I've dropped mine at least 10 times alone during the times I'm at the gym working out and still no damage to my phone, or even the bumper lol.
It looks great, feels great, and provides good enough protection. Just don't drop it off of ladders.

I've tried a couple other cases but so far the bumper is the best quality. and it's made from LG. good.

I've dropped mine once and no problem, but it really depends on how it lands IMO. If suppose you were to drop the phone and something pointy hits the screen or the backside, I'm sure there might be some damage. But the way phones are, they "usually" land on one of the corners first (emphasis on the word "usually"). We can tell you all day that the bumper is enough protection, but it would just be your luck that once you get one, and drop it for the first time, it lands on some kind of object hitting the screen or backside first.

Well worth it. I think LG made the buttons on N4 hard to press so we buy bumper, well... I bought it for that reason. Without the bumper, the power button feels weird to press... I use the bumper just for the great button feedback or else it feels weird in my hands.

Has anyone tried this case:

I think the Poetic $10 bumper is worth it (even more so when it was only $6). It's a bit smaller so feels more comfortable in the hand, but I think protects it just as well as the bigger OEM bumper. And only half the cost.
The OEM bumper does have a more premium feeling build quality. But the Poetic bumper fits perfectly and the buttons work great. So seems like a better value.

Don't know about protect against drops because I don't drop my phone, but the official bumper is sick! I almost wish the real phone had these sides.

Yes I have it I don't particularly like the way the buttons feel (kinda hard to press) but it's still a good cover

i dropped mine on a concrete floor in an underground parking lot. Bumper sustained minor marks but no damage to phone. I've used both Poetic (much cheaper) and the counterfeit dx-box bumper. They both pale in comparison to stock bumper. Yes, the stock bumper is expensive but no regrets in buying it. It looks so much better than any case out there.

I bought the LG bumper at release, sold it for a profit, got a replica, but promptly rebought the LG bumper (now that the hype has passed) and sold the replica. Yes the replicas have the look, but like most replica products, just simply doesn't have the same fit and finish as the real deal. If you're ok with the wider feel the LG bumper has on the Nexus 4, then I'd say the genuine bumper is well worth it. It's the most expensive case I've ever bought for a phone, and the only case I've actually bothered to buy twice to boot.

+1 Its worth the extra money and you guys know I've bought and tried every bumper out there. Only reason I use the replicas so much is cause of the colors. The only replica I have that fits like the OEM ones is my blue replica (just got lucky I guess). But then again the replicas are about half the price of a OEM one so I dunno Lol. Overall the OEM is the best case I've ever bought for a phone quality, looks and fit wise.

I went from poetic bumper to LG to poetic again. Looks wise, the official bumper looks like it's part of the phone. But I tend to go back to the poetic because it keeps the phone thin. Poetic has great customer service to boot.

Hmmm I would say a mix. The band is plastic and feels lil like the bezel. The tpu rubber part feels kinda like the sides of the n4 behind the bezel just with the etching done for grip. The black part around the screen feels the same just smooth without the etching. You can tell it was designed by the same designer as the N4 cause it looks like its part of the phone. Whereas the poetic bumper u can tell u have a case on. This is why I love my lg bumper cause it looks like I don't have a case on  IMHO

+1 to this. I bought both and IMO the Poetic is the winner.
Feels much better in the hand due to the smoother edges.
Little slimmer than the official in both width and depth.
Sticks to surfaces better due to the rubber they use.
The USB port opening isn't as deep making it easier to the cables with larger ends.
And I also found the material it less slippery than the official bumper.
1/2 the price of the official bumper.
The only thing the official LG bumper is better at is looks and button feedback.

I prefer the way the poetic bumper looks and feels.. To me the lg bumper is more obvious to tell that you have a case on, Cuz no phone should be that wide.. I have somewhat big hands, and it just feels unnatural to hold.. And it gets dirty on the etched sides from holding over time, and is very difficult to clean because of the etching.. With the poetic, just wipe and you're done.. That's my take on them, anyways.

