why did you choose this over the transformer and tab 10.1?

because i tried comparing and this is heavy and screen is not as good as the other 2. Tab is really good. The price though is just off the mark.

1. USB without the need to purchase the overpriced dock like the transformer (after all it's just a keyboard with a battery!).
2. Alluminum back - believe me, once you've used a device with alluminum body, plastic feels cheap. I tried them both in the store and it was like trying a SGS and a DHD. One feels light and cheap like a plastic toy, the other - like a real high-end gadget. Also the pattern on the back of the transformer is not my thing - if you have sweaty hands it might help not dropping the tablet but otherwise it's just annoying.
3. Screen difference is not that great compared on full brightness. Surely not enough to compensate for the USB and premium feel.

...if im not mistaken the a500 uses a little better RAM then the rest. I believe its low power ram that has an edge in performance. I could be off though

I tried 3 different Transformers but couldn't get one without significant light bleed or body build quality issues.
I went for the Iconia as a replacement over the xoom because the larger bezel makes it much easier to hold, and of course the excellent connectivity.
As for the tab 10.1, it wasn't available at the time my 'early adopter' monster screamed 'I NEED A TABLET' in my ear.
I wouldn't change my tablet now, I dont need the keyboard dock from the transformer, and neither it nor the tab has those all important usb ports.
Yes the screen is inferior to the Transformer, but you really have to look hard to tell the difference.

USB port was a big positive for me, I cannot count how many times carrying my tab and a standard USB -> MicroUSB cable in my backpack has saved the day for my cell phone's battery or the battery of friends
Being able to mount a NTFS USB HDD is a *huge* plus for me, I have a 32gb MicroSD in my Iconia and love being able to plug into the external drives of friends to snag a few files from them.
Before purchasing my a500 I went to a local Best Buy and compared it with the Transformer as well as the IPad2, Samsung Galaxy tab and the Asus tab - the a500's screen seemed pretty much the same to me, but that is just my experience.
Had my a500 for a few months now, running the latest Taboonay 3.2 ROM with custom kernel, overclocked to 1.4 - 1.6 depending on useage (also great to be able to switch the CPU to "conservative" mode via SetCPU when battery life is getting low) and I am pretty damn happy with the performance.
My only complaint? The damn screen picks up smudges/fingerprints so easy! I find myself cleaning it quite often.

The Samsung 10.1 tab isn't available in Australia and i wanted a full size USB port and I wanted 3g. The A501 was the only option..

I chose it over the galaxy because the screens are almost I identical until you get about an inch away from the screen and it does not even have a microsd slot! Its identical to the Ipad and I want funtionality, not looks. Also like the Ipad its expensive for little features.
And for the Asus, its a very nice tablet, but I use USB a lot and I want a Tablet not a netbook. That what makes me mad about reviews and the dock is what always beats the iconia. Once there a keyboard its a net book not a tablet. The dock would be awesome for trips where I could use the extra battery and a stand. But I don't want to carry around a keyboard with me.

Iconia over the transformer:

3) price (it's more expensive than the iconia to start with, and then you add $150 for the keyboard dock??? I paid $35 for a leather portfolio case with integrated keyboard for my iconia, and I love it, I actually think it's a better keyboard than the transformer one, and it doesn't suffer from the "yet another netbook" look that the transformer has)

c'mon! it has NO connectivity options and NO expandibility! if I wanted something that ridiculously locked down I'd buy an ipad... ok, maybe not, but I still can't see why anyone would want a device that has no expandable storage and no connectivity options.

As mentioned, the USB port was a very strong deciding factor.
To me, the Acer tab is one of the better all around tabs on the market. I love the portability and asthetics. The Acer looks further from Chinese knock off apple tablets. When people see it, they know it's not an ipad (not that I'm against I pads.) people claim it's one of the heaviest tabets on the market, and that's true in a sense........but it's actually one of the lightest for what comes with it. Sure the Asus is lighter, but add that dock just to gain acesss to a USB port, you have a three pound tablet.
If only the tablet had the ability like the Toshiba thrive to change out batteries would this tablet be supreme in my book. Oh yeah, better update support would be a good thing too.

