem and they know it.
I haven't tried the "stock" drivers yet, still using TS09 but I will revert back tomorrow.
I got a old Nexus 7 from my mobile operator the other day.. damn, what a dream touch wize.. Why cant Nexus 7 FHD work like this? :/ I can actually TYPE on the old Nexus.
Mine seems to be mostly resolved since 4.4.
