When I wanted to check the status of my tablet, it decided to shut down with the warning that the battery was empty, but it was in the charger.
Now; it refuses to charge, only blinking the LED with little to no strength at all.
Might it be that the battery has been discharged completely, even though it was and is in the charger?
Is it cold in your room? Try to warm the device with fan heater or put it in front of the air conditioner to warm it up. Its a known problem of Gen8 devices. If its not the problem I'm clueless.

Only used the adapter sector charger to charge the tab correctly.
My tab can be charged by computer USB port, they haven't the power required to charge the tab.
Try to connect the tab during 2 hours.

He uses USB ports to charge his tab. He must use the charger gives by Archos, not others one.

It could be that the battery is dead. Nothing visual to see at your A43? In my experience when the battery brakes it blowes up a little, you should see some gaps or a bolded back. I had that with one battery of my 101 luckily the 101 has two so I removed the defective one.
@Mavasilisk a43 should be able to be powered from standard usb. However you need a "working" battery else it won't start. By working I mean it needs to supply a minimal voltage to the hardware. So you cannot just remove the battery and power it with only usb. Atleast this is the case with my old gen5 (605), gen7 (a5it) and my gen8 (a101it)

I am not sure if anyone else is experiencing this but I am seeing that i'll charge my phone for somewhere between 5-8 hours using the original wall charger and cable but it will not fully charge. It gets to about 70-80%. Is this happening to anyone else?
Any other details? Rooted? ROM?

5-8 hours is definitely not normal. It fully charges from 0 to 100% in 3h 45min Max and even that is a little bit of a stretch. For me its more like 3hours.

Stock everything. It's happened about 4 nights now.
I find that sometimes my stock charger detects as USB instead of AC. You can see if it is charging that way in the battery details in the settings. When it is stuck on USB it is way slower.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
Yeah and if you want it to charge a little bit more faster you turn off the device
Check about phone, make sure it says Charging (AC) and not Charging (USB). If it's USB then thats the reason why, use another charger.
My stock charger that came with N4 went to USB but then for some reason, after I replugged it, it went to AC and has been AC ever since.

Wow, glad I found this thread. I was wondering what the cause of this was, as well. I've been using my GNex charger since it switched over.
Does Nexus 7 run directly from USB or charger power when connected to USB cable? Or is it so that the device continues to run on battery while the battery is simultaneously being charged? This is an issue related to the longevity of the battery. The easiest way to test this is to try and run the device on DC power while the battery has been removed. I have neither the tools nor the guts to check this out. Suggestions from anyone and everyone are welcome.

Battery settings shows "X" seconds on battery and that X never changes if the tablet is connected(to PC/charger), no matter what you are doing. I connected the tablet to PC front panel USB, switched it on, it showed 100% charged and 0s on battery. Now I fired up Stability Test and after an hour or so battery settings showed 95% charging, 0s on battery. Your and my findings establish a point, i.e. The USB power provides direct power to the tablet upto a certain wattage, beyond which- as in case of a demanding load- the battery also/solely provides power. The battery is always being charged in background if it is not already fully charged.
I've had my Nexus 4 for about 2 weeks now and currently it is taking a ridiculously long time to charge. It has been hooked up with the original USB to Micro-USB cable for about 3 hours at it went from 12% to 8% (wtf...) to 10% now and hasn't moved for the past hour. Someone help please

I'm not entirely sure wether this is a "good" answer but are you charging by USB meaning plugged in your computer or laptop?
Because I've had it with several phones that if you put it in your laptop it doesn't charge or very very slowly. In the PC it goes faster but not as fast as straight from the wall.
Try plugging the charger in a wallplug, see if that helps? And also if you really want to charge by PC, flash a kernel (see Franco's thread) and put it on "Fast charge USB", then it should go at the same speed as wallcharged. (dunno how on stock rom)
-------------
If you meant that you've charged by plugging it into the wall in OP, then I'm sorry, I don't know Or just a faulty charger.

Do you have a custom kernel installed? Maybe there is a faulty setting in there. Worst case scenario is RMA, but try having the phone plugged in and then power the phone down. Once it's off, press the power button (don't hold it) and see if a battery animation comes up. If it does, then keep it plugged in for a few hours and see if it charges any faster...
try a different cable. For me, the cable went bad. when connected to the oem wall wart, my phone would sometimes be charging USB, sometimes A/C. After changing the cable (not the wart), always charges A/C now.
Install a battery utility and verify how much current it is drawing.

Mine is 2 to 2 and a half hours.
Which battery and/or charger are you using? After coming from the S2 I have noticed a large decrease in charging time with my S4, so this is very surprising to me.

...*facepalm*. You're not using original charger and you're complain that the one you use doens't works so well? Do you know that original charger is pulling 2000mA out, while your usb-port is pulling between 300mA and 500mA (depends if it front or back usb-port and the quality of usb port). Do the math, 2600mAh battery and 300mA / h. Full charge should take: 2600:300 = more than 8.5 hours.
With original charger S4 recharges from 0 to 100 in 1h 49minutes. If you take a solar charger it will charge even slower (like 48 hours for 0-100%).
Next time try to use your brain before complaining.

Your Samsung power brick has the cable physically attached to it? If not, you can just use a longer cable with the Samsung power supply.
The included power supply is 2 Amps, whoever is getting long charging times, make sure you use either the original Samsung power supply, or comparable in amperage supply.
Mine charges in 2 and a half hours.
Mine takes 2 to 2.5 h to charge from 0 to 100 percent. You should only use the new white charger, it's more powerful than the black one from s3, it's output is 2.0A ,old one is only 1.0A. Newer use other chargers as they may mess up your battery or phone.

Is it safe to get a higher Amp charger, the one that the iPad uses to charge my S4? No drawback execpt for a faster charging time right?

Take it this way, grilling meat takes for example 45minutes to cook completely. You take it to some powerful furnace like 2000degrees for 5minutes then what do you expect from it to give you back? Well cooked meat or some burned meat outside and maybe raw inside?

put it this way... the s3 comes with a 700ma charger. it charges a bit slow. and has a 2100mah battery.
the s4 comes with a 2 amp charger. thats 2000ma. it doesnt charge slowly if you use this charger. i personally am going to pop it on this charger when i get home from work and then keep it on my 700ma charger overnight... no reason to waste that powerful output, it will simply waste electricity.
make sure:
1. you use the charger that came with it
2. you use a cable thats as long as (or shorter than) the stock charging cable. longer usb cables tend to charge the phone slower.
also keep in mind usb ports charge any phone slowly. the s4 will charge even slower on them because the battery is oversized compared to most.
I'm using note 2 charger and if I surf Web while charging, literally it is not charging at all.. battery is not going up or down.. Note 2 was not like this.. i could charge battery even if I play 3d game..

That's a sign of a bad battery or a problem with the charger or USB cable. If you have any old chargers and jab cables lying around (even if not QC3.0) try one of them. If that still doesn't fix it, then you have a defective battery.
