I bought a used HD2 running CM10(NexusHD2-JellyBean v1.3a). I want to run WP7.8 on it so I looked up the ways to do that. Tutorials like http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...postcount=1193 say to flash a stock winmo6.5 rom before moving to WP7. I tried to do that by trying to flash RUU_Leo_S_HTC_WWE_3.14.405.2_Radio_15.42.50.11U_2. 15.50.14_LEO_S_Ship. The normal RUU Updat Utility came up with lots or errors, but mostly connection or no response from device issues. So upon further reading i found out an alternate way to go about it by renaming the nbh and putting it in an sd card. I used 2GB microSD card and tried to flash it. But mid-way it stopped and upon reboot it said software update failed with a triangle. I went into the 3-color screen and there the message was present as well with two other messages microp led and microp touch. I tried the sd flash method again but it stopped by giving a not allow 00028002 error every time. I flashed HSPL 2.08.000 from the HSPL4 executable and Android booted up again.
i also tried RUU_Leo_S_TMO_UK_3.14.110.1_Radio_15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14_LEO_S_Ship_2 but the same update error(266, i think) came up
Can i now go to a stock rom and then to WP7?
Thanks, in advance

thanks for the reply but i want to go back to the stock rom which it seems i'm unable to do. i tried the usb flash and microsd flash methods with both RUUs. if i get to stock then i can proceed to wp7 with a clean slate. ATM i've flashed energy rom (Energy.Leo.29022.Sense2.5.Reference.Jul.05) with radio 2.15.50.14 in an attempt to see if doing this would help flash stock rom but no success.
IF you want WP7 no need to go back to stock ROM, I guess you haven't take a look at this link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=25781675#post25781675
once you have Magldr in your HD2, next steps would be easy as pushing a button
got windows phone 7.8 on it, thanks. But what if i want to later on return to stock rom? even when i was trying to wipe with task29 it was giving same error 266 and as of yet i haven't successfully flashed anything by the RUU method.

Nope but then again, i never had to flash another radio. Try to follow the tutorial in mengfei's signature and if it doesn't work create a separate thread for others to weigh in.

If you want stock windows mobile (with HSPL) > Use HSPL to flash windows mobile using the RUU.
If you want stock winmo AND stock spl > Install winmo using HSPL, then use HSPL package to uninstall HSPL (i.e. install stock SPL).
That's the only way I can think of since you're getting lots of errors doing anything without HSPL.

I presume you're talking about the regular USB>3-color screen>RUU(on pc) method. Well, i've been doing that for stock roms and other stuff(splashes, etc.) too but i almost always seem to get error 266 update error.

If you don't have HSPL, you will get an error when trying to flash almost anything.

From HSPL4 you can flash the stock SPL, which is what you did. HSPL 2.08.0000 is stock SPL. With that, you can't do much.
You need 2.08.HSPL.
Try again and report back.

Try this easy fix:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=993472
To sum it up:
*Try a different port.
*Install ActiveSync/WMDC.
*If already installed, uninstall then re-install, or simply try a different computer if you have.

Maybe the USB cable? Although I highly doubt it, there is no harm in trying. Try a different cable and see what happens.

Help!
First time attempt at using HPSL and may have bricked my HD2 :-(
I have a Voda supplied HD2 so can't install the stock ROMs directly...I thought I would be able to do so via HPSL, but it seems not. I was trying to install 1.66 (UK WWE) following the HPSL for dummies guide, and did the following:
- installed HPSL onto HD2, confirmed by going into bootloader
- put nbh file (extracted from stock .exe) onto SD card, named LEOIMG.nbh
- entered bootloader and chose flash option via power button
- flash started (minimal progress)
- within 2mins error showed
- now going into bootloader shows
00028002
Not allow
then..
SPL-1.42.0000 :-(
Upgrade ROM code error Please try again
If I start normally I get a warning triangle.
How can I get my HD2 back from the dead, ideally with 1.66 rather than the crummy Voda 1.43? (can anyone point me at a stock ROM for the voda 1.43, perhaps that would at least unbrick it?)
Help!!!!
*EDIT* Currently downloading the Voda 1.43 image, hoping I can at least get that back and running...if that works will still be keen to find out how to apply stock 1.66 via HPSL (bearing in mind that the CID lock(?) means I can't apply 1.66 on my voda device thru normal means)

