This is specially meant for Stock kernel user which don't have kernel iptables function.
Android Firewall
It's a android firewall capable of blocking some app to reach the internet by redirect them to certain address.
It can only activated if only there is Iptables executable & some modules to support it's function.
It's command line configurable but it's way too complicated to us.
You'll Need:
A Sony Ericsson X8 Android phone. (Will work on X10, but not tested.)
Rooted.
Busybox.
CWM Recovery.
Instruction:
Flash this through CWM http://www.mediafire.com/?qcn1jlwilq9l57n
Goto /system/etc & Add those line inside ADD TO HW_CONFIG.SH.txt text file into hw_config.sh.
Reboot
Download Any (I Used DroidWall https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.googlecode.droidwall.free) to manipulated the iptables to block or allow your app to access the internet.
Say thanks to AnDyX who make this modules. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1184907)
I'm just doing the update zip for CWM that's all.
Note: Bootloops or error ARE LIKELY NEVER OCCURED. This is tested on Eclair 2.1.C.0.0 Rom (Offical Sony Ericsson rom for x8) and GDX Rom.
Whit this module i will have WiFi tethering in my Xperia X8 running on stock kernel with MiniCM7 ?
Link aint working

Do NOT flash it with CWM Recovery or xRecovery until CKKnot correct the install script else it will wipe your /system partition and phone won't reboot and you will have to reflash your device.

Redownload it if you not able to just now... And sorry for my mistake
That is really better
Thanks for your quick reply.

use some file menger like rootexplorer
Could you please be more specific with point 2?
Should I copy all lines (whole content) from ADD TO HW_CONFIG.SH.txt text file and paste them into hw_config.sh? At the end of this file? In some specific point? Nothing to replace in hw_config.sh?
Well, after first try my X8 seems to be bricked. Sony Ericsson logo after reboot
Everytime I turned on my phone or if it rebooted, I always get:
Android is upgrading
-----------------------------
Starting Apps.
I am on stock ROM, TWRP recovery, Faux kernel. I think this happens after I wiped dalvik/cache in the recovery. Any idea how to stop it? It's nothing very major though as it only takes a few seconds.
are you using any sound/volume mods? or any other flashable mods? i think awesomebeats dies this, at least others have complained about it wiping the dalvik after every reboot.

That's normal if you've wiped the Dalvik cache, and no you can't stop it.
Edit: so wait, this is happening even when you reboot normally after not wiping any caches or flashing a kernel?

yes.. and it updates apps after delvic wipe.. but in my case whenever i restart I see the "Android is upgrading" box for about 3-5 sec.. no update app progress bar.. and when I wipe delvic this upgrading apps takes like a min or so with my 150+ apps.. but this "Android is upgrading" dialogue box appears only for 3-5 sec..
I am using PA 3.99 with franco kernel.. once booted every thing inside is running smoothly and no fc's...
Same here. No odex files in app folder. No wipe, no cache clearing. Plain reboot. And Android is upgrading message on every boot. (Starting apps)
No optimizing apps message though.

Wouldn't it be related to "zipalign apk on each boot" parameter ? or an other init script put in place by a dirty flash (no /system or /data format) or a kernel... ?
Seems likely. Could you explain in detail kindly?

Have a look in the files located in this folder for example (maybe there's another location for init scripts) :
- /system/etc/init.d/
- /system/addon.d/
and open each one, to see what are the tasks contained

Removed the scripts present in init.d folder and then booted with empty folder, but message still present.
Checked the addon.d folder, but those scripts are only for backing up gapps etc.
Not sure where else to try. Please advise.
Thanks.

A pity that so much details are missing : what did you do before it happened ?
What's your set up ? rom, kernel ? after having update your rom ? kernel ? apps ? which versions ?
Did you try to revert to a clean install after having backup up your apps+datas ?

im sorry, just wanted the OP to know that he is not the only one with this "problem" by the way im rooted stock rom and kernel, some apps start up when i boot like nova launcher, lucky patcher sidebar and udn. But i am not looking for a fix for this as this does not take that long and i just said that to let the OP know that he is not alone with this "problem"
Sent from my Nexus 4
Ok guys,
Here's the solution. Don't flame me for talking about unholy stuffs. I'm posting this only because it is the cause of the problem.
If you are using LP or such tools to create .odex files of some app in /app folder. It won't cause any boot msg.
But after you dirty flash a ROM, that .odex files somehow gets backdated and causes the UPGRADING msg.
Fix is, delete the odex files, and re create them if needed. Once after every dirty flash.
Sent from my Nexus 4
I have found fix for this error, it is mainly due to odex files which are created by lucky patcher so deleting these files using lucky patcher itself will surely remove this error with 50 percent success rate. Here's the fix; open lucky patcher, there in lower left section you can see Toolbox, click that Toolbox then select 4th last option i.e Remove all odex files.Thats it android will reboot on itself and vola no android is upgrading. .
Check out attachment for help.

Using any file manager, goto System folder and edit the build.prop file.
Change ro.product.manufacturer to Baidu. Save the changes and reboot.
That should work.

