02. A rom you want to use

tried installing this rom above but stuck in loop comes to htc and then reboots by itself. any ideas on that ?

What's your /system partition size? Make sure it's enough for the ROM you're trying to flash. Since the other ROM you flashed worked I'm fairly sure it's not to do with radio or SPL version.

300mb over 45 mb . none of the roms worked that i tried to flash so far they are in bootloop. i think i have old recovery but how to update to new recovery ?

Do you have an EXT partition on your SD card as well? You'll need one of those if you don't. Also, flash a 285MB partition and change your cache size to 5MB, no ROMs use 45 as far as I know. Right now you're wasting 55MB of your internal storage because your partition sizes are too big.

i dont have a ext partition on my sd card. i did all that you said except ext partition but the rom wont load on top of that i dont know how to go back to complete stock as in windows by deleting magldr and everything else. plus how to update recovery from magldr ? some things im not able to understand even through guides its difficult.

No point going back to stock now. It really shouldn't be too tough provided that you read. I'd recommend using the toolkit:
1. Boot into MAGLDR
2. Choose 5. USB Flasher (or whatever number it is)
3. Run the Toolkit on your PC (you'll need admin rights)
4. Click MAGLDR Repartition and change the sizes to 285 and 5 cache
5. Connect your phone and flash
6. In CWM, go to advanced then partition SD card. Select a size you deem appropriate (I'd say 500MB or 1GB, ensure it's less than half the size of your SD)
7. Copy the .zip ROM to your SD card, preferably with a card reader
8. Flash in CWM
9. Reboot and see if it works

I would get another ROM and reflash it, whether it's a ZIP ROM (CWM) or a NAND ROM via DFT.

Well there's lots of good roms out there... they are all very easy to flash back and forth from. I hate to say which one is "better" than another as that is purely subjective and everyone has a differing opinion. However, it seems a lot of people really like Sergios, MDJ's and CMYXLGO's ROMs. As a start you may want to check out one of those... Here is a link to the main Android NAND forum.
I have
•HSPL3 ~ SPL-2.08.HSPL
•Radio that support 576 RAM
•DFT MAGLDR Bootloader
•ClockworkMod Recovery
Installed.
Can you send a link to a rom that supports clockwork? i dont realy care witch one just one that works. am e newbie in this just got the phone yesterday, and now i kinda afraid i cant fix it :/ :/

If it turns on and will boot to the bootloader, it's fixable So don't worry that much! Try out Sergio's ROM. It supports CWM. If you do use that one be sure to back up your SD card as you have to repartition it.
The steps to install it are:
Code:
HD2 COREDROID Desire HD V1
1. Extract downloaded zip to a folder of your choice
2. Copy contents of copy_to_sd_root (initrd.gz and zImage) to the root of your sd card
3. Boot into magldr and select USB Flasher option while phone is connected to PC
4. Run DAF.exe included in the zip and follow onscreen instructions.
5. After complete devise will reboot in magldr chose "Boot AD SD" option
6. Device will boot into Clockwork Recovery
7. Select advanced
8. Select Partition SD card (remember too backup all valuable data you have on SD Card)
9. Selet (minimum 512M)(maximum 1024M) Chose what fits best for you Recomended size 1024M
10.Select Swap 0M
11.Wait for the process too finish (do not restart device stay in ClockWork recovery)
12.Connect the Device into USB
13.select mounts and storage
14.select mount USB storage
15.Copy contents of copy_to_sd_root (initrd.gz, zImage) to the root of your sd card
16.Copy CoreDroid_HD_HD2_v*.zip to the root of your sd card
17.Press back key after finish
18.Press back key once more
19.Select install zip from sdcard
20.Select choose zip from sdcard
21.Select CoreDroid_HD_HD2_v* file and then confirm
22.Wait for it too finish
23.After flash options pop up again Press back Key
24.select reboot system now
25.Let it boot wait about +-10Min Enjoy
I haven't really examined the guide you followed that much, but make sure you have installed a recent version of Magldr (i.e. the one you can download in the official Magldr thread in the WinMo subforum, version 1.11 to be precise). The first version(s) have been notorious for the Gogogo! bug persistently affecting some users.
Just a fyi, ignore this if you already have this v1.11
I got the aMagldr V1.11
The rom you sendt me doesnt work, it stopps here:
Run DAF.exe included in the zip and follow onscreen instructions.
i allredy installed a Daf.exe can that be the problem?