The 3rd sticky down in the HD2 ROM Development thread is titled, "[REF]Leo Official ROMs" - Click that.
Then click, "Shared folder for shipped Leo ROMs".
The first "box" will have the title "Leo 1.43" under it. Click the hand carrying the folder icon.
You'll be greeted with 3 ROM's, select RUU_Leo_Vodafone_UK_1.43.405.1_Radio_Signed_15.26. 50.07U_2.04.50.22_2_Ship.exe and download it.
Hope that helps.
Good luck with getting your phone back up and running.
Your device is not bricked. I think you have not installed HSPL properly.
Try installing HSPL again. As it seems your HSPL is not installed properly. Follow the following instructions very carefully :
Connect your phone to USB
I think when you boot in by default your device goes into bootloader if not press volume down + power butoon on the same time, your phone will enter tri color bootloader mode.
At the bottom of your screen it shoul show "USB"
Now download the HSPL.zip file(I have attached it here)
Now run HSPL.exe and follow the onscreen insteuctions.(Mostly you have nothing to do it will start installing automatically)
After a while on the screen of your phone a text will appear saying "We hacked it". If this text is displayed then everything went ok. Now confirm by clicking yes on the computer screen and it will finish the process.
All done.
Your phone will restart.
If you want to check that your fone has HSPL then press volume down+power key at the same time. The phone will enter into bootloader and should show "cotullaHSPL".
Now you can install any ROM and it will run properly.
Thanks - had just found that and started downloading as you posted this..fingers crossed! If this works will still be keen on ways to apply 1.66 (stock) to my voda CID locked device.

This is exactly what happened 1st time I installed HSPL...however trying it again did get the phone back and apparenty healthy again....thanks!
So - 2nd attempt to flash the 1.66 ROM, same as before. Confirmed HSPL installed via tri-colour bootloader screen, selected (via power button) option to flash from SD. Progress bar gets to (max) 10%, Warning triangle briefly shows then phone goes back to tricolour bootloader (but with std. SPL version) and nothing more happens.
Should I be waiting longer ? i.e. is the phone potentially still flashing when on the tricolour, std. SPL, screen ? Not flashed an HD2 before so not 100% sure I'm doing this right..will double check videos on this site, sure I'm just being stupid/impatient/not read enough....may try downloading the ROM again incase corrupted.
Anyway, HSPL installed for 3rd time and phone appears fine back running with 1.43.
People please read the HSPL thread properly, once you have installed the HSPL you CANNOT install from SD card you HAVE TO USE THE PC to install any rom images that are not original HTC.

Yeah, the 1.66 ROM you've downloaded may be corrupted. And next time, try installing the ROM with USB connection and the ROM's .exe file. You SPL is reverting back to stock, so it's possible that the culprit is flashing with SD.
OK, problem solved...
Rather than installing the stock ROM via HSPL bootloader I installed HSPL and then ran the RUU exe for the stock ROM. Phone now upgraded

I believe Dragon Soft was possibly referring to not using a stock ROM from SD? If I remember correctly flashing a Stock ROM from SD with HSPL on will remove HSPL.
So in other words, if you have HSPL and want to have a stock ROM, it is best install it from the PC when connected via ActiveSync as this won't affect the HSPL.
Custom ROM absolutely no probs with flashing from SD, the HSPL will stay intact, good work on the video ★

I got my Leo two days ago, went home, put HSPL on it in the first place, wanted to upgrade the stock ROM, and ended up same as CraigBruce. Really frustrating, thought I'd bricked it. So I re-flashed HSPL and this time a custom ROM and it was back up again.
Now I know that I should have flashed the stock ROM via ActiveSync and not SD card which would have left the HSPL intact. I will definitely remember that for the future
just remember that some people WANT to remove HSPL when installing a stock ROM - e.g. when returning device.
tbh it should have worked with stock ROM and sdcard as leoimg.nbh - it is the way listed in HSPL thread to uninstall after all!!! we dont always want to use customRUU!!!
As from the noob flashing thread
NOTE: The only way to remove the HSPL is to flash an original SPL from microSD card
* You can also use this method to flash back your Stock Rom and Stock SPL that you originally had on your phone*
VIDEO TUTORIAL: [★] has made a YouTube video to walk people through flashing a Stock SPL via activesync. Find it *HERE*
- Download a shipped Rom from *HERE*
- Rename the extension to .zip
- open it with winzip and extract the RUU_signed.nbh file to a folder
- Rename it to LEOIMG.nbh and copy it to the root of a microSD card thats been formatted to FAT32
- Insert your storage card into your phone
- Enter Bootloader and follow onscreen instructions to flash

Use the custom ruu to flash it. Do not put the nbh on the sd. I quote from the "[HSPL]How to flash everything" thread:
4) Uninstallation
Only way to remove the HSPL is to flash an original SPL from SD card.
- Take any "RUU_signed.nbh" from a ship ROM and copy it to SD card.
- Rename it to "leoimg.nbh"
- Reset the device while pressing the volume down button.

