Do we have any online shops that offer the exynos version in Europe?
No mention of it in any of the big online shops. Reports at release stated that it would come delayed compared to the 9505.
I just got three replies from Expansys, Clove, Handtec, and all said they will not have the Exynos version, at least not for now.
You wont get the exynos version in countries where it is not scheduled. Try amazon spain (amazon.es).

Samsung has not yet released any info regarding which countries will get the i9500; we only have a leaked table from Sammobile to go on.
TBH I was a bit pi%%ed at not having the i9500 in the UK, but the other one also kicks ass.
For me its not so bad as I buy new one each year, the fact is I will just get get the phone/find a rom/set everything up just right and then new model will start to show next year lol
I think this is a bigger problem for anyone who keeps the phone for more than a year, to them it will be a worse situation, as it is I dont think the phone will be pushed to its limit before the next version comes out, game companies aim for the average phone and let you tweak little bits if you have a better phone (just like pc games)
I do remember reading something that Samsung have big things due 2014, all hush hush, some guy had been in meetings/or something (I forget) and basically said 2014 is the year Samsung will make big changes, and we will be shocked....but thats all he said.
Expansys US have I9500. I sent a message (via chat) and they said that they are selling the Latin American exynos version.

Well, Korean version seems to have some limitations.
Expansys US says that their exynos is unlocked. I don't know more, im waiting a reply from my friend that pre-ordered it on Expansys US 4 days ago. He will receive it in first week of may. If it is for real the exynos one, i will buy it from that site because in Europe samsung still doesn't want to release the exynos version.

I really hope you're right, but I asked too and everybody said the US warranty is not compatible with the EU warranty.
I checked on Expansys website but can't find the OCTA version. Can you give me a link please ?

No, they said to me that I9500 doesn't have LTE, they just wrote a mistake. Infact at the end they wrote also depending on market.

(07:07:47) Alberto: Someone says that LTE for Exynos is only reserved to korea, is this true? Or the latin american version is like the korean one?

(07:09:14) [email protected]: It's not Korean
(07:10:27) Alberto: Ok thank you very much.

That's what I'm worried about too. Also, right now almost no seller knows what they will got and when the Octa version will be available. I remember myself searching on Internet and getting results even on this forum on warranty issues in USA with Galaxy S3 bought in Europe. If we get it from USA I don't think we would've warranty in Europe but Usa only. I'm gonna call Monday to Samsung. I'm refuse to buy S4 other than Exynos version

I would really love getting the dual SIM version of the Samsung Galaxy S 4 as it would allow me to carry one less phone with me. But in the end I'm not sure if the pros outweight the cons.
Pros:
- Able to use two SIMs in the same phone
- Exynos 5 Octa, which will see very limited availability in Europe
Cons:
- China Unicom specific version
- No international warranty outside of China
- UI may not be available in English?
- Will be stuck with the stock Chinese firmware as the ROMs for i9500 / i9505 will not work on this
Is anyone else considering buying an i9502 to be used outside of China?

I would like to have i9502 and I have the same questions and worrying about the warranty outside of China. I'm gonna wait till it is available on eBay. I hope that some companies could give at least 12 months international warranty for this device.
I am thinking of buying one for use world wide. I assume no one will be developing a custom ROM for this version.
Is there a way to install the Play Store and Gapps?
As the S4 should be highly popular, we might see more developing for the exynos chipset. Once they come out with the aosp base for it, developing for the variants should be easier.
Since i9502 is China based, we should see a MIUI Rom for it soon

I thought samsung released their official rom for this phone? Doesn't it therefore mean that we can root this without any bugs? I remember the Note 2 dual sim custom rom had bugs on the map and caller id.
Can someone verify that once using the official rom, play store and Google apps will be available?

The only way to install Play Store and Google apps is to root the phone. Unfortunately, there's no available rooting method yet for Galaxy I9502. But I'm hopeful that it will be available in the future. Like the Galaxy Note 2 GT-N7102 Dual Sim variant, a working rooting procedure was eventually made available.

Based on offical specs, I'm very sure an unlocked SGS4 I9502 will work in my country and Europe too.
Here's why:
SGS4 I9502 Supported Network Frequency:
WCDMA 850/900/1,900/2100MHz
GSM 850/900/1,800/1900MHz
GSM Coverage:
GSM 900 / GSM 1800 MHz are used in most parts of the world: Europe, Asia, Australia, Middle East, Africa.

I bought mine in China and used it with China Mobile and my US T-Mobile SIM cards installed at the same time. When I landed back on US soil, it automatically switched to use my T-Mobile SIM. I haven't had any problems so far.
Does that mean you have Google apps and play store?