No, because it's not really an installer, but a flasher. I'm not really an expert on the CWM issues, but it seems to me like formatting your SD card(do a full format, not the quick one) might help you, since it's quite probably your SD card being the *****.
It may not help you, but if you've got a few minutes I'd say give it a shot. Don't forget to backup important SD (NAND isn't affected) first of course!
Oh, and there's also this small chance that your CWM download is corrupt. Not sure if that would give the gogogo error though.
Sorry for being a complete newb, but how do i do the hard format?
but do i need the DAF.exe to install the rom?
You'd have to format in Windows (which I assume is the OS you're running), which now that I think of it may be a bit of a problem. I don't think you can mount your SD card with Magldr, which means that you'd have to use an external card reader. If you don't have that, you'd have to reflash WinMo to format, but since that's quite some more work for something that I can't even guarantee to be a solution you might wanna hold on to other suggestions.
DAF.exe is the tool which flashes CWM to your phone. Some other tools and/or ROMS use the same name for their flasher though.
after this one :
8. Select Partition SD card (remember too backup all valuable data you have on SD Card)
9. Selet (minimum 512M)(maximum 1024M) Chose what fits best for you Recomended size 1024M
10.Select Swap 0M
i can't do **** i cant open the device in windows. is there no way i can just system recover the whole device? or do i have to rom it?..
realy need this to be working, prefer android but windows is okey

It sure is no brick, as long as you can boot into bootloader (turn on phone while keeping volume down pressed) there's no problem at all. No need to return it either.
If you feel really desperate try the WinMo thing, you've got nothing to lose except for about 30 minutes of your time.
winmo thing? is there any guide?
if i download a format program i can format the sd card..
1. Flash WinMo, this should be no problem in bootloader
2. I think it's possible to format your SD card within WinMo. I've never used WinMo actually so I can't give instructions on that.
If you can't find it or if it isn't possible, mount your SD card so you can see it in Windows. Backup data if necessary. Then right click on it (in Windows), and choose format, then disable quick format which should be selected by default. After the format you should have a clean SD card.
4. Flash Magldr again, following instructions in the official Magldr thread. Download a new copy off xda, to eliminate the possibity of just having had a corrupt download.
6. Flash CWM, following instructions in the official CWM thread.
7. Flash ROM.
Edit: I used WinMo where I meant the mobile OS, and Windows where I meant the pc OS.
I did format the SD card, nothing new just that CWM disapeard.
Now its loading with aMagldr v1.11
And i Have Spl-2.08. Hspl 8g Xe
Can anyone send me a link to a good Win 6.5 rom and anykind of guide?

Stops after GO GO GO at first boot

Hi
I have tried to install android on my phone and after a few attempts I finally got to the step where to install Android which works fine.
But after first boot it is written that it may take upto 20 minutes.... I have tried with different kernels with same results.... it simply stops after GO GO GO then it comes to the android screen and nothing happens... I have tried to let it be for 5 hours... still no reaction!
What I do is to copy the .zip file to my SD card and go to to the boot menu and coose "Install from zip file on SD card".
Any good ideas how to solve it?

You need to provide more details for folks around here to reply. Ie:
1. Which model are you using - LEO512 or LEO1024
2. Which MAGLDR was flashed. Version 1.13? Because earlier version had the freeze at GOGOGO! problem.
3. Which android build did you use (DAF build type or CWR type?)
Only then we can even start to suggest what to do to help you
Wait....Are you using builds that requires SDCards to be partitioned? If yes, did you partition as required?

Mate,
I experience that too. I think not all ROM can be successfully boot.
My suggestions is either try reflashing or find another ROM that works for your HD2.

