I had flashed Jellybean 4.2.2 ROM (CM 10.1-20130306 KonstaKANG) on my DELL XCD 35, everything has been working fine except the voice recognition in Google Search (Google Now) and the voice recognition on default keyboard is not working. I had installed the GApps ( gapps-JB-20130307 KonstaKANG).
When I tap the Mic in Google search, it does not start flashing red, as it does when it listens, but it says "Sorry didn't catch that. Retry"
The same is the case with the voice input in stock keyboard. But when I type whatever I wanted to speak, Google Now works.
The Voice Search App works perfectly, whereas voice recognition in Google Search and stock keyboard does not work (works in other keyboards).

i recently put CM7_HoneyComB_V57 on my HD2. its my first real go with android and so far its proving to be great. the only thing i have found is i cant get voice to work with the text messaging. i downloaded google search and voice works fine with that and it works fine with vlingo too from the market, it just will not work with normal text app, the microphone pops up but has a line through it showing it is now working. is there any way to enable it or get it working please?
just so others might find it helpful in future... i solved this problem by installing Winphone7 Ginger Keyboard and now it seems to be working fine.
Hello all,
My continuous voice input used to work well with the stock ROM, until I installed Janjan's deodexed lite ROM.
I couldn't find anything in the add-on aroma package for this ROM/
May I know how I can get Google Voice Typing to work?
I installed Google voice search but what I'm looking for it continuous voice input... the one that types as you speak in realtime.
Thanks
Odd problem.. I installed a stripped down rom, and now i have no Google voice to text. I installed Google keyboard, and Google search, however no Google typing option in the input settings. Is there an apk i can install to fix this?
after spending all day looking for the solution, I would find the answer 10 minutes after posting about it lol
seems I was missing plain old Google on my phone, found it in the App Store download it and it works like a charm now.
It used to work, but not since I have google installed with voice detection.
I have searched around the internet for reasons why, and made sure I have svoice apk installed.
I have switched off google with voice detection but still the camera voice commands will not register.
thanks for the help
Have you tried installing Google search to see if Camera voice functions return? For me Google voice can cause various issues with the functionality of my phone, depending on their updates. Personally I always such with the version that comes with my firmware because I suffer issues with their latest builds. Google just don't seem to test backwards compatibility.
Anyone having issues with the Google app? At 1st when I got the phone with stock app versions, "Hey Google" was working fine. But since I updated the app... (Regular & Beta versions) the only way to make it work is by pressing the microphone icon. (thru widget or app itself) But it never works via voice command (by saying Ok Google/Hey Google) Any ideas? It simply doesn't work. (Using Stock Launcher/ Nova Launcher/ Any Launcher & cleared app cache/data) Thanks.
Solution
Works fine for me, using lawnchair v2 though I doubt that makes a difference. Maybe retrain voice?
Works fine for me on stock launcher. Just tried it and woke up every Google device in the living room including my OnePlus 7T Pro 5G McLaren and Google Home Hub. I'd say retrain your voice to it.
I'm actually having the same issue and idk why either lol, worked fine out of the box and then I updated and it no longer works lol
I had to delete and retrain my voice recognition profile before "hey google" kicked in again.
Reboot device and force close google with clear data and retrain google voice pet ? working fine
Found a solution...
Settings > Security & lock screen > Smart Lock > Voice Match > and enable "Access with Voice Match"
Finally Ok Google / Hey Google working 100%
Finally!
