I have a stock, unrooted Nexus 4 which I got about 4 days ago. Up till now everything was working fine and then suddenly the Google Music app stopped showing any of my music other than the one music file I downloaded from within the phone. I don't know what went wrong.
The only thing that has changed has been me inserting sim card. I don't know if that did anything though.
I can still see all the music in the same "music" folder on my computer, on the airdroid app and the astroturf app.
I noticed some .nomedia files in the folders so i deleted all of them, cleared my cache and restarted my phone and that did nothing. So what seems to be the problem?
Thank You!
Update: Sorry, i seemed to have gotten it working by deleting the application data, force stopping and restarting. Thank You Anyways!

Okay so aube the official update came out I have done about 6 factory resets of my phone for one reason or another. My latest big problem wasn't fixed aster the last 2 resets. I have a permanent syncing icon next to the signal strength our wifi bars. Nothing appears to be
syncing. I went into my accounts and it said goggle was syncing the calendar sometimes and sometimes email. I turned off syncing everything and the symbol remains. I also tried restarting the phone with the signal remaining. I am clueless. I have push on and tried with out push. Any ideas?

Have you tried clearing the cache?
Had the same problem, but mine went away after a factory reset
Finally got rid of it. I did clear the cache this time again but I did try it before and still had issues. Now I don't know why my phone beeps and then vibrates when I turn the phone off. Also how do I restore a backup of locale. I did a back up but now I can't find out how to restore

My problem is the music player. Finally got the update about two days ago and the music player now glitches up and this sucks cause I've hard to reboot or remove the battery about 3 times in the last day and I workout about 2x's a day at least 45 mins to 1 1/2 each time so having this fixed for my music when I workout would be really helpful. It's the stock update and I haven't rooted or anything.

I am having the same issue. It seems that the SD card reader no longer works, because in addition to the music player not working the camera won't work either. It will take photos, but can't save them.
Has anyone found a solution to this problem? I also have stock updates. I am sort of a phone hack newbie, so...

New Atrix owner. Downloaded and installed the 'leaked' GB when it first came out, no rooting or unlocking.
Everything was fine until last night when all of a sudden my text notifications stopped. No sound and no notification light. I've checked, double checked and rebooted numerous times. Nothing helps.
I remember last night I was getting notifications from Google+ and so I turned those notifications off. Thought that might be it so I turned them back on, but still no text notifications. I had some music on my internal memory and recently purchased a 32GB SD card and put my music on that and so deleted the internal folder I had made for music. Thought maybe my ringtones were somehow in that folder and that is why no sound notifications, but all my settings check out. Am using Handcent for texts.
I'm at my wits end. Anybody have any ideas???
Thanks,
George
Just couldn't figure it out so tried uninstalling Handcent and put my settings into Go SMS Pro and notifications started working again.

Have you frozen anything with TiBu?
I've had my S4 for about a week now and only put music on it a couple of days ago (I had been waiting to get a micro SD card). It's a Fido SGH-I337M, 16 GB. I rooted it using Motochopper. There's a strange thing that keeps happening every time I pause an MP3. After pausing, when I try to unlock the phone from the lockscreen, it freezes up and crashes (happens every time). Sometimes it ends up rebooting.
Now, this only happens with MP3s. It does not happen with FLAC files. I've searched high and low on google for other instances of this and have found nothing. It seems like it's a software bug but I tried restoring to factory settings and it continued to freeze up. I tried unrooting it and had the same result. The crashes happen whether the MP3 is on the phone storage or on the SD card. It's not due to any of my downloaded apps, because after doing a factory reset I was able to recreate the MP3 crash before doing anything else to the phone.
Anyone know anything about this or can offer suggestions to try fix this? I'd like to try to resolve this before I take it in to get it exchanged.
Last night my phone was working perfectly and i didnt install any new apps yesterday so i dont know what caused this to happen...
At about 6am today i turned on my phone. it was all fine until i unlocked it. When i put in my pattern it unlocked and it showed a few of my icons for about half a second and then it came up with an error message saying that the launcher had crashed so i pressed "ok" and it came up again so i pressed "report" and then it said "market feedback agent has stopped" and went back to the launcher and came up with the first error again.
i was just thinking about a way of getting around all the errors to install a new launcher so then i could use my phone. i plugged in my earphones and used the button to start playing my music, then i unlocked my phone and quickly opened skype before the error came up again and then i went in my notifications and i could open Play Music from the notification, i had a notification for an app update so i clicked it and it opened the play store so i installed "go launcher ex" i tried going into my recent apps to change my song but it said "system ui" had crashed, i tried to get into my settings but that crashed too, i worked out that it was most of the stock apps and a few others like bbm that werent working.

I dont know what to do without losing everything? thank you for any help
rebooted already? This usually fixes a lot of probs.

This is happening to me to. I fix it by clearing the ram or closing all open apps. But it happens like once daily now. Any long term solutions?

same issue as here...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2513412
just different description... Just cleared google service framework data... will check back in on that thread after tomorrow morning and let you know if it works.
Same here. Bone stock and I don't even shut the phone off but overnight something happens to it and all apps crash. It sucks because it was my morning alarm but the clock app crashes without sounding the alarm.
If I reboot it will work perfect till the next morning, then all over again. Wiped and it still does it. Called it in and Google wasn't aware of anything so if you get this make sure and call Google so they know its widespread.
I cleared services framework and it solved it. So far, 2 days without infinite force closes

That did not fix it for me.
I got the infinite loop the next morning.
i tried re-booting but nothing happened, i had to go into recovery mode and reset my phone. now i wish i made a backup.
I haven't been getting those major crashes yet but after a while I can't open any apps or they "stop. " I think it has been happening ever since I returned to stock for the kit Kat update. Closing all the apps sometimes fixes it but that ruins my favorite part of the phone which is I can have all my stuff open all the time.

I'm still having this problem. Did everyone else fix it or did it just go away?

Hey, so today I restarted my phone and was greeted with the error "Damaged SD Card SD Card is damaged. Try reformatting it."
Obviously I didn't want to do that. So I decided to check it and popped it into my computer and everything works fine. Restarted my phone. Popped it back into my phone. Still doesn't work. I downloaded SD Insight to verify the legitimacy of the card (which I didn't think would be a problem since I picked up the Samsung Pro one at Fry's Electronics).
Just wondering if anyone else has run into this as of late and/or has a solution based on past experience? I was trying to avoid reformatting since it works fine on my computer and it's a lot of data I'd have to deal with putting back...thanks for any help in advance!
Oh. And it's a Samsun Pro+ 64GB card. If that helps.
Had this happen on my wife's mxpe. I had to back the SD card to my pc, format it then put everything back on it. When. Doing so I noticed there were about a dozen corrupt files. Not sure how or why it happened, butnita been 3 weeks now and it hasn't happened again!

I gave up and moved everything off, reformatted, and moved it back on.
Just wanted to note: this may or may not be related to something I noticed with my music. I have some Google Play Music that I downloaded to my computer and then moved to my phone (because I hate the way Play Music only lets you download the whole album). After a few weeks, I noticed my other music players (Phonograph and Black Player Music) would stop when those songs would queue up. It would say "this song could not be played" and just quit. Funny thing is, sometimes those songs wouldn't even show up on my SD card. TIt had been happening for a couple of weeks, which prompted me to restart my phone today (though not the first time I've restarted in the same time frame). Anyway. Weird.
