Should I be worried?

I went to check something on my galaxy s but it wasn't responding. I tried holding the power button and tried to get it into recovery and download mode but nothing happened.
I then removed the battery and put it back in and it turned on as normal.

Known sleep-to-death problem. It happens on all ROMs I have tried on my phone. Happens more after a phone call. I was recently on holydays on another country and turned phone off, to use the SGS as a GPS navigation device only and I could suspend and resume it and use the GPS all day and it does not hang.
Just make a call, let it go to sleep and it may not wake up when you press the home or power button.
You don't have to remove the battery, just press the power button 10 seconds, phone will reboot.

I didn't make a call though. I was just on facebook then went back to the homescreen and locked my phone using lock screen widget which I have been using for months without a problem. A minute later I went to unlock it and it wouldn't respond. I tried holding the power button for atleast 8 seconds n nothing.

Pile of ****. Does NOT happen on all roms. It may happen on all roms you flash. More likely a problem with your phone, or user error.
Post the roms and your route to flashing, and then we will be able to advise.

Phone is leaving silent mode by itself. Constantly!

Having issues the past couple of days, my phone is leaving silent (or vibrate only in fact) mode by itself. At first I thought the volume up key was being pressed in my pocket but I've had it sitting on a desk for an hour and it's left silent mode, so now i'm sure it's an issue with software rather than tight jeans... Anyone have any ideas?
Running VR2.4.2

Update: it's now doing it every 5 mins or so. It gives a tiny vibrate then the vibration icon disappears... Has anyone else experienced this?

What screen locker are you using?

Bad contact in the volume button?

I thought about a physical problem but i left it alone for a while after it jumped out and it didn't turn up the volume again. I'm not using any special lockscreen, i have winamp controls when winamp is on but that's it. Any other ideas? I could just reflash I guess but it's bugging me not knowing the issue

Solution for the problem
Hi,
I had the same issue with my Galaxy Nexus but i found a way to solve the problem not permit solution but by using app called " Volume Locker " which will force the device to turn the volume up once it goes silent by sudden.

I had this.Rebooted and it was fine afterwards.

Try using a different rom (dont restore all the apps, might be some volume control or music app doing it) , if the problem still exist then its hardware issue.

Most likely an app is causing this problem...
If you are rooted, make a nandroid, then do a full wipe.
If the bug is fixed you know an app is causing it restore the nandroid and uninstall apps one by one untill its fixed

I had the same iussue with RR 3.0.6. Maybe is related to your custom rom, try changing it.

Phone keeps vibrating even after setting change

Hi everyone, I recently changed my rom to cyanogenmod 7.1.0 everything seems to be working fine except for this whole vibrating issue. I have the setting set for off. It vibes when I get a call and when I get notifications. With my hanging with friends app, all I get is the vibe and no sound.
Can someone please help me out?

Try turning the phone off , pressing the volume up and down at the same time and holding the red button for 5 seconds this will do a factory reset of your phone

Touch stops responding after sleep

Hi I am running CM7 and sometimes after I wake the device up the screen simply does not respond to my touches. The device is not frozen the home keys and all will work and you can use the volume keys, but since you can't click on the power menu if you bring it up, you have to do a hard reboot. It does this fairly often but not every time. Any ideas?

That is the sleep of death issue. turning off wifi before or using a wifi management program will help. Also, the latest CM7 has the problem slightly less. Check it out.

A Black screen all of a sudden

I was casually using WhatsApp when the screen suddenly glitched for 2-3 seconds and then everything went black.
I googled the problem and apparently found out that this is called BLACK SCREEN OF DEATH. I've tried all the possible fixes including rebooting while pressing volume down and power button.
Only the led lights are flickering sometimes.
I am on rooted Android 9. I am using CR DROID 5.8 ROM .
Please help me !
(also I haven't flashed anything recently)
