Sorry, but what kind of a question is this? You mean word prediction?
No I m talking about the ability which iPhone has to define a selected word in terms of its meaning ...
When you select a word using an iPhone you have the ability to define this word ...
I hope to be understood now...
If you mean adding a word/phrase to your personal dictionary (for auto-correct, etc):
Settings > Language & input > Personal Dictionary > "+" (add)
Edit: Seems you're looking for the actual definition of a word, posts below mine have answered that already.

You might look in Google Play for such an app. I couldn`t say right now. It is not build into android afaik at the moment.
Just type or say Define "word" in the Google search bar

First, click the Search button. (But don't put your search terms in there!) Instead, click "Or use the built-in forum search".
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Next, click in the bottom right box and type 'nex' on your keyboard. This will restrict the search to the Nexus One forums. Click a specific forum if you want to search only a specific one.
Then click Show Results as -> Posts.
Enter your search keywords (root, desire, apps, etc), and select "Search Entire Posts" from the dropdown.
Finally, click Search!

As much as forum regulars anywhere like to highlight the search-function it still works horribly. Utterly useless. Everywhere, including here.
Instead what I suggest people do first is google (keyword 'g' in my browser) :
g site:forum.xdadevelopers.com guide how to search
Bonus: you get to refine your search with a new one immediately, no need to wait 5-10-30 seconds or however long the forum requires newcomers to wait.
Bonus: familiar search interface, with well known syntax
Great!

Is there an app or something where I can change the order of my applications on my Desire? At the moment they are sorted alphabetically but I wish to sort them in the order I want.
Is this possible?
Also, is it possible I can change the applications screen so there are pages where I can slide left to right instead of just one page where I slide up and down?
Thanks.
I would love a launcher with the "drawers" from iOS4, so you could have games in one, settings and tools in one, and media apps in another..

Btw, i don't care much for iOS, so don't flame me for posting a screen from it.

There's a home app called iHome. Pretty much an iPhone rip, but has some pretty good screen anims.
Or, get an iPhone 4?

this not a launcher but "apps organizer" does exactly what that screenie shows
Thanks will take a look.
Apps Organizer doesn't offer what the OP asked, only what the second poster asked for (I use it).
I've also been looking for being able to rearrange the app order for months.

Long press the bar and edit it as you see fit.
Thanks a lot!
Am I missing something? I don't get any way to edit the bar if I hold down on it. It just glows, and when release it goes to the store.

I believe the OP is talking about this:
The bar at the bottom that says featured and Amazon. It annoys me too and I would like to get rid of it.

Hi all,
I was wondering. I would like to see an unlock screen with 6 (or 9/12) small pictures/icons in random postions. The user can make up a small story so he would know in which order he should slide/swipe to the different pictures to unlock the phone. Also a nice feature would be if the usere could pick the pictures which would be displayed on the lockscreen. The position of the displayed pictures/icons should always be random to ensure security.
Is there something like this out there for android??
Regards, RR69
I think it's too easy and fast to solve. Why not a lockscreen with something like this to solve?

this is what it looks like on the N7
i've tried Chrome, Maxthon and Dolphin browsers, both mobile and desktop modes and it doesn't seem to render the page correctly...i haven't accessed the site in quite a while, but it all used to work on Gingerbread and Honeycomb...i don't have an ICS device to test with, my Galaxy Nexus is also on JB and it also displays the page incorrectly
i'm wondering if there is some setting i need to enable (thought i've tried everything) or if it's just the site itself that's messed up
Here's what it looks like on mine using the stock Chrome browser:

thanks for checking...though it doesn't really help me because i too am using the stock Chrome browser, at least now i know that it's not like that for everyone and the problem is at my end
are you rooted? i am...is there any reason that may make a difference?
Not rooted, no, and don't know what difference it could make. Though I wouldn't expect any browser to work particularly differently on a rooted device, but I'm no expert.
