HTC One vs iPhone 5 drop test! (video) - One (M7) General

http://www.androidauthority.com/htc-one-vs-iphone-5-drop-test-179938/
ohhh my god

Nice! This video has not been posted twice already.

HTC did much better than I expected. I thought the aluminum case would make it break easier.
They actually had to do a fourth drop to break the HTC screen. Impressive, but painful to watch.

It's a pretty lame excuse of a test really.
And what did we learn?
"Yeah the aluminum frames tend to hold up pretty well when dropped" lol no shizzle my nizzle
And the iPhone was "unlucky" lol sums it up totally, if you manage to drop your phone get lucky.
Sorry to ***** but I think drop tests are stupid as hell

EVO body design

I haven't seen a thread like this, nor have i even heard mention of this for that matter.
What do you think about the body design of the EVO? I'm talking about the exterior, so the shape, curvature and that sort of thing.
I like the screens design, how the glass is the entire front. No borders. I also like the overall color scheme, especially the cameras.
The only thing i really don't like is the curved back. It looks like the phone is being stretched, like its overly full.
I don't like how the camera lens was designed; whos bright idea was it to have it stick out anyways lol! I HATE how weak the volume and power buttons get from the wear and tear (rooting, flashing). I like just about everything else, best phone I've had hands down.
It takes 2 clicks now to lower or raise my volume lol......*facepalm*

^This... I'd would've rather the phone be thicker than have it protrude like that.
Also a camera button would've been nice. (I'm glad it's successor will have it)
Overall though, I love it's design. Initially I thought it was too large but now, anything less, seems too small.

Hear Hear! Too bad HTC seems to be stuck on the idea. I either run an extended battery or an IcyCell back just to protect it. This should not be necessary.

I agree with your existentialist and egalitarian analysis
In all seriousness.. Is it perfect? No. Is it the most stunning mobile device to date? Yes
I like the overall design except the camera and the ear piece. It scratches my ear while talking on it.
I hate the design of the phone. I wish they would have taken a page out of the Nexus One's book when they made the EVO. I miss my Nexus One (don't miss T-Mobile though, lulz).
I am looking forward to the EVO3D, though I wish Sprint was getting the Sensation instead. I LOVE the way the Sensation looks.

The Sensation is the EVO3D minus the 3D. And it is more aesthetically pleasing (IMHO): http://www.htc.com/www/product/sensation/overview.html
I would choose sensation too.. the bad thing about 3d is that yet again, it's a new thing which means people will wanna see it
Gimme a couple a days to come up with a new sig that is cool.

I'd prefer the Sensation because of the design/appearance. Easily give up the 3D for that. Short of the 3D, it's the same phone.
i love the design, but would have loved to have the curved front glass and gorilla glass...also the camera should have been recessed ...other than that perfect...
I wish it was more like the inspire or tbolt. After handling those, with their sexy aluminum bodies, the EVO seems platsticky and cheap. I also don't like the angle of the sides at all. I wish the sides were a uniform dimension. All of this is easily solved with a case anyways. Almost a must.

We do have gorilla glass. But the curved glass would have been super nice too. It just looks sexy like that. I agree with the camera too.
Is the sensation coming to sprint? I really do like the design of the EVO, and at the time what sprint had to offer it was the only acceptable phone.

Of course it is....June 24th aka evo 3D. I doubt they'll get the sensation sprint is really banking on this 3D gimmick junk to stand out. Why would they get the same exact phone but without 3D?

Must admit, I had the same feeling after watching that and sticking to my HOX. I'm not gonna cancel my pre-order though, I'm sure I'll love it when it comes.
I'm of the opposite opinion. It's looking better as I see it being handled more and more by reviewers. A big issue with phones this size is usability with one hand. Contrary to the specs it seems the Samsung may actually be narrower than the One X, and the rounded profile will give better reach. I like my One X very much. It's built stunningly well and feels very good in the hand, but even with my good sized guy hands I can just barely reach the ends of the screen as well as the hard buttons at the bottom without repositioning my hand.
The strengths and weaknesses of these two phones complement each other so well that there's nothing between them overall net. (The One XL has none of the problems the One X does since they have different chipsets and screens). Thankfully that glossy battery cover of the SIII can be changed. It's my biggest issue with this phone. If physical usability in the hand of one is much better than the other it will be the trump imo. I think I will return my One X and wait till the SIII releases. Maybe I'll end up getting another One X, but considering how different these two phones are and considering I'm in this for two years (contract) I want to be sure I'm getting the right one.
How funny they've made a magnetic cover for it like what the iPad 2 has.
That blue colour just looks better and better the more I see it. So glad my pre order of the white version cancelled itself lol

Is it me or does that back cover look so much better than any other photo taken from the unpacked event? I mean the back cover and the finish actually looks really nice in the video when he took the phone out of the box
Oddly enough few "hands-on" posts suggests that the phone actually feels nice in hand

Can't say I'm disappointed that it is plastic and not metal. He seemed to drone on about the plastic design. Sure plastic shells can scratch easily, but they stand up better over time than metal ones. I've had several devices metal and plastic, and metal always interferes with signal quality and when it bends, it doesn't bend back into place like plastic does. My TF201 looks terrible with all of its dents and scratches but my Evo 3D with its plastic back and only a little bit of metal around the edge is looking decent (except for the metal which is scratched and nicked.)
What is everyone's deal about plastic? A ceramic coating would have been interesting, but we have already seen the coating chipping off on one model of the HTC One series phones.
EDIT: Ok, so I see I wasn't the only person that found the way he complained about the keys and other nitpicking to be a bit biased and annoying.

stay away from ceramic coating!!! good thing Samsung didnt go there.
I sent my 3d htc one s back for a refund and preordered the SGS3 for that reason alone!!
By the way, flimsy plastic? So what? You scratch it and buy a new one, the phone looks like new.
try to do that with an alloy-ceramic phone.... No chance!
Well,PhoneArena's reviews are really good,as long as you don't watch the videos.
Although...iPhone smooth?Nowadays the iPhone is Android smooth. With ICS my Desire HD is smoother than the iPhone 4 of a friend and rivals the 4S.My S2 rapes them both.

I'd have loved it to be HTC Sensation-style,where you can replace the whole housing apart from the screen in the form of a battery cover. That way you just don't give a rat's ass about scratches etc.
Very annoying. Love the phone. Plastic back is better for radio signal. Drop a plastic backed phone and you will get back a scratched but still very much working phone not like a glass backed device. Very easy to tell an I-Phone fan boy. Could not watch or listen to entire video due to the annoying Fan Boy.

That video has no real value..If you damage your tablet its likely going to be from a Drop or sitting on it.. We all know that these screens are very tough against scratches . What causes issues is when the glass gets twisted . Dropping it from like 3 feet would be a much greater impact on the tablets well being then beating it while lts laying on a flat surface... I do think his mommy needs to spank his Ass and send him to bed with NO SUPPER For such abuse ...
Just my two cents.. Do not take this video as source to show how durable the tablet is ..

Funny Video About Big Phones

If you own a big phone, then you can relate to this funny, short video I made
Link to the video: https://www.facebook.com/video.php?...834654164&type=3&video_source=pages_video_set
I understand that some people get made fun of for getting big phones but most of the time there is a very good reason. Like me I have huge hands and if I had something with a 5 inch or smaller screen it just wouldn't fit right. IPhone for example feels like its microscopic when I hold one.