USB port comes in handy sometimes, but mostly because the transformer wasn't in stock and I needed it for a project that day...

What I don't understand is how all of these "early adaptors" want functionality out of their tablets with USB slots. With Google and apple both moving into cloud storage and wifi file transfer apps isn't USB and micro SD going the way of the dodo?

For me, I always take my Acer with me when I go out with my telescope at night. The place I set up at is pretty removed from civilization, so no wireless means no cloud storage. I can easily shoot about 2 hours of video which completely fills my cameras internal storage. When it gets full, I just run a USB cable to my tablet, transfer everything over, delete everything off my cam and I'm back in business. Then while my cam continues to shoot more video, I sit down and play Angry Birds.
I dream of the day when I can plug my telescope mount into my tablet and control it through screen swipes. Unless you use Bluetooth I suppose, the USB port would be the only way to do it.

That's a +1 for me. Think of using the Iconia for control and star guiding
I hate bringing my laptop. Bad battery life and heavy. Weight matters when your telecope assembled weighs 70lbs lol

I am not trying to sound like a mean person here... but I believe your the only person in the world that does this. (Edit- I stand corrected) I personally would just get expanded memory for my camera instead using my tablet as a flash drive.

what video are you taking? besides an usb adaptor from the 10.1 is available. And it doesnt weigh as much.

I very well could be the only person who does this. But the reason I don't get expanded memory for my camera is that I can't. I took apart a Nikon coolpix camera and turned it into an astronomy only cam. When I did, I lost the ability to expand the memory. Such is life. My point still stands though, a Galaxy Tab or transformer just wouldn't work for me. I used to lug my laptop with me all the time, but the A500 is way more portable. And with the addition of a few apps, I have all my star charts, manuals, etc. right there if I need them.
Beyond my very specialized needs, why wouldn't you choose a tablet that has so many more options connectivity-wise and a much more wallet friendly price tag? The main negative for the Acer is screen quality, but comparing it to the Galaxy tab, its a negligible difference to my eye. Everything else is the same or better. I've never had a hands-on with the Asus, but I'm led to believe that the build quality is questionable on more than a few of them.
Just my opinion, but that is why I chose the Acer, and remain very happy with my decision.
to fenguinpower: I take pictures of planets, galaxies, nebulas, etc. while my telescope tracks the object through the sky. I then take the individual frames and stack them to create a rather detailed picture of whatever I was viewing. It about the only way to get a decent picture of deep space objects without having access to say, the Hubble telescope. While I could get an adapter for the galaxy tab, with the Acer I don't have to.

I have zero knowledge in camera modification, but how does that render the expandable memory useless?
As far as expandable connectivity is concerned, that was my point about cloud storage. Other than your rare need to use your tablet as a micro SD card most people who buy a wifi tablet will be using it where, you know, they have access to wifi.

Need some info about the 10.1 Tab

I wanna get my first tablet. I was thinking about Asus Prime but Asus realeased a product full of bugs and issues that even ICS cant solve. The Galaxy Tab seems like a good product for me. My main use is HD videos, web browsing and reading. Games will be nice too
My main concern about the G Tab is there is no SD card slot. It is realy important to me. There is any way to connect an external memory to it?
How about ICS? did the G Tab get the update?

tab 10.1 will get ICS someday (probably earlier with cyanogenmod )

I have the 10.1, and a good friend just got the Asus... all things said and done, i think the 10.1 wins out. The mod community (task650, cyanogen, b00sted, etc) are doing great things with ROM/theme development, so you won't be missing out on that front...
...but my biggest preference over the ASUS is the casing itself - it's surprisingly heavy in comparison, which was a big factor for me in selecting a tablet (if I wanted something bulky and heavy, I'd just carry my laptop around). The keyboard attachment available with the ASUS is better executed than the Samsung keyboard, admittedly - but with the plethora of virtual keyboards available, I find myself rarely missing a physical keyboard. As for the lack of SD slot, I have the USB adapter (3rd party one, but works great - and was far cheaper than the official Samsung one), and have a 4gb stick I use with no issues... the sticks need to be formatted in FAT-32 to work, although pershoot's kernel offers NTFS support.