No Problem Flashhing to 1.66 on a Voda HD2 with HSPL
I have a voda HD2 and being a total Newbie to the HTC / WM .. I followed the Dummie guide.. (thanx to all, for that.. fantastic..) installed HSPL..and then installed the latest 1.66 from the HTC site using a boggus serial number.. As actual would not let me download it. No problemo..
Feeling a bit more adventureous.. any suggestions for the best 'cooked Rom' ??
From my understanding, you can flash away Stock ROMS using activesync. No need for HSPL.
I won't bother with the exact history of things but I'll tell you what's on the phone and what I can't get to work.
SPL-2.00. 10000 XE
Radio 2.06.50.04
ROM Leo lite 2.6 WE (21892.5.0.89)
Current ROM works until I try to do anything involving phone radio and then it just locks up. My radio is not up to date for this ROM I assume.
Trying to flash anything at all via LEOIMG microsd card does nothing but sit at the Loading.... screen with never any progress. (I have also tried this with a goldcard that somebody made me and I get the same error.) Have used both a 16gb card and a 2gb card, all formatted to fat32
I am unable to flash a new ROM or new Radio or get the SPL to allow any OEM ROM/SPL package to install via SDcard.
Trying to flash anything with the standard flasher tool and it never did anything but time out. SSPL used to work but now it does nothing but time out. I'm stuck on this ROM, can't change it and phone doesn't work.
What I would like to do is get HSPL back on it, the most current radio and the latest US T-Mobile ROM
If you can help me do this I will pay $25 for the person to help me get it off my phone. There is a chance my goldcard could have been made incorrectly, I don't know anything about them. I can pay you via PayPal or mail you a check, whatever works for you. All I can do is give you my word that I will keep my end of the deal. I'm a 44 year old family man and a department manager of a casino. I would really appreciate any help.
If I posted this in the wrong place please move it but I'm at wits end and just want my phone back to normal.
Edit: Just to be clear, the $25 reward is for getting the SPL 2.0 off of my phone and/or getting me upgraded to the latest radio so I can run the most current TmoUSA ROM properly.
the problem appears to be that you have slightly different hardware to every one else.
didnt realise you were having issues with sspl, that at least should work ok. by time out do you mean there sspl boot screen appears burt nothing else?
if so what happens if you disconnect the usb cable and plug it back in?
if it changes to usb then rerun the sspl without changing anything on the hd2
you could also try - and uninstall the windows drivers for the qualcomm cdma drivers or whatever they are called on you pc. and reconnect in boot loader to let them reinstall.
SSPL used to work, it stopped working after I flashed a newer rom to play with. When I use the SSPL it goes into the bootloader screen just fine, then I hear the USB disconnect sound and the SSPL program times out quickly with the exit button citing no connection.
I have 2 x Windows 7 64 bit computers, 1 x Windows 7 32 bit and one XP 32 bit computer. I get the same results on any of them. All after the most recent ROM upgrade.
I have not tried running SSPL from boot loader screen, did not know that was possible. Trying that now. Just need to download a known working ROM.
If that works I'll be back in the same boat as before, stuck with 2.0 SPL and 2.06 radio. I want that SPL 2.0 off my phone badly.
OK, trying SSPL from the bootloader screen got me a little further towards ROM flashing. I can see the htc on the black screen with the progress bar. It now sits at 0% with no movement indefinitely.
Going to try another ROM and see if I can get the ROM installation to actually begin.
If you still haven't tried it do this: start SSPL when you hear the USB disconnect sound remove the USB cable (either from device or PC) and then connect it again! this should allow the SSPL to enter USB mode! I've had similar problems long ago and this trick was doing the job! Not sure that it will help you but just a thought!
Newb here:
I had something similar. I installed HSPL and everything was fine thereafter. The radio wouldn't flash any other way, in fact it would disconnect like you said, or if I manualy took the phone to boot loader, it would stick at 0%.
There is a HSPL thread stickied in the ROM section and I believe it explains how to remove it if you need to "re" validate your warranty. Although reading once more it does say you need SPL 1.42 to get it to install.
Have you tried installing an official HTC ROM downlaoded from their site? This will take you back to the original SPL version 1.42...
I don't have HSPL on my phone, I have SPL 2.0 Nothing is out currently to remove a later SPL with the exception of flashing an OEM full package ROM through the sd card but that doesn't work for me.
I have tried multiple roms now using SSPL from the bootloader screen and none will move the progress bar past 0%
Still stuck. : - (
Have you tried to hard spl it? If I missed it in your post, I apologize.
Not in a long while, I should try again I guess but I was totally under the impression that HSPL will error all the time unless you have SPL 1.42 installed on the phone.
Edit: Just tried and it errors because SPL 1.42 is not on the phone, it's the only SPL that HSPL works on as far as I know.
balane have you tried installing a stock rom from your SD card? this would revert the spl back to 1.42 and allow you to then flash HSPL (I think, almost certain) but you said you cant do anything with the sd card, have you tried that? have you tried with different SD cards? also have you made sure that it is formatted to FAT32?
Another thing you could try if all else fails: MTTY, look at the MTTY thread by MystikGenius, its stickied in the rom development section, this will format your phone from which you can then try to flash from usb or sd. I would recomend trying to flash from SD which then again may revert your spl.
Im going to school now so I wont be able to help you anymore 8 or so hours, but PM me later if your still stuck.
I may be wrong but from what I read in the threads I thought it was not possible to go back to anything under 2.0 once you flash a 2.0 SPL. You can't flash back to 1.48 or 1.66. You might be able to flash the new TMOUS which is in the 2.0 SPL range.
Yes, I've tried dozens of stock roms from the sdcard, every one I could find in fact and they all hang at the Loading... screen. As stated in the op, I used two different cards both formatted to fat32. I guess I could try a third card, not sure if it's worth a try or not.
I looked at MTTY but that doesn't do a thing with SPL and my SPL is the root of my issues.
Update: I finally did find a ROM I could get flashed via SSPL. It took like 3 tries to get the progress bar going but it did get installed. I can't even recall what series of events got it to go but at least my phone turns on and works.
Still the same SPL and radio though. No change there.

