CyanMobile source build - EVO 4G General

Well I have been working on source building for the past few days. I tried multiple ubuntu versions and ended up using 13.04 and was able to create a test rom from source (evervolv 4.1.2). I have been working on getting CyanMobile up and working and looks like I am very near to having a working copy so I figured I would put up a few links to other ports so yall can see what it looks like.
What is CyanMobile? Well it is a combo rom full of many features from cm7,9,10, and 10.1 all running on a gingerbread base. This means that it will be a fully functional rom cameras and all. Might even get 4g if I can figure that part out and get it included also!! Well onto the goodies.

Random pictures mostly of CyanMobile from Google

Hopefully I can get this going before too long.

Not bad. Look forward to trying it out. Good luck.

Yay random announcement

Alright I have a test version of CyanMobile uploaded.
What is not working
- Market
- Torch widget (works but if you use the widget the screen will black out and you have to pull battery)
- Some setting options FC
- Weather (think it is related to the Market)
What I have not tested
- Bluetooth
- 4g
- HDMI out
The majority of the rom is working but without market it is not really ready for daily use. Your google account will sync so gmail, g+, talk and the other gapps work fine. I have tried several different vendor.apk along with a few phonesky.apk and they all force close.

I still totally dig the feel of Cyanmobile.... I got too comfortable on ClassicSense after I switched back to the OG, but I'm gonna get back on Cyan before friday..... Keep it up man, seriously. It's a great contribution.

So looking at the pics, and reading the facts about this. Dude, make this happen. It looks great, sound awesome and it's definitely original.

Exactly what I told him the other day..... This would be THE GB rom to beat. It truly is amazing and runs very smooth. Not short on options either.

I'm just waiting for market and then I will add to one of my boot manager slots.

Android 4.0 System Dump

I just got this from somewhere on Droid forums. It is the Ice cream
sandwich dump. Which is what I'm working on now. And to say, coming along nicely. It booted, just have to edit build.prop and drivers and boom. Working 4.0 for fascinates. I can't even wait. Theirs new live wallpapers!!! bracket, dust, water, ocean, and moon night. All look nice. The ocean is a remix of the original ocean waves live wallpaper, water is so cool.
You'll all see it in my next release of Runnymede S4

Yes MTD. Its the only one that would run it without having market problems. Like the app is incompatible with this device error.

Great news everybody,
First, i've deodexed all the apps from ICS. AND THEY STILL WORK!
Second, wifi, bluetooth, camera, GPS!!!, Graphic, Multitouch drivers all work.
It scores 870-1000 In quadrant (Pretty good for a port)
And 400-800 in Antutu benchmark (Ill make up for this)
Now for the bad,
Its just a tad (Not that noticeable, but still there) laggy-ness. But thats ok, that will soon change.
Icons quality look really bad (again will change) and No ICS Launcher (because first, it wasn't signed in the first place, and wasn't zipaligned at all, but i'll make up for this)
Oh as well, systemUI.apk wasn't signed again.
And if anyone wants to test (theirs a small chance that it will be in private beta tonight) just PM Me and ill send you a link.
you are awsome! let me know if there is any way i can help you in this process.
So you've managed to do all this despite there being no working smali/baksmali tools yet out? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

