Hi,
For some reason my S3's Play Store only ever gives me results from Spain (where the handset has been) but I'm in Belgium
I've tried various ways to 'relocate' it correctly, to no success. Also I've tried tweaking my Google account settings via the web and it did nothing.
Anyone have any ideas please?
is this a help section?
Are you by any chance still using a Spanish SIM?
Hi,
Nope, actually it's never even had a Spanish SIM in it. My original GMail account dates back to when living in Spain tho.

Google is now using many things to make sure people can only use the store for their location and the country where the gmail account was set up is one of the things they take into account. Along with where it was sold at.
Simple guess you have Spanish firmware or CSC .

Hey,
Nope, it's actually purchased in Belgium, but I've changed the CSC to the United Kingdom and run the latest UK ROM on it.
Looks like your country is changed to Spain, try set it to Belgium
Yes, but where exactly? This is the question
try to clear play store data and cache then reboot
The problem is your Gmail account.
Look for the deep setting of your Google account...

I've been working in Germany for a while there I decided to buy a Nexus 4 through the Play Store.
However I came to Portugal, and now on my Play Store continues to show me the categories "Movies" and "Books" with content in German language when not even available here in Portugal.
I already removed my address German Google account and returned to pre-define the abode Portuguese.
I'm sure this is some definition to my account, because I started the session with another Android and appears in Portuguese and all without the categories "Movies" and "Books."
I think my Google account continues to be taken as if it were still in Germany.
Does anyone know how I can resolve this situation?
I leave also two prints of the situation, the same happens on my computer's browser.
Thanks

Credit Cards https://wallet.google.com/manage/#paymentMethods
Home Address: https://wallet.google.com/manage/#settings
Latitude Home & Work: https://maps.google.com/locationhistory/b/0/dashboard
Also check which Country SIM card you currently have, and what Country IP addess you used to created your Gmail account.
Android Market tends to use current SIM card for Country Location.

Already cleared the browser cookies, and the cache of Play Store. I do not know what could be...
some guys from my country (Poland) had exactly the same problem.
as stated 2 posts above, you have to change all your settings back to portugese everywhere in google services, and that also includes google wallet !!
and after that im pretty sure you have to re-login to your google account on the nexus 4 which is basically doing a factory wipe/reset!
also keep in mind that i do recall some guys from polish forums claiming that even after that did all that, the problem didint fix.
i think they ended up calling google for help, after all it is not illegal to buy this phone the way you did

I travel in and out of the US a couple times a year. ATM, I have a US payment method and address, I'm in the US using a T-Mobile SIM. I can't access country-restricted apps, such as Pandora and Hulu. According to MarketHelper (or whatever it was called) I am T-Mobile US. I've called contacted Google, and they've refused support since I'm running a custom ROM (CM nightlies). Hence two questions:
Any ideas about the market issues?
How can I revert to stock and be able to come back to CM easily? I can't make a nandroid because I have 10GB of Google Music.

try clearing the data for the market app, then reopen it and log in.
Google had me do that, and also the data for Google Play services. By logging back in, do you mean delete my Google account from sync settings and re-add it?

no. when you open the play store after deleting data, it asks you to accept terms of use. i meant that.
Yes, that I did

Google uses a combination of the country your email address was reg in, as well as a few other things to determine what country store your app uses.
That's unfortunate, but how can I force it to reset? I don't even remember what country my email was registered in, but I'm sure in the US now and have been for the last year. I can confirm it's account related because I logged into another account and it works fine.

Only way is to contact google about it and tell the what is going on. They maybe be able to help you but dont hold out to hope.
Yes, they're support is pure garbage. I've been in contact with them but they're really no help.
Try going to Google Play My Account > Settings and confirm the carrier and device is correct. Next, try to install Pandora to the device. If it wont, it tell you why.
As I said previously is T Mobile US and I can't install Pandora. It seems to be an account issue because with a different account on my phone or on the website I can install Pandora

Try installing it from the web site with the same account that does not work on your phone. I may hint as to why it won't install.
When I had my Nexus S in Paris on SFR SIM, I was able to install SFR apps, but not update some US restricted ones, so I believe the market is tied to the SIM card, regardless of where the Google account was created. Other services, like Google Voice would depend on where the account was created (US only).
SIM, payment method, addresses are all US now.
I can't install even from the web (using my account).
With a different account I can install from my phone or web.
From the website it says: "This item cannot be installed in your device's country"

OK, your account still thinks you have a NON US SIM card. Power off, remove the SIM, power on and connect to WiFi. Check the web and see if the carrier clears itself. If you have market enabler installed, remove it, or try a different US carrier.
This is a bit of a stretch, but could you make a new gmail in the U.S and just use that one for the market?