I could have swore I read some people who were able to get the SPL 2.0 off their phones but I could be mistaken. I'm actually ok with any SPL as long as I can sspl different ROMs. I just want to get the radio current so I can run the latest TmoUS ROM, I would totally and 100% pleased with being able to update the radio. I have found now way to flash a more current radio.

No it won't be SSPL as we know it, the HTC stock ROM you can download from their site (Google "HTC HD2 DOWNLOAD") will use it's own method of getting onto your device and will reload SPL 1.42 for you. Although apparently you may not be able to do this with SPL 2. You say you have done it with a gold card, have you tried the stock rom downloaded from HTC via USB?
Otherwise, pester bepe for when the HSPL comes out that is compatible ywith SPL 2!

When you say oem, do you mean just the nbh with which you have tried to install using tools or the self extracting exe that HTC provide? I'm just asking cos to me, oem means it comes without all the manufacturers extras.
I've always been under the impression that the only way to downgrade an SPL was to install a complete OEM package ROM/Splash/Radio/SPL as a LEOIMG.nbh from the root of the SD card. I've tried dozens of these both from US based ROMs and abroad. None of gone past the Loading.... screen. I've tried 1.42 and above ROMs, no luck with any.
Well I got my new Leo 13 days ago and I've tried to make the stock ROM work to my satisfaction but between the T-Mo junk installed and terrible battery life I decided it was time to try a cooked ROM...
So I read and read and read some more...It's not my first run at this but I wanted to understand everything so I didn't end up with a $449 paperweight.
This morning I download and installed the HSPL-1024....No problems, went just as the instructions said....
I then download a 1024 T-Mo tested/approved Energy Rom and I install it on my LEO.... No problem everything went as it should. I played with the rom and wanted to try another one with a different look so I found another 1024 LEO Rom, the RoMEoS4 or something like that.... Anyway, that install went just fine...
After installing both cooked ROMS I noticed I was having freezing/locking up issues and had to keep soft reseting so after several hours of it locking up I decided to just revert back to the stock T-Mo USA rom.
I then went on here and found the exact shipped rom I had originally (I had documented the versions I had prior to HSPL and the cooked rom's)
http://beta.vbnfiles.com/index.php?...08.50.08_2_Ship.zip&directory=xmoo/Leo/TMOUS&
Instructions on here clearly explained how to revert back (for warranty purposes) so I downloaded the exact stock rom, extracted it to my desktop and renamed the nbh file leoimg.nbh.... I then copied it to a formatted 8gb SDcard and inserted it into the phone.
Instructions said to hold the Volume down botton and the Power button until it boots into the bootloader and then begins to install off the card. I did this exactly and shortly after it began loading off the card it went back to the bootloader and said "Upgrade Rom Code Error, Please try again" it then goes to a gray screen that says "Loading" and stays there...stuck.
Here's a video of what it does when I try to load off the sdcard.....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eCD_-EuI1_Q
I have no idea what happened or what to do to get it out of this...
Thanks for your time!

