you constantly need a computer every time you turn it on,
when usb cable is inserted,
the phone goes into charging state,
while in charging state,
via PC access cmd and use admin options,
use adb commands,
Code:
adb reboot

I've never used it. Please tutorial for this?
What is adb. Where is it?

Probably your phone is bricked.
try the following,
1. take the battery out once and put again (to make sure its off)
2. connect the usb cable to phone and connect to your system
2. press vol up + vol down + home button + power button at the same time for few seconds and you can hear a beep sound from your system and can see that windows found new hardware and will install drivers now continue installing original firmware using odin.
hope this helps.
message me if you need more information.
Note: Ofcourse its your risk am just trying to help you

[Q] I am bricked! please help!

I flash a wrong kernel (A Nexus 7 kernel), and my nexus4 become brick. No matter what I did, it still no response. I can't boot to fastboot, even i can't turn it on. Please help....
connect to PC, only show a QHSUSB_DLOAD in Device Manager. But still can't turn it on. Please help, anything i can do to fix it??
Read through the ENTIRE other thread you posted in, all the info is there.
No idea how you accidently flash wrong a kernel for the wrong device.
Get into bootloader mode. (can you? Google on how to do it manually)
Or
Plug the phone in via usb if you had adb used on it and type adb reboot bootloader (hence if use toolkit you won't have this set up.)

I really dislike people recommending to send the phone back (RMA) to Google for a user's own (I'll be polite here) lack of awareness and understanding of what they are doing. This person should continue to look for solutions to get it working and if not.. well, to bad. Lesson learnt. Buy another Nexus 4.
Besides that fastboot should still be accessible. If OP can eventually get into fastboot then all will be well.
Go read read FAQ thread, will show yo proper way to get back to bootloader mood don't be lazy that won't help, agree getting to bootloader mode then fastboot proper n4 kernel.try it on other pc I'd you cannot in this pc,make sure you install the driver.

I think i had driver, because i can use toolkit, unlock and root via adb before. Or can u please give me the link which i need to read? I search about the "qhsusb_dload" problem. Some tell me can easy to fix it by using power+ Vol+/- with connection to PC. But i try many times, still not work... I know i can fix it, if i can enter bootloader. Its actually appalling the lack of support users get on here, instead being on point and helping the man out all they get is criticized.

I read your post already bro!! Thanks for your help. But, i don't understand #241. How can I get into fastboot mode?
Is the first step "1) Once in Fastboot mode, through Nexus 4 Toolkit I flashed the Clock Work Recovery. " ?
Now I connect my phone to PC, then Power + Vol- for ~10sec, my phone will had red led for few second and then off again.

I like how all the people who manage to do something so idiotic to these phones band together and stick up for each other. There is no possible way to flash the wrong nexus kernel. any who, the solution has been posted plenty of times. Enter recovery then fast food.

To get into Fastboot:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So for all the people with Bricked devices all hope is not lost. Follow this procedure to get into Fastboot.
1) Press the Power button for more then 5 seconds to do a Hard Reset. This is where you screen is completely turned off.
2) Now take your LG manufactured USB connect it to the PC. Do not connect it to the phone just yet.
3) Holding the Vol Down and Power together and NOW connect your other end of the USB connector to the phone and then your phone should give you a slight vibration and you should see the Fastboot screen (Android lying on the back)
NOTE: Make sure as soon as you see then fastboot mode Let go of the Vol and Power Button right away!

Try this,
Did you ever get a Battery sign when you had it connected to the PC or AC for power?
Try this, I don't know if its gonna work or not but plug your phone in the wall receptacle for AC Charge and leave it for a while. On AC, the phone most likely, if completely dead, will stay idle but most likely jump back to Battery sign showing its charging or not.
When that happens, leave like that for a hour or two.
Let me know what happens. Good luck.

[Q] Did I brick the Nexus 4?

Hey guys!
Yesterday I made a big mistake in the afternoon. I hate myself and don't know what to do now.
I was tired and without concentration so i flashed the nexus 7 franco kernel r38 on my nexus 4 :'(
Now my nexus 4 won't boot up. It's completely shutdown and without AC charging nothing happens.
With plugged in AC power supply module after pressing volume down and power on for 11 sec the red led lights up once for a short time.
If the nexus 4 is connected to the computer with usb the device manager shows me a unknown device 'QHSUSB_DLOAD'.
I have no possibility to go to fastboot mode or recovery. There is only a BlackScreen!
Is there a possibility to make my mistake undo?
If read a lot of threads for now and found solutions (UnBrickableResurrector) for the Galaxy Nexus S but there is nothing for the nexus 4.
Thank you for you help!