Thats odd.... I only know that the experience may vary across different units (ie: wake-up lag, power drain, etc). Never have i heard that not all builds can be successfully booted. I still think the problems has to do with settings (i.e.: config.txt, NAND partition layout, SD Card partition size and formats etc).
If you have a prob with the builds, please specify clearly which version and your configurations. Only then folks here can advice accordingly....
can't hurt...
task 29, WM6.5 rom installation, magdlr installation then flash the rom again
make shure you created ext partition on SD if required for making work the ROM (check its trhead)....
Do a fresh installation(Format SD->Task 29->Flash Radio->Flash MAGLDR->Flash CWM->Flash ROM from zip using AD recovery option in MAGLDR.. Maybe you are using an incompatible radio?
if i have this problem, i flash windows back (LEOIMG.nbh is always on my sdcard).
this will help me.
after one "no-function"-flash dont try an other flash by the same config like the config before.
I think that problem is in kernel . you trying kernel for new desire, use for N1.

All with same result
I have tried to do the sd partition... .actually with 2 diffent cards but I have never been able to have 2 partitions.... I alway ends up with 1 partition on 2Gb

i guess you did a ROM flash through clockworkmod? if so, did you flash the correct partition sizes (sense roms need often about 400mb /system partition). If not you need to find the 400mb clockwork recovery in this forum.
If you flashed a rom via DAF, please disregard this.
also please post in the correct forum (Q and A would be correct for this topic i believe)

I'm not sure what you ask me about. But no on my phone my call buttons is black and gray
By using panasonic formatter I only format... but the card is on 8Gb so guess I need to make a partition.
Mini partition tool doesnt work correct it report errors as soon as I ftry to format etx3
If your phone has T-mobile on top and buttons are colored red & grees - its LEO1024.
If all grey without any logo on its case/housing - then its LEO512/EURO model.
difference is the NAND size. LEO1024 has 1GB and LEO512 has 512MB.
Peter,
I'll quickly write the outline here, hopefully it helps. But detailed guide on each subject has been posted numerous times here. Please look for them.
Outline to get RAFDROID up and running (Based on your post, im assuming yours is LEO512)
1. Flash MAGLDR 1.13 (this involves entering tricolor screen and flashing like good'ol WM6.5)
2. From MAGLDR, choose USB Flasher mode (Option 4 i think...) and flash Clockwork Mod Recovery with 400MB layout. (this is important, wrong layout will cause bootloop and androd will not boot)
3. Assuming you have 2GB microSD card - Use a memcard reader and connect it to your PC. Dont use mass-storage option from MAGLDR. Launch Minitool Partition and create 1GB FAT32 Primary partiton followed by 1GB EXT3 with 4096 block size primary partition. This process is not as complicated as it may sound
4. Put the downloaded RAFDROID CWR zip file into the FAT32 partition. (When the partitioning is complete, windows will only see 1GB in your microSD. The 2nd 1GB EXT3 partition will only be available to android, so dont worry about it)
5.Once done, pop you microsd in your LEO, and choose Recovery option from menu. Once you enter the recovery menu, choose Install from ZIP file and choose the RAFDROID zip file that you have just put in.
6. Wait, and choose reboot. Whole process should be about 20 min.
7. Enjoy your android
Guys, please add anything if i missed out any steps

Very confused user........HTC HD2 + MIUI

Hi guys,
I have read this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1021837
I am using a HTC HD2 (international version)
I would like to know if it's possible to do the following?
- boot MIUI (http://www.miui.com/download.html) from SD card
From what I have read about MAGLDR, it seemed that I can copy MIUI to SD, and select option 2 in MAGLDR...........
Quoted:
Option #2
Boot AD SD, this will in the future allow you to boot Android from your SD card, but as for now it is not working just yet. This option also allows you to boot other Android specific software such as Clock Work Mod Recovery(CWM) that you have placed specific files for on your SD card. This option is not really needed for CWM as you no longer have to place files for it on your SD card you can flash it straight to NAND.
But it seemed that I need to burn MAGLDR into my phone, which I am afraid of bricking it............
Could someone let me know if I have the whole concept wrong?
Is it possible to run Haret after booting into Win6.5 to run MIUI (http://www.miui.com/download.html) from SD?
i think these tutorials answered by questions............but still a bit afraid to brick my phone..........
http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile/what-is-magldr-and-how-to-install-and-use-it-on-htc-hd2/
http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile/how-to-boot-android-from-sd-card-of-htc-hd2-with-magldr/
You can boot Miui in Winmo via SD. (using haret)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=969661
If you follow the instructions, you probably won't brick your phone by installing magldr.
I didn't want to use MIUI in SD format as no1 is doing it now:
Quoted:
SORRY I will stop to release any MIUI mods , including SD/MAGLDR version, owing to some unhappy things, check here:http://www.miui.com/thread-59240-1-1.html