Put it into bootloader mode, hook it up to your computer with USB, and run to stock image like you did with the cooked roms. That should flash it back to stock. Then, if you want to take the hspl off, you can just run the hspl program again and change it back to your lod spl. No need to use SD card.
Every time a thread like this pops up, I can't help but wish that the "flash from SD card" method and every reference to it could be eradicated from the collective consciousness of this forum and all unwitting participants who fall into this trap... at least long enough to establish that:
1) it isn't a necessary or preferred method to flash.
2) it has the potential to cause stuff like this to happen.

I got those instructions from a very popular chef on here so I was under the assumption that was the only way to revert back from HSPL
I've learned a valuable lesson here.....Leave it the hell alone!!!!

If you can get to the boot loader, then you should be able to fix this pretty easily.
I'd do this:
Get to the boot loader, check the SPL version. Do you have HSPL 2.08?
IF no, install it using HSPL2_1024_RUN, (if you want a custom ROM option), or install the standard SPL if you want to have an "unhacked" HD2, and flash the stock ROM. Done.
IF HSPL 2.08 is installed and you want it like that to install custom ROMs, then I'd do the following, just for good measure:
run MTTY/task29 to clean out all the old stuff (see my sig line)
flash the TMOUS 2.08 Radio
flash a custom TMOUS compatible ROM

No, the new version of HSPL (HSPL2_1024_RUN) has an option to re-install the standard SPL. If I wanted to do that, i'd definitely use HSPL2_1024_RUN to do it.

Ok thank you....
The SPL reverted back to the original 2.08 SPL when it began the install the stock rom (before it gave me the error) So it does not have the HSPL in it anymore.
I've tried all kinds of different things to fix it but I get an error or no response with everything.
I did try to reinstall the HSPL but when I try I get the below error from the HSPL2 proggie.
Critical Error
Flow 00000003
Error Code 00000004
Discription: BAD MODEL ID
so reinstalling HSPL wont reinstall.....
I believe this is why I've not been able to fix it myself.... I'm usually pretty good with these installs. My Kaiser saw hundreds of new roms if not more and I never ran into this.
Thanks

Make sure you have the sd card out of the phone. So you get into bootloader mode, and you run the rom update from the computer? Maybe try downloading the stock rom again to make sure it's not corrupted. You should be able to flash it from your computer.
Before flashing any rom I would do task29 and completely wipe the internal memory, so you don't have any issues with left over files from the last rom. That is most likely why you started having problems in the first place. I used to think oh I can just flash a rom and it will work like new, but nope I had more problems I could deal with and almost returned the damn thing. Once you know what you are doing WM is a great OS to have and the only other phone I thought even cam eclose toa WM phone was the iPhone anyG, if i'm allowed to say that here. So, task29 first then enter bootloader and the run your customruu with any rom compatible with the TMOUS HD2 1024. Any questions just holla.

If you can get your phone into bootloader then just do task29. Here is the Mega link.

