I have android 2.3.5 with 2giga sd card i want ask if any posibility to update the android edition to newer with out to have problems to crash my cell fhone or to not working blutooth or wifi i am new to this site and i dont have make any atemtion to change something exept the rooting that i have made at my device

Hi i'm a newbie on this forum.. im making thi thread because i want to have some help with my case... i bought samsung galaxy s plus with android 2.33 gingerbread on in. i'd want to update it to ICS 4.0 (or other ICS versions)
but i don't know how... i've been searching for that on the net.. and the only thing i found is installing ISC 4.0 on samsung galaxy s I9000.. i think it installling ISC 4.0 on i9001 can be different and i dont wanna damage my phone .

There is no ICS for 9001 unfortunately. And it's not in sight.
As the phones have a completely different hardware board (the i9001 has more in common with HTC Desire HD e.g. than with i9000) porting 9000 > 9001 is almost impossible.
Also some very good Devs already hard bricked their phones while trying to complete a cyanogenmod port. Makes it not very easy.
awww it's so good that i didn't upgraded it....
i don't want my phone to get bricked... by the way can i upgrade it to some kind of newer version?? maybe 2.36?? or 2.35 can i do that?? can anyone tell me how?
There are some threads pinned in this section which will teach you how to flash a new rom and which will help you to select the right one. Just have a look.

even though this is in the wrong section, just for info, i was talking to one of the devs from DHD today about porting ICS from his build, we came to a conclusion that replacing gpu libs and boot.img , plus some build.prop modifications and we might get a booting version, the only problem i'm afraid of is the board.platform , both arc (or arc s) and DHD have msm7x30 while we have msm7k (like SGS). ofcourse, we'd also need some1 for kernel development. as i'm not dying to get ICS the project is on hold for now, but if anyone decided to give it a try i'd be glad to help
p.s. he said one interesting thing that i didn't know before, since our device is relatively new , our drivers and libs are made to work on ICS (if i understood it right).
uhh... guys i hav a sgy and i wanna install cyanogen mod 9 on it. sooo i hav senn forums on this but had no luck. i want a final version of cyanogen mod for my sgy all i hav seen r betas for devs wch are full of lag and bugs i need a final version wch is proper and i also need a software to backup all the stuff on my phone to my pc (ps:i dont want mediago) wch can backup literely everything on my sgy to my pc including contacts messages ect everything and i hav creeds rom rite now an old version of it soo do i need cyanogen mod 7 flashed and installed before installing cyanogenmod 9 guys plz reply ASAP need help! :cyclops:
creating thread asking for a build to come out of beta won't do any good - its in beta because there are some complex patches which are either in the making or they are impossible to make ATM because of limited availability of sources/documentation and/or incompatibility with existing libs.
also afaik you don't need cm7 to flash cm9 but you do need a supported kernel
why fix it if it ain't broken ?

Its easy to ask for a rom but it is very hard to make. We only have betas because our sources are not conpleted unlike galaxy mini, ace, etc please stop posting things like this. You can't just ask for stable versions. If you want. Then build it yourself.

thxxx guys ! i hav downloaded a unofficial version of cmmod 9for sgy will it work allri8 on my sgy. and i also need a software to backup everything on my phone to the pc. literally everything! including messages , contacts,etc ,apk's,data i need software for that soo plz could gimme a link r a name of a good software pc? For contacts, you can simply export contacts data to memory card, for backing up SMS you can search SMS backup and restore in Play Store. And lastly, Titanium Backup can backup your apps and data.

This is a developer's only release,
it is unstable, unusable, useless, buggy, laggy build,
we got it booting, and made some things appear,
that is all,
unless you are a developer trying to fix the bugs and provide a workaround to those issues,
feel free to install,
if you are a basic user and just want CM9 for lulz or fun or if you think it is usable,
be my guest and flash it, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

You are nuts! When CM9 was booted so lately on galaxy Y, you expect a final version to come out without broadcomm drivers, EH?
Well you might not be knowing this S#!t as it is only known to devs. Well hear it, it is IMPOSSIBLE to get even a Release Candidate for SGY while M Snapshot will be available by 20-30%.
Talking 'bout M snapshot and release candidate? These are versions of CyanogenMod. Hope this discussion is sufficient enough for you to understand! (Edit : Though I too get irritated waiting for this thing years and years! )

There is cm11 - you will find it in the Dev section & the support thread in the general section (both threads are on the 1st page so I'm sure you can find them)
Note apps will still need to be armv6 compatible

Cm9 has bugs including calls & audio
Even if you get the dialer working you wouldn't be able to hear anyone & the can't hear you
Either
Flash stock rom via odin

Im using CM12 On my device and my sister want´s upgrade too.... Samsung stuck 7102t on 4.3.. i tried this "can´t post links (CM 13)" But don´t work