Sorry, noob question............
check which thread?..............
I've burnt the 400MB version...............
The thread of the rom you are trying to install.
Oh! Okay, I thought making it a bigger size will allow it to have more access to disk space for it's OS + programs, okay, I'll look into this area
How bigger the CWM partition, the bigger the OS space, which you can't use for apps.
But I can choose to install apps in SD card?
A closer look @ http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=11894125#post11894125
and I figured that it's running MIUI from SD which is not what I wanted?
I want it to flash into my NAND...............
That one is running from NAND. Follow his tutorial to get it running.
hmmmmmmm, okay.........let me try it again...........
Was doing the CMW thingy,
It failed with:
USB Init Failed...........
The thing is I have 1.3 of CMW, and the tutorial wants me to flash a v1.2 of CMW
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=898913
Eelkede, from his post (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=11894125#post11894125)
can you tell which size of CMW should I flash?
I might go here to reflash the correct size (v1.3 instead of v1.2)

btw, I used this to help me flash..............
http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile...kmod-recovery-on-android-htc-hd2-with-magldr/
150 mb is enough (you can edit it to a lower number, but let's just start normal)
Follow the Instructions you posted.
Put the .zip of the ROM on your sd card
Reboot phone, open the CWM (AD Recovery).
Select: Install Zip from sd card, find the .zip, install. Let it boot (it can take a while, just leave it).
Optional: Install (same way as rom) Language pack, reboot.
Done.
Oh! I used http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile...kmod-recovery-on-android-htc-hd2-with-magldr/
and flashed to 250MB and it's working now!
One thing I noticed; I was using Win6.5 + loading MIUI from SD using Harret, and this is faster than the one I had loaded in NAND..........
You mean it loads faster? or does it handles faster (in android)?
Could be, always reboot a few times before making a final judgement. You can try overclocking your device.
Glad I could help, have fun with MIUI on your device!

[Q] CWR

Hi all. Please forgive the noob questions.
Question #1. I was under the impression that CWR is better than DAF because it allows you to have different ROMS on your sd card and thus you can change your ROM as you like. My question is then if I have to task 29 and reformat and repartition my card as the developers request, then how is this possible as I would be wiping my sd card clean everytime I do this.
Question #2. Must I run the DAF(recovery) prior to every change in ROM? Also what is the differecnce between the Recovery and partitioning your card. Again I am not experienced even though I flash all the time.
The reason I ask is that I would like to change ROMS and wonder if I can just go from my cureent ROM, reboot and install from zip a totally different one that I have on my card. Thanks in advance.
you dont have to task29 every time., i have never used task29 and never had any issues with repationing or installing roms
the repartitionining is a pain but thats mainly only if you are going from 1 type to a different type e.g a sense rom to a cm7 or miui rom

Hi,
As Richy99 says ,task 29 is not necessary for every change of ROM.
To simplify matters, ksubedi has developed THIS TOOL (Don't forget to thank him)

So I can just repartition the card and not have to run Recovery(DAF in the rar)? Then istall from zip? I am going from a sense to MUI.

Hi,
You only need to partition the sd card once.
But the ROM system needs its own partition(CWM).
This partition is dependent on the ROM .
The [OP] should give the size of the partition, depending also on EU or TMOUS phones.
Again, once you know the partition size, use THIS TOOL to make it easy.

Thanks again for helping out. So I would need a comp to always run the recovery. Is it possible from the phone itself or am I just hoping and dreaming? You did clear up one thing for though. That both the card and rom need a partition with the ROM partition being the recovery file (DAF)in the rar.. Thanks.

Hi,
With HD2 you will never get away from PC/laptop,like on a native ANDROID device.
Check out the toolkit. It saves a lot of configuration...

