Whats the deal with the sim lock? or lack of unlock!

I've noticed most HTC phones have sim unlock programs why doesnt the wing?

I called T mobile tech support and told them I'm traveling to Europe for a few weeks and I wanted to use a foreign Sim card. They are emailing me my unlock code!!!!

tmobile wing does have an unlock code i recently got it myself to unlock my phone, you just have to call them and you can only get 1 unlock code per every 6 months

Blocked subsidy, what is that ?

Hi, I bought a Milestone 2 in Argentina with Personal mobil provider.
I've traveled to Spain and tried to put another sim, when I did this, I had to enter a code to unlock sim, I entered but this message appears:
"The phone has locked subsidy, please contact with your operator."
This is a transalation, not the exact message because it is in spanish.
Anyone knows what is this ?

That means that your phone is network locked. You will need to contact the operator you got it from initially to get the subsidy code that will allow you to use it on another network, with a different sim. Sometimes they make you pay for it, sometimes it is free.

I don't know in Argentina, but here in Brazil you can access the carrier's web site (who you bought your device from), give your phone's IMEI and get the subsidy unlock code for free.
Then, all you have to do is insert that code in your phone and you're done

problem with nokia lumia 610

hi,i was bought a mobile phone (nokia lumia 610) from tesco (from e-bay) ago a month, but the mobile not work in Greece , it is locked at network and i can not use it,
i read in tesco site ...

i pay the cost, in this site dont have kai UK-tesco , also UK-O2, Orange, T-mobile, vodafone, BT, EE, Huchison....what i should choose??the mobile is tesco mobile phone ..thanks again

Try UK-O2, tesco share the network with O2...

i try O2 and the message is "We have received your request but for the moment we are unable to unlock your device! We will get back to you soon with details and alternative solutions! ' ...so i wait the answers for this site..thanks..

Note 4 unlocking

Hi all I have a note 4 n910f which is locked to Vodafone but I am wanting it to be unlocked so I can use my giffgaff sim in it. Is there any software what I can use to unlock it or is there another way people can help me with

Just call your cell provider and they will give you the network unlock code for your device. They will also walk you thought on how to unlock it too.

Vodafone UK are saying I have to wait 30 days

Network unlock when out the country

I have recently moved from the UK to the US, taking with me my S8. I requested a SIM unlock code from Vodafone UK before leaving but when I went to use the code when I got a US sim, it didn't unlock. I contacted Vodafone and they explained that the code does not work out of the country as it needs to connect to the Vodafone network to be verified.
Is there a way of SIM unlocking my phone here in the US? (Short of sending it to a friend in the UK and living without a phone for ~2 weeks)
