So I searched the forums for any solution to this problem but to no avail. I have a tf300t that is unlocked, rooted and updated to 4.2.1. Up until recently everything was fine until I realised that my google calendar no longer syncs. Neither does the default asus calendar. I have tried many things but nothing has worked. I've tried uninstalling calendar, removing google account, readding but nothing has worked. I think the problem started when I tried to use ASUS sync with it on my laptop (the calendar and contacts was greyed out on the asus pc sync software). Any suggestions as to how to correct this? I really would like my calendar to be working again. Now I'm considering just doing a clean install again to get this thing to work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
When you go to Settings, select Google under Accounts, and select your Google account, is there a check mark next to Calendar? If so, is there some kind of error message? It's possible that when you set up the ASUS sync software, it just set your sync settings to no longer sync your calendar and contacts with Google since it assumes you'll be doing that with the ASUS software instead.
Otherwise, if there's an error, it could be conflicting with the ASUS software in some way. In that case, you could try clearing the data from, and disabling, the ASUS apps, clear data from Google Calendar and People, and resync. I know that when I used MIUI on my Evo 4G, if you used the built-in MIUI Backup app to restore contact info, it conflicted with Google's contact sync. That could be happening here, too.

Hello,
I'm sick of searching for hours and finding a solution. Let's discuss it here, as I think i'm not the only one Google Contacts user with an HD2.
- I setup exchange with my google account. WORKS
- Sync of main calendar, mail, contacts. WORKS
After sync, my contacts are "Lastname, Firstname". I tried "Contact_changer_v1.3.cab", it fixes it to "Firstname, Lastname". BUT, after phone syncs with google again it changes all contacts back to "Lastname, Firstname".
SOLUTION?
That's strage. I've got the same problem but than the opposite. After Sync with Google my contacts are 'firstname', 'lastname'.
What do you use to sync with Google? I use Nuevasync...
He's using the phone's built-in Exchange feature (ActiveSync) to sync directly with Google, not through some 3rd party solution.
I have the same problem (also using ActiveSync). Well, it's not a problem anymore since I gave up trying to correct it a while ago and just settled for the 'lastname, firstname' situation. I think Google's working on a fix (read it on one of their help communities somewhere) but who knows how long that'll take.
One solution would be if you guys switched: Rubenski, try using ActiveSync; Sallcho, try NuevaSync!
I have this problem too.
What i've found is that all contacts with photos or notes get reverted back after syncing.
So what i've done is to remove all notes/photos.
Anyone know if google is working on this at all?
Earlier today I decided to try out an alternative version of Email.apk, so I backed up the original version of that file, installed the newer version...which proceeded to FC...and then rebooted and restored the original version. Now I can't seem to access information on my corporate Exchange server which was my only account in Email (I also have a Gmail account, but I use the Gmail app for that).
I've tried clearing settings for Email, Calendar (and storage), Contacts (and storage), and Google Services Framework, deleting and recreating the account repeatedly, rebooting after each attempt, etc., but still no luck. Basically it lets me add the account after successfully connecting to the Exchange server, but then it doesn't download email and it doesn't see any calendars or contacts. I know the problem isn't with the Exchange server because all of my other clients (Outlook, OWA, iPhone, etc.) still work fine.
It seems as if there's some kind of cruft floating around from before that's not quite enough to allow Email to work properly, but enough to keep it from properly recreating the account. Is there a particular app database I need to clear/flush in order to recreate this account?
Thanks much for any help!!!
A little research led me to this issue with Android 2.3.3 that seems to be similar if not the same:
https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=15356
Looks like it's been fixed in 2.3.4. Assuming that the patch in the middle of that thread is the actual fix, it doesn't look like it should be that hard to integrate into CM7, though I've never done a build of Android/CM7 so I don't know enough to comment. Any thoughts?
Hi, I tried searching for something like this on xda and I couldn't find anything. On my galaxy s2 the calendar app just doesn't sync with my Google mail account. I go into calendar it asks me to go to he Google account sync setting to sync calendar, even though the tick box for sync calender is checked, I click sync now anyway. After it has finished I go back to the calendar app, and it asks me to do the the same thing again. My contacts and even wallpaper form my old phone were synced propyl from my Google account but not my calendar. I just can't seem to find any reason why it isn't working. I've never had any problems like this before on my old rooted htc desire, where was flashing new roms weekly, so why on my galaxy s2. Would someone be able to help me please?
Just wanted to say I have the same problem, hopefully someone can help us.
I think it might be the Samsung social hub, together with the inability if kies to sync with google, and an assumption that you might want to use kies (or a lack of testing with the google calendar)
Try removing your social hub facebook account, and maybe deleting all the calendar data on the phone (under settings/applications/calander) so long as you are confident you have nothing stored locally without a backup.
I find the social hub facebook integration useless at the moment, since it doesn't hide declined invitations for me, so I'm going back to trying the google integration (which means i get birthdays spamming my calendar instead)