Which variant of the Galaxy S4 is better?
I have a friend in South Korea who will be able to buy and ship the SHV-E300K Galaxy S4, but it will cost me about $100 in fees to ship it from South Korea to Canada.
According to what I heard, the South Korean model will have a 1.8GHz Cortex-A15 and LTE instead of the 1.6GHz Cortex-A15 and no LTE in the international version.

The Octa-core with LTE is the total package.
Do not consider this an expert opinion, but I'd imagine Samsung releasing the 1.8GHz version with the best quality A15 chips that can take the heat better, @AndreiLux however knows more about this. In any case, if I had the opportunity I'd go for the Korean version, but not before your friend checks if everything is all right and the phone is functioning well.
There will be little (almost to none) support for SHV-E300 models by developers. Although it looks similar to I9500, it will be very different in terms of custom kernels and custom ROMs.
By the way, according to kernel source codes, audio chips are also different. I9500 uses Wolfson audio, while E300(and I9505) uses Yamaha.

jalte isn't the i9505 anymore (Currently?). But yes the Octa LTE devices have Yamaha audio as it seems.
Kernel development is mostly a language barrier problem, I'm supporting the widly different N7108 even though I was nowhere near that device, only because one willing individual worked together with me to test it.
Only downfall about the Korean, is it will have that stupid looking DMB antenna that can slide in and out, I am sure of it as all korean phones have this and it was on the korean s3... This made the phone a fraction thicker then the international S3
But then samsung later released the exact same version internationally I9305 without the DMB antenna which is what I got. I really hope they dont do this again.

Found I9505 (jf) sources on github. Audio chip is from Qualcomm. Probably standard one WCD9310.
As for support: Korean version needs framework (and sadly, libraries) rework to make phone useful outside of Korea. As far as i know, Korea uses VoLTE for voice call, so there is a chance that in countries with LTE CSFB, LTE in SHV-E300 will be useless even if phone will be able to connect. More SHV-E300 far from international version by hardware - harder to make it international. Nothing to do with Kernel, actually.
But since it uses different audio chip than wolfson, audio improvements won't apply for this model. May be tweaks from I9100 will be useful, but that's different story.
P.S.: need to wait exactly SHV-E300 sources. It's possible that Samsung changed something in the last moment.

Using Korean SGSIII SHV-E210K (because of 2GB of RAM), i have a big problem with case accessories because phone is thicker than I9300 (cannot use any hard case) and back cover is completely incompatible with cover from I9300. If i would knew that I9305 will appear later, then i would never buy SHV-E210K.
For me, i don't see any advantage in SHV-E300 at all, but only problems.
And if custom Rom are not available you'll be stucked with a 80chars SMS problem

There is no GSM 850mhz so you wont have a LOADS of coverage one you travel
and best to now if tits has the LTE band for your Carrier ..
later on we will see an exynos based LTE version right?
just like the GS3 and Gnote2?
I think if i have to choose i will choose the e300k, if there is have difference hardware,
It is right that korean version have few custom rom and kernel.
But, as my experience cooking rom for korean version there is just some different in framework or anything else.
So its possible porting any mod for international s4 to korean version.
So if the hardware e300k better than international version, i will choose the first one.
Hello, I live in Argentina and am a Movistar user. I am travelling to Madrid (Spain) and London this January and was hoping to buy the Galaxy Note 3 there and, naturally, I have some questions.
The version of the phone that arrives my country is the SM-N9000 but I want the SM-N9005 because of the Snapdragon and some additional features this version has. Is there a region unlocked version to purchase? Do I have to region-unlock the mobile phone myself? In that case, how do I do that?
And finally, do you have any reliable stores or retailers in those cities that you would recommend me? Maybe a Samsung store would be the best option, wouldn't it?

I hate to tell you this but the best option is a Note 3 from Movistar Argentina - LTE bands in Argentina are different than those in EU (and so far I believe incompatible, there is a bounty to add the 1700 band to the international N9005 but no success so far).
2nd best might be a Note 3 from Movistar Spain - but those I would expect to be standard N9005 and you should get a guarantee in writing from them that it will also work in Argentina on LTE to be reasonably safe about it.
IMHO 3rd best is just the least expensive genuine EU N9005 you can get - surprisingly a version that is carrier-locked on a serious carrier COULD be a better option (since the unlock code is like 25EUR most and after that you will ALSO be region-unlocked even if you never root).

Apparently I have snapdragon yes. Why is the exonos preferred over snapdragon?

I'll take your word for it, I know there was a discussion somewhere about people wanting to root their s8, and one of the comments was buy a s8 from Canada.

I can confirm that in Canada we got the SD SM-G950W
I even called the Samsung store here in Edmonton to confirm and went to look at phones in my local BB

Snapdragon has bootloader locked with no way of unlocking it, aka no rooting any time soon.
Exynos can be unlockiled making flashing via custom recoveries available