Can you boot into fastboot? recovery?
Edit: Sorry, saw that you wrote you can't...
I added the information afterwards. Sry
Basically, there are two ways to fix this:
1) I don't know how, but through QHSUSB_DLOAD you probably can flash something...
2) JTAG Repair.
1) Sounds interessting. I thought at something like this: UnBrickable Resurrector
But is there a chance to get this solution to our nexus 4?
2) Nexus 4 - JTAG Brick Repair Service is also interessting but i don't know how much time it take vom germany to usa to germany back.
I thought the nexus 4 is unbrickable
If you got it into Download mode, then you should be able to get into recovery. (Assuming you didn't do a bad flash of that)
Unplug it
Hold volume down and power
Plug it into WALL CHARGER (not a computer) while still holding the buttons
Someone also flashed a Nexus 7 kernel (also Franco) to his Nexus 4. Didn't look good because the Nexus 7 kernel overwrites a partition from the bootloader, if I remember correctly. Here is it explained better. The last post from the guy who flashed it didn't look too good also. Sorry to hear man.
Maybe you can RMA it. I don't recommend it because it's your own fault, but everyone makes a mistake sometime sooner or later.
I am another one who did the same mistake - accidently flashed the franco Nexus 7 Kernel. ::crying:
Even the Qualcomm flash tool which I tried couldn't get acces to the device. So I'm waiting for my replacement device now and hope LG can fix the problem.

Sorry to hear your bootloader has been obliterated. Try to RMA via Google or contact LG and find out how much they will charge to flash the device.
On a side note, I'm curious if you're able to put the phone in to download mode (not fasboot or recovery).
1. Make sure it is off
2. Hold volume up + volume down and plug in USB.
Even if you can get to download mode I don't think we have what we need to get the device working (LG drivers, KDZ image, etc) but this would indicate some promise for the future.
Until the Qualcomm USB Dowland mode is figured out, you're boned. Gonna have to send it away.

Hi,
I tried your suggestion and it did't work
The phone tried to boot into download mode but didn't get it. Screen was always black. After 10 second the phone vibrated and tried it once more.
Do you think the people of MobileTechVideos can help me?
I'm still waiting for a response from Josh.
Here is a link to a Nexus 4 - JTAG Brick Repair Service video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gYtNWt1h66E
And if all this does not work, i have to send it to the google RMA.
If it were me, I'd pay LG to fix it. Either contact Google for RMA or contact LG and ask them what they would charge to flash the device.

Just press VOL - key and plug into USB connected to PC, ARE YOU IN FASTBOOT MODE ?!
IF YES, flash stock firmwares... and let the device rest for 15 min.
then plug into AC charger and let it charge for min. 1 hour...
If nothing happens, you possibly damaged your battery !
I had the same issue... I sent it for RMA.. Although by this method, many have recovered, if there is no battery issue as such !
Give it a try !
And dont use toolkit... Use FASTBOOT COMMANDS ! MANUALLY !
You have to reach fastboot mode:
1) Turn the phone off!! Not so easy (for me when never done before)!! Unplug it and try to press power, it often needs a little time/serveral tries.
When off :good:- very important:
2) Hold volume - and power simultaniosly - and plug it into WALL CHARGER (not a computer) while still holding the buttons.
3) Fastboot Mode!!!? --> :laugh:
4) Plug it to PC and flash stock rom
Good luck!

The people who said the bootloader was overwritten are most likely right. Its done. This phone has the same processor as the s3 and on the s3 QHSUSB_DLOAD is the kiss of death.
QHSUSB_DLOAD=Qualcomm High Speed USB Download
Its basically a piece of hardware waiting for firmware to be loaded at a factory level. You need JTAG

btw: s3 is arm not qualcomm, but not important here.
Was referring to the us variants that also use the qualcomm snapdragon s4 processor like the n4 does
Ah, okay - sorry I donĀ“t know!
And for the record, Qualcomm chips are ARM cores.
Also for the record, my JTAG solution for this model will recover a device that is hardbricked via bad software flash. In this case you have flashed a Tegra kernel into the device and likely also into the incorrect partition as well. I have a complete backup of all necessary zones required for boot (sbl's, aboot, boot, rpm, tz and a few others). If you've damaged your Nexus 4's bootable zones and the device is hard bricked due to it, I can repair it for you.