Once task29 is done, pull your battery out and replace after 10-15 secs. Then enter bootloader again and try the stock or custom rom you want. I have been at the 0% screen before even 70% and 99% and stuck. Mine is the HTC HD2 TMOUS branded and I am currently using the AxLor Leo V9 rom and she works like a dream. ahh ok, that IS the stock rom, but its a repack of the 2.1 rom, not an official .exe/nbh pack. (Well, my kitchen wont import it, says its not official, and it comes with customruu)
However, look for
RUU_Leo_1_5_TMOUS_2.10.531.0_Radio_Signed_15.34.50.07U_2.08.50.08_2_Ship
which is the packed ship .exe. (and does open as official in the kitchen)
ill submit this, and see if i can find the link.
EDIT - heres a mirror of
RUU_Leo_1_5_TMOUS_2.10.531.0_Radio_Signed_15.34.50.07U_2.08.50.08_2_Ship.exe

I am glad you pointed out this error on my part. I honestly did not know that HSPL2 and HSPL1024 were 2 different programs....
I was merely referring to HSPL1024 as the second version of HSPL....or HSPL2..... I didn't mean to create confusion... sorry about that...

so I'm kinda confused...you say that that you shouldn't flash from the sd card. and im sure you know more about this technically speaking than I do but what confuses me is I've been told and read MANY times by people probably more experience than both of us that flashing from your sd card IS the safest way to flash...im not saying your wrong but it concerns me because that is the method I use mainly for convience.but if this has the potential to destroy my very expensive device that I can't afford to replace I would REALLY like to know and know why. if anybody can guide me here why two different stories and maybe some reasons why one method had a higher chance for problems I would really appreciate it =)
Hey all,
Maybe someone can help me out.
Two weeks ago i installed andoid on my HTC HD2.
I used HPSL, radio 2.15.50.14, MAGLDR112 and NexusHD2-Gingerbread_V2.1_NAND. A few days ago, without any reason i got a white bootscreen and i still have it
What a did so far:
* New HSPL3, but the radio didn't connected anymore, error 270.
* A new MAGLDR, i reached 100% in a blink, but then an error 270.
* Using a SD with the original leoimg, i get a (00018003 radio fail) error after a few % and the update failed.
* task29, but again no connection. (after 5 min error 262)
* new USB drivers installed for windows 7 and i also tried it on an windows Xp computer.
So far i only reached my 4 colored screen with:
PB81100 HX-BC
SPL-2.08. HSPL 8G XE
0x05
CotullaHSPL 0x30
* The original rom was RUU_Leo_S_HTC_NLD_3.14.404.2_Radio_15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14_LEO_S_Ship
Last question, how can i check that the batttery is stil oke for flashing.
Anyone who has a clue what to do?
Thanks in advance.
greetz!
Rob
Mate, I think you´ve done everything. HSPL and Radio ROM versions correct etc.
Since I see more and more people reporting similar problems like you, I get the feeling that some Android builds might have some strange effects on Radio ROMs.
There are too many people with SPL and Radio ROM problems, eg. stuck in bootloader or at the white startup screen.
This didn´t happen at this pace before Android NAND.
Only 1 question though:
Did you try to flash the original ROM using RUU.exe, SSPL or LeuCustomRUU via USB, without having the SIM and the SD card inserted? In rare cases, either one or both were trouble makers...
EDIT: Second question:
What kind of SD card did you try? Bigger cards seem more problematic, too.
I used a 2 gb micro SD card to go back to the original Rom.
I didn't tried to go back to original ROM using USB, because of the connecting problems. So that i'm gonna do now. Any suggestions which to use best?
After your post i tried to the flash with (and without) the formatted sd and the simcard, unfortunatelly i didn't work.
For last your question i can say that connect your phone to PC when it is off. Then keep down "volume down" button and switch on your phone. You get 4 colored screen. On bottom you can see USB word. Let phone for minimum 1h. And you get more 50% charged battery.
After hour you can flash back to original rom or to MAGLDR and forward normally flash android nand. You dont need disconnect or switch off before flash your phone.
Hope helps.
@tictac0566
Thanks for the options!
I tried the options mentioned in question 1, the problem is the connection USB/Radio. SSPL seems to work, but after 1% again connection error.
After a few test it must be the radio.
I tried to flash only a new radio using LEOIMG, after 99% i get the same error as LEOIMG an original Rom (00018003 radio fail)
With HPSL3_PKG i also can't go back to SPL 2.08.000.
So the problem must be there.
Anyone has an idea?? Can i use another radio? If yes, than which?
Thanks!
Still no solution
Tried many things, still the radio is not working.
It could be also HPSL3, because i can't go back to spl 2.08 (or any other (h)spl with the app.
Anyone has an idea??
Just trying to help here, but have you tried doing everything from the start?
task29 and everything else?
Hey i seem to have the same problem as you except my white screen wasnt after a flash, it just randomly went white one day and wouldnt boot.
I have tried MTTY, i can connect via usb but after formatting via MTTY and then attempting to flash a new rom (ship and custom) it just stays on 0% and doesnt do anything else.
Sorry to hijack thread just thought whilst people are looking they can help me too

