Hi, I have a problem with my HTC Leo. I have been succesfully using NAND Android (PacMan HD2) for over a year and now it suddenly crashed. When I try to boot it, it vibrates once on HTC screen (a white one) and than changes to aMAGLDR screen and vibrates 7 times. It does not show the menu, only labels at the top of the screen (aMAGLDR V1.13, build date and author).
Is there any possibility to fix it? The most important thing for me is not to lose my data, specially messages...
install magldr again. I did it, didn't erased anything. but try with your own risk.
sorry for my funny English
Thanks for advice, but... it won't be so easy any longer Yesterday when the phone was stuck on aMAGLDR screen I was trying to put it into bootloader (holding volume down and pushing reset button) to give you some more info about my HD2 and it has turnd off and never on again!;( Now it's not even possible to turn it on, it does not 'recognize' a charger (green LED not 'turning on' when I plug in a charger)... Do you think my Leo is now only a crap of sheet?:/

you need to jtag your phone
Ok, but it's probably not very possible for me to do it by myself, right...? And, in this case, I will probably loose all my data from the phone..?;/

Yes, but luckily Google will restore your contacts, texts, settings, apps and more automatically if you login with your account.

Whoa- there, slow down, buddy! You don't even know what's wrong with the device, you can't just "advise" him to JTAG his device!?
As shanman said, check the battery pins, one or all were likely bent during a battery pull or something. If that's the case, it's not serious and does not require a jtag to fix. Simply straighten the pins and your device should start working again (If the battery still has charge).
If that didn't work, try another battery, or recharge the battery externally.

Battery pins look pretty nice, I also checked the phone with second battery... But the point is that it does not even react for plugging a charger (I heard that HD2 boots up when you plug the cable and then pull the battery in). And what more the phone had crashed while I was trying to put it into bootloader, without pulling the battery out...

I want to know if there is an other way to turn the HD2 on then the standard way. Press the phone down button.
Becouse I think my buttons are a bit broken. Maybe not but I think it.
I can't hear the click sometimes and I also don't feel the click.
I want to know this becouse I want to flash to a custom rom.
I Have already done it with Artemis V11 rom and it was GREAT! I used SSPL.
Have flashed it back becouse my warranty and when it is real broken. How can I reset my device then. Flash back then.
I hope you know the answer for me.
PS. Sorry for my bad English.
The only other way that I could think that may work (haven't tried) might be by pressing the reset button
I think Svegetto is right - The soft reset button will switch it on.

I'm going to try it now, and when it works I'm going to flash it back to Artemis V11. Thanks for the info.
It didn't work, Let's wait for an other option. Thanks for the answser
I'm pretty sure if you take the battery out, plug in the charger, then place the battery back in it'll turn on. Mine seems to do that, anyway.
Not very helpful when you're out and about, though.
like said in the above post sometimes when i need to reboot due to freeze i take the battery out and when putting it back it its switches ok automaticaly. But only sometimes
Try rubbing it gently while telling it how wonderful it is.

doesn't do that for me, and I do that quite often as I always switch the drained battery with another one

Just a suggestion, as I think it worked on my HD1, b ut does plugging it in with no battery in do anything? (hope someone will quickly point out if this will be dangerous!)

I can imagine this could be potentially fatal to the HD2... I'm certainly ain't gonna try it on mine !
Hehe I used to do it at odd times... (my power button was broken in the 'on' positions, so I was always taking the battery in/out to turn it off/on)
Will it turn on without the battery???
Have one that came without battery, does not turn on at all, nothing happens. Does it have t have a battery installed to turn on?

that is because you are using MAGLDR (for android, according to your signature). when you plug in the charger when the device is off, MAGLDR turns the device on so that an OS (WP7 or android) can load and charge the battery...because MAGLDR itself does NOT support charging the battery when the device is off.
to answer the original question, my observation about the standard/stock behavior is that the device needs a battery to be inserted to be able to turn on. so plugging in a charger with NO battery won't get you anywhere. if battery is present (with or without charger plugged in), it will turn on only when the power button (end call button) is pressed. MAYBE the reset button might also work, but never tried it that way.
Just flash Magldr

I've been having this problem since the first installation of MAGLDR; The "Orange LED" bug, as most of us know, prevents the phone from charging while the phone is off, and the LED remains orange even AFTER the phone is unplugged. I've found a few circumstances where this will occur:
1. Powering down the phone with USB plugged in causes this issue with most builds
2. Same as #1 but when doing a reboot
3. Phone dies, then plugging USB will bring about the "orange LED" bug
I've found a workaround for these as I'm sure MANY of you have already, but I wanted to post a thread just for people who haven't found an answer yet. The following list corresponds to the items above:
1. Unplug USB before selecting "Power off" on your device
2. " " " " "
3. Kinda tricky.. a) if phone is COMPLETELY dead, pull the battery, plug USB, THEN replace battery, and b) If phone has battery and is OFF, power on phone, wait until "GO! GO! GO!" screen disappears, and then plug in USB.
I think the problem comes about when finishing the installation of your ROM via MAGLDR, OR it could be a bug within MAGLDR itself. It could quite possibly be the kernels, as JDMS' UltimateDroid ROM did NOT cause the orange LED when a REBOOT was performed...
Well either way, I hope this helps some people avoid this problem and gives the dev's something to work on.. Not that their work goes unappreciated
Or do like me. Leave the phone on, put it in flightmode and charge it.

