I read that it was suppose to come out yesterday. Will mine not get updated if I have a custom ROM?

And if you google around, you can find the apk which you can install now instead of waiting how ever long it takes Google to activate it on all devices.
Here is the link to the android police article with download link. I installed it with no issues and my Razr M is rooted and unlocked http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/04/09/download-completely-redesigned-latest-google-play-store-4-0-25/
I like the layout of the new store, but I hate that they went back to that ugly green.

Don't love the new layout. Yet. And definitely agree with you about the metrosexual green.

CM Gapps usually leaves it out because you can find it on the market. The maps itself is roughly 6.8MB.
I honestly don't know why you can't just get it from the market.

Yes.
My tablet, which is perfectly capable of running Google Maps and is doing so just fine with a previous version, absolutely refuses to find that Maps even exists in the Market.
At the link above, the Market won't install to my tablet because it thinks it's incompatible.
Our Nexus S's will find and install nearly anything in the Market with the exception of some tablet-only or other highly hardware-specific apps. That's far from the case with many other devices. Some devices have to be hacked just to access the Market at all.
So I found out my gtab wasn't taken away but just put away. I can't use it still but yeah...
Anyways I was downloading something from the play store and once done i rebooted. after that I had the new play store. That means the new one is rolling out for gtab! I have a P3113.

hmm... no clue. in any event, I reverted back to plain ol' stock debloated deodexed 4.1.2.
I'm new to this device. Came from a og dinc. I'm liking the device so far but I would really like to put cm10.1 on it. Anything I should watch out for when I root this thing?

As long as you have not taken the update in the past week, just use Matt's Utility in these forums to root/unlock (version 1.20 for 4.1.2). Nothing to it really.
How do I know if I took the update? I just got this device yesterday!

Post a screenshot of your about phone screen. Also, of you're asking about a build from May, I'm petty sure that's the update. The last one was from March.

Your device probably shipped with 4.1.1. DO NOT accept any updates that come your way
Please post a screenshot of your about phone screen.
Also, I would recommend you unlock your bootloader after rooting.

I've been rejecting an update recently.
My phone was built 4-5-13. Android 4.1.2
So it's safe to root? Keep rejecting the update? All I really want, for now, is superuser access. Well that, and to be able to turn off these stupid system updates lol.. But the last phone I rooted was a Dinc lol...