I can confirm this works, I logged in from my work gmail and it works just fine. It seems like it would be a radical step to switch my Gmail account though. Theres gotta be a better way.
I called again, and this time they had me do something similar but slightly different (and ridiculous if you as me). I went to a paid app that WAS available to me (I randomly chose Minecraft) and I clicked buy (it was showing the wrong currency but I clicked anyhow) and then accepted the permissions, leading me to the next screen, which is a confirmation screen, in which the app will be purchased if you hit buy again but you don't, and you hit back and go back to the app. At this point you exit the Play Store and then (without force stopping it) you clear its data. You open it again, accept the terms and voilá! At least in my case this solved it, for some reason...
I must add that I removed foreign credit cards from google wallet (which according to previous conversations with them should have been a non-issue unless it was selected as default, which it never was), that I had on file but haven't used lately, so maybe that was related and that + a wipe of play store data was needed, I guess I'll never know now...
I'm in the UK, did a wipe data/factory reset on my phone, inserted my SIM and during the simple setup I chose everything as English (UK).but I did not add a Google account and there were other things I did not do.
Google Now will work, it will give you text response but it just won't speak back at me?
Even whilst I was waiting for my SIM to be activated and number transferred, I was playing with the Nexus 4 with WiFi and even then I couldn't get it to speak back at me.
This is really bizzare, do you think this possible to fix? I'm starting to lose hope.
Please leave your suggestions, I have tried checking the volume/levels of the phone they are all on max, I've checked in Voice Search and it is set to 'always speak' or something along the lines of that.
Hopefully I can get this fixed.
Have you got the latest Google Search? My voice search didn't work after flashing a new ROM until I updated it.

I reckon you could be onto something here. So how would I do this, I tried going to Settings, Apps and selected Google Search all I got was clear data and clear cache.
I haven't configured any Google account on my phone yet, I suppose this is associated with the Play Store, so if I login with a Google account through the Play Store I should get a notification with x number of updates are available, right?
It will only accept a Google account right? I suppose I need to create one, hopefully whilst registering I can get a @gmail.com one or @gmail.co.uk.
Yep, once you log in, go to the Play Store and it will tell you if there's an update for Google search, and any other other apps.
Same here, I believe it only soaks back if you're in the US. Typical Google.

You have to remember that Google Now is still in Beta and you are somewhat correct in that you have to select English (US) as your language when setting up the phone.

I use English (UK) and it works perfectly for me (male voice). With US it's female voice.
Go into the settings>voice and if you don't see hot word detection download a offline speech recognition

As far as I know it's not only working in the US. They have added a few other languages too
For example I'm from Germany and it's working great here, my language is set to German and everything's fine :good:
@OP: Please try setting up your google account and updating google search, then it should work

Cheers, will give this a try.
Adding a Google account and updating Google Search fixed the problem. Although, I needed to go in and search for Google Search and click update, is there anyway I can get Play Store to scan my phone and update everything rather than individually?
Hey guys! To start off, yes, I searched the forums and yes, I tried Google as well.
My problem is that I live in Austria, my Google account is set to Austria, I have an Austrian phone number... Yet when I try to download the mobile banking app of an Austrian bank in the play store, it shows it as not available in my country. I´ve tried all the methods like market enabler, vpn´s and like to make it work but without success. Also, most of these articles were written more than a year ago, so probably they are not really up to date with all the changes. So, could any of you give me an advice on how to download the app?
Thank you for your replies!
Hi all,
I've recently bought this gorgeous Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, and I'm using it on O2 (UK), and I have a good mobile plan (with international calls) from my wife's contract, but I can't find the app Talk2Go in playstore. If I look after it on google, I can access playstore (for that app, apart that it's working fine) but I'm getting the message "This item cannot be installed in your device's country". The same message I'm getting by accessing playstore from PC. How can I install it from playstore (in order to get usually updates of the app)?
I have installed the apk (which isn't the latest build, but it's working fine) though from google, but, like I said, I want the playstore version.
Same issue with O2 app. I'm guessing there's an issue on my phone somewhere but I can't realize where?
check your software version, if the phone was manufactured or bought outside of the UK . It has the wrong software on it.
It recognizes playstore from a different country. simply flash the latest O2 software and the problem should be corrected.
Some apps are only for certain countries..
Try to VPN it, if it doesnt work.. make a new account for that region just to download apps...
which version should be? I have now:
what do you mean by new account for that region?
So
did you previously use it outside the region that you reside in now....just make a new playstore confirm your bank acc make a small purchase and just refund it should change location to where u reside make sure the bank is from where u currently reside in and try again if not then you are gonna have to proxy your connection by an app
no, I bought it from a local guy, hard reset and added my sim, and with UK card in google wallet. I've called google 10 min ago reporting this issue, and it's on going.
