[Q] [L7] No cellular connectivity - Optimus L3, L5, L7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there a trick to getting cellular connectivity to work with CM 10 on the L7 (P700)?
I've tried both the April 7th and April 14th Nightlies. Neither will give me a PIN prompt for the SIM card after booting. Trying to connect to a network manually results in "error while searching for networks". I tried to "fix permissions" in CWM as suggested for other devices, but that did not change anything.

Are you sure your SIM-card is still alright, please test it in another phone? Sounds like a problem with your SIM-card/provider.
If it works in the other phone, try another SIM-card in your LG, maybe your SIM-card slot broke.

It's definitely not the card or the phone. The card works fine in other phones, and it also works perfectly in the L7 if I restore my previous V20a.

In case anyone else comes here looking for a solution, I flashed the v10 baseband linked in this post after installing CM and cellular connectivity works perfectly.

[Q] Phone cannot connect to Mobile Network (CM 10.2)

Hello, I had successfully flashed my LG G2 (D802) from stock to CM 10.2. The sim card was recognised and joined immediately to EE (UK - Mobile Network *T-Mobile/Orange*). During Christmas I tried flashing a new nightly from Cyanogen Mod (11), however I had an outdated clockworkmod version (even though I couldn't update it further). I couldn't launch back to CM 10.2, as the data was wiped when trying to flash CM 11 (Nightly).
Due to not having a back up file, I reverted to factory settings first, then wipe 'all' data off my phone using ALL the options avaliable on CWM. I then had to use 'adb' to push CM 10.2 back into to the phone. It successfully flashed and it was running stably. During the set up pages, CM gave me a pop up to look at sim card instructions to 'get it working', i thought this was a minor problem and couldn't to set it up. When this was finished, gave me everything (WI-FI, bluetooth etc.), however I didn't connect to my Mobile Network 'EE'.
I set 'Data Enabled', Network Mode: WCDMA Preferred.
I tried automatically/manually connecting via the CM settings, but response was 'Could not connect to this network. Please try again later.'
So no luck so far in connecting the phone function back up.
I would be truly thankful if everyone could help with a solution. ^_^
Many Thanks!
I've found out that the phone is locked to a HK network, but I am currently studying in the UK. The problem is that I can't unlock the phone in the UK with using the HK network; I have a HK sim card as well as UK, but since the phone is locked I can't use a UK sim card and the HK sim card doesn't seems to register UK Networks.
Anyone got suggestions to bypass this?

[Q] Problem with network after flashin SlimKat and Cyanogenmod

Hello.
I have a problem with my LG Optimus L5 E610.
First I flashed SlimKat ROM (I had stock 4.1 before that so I had v20 baseband). At that point I had network but not WiFi.
I din't like that so I flashed CyanogenMod 10 (without previously flashing v10 baseband required for it) and I had WiFi but not network.
I tried flashing v10 baseband but the network problem persisted.
My IMEI is still in my phone, i get it when I click *#06# so that's not the problem.
Then I tried flashing v20 baseband and install SlimKat again - same problem (no WiFi and no service - WiFi never seemed to work on SlimKat but last time I installed it it had service)
Then I flashed v20 again and installed CyanogenMod 11 on the phone. As of now everything is working except the network.
Apps are running normally, WiFi is working, Bluetooth is working.
I tried: Toggling Airplane mode, rebooting, toggling GPS, Bluetooth, toggling 2G data only.
I simply do not know how to fix this and after a few days of googling without answer I came here to see if anyone can help me.
The main problem is that says I don't have a SIM card in but I do (tested SIM card on other phones - it works)
I would be very grateful. Thank you in advance!

Nokia 6(TA-1000) cellular network not work after Android Oreo

I just upgrade my Nokia 6(TA-1000) to official Android 8.0.0 (Oreo).
Then my Cellular network won't work anymore.
I live in Hong Kong, using sim card service "CMHK".
I think it is LTE/WCDMA mode.
Tried "*#*#4636#*#*" and changing the settings.
But the connection always shown IPv4: Failed(2)
The phone notification show it is connected and running 3G network.
But the upload/download speed is always 0KB/s.
Reset to factory setting already.
Before upgrade Android everything work fine.
Anyone have the same problems?
Now, what can i do....?
It seems I can't even downgrade my Android.
Only, have to wait for next update and hope it will fixed?
I think i am screwed.

