To clear up some confusion about this rom, it is miui v4 not gb. At this moment in time v4 is not the huge jump gb miui was. Expect some issues too like SMS names not showing unless number is saved in international format. Miui v4 is a beta and many issues will be due to that and not the rom. I will try to keep you all posted on issues and if its something we can fix or miui need to.

Wow, great news... and kudus to the CyanogenMod team for the effort of reaching the CM port developers.
We have some good CM ports and Blefish is already working on a 3 kernel to port CM9, so this could really work.

No news from either side, regarding the CM/u8800 devs relations?

Edit: download link is horrible, really slow.
Edit2: Just updated from earlyer version (wiped davilk and partition cache) and it is working perfect. Aslo i am using backup theme (terramino's v9.7) from GB and also working like a charm.

2d/3d performance(the second picture when the acceleration GPU 2D)

The rom feels smoother than Aurora and I've had no major problems, but I've only been using it for a few hours. So far, totally recommend it!

I can post some screenshots for you in a little while, but just remember this is v4, based on ICS, so it's obviously not going to look exactly like your old GB MIUI.

Instalization
Reboot into Recovery using 3-button-combo (VolumeUp+Home+Power)
Do a Nandroid Backup or your choice backup application (optional)
WIPE (wipe data/factory reset + wipe cache partition)
Install the ROM from internal sdcard
At this point it will restart and continue boot looping – DO NOT PANIC!!
Reboot into Recovery using 3-button-combo (VolumeUp+Home+Power)

Haha, yeah yeah, it's all good. I've been flashing roms like crazy between my own releases.. looking into older roms I can bring back/revive, and newer roms that are faster and such. I like 'em all!

There are more GT-I9000 users around than SGH-I897 these days. Most users switched to the SGS2 Skyrocket or SGS3 on AT&T. Or abandoned the SGS line all together.

This is not my work, in the first post is the source miui.cn. You can register on miui.en and ask directly to the developer. When will a new version i update in the first post. PS - use Entropy to improve the speed, this version is still in beta

It depends on the devices, with Patchrom MIUI you can use any version of Android. This is based on Android 4.4.4 Omni