Need Help with HD2 storage/Partitioning

Hey guys, I;m appealing for a little help here.
I have an HTC HD2 which has been great for about a year but all of a sudden it has problems.
I;ve been using this rom pretty much since it came out....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905060
I;ve never had any problems with it untill now. I started to get the "insufficient storeage space available" message on it so I assumed a restore/reflash would solve the problem.
I used HD2 toolkit to resize my MAGLDR partition to 450MB & reflashed - the phone wouldnt boot. Stuck on the HTC logo.
Repartitioned to 400 - still no boot!
Repartitioned to 350 - still no boot!
Repartitioned to 300MB - phone now boots however now, I;ve installed no apps & when I try to install spotify, its telling me insufficient storeage available, again! With nothing on the phone except the ROM!
I'm a bit of a n00b with all this stuff, but had my HD2 running fine for ages & its frustrating me that now it wont work properly!
Anyone care to help? THanks, Cardz.
Edit: im using MAGLDR 1.13 & the latest Clockwork mod to flash the ROM. I'm wiping cache & data partitions every time...... :/
Install it with as lower as possible space for system partition. In your case it shoud be 135MB of system partition and 2MB cache but I recommend to put some more of space for system partition as I had some problems with low system partition so you can put 150MB for system partition.
The simple explanation of why you dont have enough of space for apps is that you gave too much of space for system partition and simply this ROM does not require that much of space for system partition. And other space left in your phone memory will be used for apps etc.
EDIT: And also try to install MAGLDR and CWM manually if you can and when you install CWM edit flash.cfg in WordPad or other text editing tool before you flash CWM and edit system partition size to 150MB and Cache size to 2MB

Thanks a lot for the reply, i understand now about the 150MB/2MB cache, but what is the point of this other bit? Could you explain more the purpose of this?>

Well to simply explain you why i wrote you to use manual installation of CLOCKWORKMOD RECOVERY was that I wanted to explain you how is it working with partitioning your nand memory using cwr or magldr. I just added some helpfull info for you from my experience with HD2 and android flashing. So in the future you will know what to do and you will be able to uderstand more from technical point of view about flashing etc. I just wanted.to share some of my experience with you
But it is up to you if you want to use hd2 toolkit or manual configuration.

You can also use 4ext recovery instead of clockwork...

Afaik it's better to post in a similar topic than create a new one, so here I go.
I have recently switched to an ICS NAND rom and since then I keep having constant storage problems. I understand that in order to solve that I have to partition my SD card but it seems, since I don't really understand the whole android storage management process too deeply, I am not doing things properly cause I keep getting "Low on space" notifications. I attach some screenshots below in order to give you more info about my sd card partitions and rom specs. Please let me know what I did wrong and how I can solve it. I understand I will probably need to repartition and reflash the devide again?
Edit: The screenshots I have attached don't have 2nd part mounted, going to upload proper screens in a minute. Done.
Edit 2: Will this fix my problems?

You are mixing different things. In the first post of this thread the issue was the partitioning of the internal Flash-ROM in the Phone.
You wrote about the SD card partitioning and these things are totally different.
I think, you have a problem with your internal memory and you have to try the same things like cardyology has done after the hint from jan.selep.
Partitioning for Ubuntu's users
I don't find the way to modify partitioning of the internal Flash-ROM when you are an Ubuntu user on PC (no Windows boot anywhere..)

If you use cLK instead of magldr you can repartition from the cLK bootloader, , no PC necessary.
Before you say 'I cant install cLK without a PC', there is a version of cLK you can flash from sd card.
It will mean you have to resinstall your rom, though.
I believe more simple to find a Windows PC...
dont see why it should take any more than 25 minutes to accomplish, properly prepared.

Hummmm because the Murphy's law? :crying:
I found a Windows PC, I downloaded the HD2 Toolkit... but not the good one, because the last version don't works with 32 bits PC. So, I found the good one, I saved all my stuff, I tried to repartition and... I miss a dll and other bull****... 2 hours later, I thought is too long to be good and I sought a lighter ROM (I understood Hyperdroid CM7 has a 150 Mo system partition : it's very short!), but, I found nothing with ICS or JB, only GB... pfff.
So, I took a week to flash ROM, I read miles of thread, hours to understand how my device working and each time I found a solution, each time I have at less a new issue to solve. It pissed me of.
