Here i am explaining samsung code to newbies, who find difficult to understand coding of different ROMs
let's i explain you with one example
India have latest update MC3
so what you are seeing on sammobile is
N7100XXDMC3 N7100ODDDMD1 - India (sammobile mentions AP and CSC on main page so AP(PDA) is N7100XXDMC3 and CSC is N7100ODDDMD1)
Now when you extract zip
you will get like this
N7100XXDMC3_N7100ODDDMD1_N7100DDDLK6_HOME.tar.md5 (that have modem (CP) information too) here AP N7100XXDMC3, CSC N7100ODDDMD1 and CP N7100DDDLK6
That is in form of
device number[AP (PDA) - CSC - CP (modem)].tar.md5
so after installing this ROM if you dial *#1234# , you will get this
AP : N7100XXDMC3
CP : N7100DDDLK6
CSC : N7100DDDMD1
So what does it suggest?
Here decoding of CSC
it suggest which country ROM you are having 'DDMD1' means DD=India, M = 2013, D = April, 1 = first release
So DDMD1 CSC suggest your CSC is first released for india on April 2013
same way if we decoding with modem (CP)
your modem is DDLK6, that means
DD = India, L = 2012, K = November, 6 = 6th release
So your indian modem is built in Nov 2012 (6th release in 2012)
So if you look to any ROM released after Nov 2012,
like LL7 ,MA6, MB2 ,MC3
All have same DDLK6 modem, means there is no update in modem since Nov 2012 (LK6)
Now come to PDA (AP)
XDMC3
usually PDA remains same for almost country and usually have to count last 3 digits.
MC3 means M=2013, C=March, 3 = 3rd release
SO MC3 update is 3rd update of March 2013 (though it released in April, still it is built by samsung in march, you can confirm it by setting - about device - kernel it showing 27th March). so built in march but aired in April. samsung code it according when it was built.
For 'year' coding samsing uses K=2011, L=2012, M=2013 so on
For 'Month' coding A=Jan, B=Feb, C=March and so on
K=2011
Hope this should be clear.
Good explanation
Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk 2
Finally I understand that this means something and not that they just press randomly on the keyboard XD
Thanks!
well said, many thanks

Search, find & share: I don't know! (I don't root my devices!)
,,
I bought the phone which was brand new, couple of years ago. I wanted to update it to the latest OS but was unable to do so as it says it was modified.
After extensive research online, i came to know i have to flash the stock rom using Odin. But i am unable to find the stock firmware that matches the codes.
These are the results from *#1234#
AP : N9005XXUBMI7
CP : N9005XXUBMI6
CSC : N9005OJVBMI2
I am unable to trace the stock ROM firmware. Appreciate if anyone could give the link and the instructions if possible.
EDIT: Okay i managed to download the stock ROM of 4.3 from a website and successfully flashed it. But being in 4.3 it says the phone is up to date and has no updates available when i check for new updates

I downloaded the 4.3 OS and installed that matched my version. How do i go for 5.0 as it is not showing in my phone? Do i need to match the version codes as in that website the 5.0 version is not matching my phone version
Use the newest XXU* Version fitting to your home country best. In my case you would need Germany (DBT) because it was a unbranded german phone. Thus I need PDA: N9005XXUGBOK6 and CSC: N9005DBTGBOI1. Because I am NOT using stock at all anymore, I always use the newest BL and MODEM, but in your case just use the most recent Firmware which fits your origin and provider.

Seems like Sri Lanka has a N9005ODD* CSC in recent FWs, but you have a N9005OJV* one used in South Africa and Morocco currently.
So I would try these:
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/62194/N9005XXUGBOK9_N9005OJVGBOI1_XFM (South Africa)
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/61958/N9005XXUGBOK9_N9005OJVGBOI1_MWD (Morocco)
No guarantee though, but in theory it's not interesting at all which FW you use. At least I already used DBT ones and Nordic Country NEE ones and had no problems in the past.
So you could try http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/62526/N9005XXUGBOK6_N9005ODDGBOJ1_SLK (Sri Lanka) too. But as I said, FW update always is a risk and if you don't know how to fix stuff, it can be a nice activity for a whole weekend to fix stuff again.
If you want to be more sure and secure... load https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vndnguyen.phoneinfo and send the stuff shown in "General", "CSC-Code", "Firmware" and "Android" in here. Most interesting is the "Active CSC Code"

Isn't the different PDA version a problem?
Nope. PDA version changes from time to time. Check the firmwares for CSC XSI and you will see that they are Android version dependent. Same can be seen for any country.

True they are bad with software updates, but an official AODService by Samsung app was uploaded on Samfirmware website, and it said compatible with S7 & S6 specifically, leading us to believe that AOD is in the works for the S6, considering the new Galaxy A8 has the same chipset as our S6 but also has AOD.

yes i know that but if we think logical it has never been done yet that samsung is releasing new featers of one newer model to the previous model or am i wrong? and i still cant understand samsung they can give the a8 (midrange) the features of the s7 but not the flagship s6
i'm really fed up with samsung

Thank for upload, flash of firmware doesn't work for me. Anyone has same problem ?
Which odin version should I use?
Does anyone have a mega link for the BTU version of this?
Thanks in advance
The Russian build of G920FXXU4DPJN fails after applying hidden.img. Using an older version now instead as Russian seems to be the only one with 2016-11-01 security updates.

The Russian build of G920FXXU4DPJN fails after applying hidden.img. Using an older version now instead as Russian seems to be the only one with 2016-11-01 security updates.

You mean firmware flashing via Odin will fail about half way?won't that hard brick the device?

Yes, flashing the Russian build via Odin fails at ~90%, on hidden.img. I was afraid it would brick the device, but it didn't. I used flashed another build over the existing one, it worked just fine.

Which Odin version did you use? I also tried flashing but could not get it to start. The file could not be added in AP on Odin. Was stuck at OSM>please wait..

I'm using 3.12.3. Worked fine with the French build but not the Russian.

Extract hidden.img and rename it to hidden.img.tar, then flash with AP option in Odin.
