One thing I liked about the iPhone is the notification center, is there any app that has the same functionality? Like setting custom notifications for each app

I'm confused. Isn't the iPhone's notification center a crappier version of android's notification bar?

Most apps will let you set notification sounds, vibrations and light in the settings. LightFlow will let you do it too if you buy it. Is that what you want?

No I don't mean the drop down menu, I mean the notification center in the settings

Whereas Apple put it all in one place, Android has it in each app so you go into the app settings and set up the notification settings there. There is no 'all-in-one' solution to handle all notification settings although apps that sync data should have an entry in Settings to go straight into the sync settings

Is it possible to make some app notifications show on the right side near battery, Wi-Fi, ect? Like an IM app that is always in the notification tray.
Thanks!

It's possible. But unfortunately I don't think there are any roms on there that is able to do that. Personally, I think it would look kinda weird if it was on the right side.
Is it me or the noLed app is not working on this device.

Mine is working but for some reason I can't use the default "messages" notification. I have to use the specific one for handcent. It was also causing some issues with my gallery and stock browser.

I didn't realize people are still using this after SIII since we DO have an LED notification light and apps like Light Flow and Light Manager to control them now.... any reason I'm not understanding? Feeling nostalgic or are more of a visual learner preferring to see the icon instead of a flashing light?

For me I like the larger, brighter, moving icon that catches my attention faster than a single LED. To each their own though.

Of course, just wondering! Thanks for your insight :good:
Can you look at the led light and tell whether an incoming message is Gmail or a text? NoLed has icon notification that lets you know what is coming vs just a blinking light.

I can tell the difference. I use Handcent SMS and it allows for custom LED notifcations, also a few roms had custom led color features.

If you had searched for Light Flow or Light Manager, you'd know that those apps are designed specifically to change the notification lights to tell you what app is has a notification.... So.... Yeah, there's that.... Hmmm

I recall WillyJay having quite the selection of color notifications (SMS, Gmail being the main ones I enjoyed) mods for the Galaxy Nexus. I'm curious to know if they're available for the Nexus4. I've never been a fan of gray notifications. Thank you in advance.

I was referring to the notification icons in the status bar. Sorry if I was unclear. I appreciate the response though.

I don't know bout the the notification icon itself (though Apex Launcer + Apex Notifier will actually append a badge on the application icons if I have any pending messages), but this is built into SlimBean if you want to change the color of the notification LED per app without using a 3rd party app.
Anyone know of a few good ones out there? I've tried a few but they didn't seem to work. I'm tired of the ugly message box when I get a text etc.

That's one of the ones I tried but it was weird. It would notify me of missed calls but I would still get the stock SMS notification (yellow box) also, the missed calls would only clear from my lock screen if I pulled down my notification bar. I'll give it another shot.

I just tried this one. I added email, missed calls and SMS but I'm still getting the stock text message notification. It is showing me email though.

I was able to get the dash clock one to work but how do I make it my default lock screen? Every time I lock my phone it goes back to the stock lock screen. When I long press the lock screen I can cycle between the 2 lock screens but I can't "trash" the stock one like I can the dash clock one. I also can't change the order of them. I though maybe if I placed the dash clock in front of the stock it would set as default...no dice.

Move the dash clock one all the way to the right.

You can try Knock2+ It's very similar to Active Display.

what rom are you on? if there is an option in the lockscreen settings to use aosp or touchwiz lockscreen choose touchwiz and on your lockscreen touch and hold the clock you want to remove and remove it. click the plus sign symbol and add dashclock. go into your messaging app, go into settings and uncheck the option to "preview message". that should fix your problem
I used lockerpro lock screen it works really good. Also used dynamic notifications its simple and just like the moto x active notifications. I don't use anything anymore just stock light notification.

As said before it is available in KitKat. I guess full-screen depends on album art? Here's a pic.

Ah thanks. OK it looks the same like on my nexus. I thought maybe in combination with the active notification screen it would look different

Active Notifications only light the portion fo the screen with the clock, and the text for the notification. It does not show ongoing notifications (that I've seen, yet).
I can say that very much like the screen shot posted by @RenSoAbrupt, Pandora looks the same. It fills the entire background with the album art of the song that is playing.
And desktop is full screen as well? Is Gel.Apk needed

Not sure what you mean by desktop...
I mean the transparent navigation and status bar on the home screen. For my nexus 4 I need the GEL.apk

I use Gravity Box for transparency.