I have the 32GB version of the 10.1 and I also have the USB adapter, (the Samsung version). I've had the device since launch day and have yet to run out of internal space. Nevertheless, I have a 64GB usb thumbdrive and have, on occasion plugged it into the tab via the USB adapter to copy a movie to it or transfer a file to the USB drive. I've never had a problem with this setup, so it seems viable. As for an answer to your second question, there are already ICS ROMs available here on XDA, (most if not all are in Alpha,) and Samsung is releasing an ICS update for the entire 2011 range of Galaxy Tabs, (10.1, 8.9, 7.0 Plus, and 7.7.) I hope this info helps. Good luck with your decision.

Thanks for your comments. It is really a hard decision. The Galaxy Tab 10.1 ןד a stable, fast and reliable device, but its Tegra 2 device while the Tegra 3 is coming. I think I will wait a little to see whats coming next.
The G TAB 10.1 seems to be a little expensive for me, compare to the Prime technology. They both 499 USD but at least on paper, the Prime is better.

One thing I would advise if going with the prime though, is waiting until the newer version comes out. ASUS released the first prime with some rather serious design flaws in the back panel that cause poor wifi, bluetooth, and GPS reception, (the GPS being the most serious.) As a result, they have released an updated version with a new back panel that purports to fix these issues. The unfortunate thing is that the updated Tranfsormer Prime is going to be set at $600-$700 here in the US, so it will be a great deal more expensive than the 10.1, and with the lack of apps that are optimized for dual core, let alone quad core, I don't think the extra $100-$200 is justified. Just my two cents.

Have you read the front page of their forum? It's falling apart. Five friends bought the Prime over the holidays and three are returning it.

I had a prime on order due to be delivered tomorrow, but the day after iCS was released I canceled the order. I knew it had gps issues, but it seems like the update is jacking up some tablets and I don't want to take the chance. I bought the SGT 10.1 today with the bluetooth logitech android keyboard. I will consider selling it on ebay is 6+ months if something better comes along that I just must have. I will give this a try though, its charging up now! I know I didn't want to pay $650 (tablet and dock) for something that is potentially broken out the box...

I have not decided yet if I go on the Galaxy or not. I have few more questions:
Can I connect a bluetooth keyboard/mouse to it?
Does it have HDMI output? From what I found, an adaptor is needed.
Well, games are not the reason that I want a tablet, but how the Galaxy run games? I mean, its smooth? laggy?

So I hopped over to the first page of the Transformer Prime General forum and I was floored! I knew that it was having issues and that customers were up-in-arms about it, but I didn't realize the true extent of the problem until I looked at that thread. With as many problems as this device is having, the locked bootloader seems like the least of their problems, but unlocking it is definitely a priority so that a dev can go in and clean up the mess that ASUS seems to have made with this software. The hardware, on the other hand, is another story. No amount of XDA wizardry can fix poorly designed hardware. It seems that ASUS rushed the Prime to market, and in an attempt to be "belle of the ball," as it were, at CES, they rushed this ICS update which seems to have added to owner's woes.
Here's a list of the most prevalent issues with the Transformer Prime, pulled from their "General" section:
1. GPS Issues: GPStest showing no signal whatsoever. Device can't get GPS lock)
2. Wifi Issues: Poor Connectivity/unable to connect to wifi.
3. Bluetooth Issues: Poor Connectivity
4. "Unknown Serial" Error: Many devices are unable to get OTA updates due to the fact that the system can't recognize their serial number. (This one is horrendously bad)
5. MicroSD card slot: Some owners are loosing their cards due to improper design of the slot. Apparently the placeholder from the Prime is very similar to a standard MicroSD, but is not the same size in order to stay in the devices' slot and fit flush.
6. Dock problems with USB: Apparently some of the the docks are incapable of powering or mounting usb devices unless you put the tablet in the dock, connect the USB device, and then restart the tablet while everything is connected.
7. Lockup/Reboot: Since the ICS update, (for those who dodged the "unknown serial" bullett,) the tablet will randomly freeze, the screen will lock up and it will reboot itself.
8. Screen "Banding": After the update, some devices are experiencing "banding," a display of horizontal bars across the screen which interrupt the display and render the underlying display partially visible/unusable.
The issues above are just a few that I've picked out after reading through the first 2 pages of the "General" section in the Transformer Prime forums here at XDA. I pinpointed these issues for a few reasons. First, they have been confirmed by other members/owners and are widespread. Second, they are all recent. Third, these are all rather serious and are not merely the complaints of people upset with functionality or UI changes or issues that can be solved by a mere reboot/reset. It would seem that the Prime, Tegra 3 or not, is not a good bet. If you want a tablet now, go with the 10.1 If you're not sold on the 10.1, there are plenty of other Android tablets out there for you to choose from. For now though, I'd steer clear of the ASUS Transformer Prime