I have never used the Social Hub or Kies or even set any calender events on the phone itself but just clearing the calender data did fix the problem, and my Google calender events started syncing.
Thanks

Hi, i had the same issue and i am using a uk generic rom unrooted. problem seems to have corrected itself now. Wat seemed to cure it for me was to sync over my mobile network instead of wifi.

i also had this problem. i fixxed it within checking apps and delete the calendarfiles completely. after this the sync worked. its a problem of google, which have some android users (not only sgs2)
Hi all,
First of all: I've searched for a while on google and all I found is relative to GDR1, not GDR2 (aka Amber).
After the Amber update I can't retrieve my messages from gmail. The account is setup correctly, the contacts and calendars sync with no issues but not the mail. Sometimes it stays "Syncing..." forever, sometimes I get an error message that says it's impossible to sync and sometimes it says it synced but no message is fetched (and I know there's new messages because I see them in webmail).
Does any one have this issues? Is there any way to get back my mail synced on my phone?
Have you tried removing and reconnecting the account? Does it still sync calendar and contacts, or does none of that work?
Hi,
Yes, I tried to remove the account and add it again. Tried to add the google account as a Microsoft Outlook and the error persists. I see on the web that uninstall skype should address this problem but didn't work too.
The contacts and calendars are all syncing well.
Just the e-mail doesn't work.
I'm a bit frustrated with this. The amber takes a few improvements to WP8, but my e-mail is very important to me.
Thank you for your kind reply!
The simplest next step is to try a hard reset - this will almost certainly fix things, but at the cost of all your data on the phone which isn't backed up. Best case, you have to wait a while while your apps re-download and so on, worst case, you discover there were files stored in some app that you really need and now can't access again.
I'll let you know if anything else I can think of seems plausible. One possibility is to reboot the phone between each change (for example, remove the account, reboot, add it again, possibly reboot again). That's probably not going to do it, though. Sorry I can't help more. I sounds like you've already done the research on this (thank you for doing that, by the way).
Thanks, man!
I feared it was necessary to do a hard reset, but facing the situation I believe it worse a try.
Just one more question: I should do it in the settings/aout/restore or by the combinations of keys at start up?
Should I allow phone to restore my settings at the first boot after reset?
Thank you very much again!
Ok, just did the hard reset by pressing the key combination on startup. My phone was back to the factory settings and after the initial set up was done the first thing I did was add my Google account.
Unfortunately (and it's very frustrating) the phone can't fetch my messages again, but I noted that if I perform a sync on another folder (or label) the messages are fetched correctly, what means that this problem is Inbox relative only.
It's a very cool way to start the weekend! :silly:
Update: I set up my google account as a MS Exchange account and it worked! All my e-mail (with instant notifications), contacts and calendars (after some time all my calendars was fetched) is now working. At least until google definitively shutdown the google sync service.

Hi Folks,
Your help please.
I have a stock Mate 9 / MHA-AL00 / EMUI 5.001, set to use English language & loaded with Google Play Store (USA). Its a great phone as we all know. No major issues with my set up. My problem...Google calendar only synchs when the phone is booted/rebooted. There are NO synch issues with GMail or any other program. None of the advice from Google Help addresses my issue. I'm unable to disable or uninstall the baked in Google Calendar from the orginnal Huawei load but not an issue as it runs but won't synch either unless I reboot.
One more bit of odd behavior....when the phone is restarted and I go into Settings/Accounts/Google/Calendar Synch.....I'm able to switch on and off the Calendar Synch switch with good results IF I do this within 8 minutes of the restart. After 8 minutes or so, the synch function doesn't work...until the next reboot. Clearing the caches on the calendar programs does not help. There is a Google Calendar Synch app (system installed) but it doesn't seem to do the synching I'm needing.
Your thoughts please...and thank you.