How would this help if phone is completely dead? Seriously, this could be useful. Can someone try this and confirm?

I'm afraid to answer here as the OP might get upset, or tell me to start my own new thread.
Anyway. As I like to help people I will answer your question.
I bought a new battery for my HD2, and it did not have enought power to power on the phone (running NAND).
Not sure if this fixed the charging problem, but I removed the battery for +/- 30 seconds, reinserted the "dead" battery, plugged in the charger.
After some time (seconds) the orange battery came on, and the battery was beeing charged.
I left the phone charging for some time (expecting the light to go green when done), but it never did (NANDproblem?)
So after 1/2 day of charging, I disconnected the charger, and guess what.. the oragne light was still on.
Again I removed the battery, reinserted it again, and powerd on the phone.
The battery was fully charged, and I'm now enjoying 2 to 3 days of phone use before needing to charge it again.
Now.. I'm not 100% sure about 1st connecting the charger, and reinsering the battery, or 1st reinsering the battery and than connecting it to the charger.
I'm having charging issues but in a different way.
when i plug the charger to the phone while the screen is off, the LED does not light until I i press the red button (actually any button) to wake up the screen.
Is anybody having a similar issue?

This is not a problem for me too. The real problem is with whatsapp
when ever someone sends me a message on whatsapp while the screen is off, i dont receive it until i press the power button to unlock the screen. So i thought this might have anything to do with the charge issue.
I have no problem with this bug,he it is on the charger,so why turn it off is my question.....i just turn the sound off lol.
Hello there
I have a T-mobile HD2, with Energy Rom, and AmeriCanAndroid SD Rom
they have been working perfectly for about 2 months....
yesterday, I was having a call, using the android, when the call ended I couldn't hang up and the phone froze... I waited for about 10 minutes and nothing different with the phone, just freezing! I took the battery off and reinserted it, and here i am, with a stone dead phone, not hard or soft resetting, not charging, and yes, the battery is charged.....
The phone is not booting at all, not vibrating, just as if it has no battery !
what should i do !?
PLEASE HELP ME !!!
and thanks for reading...
See if you can enter bootloader (vol down and power on) if you can then extract a stock ruu and place the leoimg.nbh on the root of your SD card using a card reader or other method, then enter bootloader and follow instructions to factory reset your phone
Hope this helped

thanks for answering but I can't turn the phone on in any way, even in boot loader !!!!
that's why I am crying, I don't know if the phone is bricked, but I didn't do anything to brick it !
Check the battery pins.
thanks man...
but it's not the pins or the battery, because i tried something different, i plugged the charger in and left it, then later I put my battery in a different hd2, and it was 100%, in other words, it's charging but no led is lighting up on the phone when doing so....
the charging circuit on the phone is intact, but the phone is not getting electricity as I see it now...
any new suggestions please?!

the actual pins that are coming out of the phone and touch the battery. The battery might be fine but if the pins it touches on the phone are bent it won't turn on.
I don't think this will work if your battery is working in someone else's phone but, whenever I had that problem, after checking then pins were straight, I'd stick the battery under my armpit for 5 minutes, then back in the phone, then back on charge. Either way, good luck.
@Orangekid - I've checked the status of my phone with HTC and it says "under repair"...fingers crossed...

my friend deleted some files from his memory from his htc hd2 like an idiot
and now the phone is failing to respond and wont turn on, neither does it show any sign of life...
any ideas on what to do?
it cant possibly be a hardware failure since nothing happened to the phone..
Maybe just an out of juice battery? Try to recharge, is there an orange light? Also check the battery pins (on phone).
Deleted some files? shouldn't system files be undeletable?
Anyway, Download a ROM from HTC's website using the serial number from the device.
Power on while holding "VOLUME-Down" .. then run the ROM installation.
nope, tried charging
and im not sure he said he deleted some stuff
and then the phone didnt turn on at all
and ive tried holding the volume down, and the power button (which is the bottom right button?)
still no responce
can you get to bootloader? no matter what files your friend deleted this should work. unless he flashed something; then all bets are off.
if so, flash your original wm 6.5 rom. it will reinstall everything. then proceed to put back whatever rom/os you were using.
Check battert-slot pins (the pins on the phone when they contact your battery) straighten them delicately)
how do i get into boot loader?
and the 3 pins are diagonal, they are at a 45 degree angle, is this normal?

Threads showing those symptoms are reported all over, and in 99.9% of cases its either bent battery pins or flashing a non tmous stock rom to a tmous phone.
45 degree pins doesn't sound right, they should come out straight 90deg to the inner wall of the battery compartment, and they do bend easily.
LOOOL THE 3 PINS WERNT CONNECTING TO THE BATTERY

Hi Guys my Htc hd2 is not turning on. The battery is fully charged. I tried to remove the battery and put it back. this didn't help me. 1 thing is for sure that I didn't brick my phone. I was running Android 4.0 & now it just doesn't turn ON. The Strange thing is that when I tried to charge it turns on and then suddenly turn off in one second. So it starts and then it turns off. Maybe this is boot loop errors. What should I do ? Very Frustating. Had so much fun with this phone & now it is completely dead.... help me please.
Check battery pins, they are easily bent!
Also it may be that your power button is stuck, try pressing and releasing quickly a few times - might help!

+1 to those pins. Check the pins. Usually the middle pin gets bent and results in the led light flashing.