You can connect a bluetooth keyboard and mouse to the tab. I have an Apple bluetooth wireless keyboard (the slim aluminum version), and a Kensington Slimblade Bluetooth mouse. I connect both of them to the tab at once and it is like having a very light, slim, sexy laptop.
You will need an adapter, but you can have HDMI out. You might also want to look into things like allshare and DNLA. These are apps and standards that allow you to stream contents from your tablet to other devices in your home.
Games are wonderful. Although I rarely ever play them, I've loaded mine up with the big games, and they all work wonderfully.

OK, and thats only with one core because ICS isnt out yet, so its sounds great. I found a seller on Ebay that sells the G Tab 10.1 at about 420 USD. I will go for it. Thank you all!

[Q] Still worth buying?

I've just got my first taste of android on a tablet (disgo 8100) and I've sold that for a decent profit, so I'm looking at buying myself a bit of a better tablet. I like the look of the advent vega but I have heard about various gripes such as screen angle and touch screen not being amazing.
So, is the vega still worth buying? I'm after something that:
Has a decent hacking community
Can run emulators well
Can support multiple usb devices through a usb host+ usb hub
Hdmi out (full mirroring)
Run apps quickly.
I'm after a tablet that I can mod, that's still getting updates (community or official) that I can play games in, and use six axis controller via blue tooth etc.
Hope you guys can help me, I don't want to put 100 quid down on a second hand tablet when something could be better for me

Yes, the screen angle is pretty terrible! It's like 10% LOL!
Yeah, the touch screen is pretty terrible too! It shows in Fruit Ninja where the slice is 1cm behind your finger and in internet browser where touch is just not fluid.
About the HDMI I don't know if I have a faulty cable or something but when I mirror my tablet's screen it appears like it would output a 360p image instead of 1080p. I can see tiny squares on my 46" 1080p LED TV! The picture is just horrible I'd rather just use an USB stick or use DLNA.
Hacking community on XDA and tabletroms is top notch (don't know how's on other tablets, tho).
I don't know how are emulators working, but apps run pretty quickly and "smooth" (touch spoils that a bit).
I never heard complaints about usb hubs, just use one that has an external power source (just in case).
In the end it all depends in how good condition your tablet will be and at what price.
There are probably tons of same spec tablets in your local shop that are also pretty cheap and there is also a chinese website aliexpress where you can order your cheap noname tablet online, but warranty might cause you problems later on.
I know that those generic chinese tablets have generic ROMs somewhere on the internet that include english language, play store and root, but I don't have any links, sorry.

I recently purchased an Advent Vega and flashed the last beta of VegaBean, and I am feeling it a little slow. There is a lot of lag switching between apps, and when I install an app it is damn slow for some seconds. I am using a generic 8GB microSD card, and I think that might be the problem. Using a class 10 card could make the tablet work more fluid?

but if you have opportunity it is better to try it mate! Try and see if it works for you..
and for those who still uses vega i must say i prefer ICS, less lags, less slowness feeling..