It still Android 8.0.0 and problem still exists.

I use official update.
All firmware should be correct?
BTW, I get a new sim card from ISP but cellular network still not working.
Also, tried both sim card slot 1 and slot 2 nothing work.
May be new system not compatible with my SIM card service only which is "CMHK" aka "中國移動香港".
Hope next update will fix that...

NOKIA 6
hi,
i updated my nokia 6 TA-1000 to oreo update.
i faced many issues like lte not working.
in battery saver mode launcher is stopping suddenly.
it is not detecting the sim correctly.
i didnt get network signals correctly.
Then i tried to hard reset my mobile ,after complete reset and after rebooting it stopped at language selection,i clicked lets go many times but it is not working .it got stucked there.
is there anyway to get rid of it.i asked for nokia chat support but they are asking me to take mobile to nearest service center.
if there is any solution please guide me with it .thank you in advance.
I just turn off the cellular network yesterday.
After I wake up from bed, my phone Google service can not connect from wifi(can't use email, Google store).
BUT! After reinsert my sim card and turn back on cellular network, everything working now.
Both 4G cellular and Google service all good.
May be some part of the network is cached.
So, if you encounter this problem just turn off cellular network and wait.

It seems that, the old slot 1 cached your sim card.
So, you change to slot 2 work, but you can't use SD card.
And I found that if you wait a long time the cache will clear.
You can try to insert sim card back to slot 1 after 1-2 days.

The only option was left to flash stock firmware, but as it updated to oreo, its bootloader has also been updated so I will suggest you to wait for official oreo firmware to release, please don't try to downgrade your device for now, it can brick your device very badly, keep patience, if any solution will come out, we will definitely tell you

Yes, I got it fixed...
1) Just turn off your cellular network.
2) Wait for 1-2 days.
3) Turn on your cellular network again, it should work.
How can I off cellular network. Will keeping it in flight mode helps?

Thank you for raising this question. My phone got the same problem. I am just wondering if I should send it to maintenance center but I guess they will just do reset.
And by saying "turn off cellular network and wait for 1-2 days", do you mean by just turning off the data usage, or turning it to flight mode/ turning the phone.

SIM Card Not Detected

Hi, I've had some issues with SIM cards in my Mi A1.
I've tried rebooting and I've tried both SIM slots, but neither of them are detected. "No SIM card - No Service" shows at the top of the screen. There's nothing wrong with the SIM itself, it works fine in my old phone (a Redmi Note 3) so I'm not sure what to do now. Everything worked fine yesterday and I haven't dropped it, splashed it with water or anything since then.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks
hello brother please imei number check
hey
I'm having the same issue. How do you fixed it?
Thanks
I had this issue too, try restarting the device 2 or 3 times. If it doesn't work, try doing a factory reset.
was anyone able to fix their SIM issue?
my Mi A1 received an OTA update last month and the "SIM card not detected" msg
when I check my Network Settings, the menu options are all greyed out and i can't do anything with it
i've tried flashing many different versions of stock/custom ROMs
i've tried a variety of different SIM providers (Rogers, Koodo, Fido, etc)
i've even flashed a few modem versions to see if it would fix the signal (cuz that's how i used to fix my SGS2)
but nothing works... it's behaving as if there isn't a SIM card inserted at all
...which is leading me to believe that this could be a hardware failure
anyone with suggestions on how i can fix this? cuz otherwise, it's a great device... it runs AOSPExtended like a champ
thanks in advance

No SIM card - No service after Android 8.1 - Oreo Update

Hello everyone,
I am new to the forum and I would like to reach out to you guys to see if anybody can help me with an issue I am having with my Essential PH-1 phone after updating it to the latest version of Android. Basically the issue is that the system won't recognize my SIM card after the update, it just says "No SIM card - No service".
I've tried so many things already but haven't had any success, here is a list:
-> Rebooted several times.
-> Cleared cache.
-> Reset network settings.
-> Did a factory reset.
-> Rolled back to Android 7.1 (SIM card works) then updated it back to 8.1 (SIM stops working).
What's really funny though is that my girlfriend has the exact same phone, from the same carrier and she was able to update her phone to Android 8.1 without any problem. I also tested my SIM card on her phone and it works fine too.
Has anyone else experienced this issue? Any ideas on how to troubleshoot it?
Thanks,
Mike.

