Has anyone encountered this before.
It happens or is most visible on dark areas of the screen and gives off a twinkling effect when scrolling. I have tried different Roms, Kernels and resorting to stock but nothing seems to work. Any help would be appreciated.

wow. thats strange. if it was a physical defect (as in the LCD is damaged) then it wouldnt translate over to the screenshot. so it must be software related...but youve changed roms....this hurts my head a little bit. can you RMA it?
oh wow, that reminds me of what would happen when i overclocked my video card too high on my old computer. i would definitely say thats a hardware malfunction... a legitimate RMA

As per image. The last thing I did was flash an "update.zip" that contained the ringtones from the Nexus S, but I have no idea why it would cause this to happen.
Running CyanogenMod 6.1 on a US T-Mobile G2.
Any ideas, anyone?
*facepalm*
It fixed itself upon a reboot. Never mind. I'm an idiot.
you missed a call lol
That happens to me with a bone-stock (but usually temp-rooted) OS when I rotate the phone as it's ringing. The slider still works as it should, but sliding the broken graphic over.
Same here, randomly... rebooting fixes it
wonder whats causing it
I think a bug with the auto-rotate causes it.
I bought this defy+ about 1 year ago, it suddenly have this problem a week before...
Its screen doesn't work quite well when it is charging,or plug into anything through USB

Yeah, i had the same issue with mine, usually just locking & unlocking helps it a little. i have no idea whats causing it, i did send mine in for repair due to this issue, but they said nothing was wrong with the digitizer at all.
According to the company it was some kind of lag.
I recommend just letting it charge before you use it.
I hope this helped you in some way =)
So some things happened and my Nexus 7's touch screen got junked.
I've sent the device to ASUS support hoping they would fix it at reasonable price...
I was wrong. They want to charge me almost 75% of the damn price for an LCD change.

This is 210 USD. Any leads on cheaper ways to fix the damn display?
Get a faulty unit from somewhere like Ebay/Craiglist, but make sure the fault aint the screen.
Then take the screen off the faulty one, and replace it onto yours?
Hello,
I got a problem since yarvik was gone bankrupt, my screen is gray. I think in the inside something is loose since I can hear something when I shake it. Now I want to know if this is solvable. There are sounds hearable when turning on. The screen is always gray no other display. So can I crack my yarvik ingenia horizon smp50-201 open? There are screws in it. I tried to open it nothing worked. BTW the screen is cracked too.

I have been using this device for more than 5 yrs. Recently screen rotation was not working so I tried to repair it by myself after watching some videos and forums. It was an easy process but due to my curiosity I dug into the hardware some more. During the process I mistakenly broke a piece from ZIF connector which was connected to the display. I don't know whether this could do anything to the touch. Now the touch becomes unresponsive. I am also thinking that the digitiser could be faulty but not ready to invest in a new one without knowing the real reason. Why this connector is for. Could this be the culprit? If so do I need to change the daughterboard? You can see the picture