Thanks for the tip. Still I bought a cheap S*ms*ng class 10 microsd to see if it improves the experience, if it doesn't work I will probably sell the tablet and use the microsd with my cellphone

Only if you can get the tablet really cheap. Better tablets are quite cheap nowadays.

For £49 you can buy a much better Archos Cobalt 80 tablet.

TF300T n00b with questions & observations...

Bought my TF300T Christmas day and picked up on the 26th. So... I'm a TF300T n00b.
I do have a Kindle fire that I TWRP'ed and installed a ROM (from here) and I liked having an Android tablet (wife has an iPad) but I needed a bigger screen than the Kindle had. I also have a Droid Razr as we recently switched over to Verizon. AND.... an Android VM in VirtualBox on my computer (I've run linux since 2005). So I'm not a tech n00b so much but a TF300T n00b for sure.
This is a nice tablet! I'm still learning. I wanted to put music on the TF300 and try it out as a media server. My DirecTV receiver can see media servers on the network here. I have Media Tomb running on my PC but wanted to see what the TF300T could do.
I had a hard time figuring out how to put music on the TF300.Linux didn't see the device when I plugged it in to USB. I found that a bit odd, but....
Not wanting to boot to Windows for this I eventually found AirDroid so I could move my mp3 files over to the TF300. That seemed to work out well and AirDroid appears to be well written. Certainly has a much better interface than I expected from a free app. AND.... I don't have to boot to Windows just to move music around.
Tried Google Play Music, but.... just not feelin' the love on this one. I like that I can put all my stuff in the cloud, but I didn't like how slow it was to move it to the TF300 when I wanted some to stay on the device. JetAudio looks good. Haven't tried much else for music.
I definitely want to get a case for it. It is SOOoooo thin and light, I'm afraid I'm going to drop it. I need a case that does equally well as portrait and as landscape because some stuff I do on the tablet seems pinned to certain screen orientation. I'm kinda diggin' the Caseen Skinny case, but I don't see it in navy blue right now.
KEYBOARD DOCK.... I'm torn as to whether or not I want one. I'm really not looking for a laptop replacement as I don't have a laptop to begin with. The extra battery power is an attractive incentive, but.... not sure I want to go this route yet. If I had wanted a netbook I would have bought a netbook. This one is a "wait and see".
OH! And I want to get an microSD card. Not sure I need a 32gig one. But may get a 32gig for the TF300 and a 16gig for my phone. Or maybe the other way around or 16gb for each of them.... *sigh* .... I think sometimes my butt gets sore from sitting on the fence for so long.
ROTTING.... not sure what I gain by rooting this tablet. I gained a LOT by rooting the Kindle Fire and flashing a new ROM on it. But if the TF300T is serving my needs then.... what would I gain by rooting it at this point?

For me the stock Asus ROM experience just isn't good enough. The IO performance just kills things at times. The only way to get really stellar performance was to unlock the bootloader and flash a custom ROM and kernel. Since I tried that I haven't looked back. Currently running clean ROM and unters kernel. The performance difference is very noticeable.

I got mine for christmas too
unlocked mine mostly for root looking at CM10.1 and/or an Arch or Ubuntu dual boot
I'm also torn on getting the dock
if I don't I'll get the usb adapter
what would sell me on it is if I could somehow connect other devices to its keyboard over BT
I figure the adapter's like $20 a good BT keyboard is like $30 and the battery pack is worth like $30 or $40 so the question is; is the portability of a keyboard setup with a usb port worth $10? probably. (you can find the docks on sale for $100 lots of places [bestbuy, amazon, newegg, etc]
that's assuming you want a keyboard, a usb port, and a portable charger
you could also make a poor argument for the full sd slot
I feel like if you don't have those things there is still a good argument for it in addition to basically becoming a netbook
(I actually wanted a chromebook [the arm based one] but everywhere was sold out so I got this instead)

and a quick google search says that using an android device as a bt keyboard works

