[Q] Press to unlock lockscreen

Hi,
I'm looking into developing a custom lock-screen, that would use a kind of 'Press to unlock' feature, instead of the usual slide or drag to unlock... I've disliked the slide/drag to unlock lock-screens ever since I bought my HTC Wildfire, but have had no alternative, hence why I am looking to create an alternative.
It would be similiar to most lockscreens where it would have a Clock, and things. I'm thinking it would have three default buttons(ie. Unlock, Volume(would cycle through On, Mute, and Vibrate with each press) and most likely Power Down) with options to add more of your choosing.
My question is... is this a feasible idea, and would it be possible with the current Android 2.1 and 2.2 source?

I like the idea.
Skinnable "Press to unlock" buttons or doo-hickeys would be nice.

I would love this. I'm not a big fan of the slide to unlock, either.

Briefly had a custom ROM. Feature in it that can be added to stock ROM?

I recently tried a custom ROM for adding additional USB host functionality to my N7. I flashed back to the stock ROM because I didn't like some of the other features in the custom ROM. One feature I did like in the custom was the "dismiss all recent apps." button. It looks just like the one for notifications (top right button / icon) in this image (the one with three stacked lines):

but was in the top right of the popup for recent apps. (when you press the icon on the right in the set of three icons at the bottom of the screen).
Is there any way to add this "dismiss all recent apps." button / icon to the stock ROM?

Short answer: no.
Long answer: That feature was added by modifying the source code for android, so you can't hack it into stock.

Just use Tasker
I was going to look for an app but in the process I realized that with a combination of Nova Launcher and Tasker there is an even better solution. I can now lock the screen either by double tapping the home screen or just by long long pressing the home button.

You can also use the Assistant Menu under accessibility in settings

I'm kinda missing the feature of holding back button for a 1,5-2sec to kill app that is in full screen. It's missing in +5 for some reason. Any ideas how to replace it? I didn't find a port for now. Device is rooted ofc

hope they will implement in stock rom... Why don't we input this request in their system ? If we will be many, they will hear us maybe

Well, All In One Gestures on the play store allows you to do this.

It requires root and a bunch of permissions if you feel it's needed.

I also use All In One Gestures just for Back to Kill

Hi there , the screenshot shortcut POWER + VOLUME DOWN really bug's me, I'm hitting it many times , it's there any option to change it to VOLUME UP?

I was actually wondering the same thing. I hate having to delete screenshots all day long. I would be fine with just turning it off since you can do a screenshot from the power button or the 3 finger swipe.

but I would love to cancel the existing shortcut

Also need this option to disable screenshot with power+volume buttons. It's very annoying!