ICS Nexus S 4G full working

Fully Stable ICSI would just like to let you guys know (If you havent been in General Lately.) that some devs at Androidcentral are working on an ICS rom built from SDK
http://forums.androidcentral.com/sp...127806-read-only-memory-ics-sdk-port-wip.html
Flash this afterwards so you get Root, Proper fonts and lockscreen fixes.
Also, some goodies:
http://tylerwatt12.com/XDA/ics/gallery/
Build 1A below, current build is build 2B see forum for download link
New version
What works:
WiFi
SD Card
Touchscreen
Hardware Acceleration(most)
Camera (After first FC)
Home, search and back buttons (not menu button)
Headphone and ext spk. sound
3G Text, MMS
What doesn't:
(Some ICS lib's had to be replace with GB lib's. So it's not exactly a clone of the SDK build (still great work though)
NFC no worky
I'm being told Calls dont work
Tap to share
some ICS features are left out.
Ill explain things a bit better here:
With any android release (Not including Honeycomb) the software release goes as follows:
Android develops the Android Version
A PR is made on the subject usually including a new device that will run the software
Between the announcement and release of the phone the SDK is released for that new version of Android
A Dev takes apart the SDK version of the rom and starts porting things over.
SDK builds don't usually work as an every-day phone, just something to play around with.
Sometime after the phone is released Source Code for the Android Version is released in which dev's will be able to make awesome ROM's that work well
(Fastest source release to rom build is about 1 hour) So you can expect that after Source is released Dev's will get a working ROM within hours.
... Weeks/Months Later..
Samsung releases ROM's to Carriers for OTA Updates.
Correct me if i'm wrong in any part here guys

Hey, just wanted to clarify, the ROM is not built from source but ported from the released 4.0 SDK.
I read earlier that its a sdk port and not source code. Is there a quick explanation regarding the difference between the two.

Source code is just that, source. The actual source used to compile android. The android SDK is a tool released for emulators allowing you to emulate the os on your computer, for example. These ports are ported from that emulator while roms you see around here are built from source for your device.
looks like the thread may have been shut down, or maybe thats just my account on android central since i joined since the ICS port a few days ago?

As cool as these ports are, they'll never have full use out of them being a SDK. I wish the launch of IC was sooner as far as updating. Waiting until the 10th for the Galaxy Nexus to come out was a little bit of a wait. A week or two after it was announced would have been reasonable.

and keep it to the NS4g tho for convo, other threads are popping up like crzy for phones.

Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA App
The Sensation doesn't have a CDMA/LTE combo radio like ours so unfortunately it's not very useful for what we need to get fixed but hopefully we will get our own ICS leak soon or the developers will figure out ril on their own.
Very cool, subscribed for future updates!
This by far the cleanest looking ROM. I am addicted to flashing. I cant seem to find my driver. If this gets fully developed. Which I pray it does, then without a doubt, this WILL be the last ROM I will ever flash. keep up the awesome work!
why would anybody want to load this if its still in the the alpha 4 stages and no data is working? I rather install this if data is working but not mms or camera, but thats the reason to have a phone is to be able to call.
I would love to see this out of alpha and into beta 1 or beta 2 etc.

No problem, hope it works for you. Personally, I'd run a GB+ ROM at this point, but to each their own. I'm on ICS AOKP build 25 myself, for today anyways. Tomorrow it could be the next newest thing, or back to CM7, or a GB TW ROM. The nice thing with the TW based builds such as ComRom/Superclean is that they just work, unlike a lot of the AOSP builds that all have their own quirks.

I hear that. I travel fairly regularly for work as well. I'll normally run my flavor of the week, just to see how it holds up. If it's not solid and reliable, then I'll roll back to something that is. A reliable GPS is a must, as most of the places I travel to are new to me. I'm anxious to see how this latest ICS build holds up on my next trip.

Nope, no themes, sorry. The CM7 I've been using is makelegs' build since the official nightlies shut down. For CM9, it's been JT & sbrissen's build. I haven't tried the latest version there yet though, so I can't comment on it. The ricks port of AOPK 25 has been running well for me. I had the non-working wifi in build 22, but it seems solved in build 25.

After our conversation about ComRom I decided to give AOKP another whirl and I must say I'm impressed. My last attempt at running it was full of reboots and data drops but it must have been a bad download because it ran smooth all night. In any event I switched back to ComRom this morning with Detox theme.Once again,I appreciate all your time and effort.

Yep, this new builds been running well for me so far. I've been happy with it. I'm glad I could help you out so you can get back up and running. I've done my (more than) fair share of downloading the great work that the dev's offer here. If my contribution is making a few of them available again for other to use, so be it.