It didn't feel as fast to me on the stock kernel. I don't think untermench has updated his kernel to work with 4.2 yet but I might be wrong about that.

you could also make a poor argument for the full sd slot
I feel like if you don't have those things there is still a good argument for it in addition to basically becoming a netbook
(I actually wanted a chromebook [the arm based one] but everywhere was sold out so I got this instead)
I'm a broke teenager so I don't really have the option (yet)
and a quick google search says that using an android device as a bt keyboard works

I'd recommend the dock. It's really handy, and the keyboard is much easier to get used to than I thought.
Side note, I was actually gonna get the Chromebook, too. Still considering it, instead, but since I got this tab+dock for ~$400 w/ tax, the difference would be about $100 after tax...

If you haven't yet unlocked, like me, I've noticed nova launcher has considerably sped up my pad. I rooted out the box and have familiarly with recoveries and roms from my galaxy nexus but the pad is a little more delicate when it comes to that. My advice take your time and read up before doing anything
As for rooting on the stock rom, you can use titanium backup to perform full backups and root explorer to modify your build.prop file for some speed tweaks and even delete system apps. Just make sure you make backups and know what you are doing or you won't be able to get ota updates anymore. Read read and read more first

I bought the dock and glad I did. Not only does if extend the battery life, it also has a USB port and a full size sd slot. The dock also has quite a few short cuts that come in very handy. If I had to do it again knowing what I know now, I'd still spend the money for the dock. Best Buy has them on sale for around $79.

I didnt see as much benefit in rooting either but the slow performance was kind of annoying.
But then I went to try on the launchers. The performance was unacceptable!
Moved onto browser2ram and cleanrom 1.8GHz OC. I love this thing now.

I picked up the black docking station at best buy for $49.00 yesterdday. Waiting on my TF300B1, pick it up this coming week, they didn't have any in stock so i had to order it. $349 for 32gb unit didn't sound too bad at all.

That's not bad. I paid $299 for mine but I got it around Black Friday . They're usually around 399 so it looks like you did pretty good.

Thinking of investing in one of these..

I'm in the market for a new 10 inch tablet. Its either between this or a Nexus 10. I'm a little weary on getting the TF300 for some of the issues I've read about. Just would like to hear if anyone has any problems with it or not, and if so, are they bearable or fixable?
Might also want to add that I'm generally very lenient when it comes to bugs..but, having a N7, I've kind of spoiled myself lol

Ive had mine since June 2012 and I've read about people with many issues but none of that for me. I unlocked it and I am running cm10.1 and I just love it.

I'm a little obsessed with buying new gadgets after around six months, so I'd really like this to last a while. Obviously it can hold against the test of time pretty well if its lasted almost a year for you lol

On the stock rom the tf300t is almost ubearable. I hardly ever used the tablet.
I recently bit the bullet unlocked installed twrp recovery and cleanrom. It runs amazingly fast and smooth now. I was shocked when I first used cleanrom, I wasn't expecting such a vast improvement. Now I use it more than my pc.
I have the keyboard dock and would recommend it to everyone even if it's just for the additional battery life. The keyboard is easy to use and works well with a wireless mouse.
White tf300t and dock, 32gb tablet, 64 gb micro sd and 1tb white portable HD & white USB card reader / usb hub.
Only issue I have had with cleanrom is my EA Games Real Racing 2 and NFSMW won't install from the market, other than that everything else is perfect.
Word of warning if you unlock and install twrp (or cmw ... twrp is recommended) NEVER do a full wipe from the Asus recovery or you'll likely end up with a brick. To avoid this I always do a reboot into recovery rather than entering recovery when the tablet is booting (Just in case I accidentally stuff up).
Keyboard dock is great for typing, not as good as a dedicated desktop keyboard but plenty good for lecture notes etc. I tend to use a wireless mouse rather than the trackpad.
The stock Asus software is actually quite useful. I keep applocker mynet and a few others when I install a custom rom...
I have a cheap $7 10 inch tablet sleeve I bought from Kmart a cheap set of screen protectors.. I am careful with the tablet but not obsesively so. No issues with it hardware wise (I keep mine overclocked to 1.6 all day everyday).