Yea, but I'm not going for looks. I just want to know if this thing is gonna protect the this fragile, fragile, fragile phone from drop of about 3-5 feet. I don't want to speed 300+ in this phone and then have it break.

Whats D Nexus⁴ Case Ure Using? Plan To Get Nicer Ones :D

Lets discuss on the casings for Nexus⁴ attactive(Cool Design) ones and protective(Flip Cases) ones! Please do provide names or links or pictures for it
Nexus⁴ is indeed a hot device, its worth my waiting like a drug addict everyday bugging my gmail for the shipping notification.
there r few cases about the glass at the back experiencing minor cracks,
so i think its better to protect it even though it looks gorgeous without casing and so hard to get a new one
i already had this Nillkin Flip Case at Tmall on standby, bought it from china's "amazon", tmall.com, their original factory's online store
Then i saw Cruzerlite's Androidified A2 TPU Case For Nexus⁴(Teal) attracted by its Android design,
while scrolling around i saw another nice oneXdadevelopers's CASE for Nexus⁴, also by Cruzerlite.
Both are looking cool, but before i buy them i wanna know if there are other casings with Cool Designs out there? Since i chose Cruzerlite because of its designs. I want my phone to look nice even with cases on.
I also need Flip Cases (Book Style)(prefer leather ones, because Nillkin's surface didnt convice me and it gets dirty easily those who had Nillkin flip case will know about this) and as what you all know, Flip Cases for Nexus 4 is extremely hard to find
what i want is 1 Cool Looking, and 1 Flip Case(Book Style) , both are hard to find,
other casings like diztronics' simple design or other cases that i found in this forum board even though they may give protection to device but their design didnt appeal to me(not to insult)
thats why i wanna find out if there are better ones, those who knows of Cool Looking, and Flip Case please do tell me about it, simple user review if possible :highfive:
I too have the xda case on order even though I have a set up I am currently satisfied with. I have now, the Diztronic Ultra hard thin that doesn't cover the top or bottom of the phone like the Diztronic TPU does. It works for me because I can now use the Seidio Surface spring holster made for the GNEX without much of an issue. The thiness of the shell works for me but not for all, so you'll need to decide what you are comfortable with.
According to your list, you are looking at tpu all the way. For the choices listed, which I have most of them except for the Cruzerlite models, I would go for the Diztronic tpu. It's pretty darn thin and the only negative is that the logo on the tpu is a bit glossy for my taste, but you get used to it . Happy shopping!

urm not necessarily tpu, im looking towards more good appearance cases thats what cruzerlite design attracted me
my plan is to use 1 nice looking flipcase for full protection, and another nice looking which only covers back  as long as its looking good even when not naked :highfive:
I love my poetic bumper, I had an sline tpu case and it was ok but the power button became increasingly difficult to press.

I got the Poetic case when it was for under $4 and I absolutely love it! I am wallet-free as of now, since all I carry is the phone and the case which holds 3 cards and cash. It takes time for the leather to stretch and accomodate 3 cards, but now its the best thing I bought, well, after my N4 lol
The only downer is its a pain to use this case by just one hand, and taking a picture without the aid of the other hand is next to impossible.
So I've ordered the amCase(TM) Slim fit case for Google Nexus 4 -Matte Black for under $3 including shipping. Should be here tomorrow/Tuesday, so will update my post.

Thin hard case with decent grip?

I have the diztronic tpu, but it just seems to add too much bulk for my taste, and it's slippy as hell. I have better grip without a case.
I have searched a lot here and Google, but no one really seems to talk about any of the hard cases having decent texture that helps with grip.
Are there any options that I have missed?