Can you go into bootloader? If you can then your problem can be solved. The problem you are having might have been because you unintentionaly installed or uninstalled a programm and that corrupted your rom.
To both of you. Try to flash using the leoimg.nbh step. If it doesn't work then the rom you used is not compactible with your device, try another till you find one that will work with your device. I know it is tiring to do something like that, here a tip from me, the rom you are expected to use in this process must be in the native language of your phone or else it will not work. You can't just use any stockrom to do it. I hope it helps.

Yes i tried, but mine HD2 stays on SPL-2.08 HPSL.
I used HSPL3_PKG and HSPL2 in different but still SPL-2.08 HSPL.
Maybe there's where my problems are, but i als can be an corrupt radio.
Anyone an other way to back to SPL 2.08.000 or how to fix the radio?
Then your best bet is to flash with a goldcard

Yes i can get into bootloader. I have tried using MTTY task 29 to format the device then i searched on the HTC site for a compatible ROM. Turns out the only one that doesnt give a negative response when i type in my serial number is the ROM from Taiwan. Tried flashing that using the SD card method and the USB method. Sd card method hangs at 0% and i get a connection error in USB method. I have also tried the latest ROM from Dutty.
If a ROM is not compatible how do you know? Does it hang at 0% or does it finish loading and then wont boot from there.
I have even tried flashing just a radio with the same results.

Yes i tried all different types of HSPL and even SSPL. From the bootloader screen i run the .exe from the computer and it goes through and says 'operation finished successfully'
But when i get back to the bootloader it still says the same HSPL, which is 1.66
Also to note when i power on the device i can hear a small 'click' from it. Could be much worse and be a hardware problem?
Still no solution.
Oke guys, thanks for answering my threat so far!
Still trying to get my HTC back to life.
Is it possible that my problem is in HSPL? (see attachments)
After the white screen i tried to reinstall HPSL 2, 3 and 1, but during the instal my HTC reboot (without the signal "We Hacked It"
I also tried different SD card for LEOIMG, still radio fail 00018003.
One thing i didn't tried is using a goldcard, i downloaded the app but i need a working HTC HD2 to make the card.
Anyone?
No you don't, there you go :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=874304
Goldcard is the old method to install a custom rom way before HSPL became popular
so if HSPL don't work then Goldcard wont as well but hey you can still try
I think its more of a hardware problem now since all attempts for software repair is not successful. I had the same situation as yours, white screen then radio fail, tried all solutions but still no luck
sameeeeee
i have the same problem 100%
i already try all these solution and no one is worked
however, some one told me that maybe the problem with the Flash memory of my HD2 because he already try to solve / or already solve such problem "but unfortunately he lost the tools he was used"
this tools is can check the memory and told which memory chunk is corrupted
please if any one know this tools or had it please posted it on.....
That app should be Task 29.
I have been trying to help a friend install Android on his HD2. We actually had it working but didn't know anything about APN so we couldn't figure out how to get the 3g data working. Ultimately I wound up flashing it back to Windows, and then figured I would try flashing Android again after that. Unfortunately we are now stuck with Windows because it seems that we cannot flash MAGLDR. When we try, the progress bar sits there, stuck at 0%.
I had downloaded the image from T-mobile's website here:
http://www.t-mobile.com/wmupgrade/
But I found this post archived:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-612580-p-78.html
It has some information stating that "If you cannot reflash and you stay at the 0 percent screen, then another solution is to flash first an original stock HTC ROM (1.66). Enter bootloader, connect to PC/Laptop and flash this ROM. When that has been succesfull, you can then reflash Artemis ROM."
Unfortunately the ROMs they are referring to (1.66, 1.72, etc.) appear to be non-US ROMs. I found the 1.72 website for the UK:
http://www.htc.com/uk/SupportViewNews.aspx?dl_id=936&news_id=638
But the site specifically says not to use that ROM to flash a T-Mobile(US) HTC HD2 as doing so can have unintended consequences. Is this true even when using HSPL? As part of the Android process we obviously had to install HSPL 2.08. I thought the point of HSPL was that you could always flash a ROM and even if the ROM didn't work, you will drop into the bootloader where another ROM can be flashed. So basically you can't brick the device any longer since you can always access the bootloader and flash a new ROM.
It seems people had success flashing one of those 1.66/1.72 ROMs and then installing some other ROM. I tried using the US ROM and it flashes just fine (doesn't get stuck at 0 percent) but when I try reflashing MAGLDR it just gets stuck. I don't intend on booting up and using the UK ROM...I'm just curious if I can flash that on this US based phone and then try to flash MAGLDR again to see if it works. Is this a good idea?
Oops...didn't mean to post this in the dev forum! Moderators please feel free to move this to Q&A.
flash any non tmous compatible cooked rom to a tmous and it wont boot past the RGD screen.
flash any STOCK non tmous rom to a tmous and it is bricked, full stop, dead. The radio contained in non tmous roms is permanently fatal to tmous phones.
This is true regardless of HSPL or any thing.
Simply put, you should never flash any rom where the chef doesnt explicitly state tmous compatible.
I havent used artemis, though glancing through the first post i see it is is based on the Leo S 3.14 rom, which is for the regular hd2 (LEO S means regular). What it doesnt make is any mention of tmous compatibility, so unless someone knows for certain i'd stay away from it.