If we're being honest, it would be unlocked and ROM'd by the end of the night were I to get it lol. So it handles external hard drives well?
I wasn't even aware the keyboard dock had a track pad on it. How well is the sound on it while docked/in landscape?

As far as handling external hard drives, I have had no problems transferring backups of my DVDs through the USB dongle from a 2TB NTFS HD to the tablet.

I bought a 1TB laptop drive from my local PC shop and a cheap HD enclosure from eBay .. I simply searched for a white one to match my Tablet. Yeh it handles the hard drives really well.
I have a 8 TB hard drive enclosure that has 4 x 2 TB drives ... it uses USB through 1 USB port and allows the drives to show as 1x 8 gb drive or 4 x 2 gb drives... works great on windows 7 I have it set up as 4 seperate drives. It only showed as 1 x 2TB drive on the tablet (well it was worth a shot)...only picked up the first drive in the enclosure.
I use FX Explorer with the additional add ons (I coughed up the $ for these as the app is that good) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nextapp.fx&hl=en .. I access my drives on the PC via wifi using this app (looks great on the tablet).
Sound from the speakers sound great... movies can be a bit soft, depends on how you encode them.
My son is using the tablet each day for taking notes for his programming course. He touch types and thinks the keyboard is great. The additional battery life is an added bonus

This is the first Android device that I have NOT rooted.
With the ability to DISABLE apps a standard feature in Jelly Bean, I just didn't feel like messing aroun d with it since the tab runs REALLY WELL IMO with the Stock Rom on it.
I love this thing. It's plenty fast enough, runs everything I throw at it.
Also agree the Keyboard is nice even thought I RARELY ever use mine. I keep thinking about selling it while I could still get a few bucks for it, but... I just can't quite part with it.
I have a 16GB Pad, with a 16GB card in it. In the dock I have a 32GB card. I take my SD Card from my camera and put it in the dock, and bam, there are my pics.
Not to mention when the tab gets low on battery, I will just put it on the dock for 20 minutes. It sucks the juice out of the dock and is charged again. Very nice feature.

How do you get yours running "really well"? I'm on stock as well - rather because I don't wanna unlock it before knowing, if ASUS will make nvflash possible or not - and with everyday using it the urge to flash a custom rom gets bigger.
I expect a 1,3ghz quadcore tegra to run a bit smoother and faster - but on stock rom it just doesn't really run smooth and fast...
For example: I use a app to record my bloodpressure over the day - doesn't really run that smooth on my tf300. Frankly, it runs a lot smoother on my desire hd. And I don't think a 1ghz cpu can beat a 1,3ghz quadcore
Also, the biggest disadvantage of stock rom: the microsd card is just a removable storage...if you have a lot of apps on a 16gb tf300 you'll experience insufficient storage here and there, especially when you're having games on it that require around a gb of space for their data.
As soon as I know whether the petition was successful or not I'll get rid of this lame stock rom and try clean rom

I totally agree with you. I have not had any issues at all with my tf300. I changed a few settings in developer options and disabled a few apps (stock browser for one), but other than that, I have found it runs really well on stock everything.
If possible, could someone post before and after actual usage videos of stock and then a custom rom? Or point me in that direction? I've done searches and all I get are benchmarks, which are decent to show raw performance, but I would like to see real world performance differences (such as web browsing, or games loading and running on stock and then custom) before I take the plunge of unlocking, rooting and voiding.

I can't find any comparison videos, but there's plenty custom ROM and stock videos on YouTube..maybe can try to judge from there?
Also, on my front, I found a really cheap one on amazon and am having a hard time keeping myself away from it. I reckon if there are problems with it, there's nothing the XDA community can't solve, right?