Where did you get the phones (hers and yours since you specify a diff)?
Did you try the unlock on this thread.
What carrier SIM are you using?
I haven't had that issue on this phone. When I previously encountered it (on the Pixel XL?) I powered my phone down, removed the SIM card, booted the phone up into Android with no SIM, powered back down, inserted the SIM and powered back up.
When you did the factory reset did you restore your phone from a Google Cloud backup? If you did you might have also restored the data that was causing your problem. Choosing the fresh start option instead of restoring from a backup is a much better idea.
Me too, with some added info

Might try having your girlfriend power cycle her phone.
I'm having the exact same issue with phone, Sprint service, except it did not manifest itself until a few days after the update when I power cycled the phone as the youtube app locked everything up.
I tried the advice above by the original poster, and the second poster, less the factory reset, to no avail.
Still looking for a fix. May revert to the prior version if I can figure out how to do that.

I am with a Canadian carrier called TELUS. I assume my phone in unlocked already because before the update I tested it with SIM cards from different carries and they all worked fine.

It was fast, then I restarted. That worked for me!

This also happened to my wife's phone. It just started not recognizing the SIM card on Thursday the 19th. I tried a soft reset, a hard reset, removing and reinstalling the SIM card, updating the Profile and the PRL, all to no avail. I took it to the Sprint store, and they had no fix for it but gave me a code to dial ( *#*#72786#*#* ) that gives you some service for a short while. I finally had to file an insurance claim on it and had them send me out a new phone. I will not be updating to Oreo until they push out a fix for this...
Hey guys,
Just wanted to give you an update on my issue, not sure which one of these things helped but this is what I ended up doing and it seems to be working fine now:
-> Rolled back to Android 7.1
-> Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & bluetooth settings
-> Reset app preferences
-> Downloaded & install android 8.1 oreo update
-> Took out SIM card and restarted the phone
-> Connected to wi-fi
-> Inserted the SIM card and now it has been working fine

Glad to hear it's now working.
I have the same problem first with [ROM][8.1.0][trlte] Resurrection Remix 6.0.0 [20180425][OFFICIAL]. I took out the SIM card and inserted it back to the older Note II runing RR 5.8.5, it works!
Then I installed lineage-15.1-20180427-UNOFFICIAL-trlte.zip from https://basketbuild.com/devs/ripee/trlte [20180427 today], again, NO SIM CARD!
I noticed that both RR and Lineage Oreo 8.1 have the same problem at the first time system reboot: they both ask for inserting SIM card even though the SIM card was already inserted. I have never had such an issue in the countless ROM changes with earlier versions. Since current RR also use Lineage Oreo 8.1, I think the problem most likely comes from the Lineage Oreo 8.1.

I don't get it. Just realize I may be using a different phone (Galaxy Note 4). This method won't work.
I have a Motorola (Moto G5 Plus) and also had this problem. For me it occurred after 1st power down/up after update to Oreo 8.1 (from 8.0). Note that my phone has a dual sim (which I guess might be important here).
This is what worked for me
Settings → system → reset options → reset wifi, mobile, bluetooth.
Turn off the phone
remove sim
Start the phone.
Settings → network → SIM cards → enable Slot 1.
Then the screen with PIN-unlock was finally shown. I just needed to enter the PIN and it now works.
So thankfully didn't need to reset the system or even application settings. Just needed to enter my WiFi password again after all that.
Essential PH-1 SIM Card Problem
I discovered there is an information tag in the SIM Slot (it's got the texture of a mattress tag) the tag has FCC and Consumer Compliance Information printed on it. In my case, when I slid the SIM card into the SIM slot the tag got between the SIM Circuit and the SIM reader. I blew out the SIM Slot with canned air and the tag extended out the SIM slot. I tugged slightly on the tag. It's firmly attached at the top of the Sim slot. When I slid my SIM card back in I had a connection. I contacted Essential and they confirmed that the tag is there and said the tag shouldn't be a problem, but I think in many cases it might be. Essential said I could remove the tag if it interferes with the SIM connection.
I've been having this problem with the newest Android 10 update after about a hour of installation. I'm running twrp with stock Android tried resetting the connections, restarting the phone, and pulling the Sim tray and reinserting. The only thing the fixes the problem is wiping the phone and reinstalling. I'm currently back to running the last build. Anyone else having this problem?