not at all.
If your aim is magldr, put phone into bootloader, connect usb, run hspl4, choose 2.08.hspl, your radio is already OK, because if it wasn't your phone would already be bricked (all tmous radios are ok for magldr by default), return to bootlaoder, flash magldr.
EDIT - Oh and once you are on android, you dont need to worry, all roms are tmous compatible.
Great thanks for the info...I definitely don't want to brick his phone with an incompatible radio. As for loading HSPL 2.08 that is precisely what I did. I flashed Windows back on there, then flashed HSPL 2.08, then tried to flash the same radio. It got stuck at 0% so I pulled the battery and tried again but it was a no go. So then I just tried MAGLDR and it also got stuck.
At this point I read the thread about flashing Windows back so I tried that again and am still unable to flash MAGLDR. You think I should flash HSPL again and then it will work? I think I used HSPL 3...so maybe I need to try HSPL 4.

Also I don't plan on using Artemis...I just found that post while trying to fix the 0% issue while flashing. I had installed prj clean desire and he really liked that. He isn't too techie so I don't worry about him wanting to flash new ROMs to try them. As long as it is not Windows mobile he is happy. Unfortunately he is stuck on that for the moment.

hanging at 0%, , two possibles, either you accidentaly chose 2.08.0000 instead of 2.08.hspl when you ran hspl, or your computer is timing out, in which case dont touch the phone, reconnect to a different usb port and run the flash again.
Also, if you flashed that http://www.t-mobile.com/wmupgrade/ 3.14 rom from there, then you already have the latest radio and dont need to change it.
Oh snap you might be right...I might have chosen 2.08.0000 and not the HSPL version. I seriously doubt the computer is timing out because it works fine with that same USB port to flash the Windows ROM. I bet you're right and I just flashed the wrong SPL! I'll get his phone and just bring it home with me soon. He can use his old phone for a day or two while I iron things out.
I'll try to remember to login from my computer and hit the thanks button. I don't see any way to do that in this app...

also worth considering - once magldr is running and you are into the android side of things, go into wmdc without phone connected, choose connections settings (or whatever it says) and UNtick allow usb connections, , you don't want wmdc grabbing the usb connection. (probably also need the "google usb driver" if its your first time with android on that pc,, google them.)
Flashing from bootloader needs that box ticked, hence the slightly confusing instructions in flashing guides to 'get an activesync connection', it doesn't really mean a sync connection, but that those drivers have grabbed the usb.

Yeah that causes a different error. Something about USB init failed and it complains about a source file called rspl.cpp or something like that. I had to fix that issue before I could ever install the prj ROM the first time. It's ActiveSync 4.5 though (I'm running XP on this partition -- I don't buy any Microsoft products any longer -- or Apple for that matter), but the steps are essentially the same. You just have to prevent it from establishing USB connections.
@samsamuel
Thank you so much for all of your help! I got his phone back today and it looks like the Windows ROM flashed 2.10.0000 on there. I launched HSPL3 again and this time made sure that I selected 2.08HSPL. It flashed right on, as did MAGLDR 1.13, and ultimately the prj clean Desire ROM. It's back to working again and we'll plug in the APN settings when I give it back to him tonight. Victory!