I remember to fix it i took it back to stock Gingerbread then I upgraded to CM11 nightly 20140124 and the phone is in perfect condition now.

the original cable is samsung did not do it rips and cuts when used with the charger works great, I'll try to look for another cable, I doubt that it can be seen that ruined the bootloader does not even enter into download mode
I am just thinking that the reason it will not charge could be a bad cable. The tab could recognize its plugged in, but not work properly. It could be the reason for the computer not seeing the tab as well.

Hey ,
My Tab has been bricked in total unusual way . its only showing " galaxy tab samsung " which is the opening window .
its not going to cwm . but its going to downloading mode.
odin is also not able to detect it so i am unable to flash or root it .
Please help.
As long as you can get into download mode, all is not lost. The tab is ready, the computer has to see it. Try different combinations of connecting it. Open odin, then connect tab in download mode. For example.

Hopefully, this has been long fixed. What I have sometimes noted with my Tab is that it doesn't show the com port until you have clicked PIT or PDA or Phone, only then does it connect and then it is smooth thereafter.

Hey all!
My wife's nexus 4 screen is just dead! Latest signs of life were some weird colors and black and white lines and now it's completely black.
The problem is that it's locked (pattern lock) and we cannot access the phone.
I tried many times to unlock it blindly but I don't know if it's registering touches or not.
The phone LED is blinking normally while I can hear apps notifications and calls ring normally but screen is always black.
I just want to access the internal memory to copy the important photos and some important files on PC.
As you know, a locked device cannot be accessed through MTP.
I dunno what to do, any help would be appreciated!
Fixing the screen in here will cost me around 200 to 300$ which is the device price! And I'm not planning to do so! I just want to access the internal memory to access the files and use my spare phone.
I know that also formatting the phone to original state will remove the lock but I can't find a way to do so while it's completely black!
Thanks!

Unplug your device from the usb and press and hold the power button go 15 seconds. That'll make sure your device is powered off. Then press and hold vol down and power until you feel it vibrate. Then release the keys. You should now be in the bootloader. Then press power up twice and then press power. That should put you into recovery. Then use adb pull to pull your data off.

The adb method failed on me 10 times although I was sure I'm in recovery mode!
Although I followed the steps exactly and I hear the "dong" sound on PC that the device is now connected,
adb devices command gives me nothing
and adb shell gives me error: no device connected
Of course to do that I have drivers installed and androidSDK too... I even followed an online guide to make sure I'm doing everything right...
I'm desperate now
Do you think these might work from bootloader instead of recovery?
If so could you please remind me how to reach it?
Thanks anyways man!

Google 15 second adb install xda. Try those drivers. It could be just a driver issue. Do use the command adb devices first and hopefully you'll get your device recognized. Once you do then use the adb pull
You won't be able to pull any files in the bootloader, you need to be in recovery.

OK, I've done this simulating a non-functioning screen:
1. Don't have the usb plugged into the phone. Make sure the device is off, press and hold power for 15 seconds
2. Press and hold vol down and power simultaneously, when you feel the vibration release both keys
3. Press vol up twice then press power. It should vibrate once as it enters recovery, give it 15 seconds to boot into recovery
4. Plug in the usb cable
5. Open a cmd window on your pc and type adb devices. It should recognize the connected device
6. If your device is recognized use adb pull /sdcard/ c:\sdcard Have the c:\sdcard folder on your pc beforehand
If your device is not recognized got to device manager and see if there is a usb port with an exclamation mark on it. If there is you don't have the drivers set up right. Right click on that usb port and go to update driver software, go to browse my computer and let me pick from a list on the computer. Chose android composite adb interface. It'll probably ask you if your sure, just say yes.

Bro bro bro it works!!!! Thank you thank you! It was a driver issue!
However, I am holding the laptop right now and I tried:
adb pull /sdcard/ etc...
and
adb pull /mnt/scard/ etc...
and both say remote object "/scard/" or "/mnt/sdcard" does not exist
What could it be named?
I want the Internal memory.
:EDIT :
Its working now!
THANK YOU!
Thanks a 1000000 times!
