That poll doesn't look official at all. The post is almost impossible to read because of grammar. It will also get nailed hard for copyright since it likely doesn't have the permission of the original game developers.

FYI: Here is an email I sent to gameloft and the reply. Hope this helps some people, sure made me happy!
Hello Aaron,
Games will be available for your Evo shortly through and Gameloft.com, the Sprint Zone icon that appears on the home screen of your device.
We hope to have them live in the next two weeks.
Thank you for your continued support

Subject: Android Games
Hello,
I recently bought a Sprint HTC Evo and I want to buy some gameloft games for it because I LOVE gameloft games I have a bunch on my Palm Pre. Anyways, when I go to the website the only option is for Verizon droid, Do I just select that even though Im on Sprint? If not how do I buy and download some gameloft games?
Sounds pretty good

just a random q... How good is the gpu on the evo? Will we just get the standard gameloft ports or actual games made specifically for it like the iphone?

the iPhone is a different beast...limited hardware specs to design for allows games to be designed for just it. Android is such a diverse market, I would doubt games would be designed "just for the evo". The Evo's market share isn't THAT big.
However, a number of newer android devices *are* getting good graphics chips in them (including the evo) and there are already games out there that have stated they will not work well on older hardware (Pre-N1 basically).
Thanks for the info...;
Just wondering since I had not heard to much discussion about it.. Personally I think those gameloft games are usually junk.. lets see though

Some of them are really good, Westside (It's like Grand Theft Auto) And Hero of Sparta are pretty awesome, Gameloft actually has some of the best games out there for phones. I just don't understand why they wont put them on the marketplace instead of only selling them through thier website they would sell tons more if more people knew about them and they could easily get them from the marketplace.
I've been playing dungeon hunter all day... Works great.

I don't know why they don't use the market either, or have demos.

gameloft games r not gonna b as good as the iphone's gameloft games for the evo.iphone has its own seperate GPU for 3d games thats y gameloft games on iphone r pretty heavy IPA files from 50mb to 200 mega bytes and very quality 3d graphics, i just WISH that HTC one day puts its own GPU as well, for the heavy 3d games.
hey i just hit gameloft.com from my evo and there are a bunch of games now available for purchase, 5 bucks each. it's not all of the android games though, missing dungeon hunter for example. but looks like u can get nova and gangstar

Maybe need to make this sticky. As people may ask about this.
I imagine though that specific versions will be required. I have tried a few of these and the gaming controls are not supported, whereas the ones listed that come with the device all work fine.

Exactly, so how can you tell which version is specific on the market. I don't really want to pay for a game I already own!

I don't think there will be special "Xperia Play" Versions of the games. Most likely, the developer will just add support for the controls in an update of the game and mention it in the game's description.
Yeh hopefully they do the updates soon!

Some are and some arent. In android market search for "XPERIA PLAY optimized". Or click the Xperia Play app and click the little market app in the top right corner.
Will show you if you need the new ones or not.
I know that the Gameloft ones just need to be installed from the latest apk off there site.
As for new games coming to the Xperia Play, i only have one request... Nay,demand!

I had just opened a thread in the Apps and Themes forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?goto=newpost&t=1268796
It seems to be a nice roster, filled with good old RPG's to the brim (Arc the Lad, Alundra, Popolocrois, Wild Arms...) Just what we were asking for.
I wonder if they're still going to use the native 1.0.1 emulator. Or an improved one.

This is huge
We bought this device because it was a great android smatphone that provided us with the best gaming experience due to it's physical buttons, and now look what we've got!!
I mean this totally changes everything. People always dreamed of a real psp phone! And it's finally happening
Actually it isn't, I got mislead by Popolocrois. It's orignally a PSX game, but since it only got released outside of Japan in its PSP version, I thought it was a PSP title.
Sounds like a step in the right direction
This news is great, funny though, I couldn't tell if your wan was saying PS 3 SDK or PS Suite SDK, lololol!
I think they will release PSP Ports to us in the future.
Hmmm, definitely a step in the right direction, although a few of those games are already available on the Android store, and I haven't even heard of a handful of them (I'd have trouble even pronouncing the titles ), and some are obviously original titles. The linked article also suggests that these titles are for the Japanese market so the list may change when it's released everywhere else...we could get different games or we might just get a truncated list.
But I mean Magical Dice Kids? Really?
I think in the next round of updates it's time they brought some more well-known PSX titles to the market...stuff like ridge racer or gran turismo, some final fantasy titles, twisted metal, tekken, metal gear, god of war...they need to bring out some more Playstation recognisable titles for these Playstation certified devices. I'm not convinced people are buying these devices to play games like I.Q Intelligent Qube. They sound like games you'd buy for a DS, not a PS device.
This is a good start but the next step in what titles are released will be crucial. New games also need to be coming in regularly.

Dude you have some strong points here, however, what's making me really positive about this whole thing is that the xperia play and the PS Vita will have access to the same store! Which means the future of the play is bright because we know as a fact that Sony will keep pushing great games for the Vita and since that's the case this means that both Sony and Sony Ericsson will keep optimising this device. While SE will keep updating the regular android software, hopefully till icecream. Sony on the other hand will keep working on bringing new games to the market + the fact that a lot of android games are being optimised for the play lately.
This device has huge potential and a brighter future. I seriously consider it one of the best android devices you could get today, it's a great package of both multimedia and gaming.
I don't regret for one second choosing the play over all these dual core phones which will be missing all the fun we play owners will have just to brag about a processor that's still not using it's full potentiol due to the lack of software support.
Cheers

Thing is due to hardware differences between the Play and the Vita we'll no doubt see games come out for the Vita that don't make it to the Play. That's what I'm a bit worried about. My point still stands that they need to get their arses into gear and release more recognisable Playstation games, and on a regular basis, for this service to have any hope of being remotely successful.
Still, a good point.

Only time will tell how great the PS store for the xperia play store will really be! What makes me optimistic though is that since Sony included the play with their collection ( tablets + Vita) this for me is a very good sign that they will take care of it.
Fingers crossed
My thoughts are it will come some games are are already ported. Reason for porting? Since pspvita came psp games were being sold less now how r they going to pick up slack for psp games easy amdroid!
psvita*. excellent theory good sir
thank you
we are update now

Psp games are getting cheaper cause the PSVita (and games are being launched)
So the low prices will be sold on the android market as well, therefore sony still makes some good money from android users on older PSP games.
jeah but it is also good for us. we have full price psp games with high qualety grafics and gameplay. I never had a psp so the games are like brand new for me.