BOYS I GOT IT!!!!!!!!!!! HERE IS THE FINAL SOLUTION FOR G.P.S. FC'S!!!
The problem is caused by libjavacore.so Arter released a fix for (what i think) lollipop releases only for info, DONT FLASH!. it forces a bootloop for 4.4.4.
BUUUUUUT Markox89 released this issue fixer but i was scared of destroying all optimzed libs and data from archidroid. so i copied Markox89s libjavacore.so aaaaaaaand it works!!!!
So step by step now:
1. download attached libjavacore.rar AND EXTRACT!!!!
2. Put the libjavacore.so somewhere on your phone
3. restart to TWRP (recovery)
4. make a nandroid backup (to be save if bootloop) --> full backup
5. open up mount and mount system
6. go to advanced and open file manager
7. now copy the new libjavacore.so (press on it and copy)
8. go to /system/lib
9. paste it
10. not sure if necessary but i pressed on libjavacore.so and sed chmod 755
11. reboot problem solved!!!!!!!!!!!
12. wipe data and cache from gps to avoid wakelock (go to settings-->apps-->g.p.s. (google play service)--> clear cache & manage space-->clear all data)!
13. install myandroidtools from playstore
14. reboot.
15. open myandroidtools --> services --> system
16. go to Google Play Services and google-services-framework and enable (make a tick at) at "System update service". (this will stop the google play services wakelock) BUT you need to tick it every restart. Keep on reading and you will find a solution to fix that automatically, but myandoidtools is nice to verify if it worked or not.
17. reboot. and your done
wakelock solution:
1. use boeffla kernel NOT THE NG (i9300 for 4.4.4 CM11.0 kernel - Stable )
2. enable init.d support in boeffla app under settings-->kernel start actions
3. download following script and put it in init folder like describted in Method #1: init.d Script
4. restart Phone
IF THAT DOESNT WORK and you still have update service wakelook. install universal init.d from playstore: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...sal.init.d&utm_source=//apk-freedownload.com/
You can check the wakelocks via wakelockdetector unplug your phone and wait at least 15 min.
now you never need to enable "System update service" after roboot by yourself
edit: after 4 months of use the error appeared again. couldn't fix it with doing the tutorial again. needed to reinstall my rom and did the tutorial afterwards. everything fine now
Hint: i dont get money for that information or anything else but try neatrom (the 4.4.4 version - AOSP) http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/development/rom-i9300-aosp-neatrom-v5-8-t2603155 its running like a charm. combine it with boeffla kernel omni
http://boeffla.df-kunde.de/sgs3/boef...omni11/stable/ and u have a way more stable system than we have with this patch (and way less wakelocks )

you got me wrong. i rwote "12. wipe data and cache from gps". that means go to settings-->apps-->g.p.s. (google play service)--> clear cache & manage space-->clear all data.
iam not sure what do you talk about in your second sentence. i have no idea why do you have a bootloop. only reason could be you downloaded arters libjavacore.so. As i wrote DO NOT flash his file, its for 5.1 (lollipop)

Dude you are using a Note II. you see this thread its posted in a Samsung galaxy s3 subforum
Try to look for a fix in the note 2 part of xda
but anyway, good to know that it's not working for note 2
My suggestion. check for a 4.4.4 note2 rom that fixed the gps error. download the rom, extract it on your pc. go to /system/lib and copy the libjavacore.rar. with that libjavacore.rar you try my fix.

My phone went into a bootloop as soon as I replaced the lib file. I didnt even get a chance to set permissions.
A flashable zip would be more helpful.
Also, I have already used the technique one time before to fix the error, but it reappeared again for some reason. So, a flashable zip would be easier than manually replacing a file every time the problem resurfaces.

- Back in Xperia i had the problem and solved it by replacing binary & mounting & unmounting lines and a lot of stuff, but now i'm doing to the same for Xperia Z1, and i've tried to take a working clone from working Aroma Mod, Still the same .
The Problem :
Aroma Installer is working well, everything is good, but when Installing comes in .. below it says " Installing " but in Installing Screen there are no " ui_print " lines or anything .. after 2 seconds it says installing complete, and when i press save logs .. it doesn't save anything .
Here's my META-INFO folder, Please help me ASAP : Press ME
That's a weird problem
Look deeper into it when I get home which is in an hour and maybe compare to my working aroma

It's top-weird problem .. i've got bored of it .. And this problem was the reason to stop me from using Aroma in my Mods.
Anyway, Waiting ..
OK, it seems good, okay your update-binary-installer is your addon's update binary right? It works, right?
If you want I can give you my aroma-config and updater-script?

Yeah, binary and re-named to installer, also tried Z1 Aroma Package, still the same .
I've already compared with a lot of working Aroma Installers .. but dunno where or what ( it's all good, so why the heck it's making this issue ? ) .
It doesn't print anything right? not even ur first line - "starting aroma"?

Not sure how its going.
OK let me tell ya how I am making my aroma installers, with yours, obviously its the install(); part that has some problem that it isn't executing updater script at all and save logs saves nothing.
In my case, say if there is a syntax error in the updater script, it would show empty, BUT save logs work and I can see where the error is...
I've based my installer from this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/themes/theme-material-theme-aroma-installer-t2902221
Maybe you wanna give a try (The material themes are AWESOME!)
Hope it can help, it isn't a thread by me, all credits to the thread OP

Have you maybe tried just create meta inf folder, create updater script that just print out some lines and test it works, edit aroma config bit by bit to suite your needs, testing it on phone every other time you change the code a bit?