It also look's very nice, you can find some pics, reviews and comparisons here on XDA. I'm 100% satisfied with it
I love my Diztronic case! :silly:

http://www.amazon.com/Matte-Rearth-...&qid=1366551372&sr=8-19&keywords=nexus+4+case
This is what you want: Poetic Palette SLIM
Oh the diztronic is a great don't get me wrong, and I only use tpu cases (diztronic, s-line, cruzerlite) on my other phones. I just find that unlike my last phone (one x) the nexus 4 is a little too bulky with a tpu case on it. Plus the finish on is just soooo slippery.
I have never used a hard case before since they seem to add very little protection compared to tpu, but I want to keep the nexus as thin and light as possible. While still giving decent protection to the screen.
Unlike a lot of people I don't care if my phone itself gets a scratch or ding in the casing of the phone. Only thing I really care about is keeping the screen as perfect as possible.

Feel is great, and it will prevent the back and sides from getting scratched, but offers little protection from drops (especially if it lands on the bottom or top as there is not much of those areas that are covered). No real shock absorption either.
Has anyone seen a review or tried one of these cases?

Well, that doesn't seem all that surprising with so many reports from folks who have problems with the phone sticking to the orb. Mine sticks great to a slick surface. Not so much to a porous one.
Another vote for the Meifeng. I gave my original to a friend because I was on the whole bumper bandwagon. I missed it so much I ordered a new one. Great feeling in the hand. Not so great with the top/bottom protection but it's grippy so hopefully you won't drop it.

what are the best bumper cases?

Hello,
so as the title says, what are the best bumper cases from your experience?
When i got my n4 i bought a cheapo bumper from ebay that looked like the original. It was kinda good but the gray plastic was too firm and couldn't take any bending so it started to crack and fall out. (serves me right for trying to save a few pennies from the start)
i heard that poetic bumper is kinda nice but they had problems with durability at first, is that right?
Using the original bumper since I pre-order the phone same time on the first batch when it went on sale on the playstore... still working like it should...

You don't need to send it back for a replacement. They let you keep the broken one and sends you a new one without question, just contact them on Amazon. All Poetic cases come with two-year warranty. Poetic's newest revision fixed the problem and no longer has durability problems.
For the OEM stock bumper I had a problem where the USB charger would crack and I never dropped my phone or bumper case.
Those are the only two bumpers you can choose from unfortunately. If you want to save money, you can try and get a replica version of the LG bumper.

The main difference between the two bumpers is that:
Poetic: Less bulky compared to the LG OEM (less thick)
LG Bumper: the 'click' buttons are really nice to use and makes it super easy to access the buttons whereas the Poetic ones aren't as nice (but they're usable)
Both are great choices though.

I got the case you are considering but it has yet to arrive in the post which is annoying as i won't take my N4 outside without some sort of case.
Will let you know once i get it which should hopefully be later today or tomorrow.
There is no case that won't compromise its looks, simple as that. Even with the Ringke Fusion.. sure, you can see the back, but through plastic. And the rest is still TPU.. and in reality it doesn't look as flawless and nice as in the renders. There's always a compromise.
You could go for more minimalistic cases such as the quicksand ones. I'm currently using one of them and I really like its look and feel because it doesn't change it as much (I also have a diztronic tpu case which I'll only be using for when I expect rougher conditions, e.g. travel, hiking or whatever). But it comes at the cost of less protection for the device.
It's a matter of what you prioritize and what risks you're willing to take for better look and feel.

If you're concerned about shipping time, there should be lots of other places to buy them. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2030443 this is another thread on that kind of case.. I'd expect them all to be pretty much if not exactly the same

that is one ugly cheap case...
It's certainly cheap, but I much prefer it to my diztronic tpu case (http://tpu-cases.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=46_76&products_id=303). The material feels very nice and not plastic-y (a bit like jeans, I'd say) and it hardly adds any bulk, which tpu cases do. I also really dislike the shiny border around the edge most tpu cases have, cause that does look pretty cheap.
I personally ordered it cause I was looking for a different case and this one seemed like a very low-risk option, and I ended up liking it a lot. Your mileage may vary, obviously.

I had a similar type case on my nexus for a few months and it was great. Had a really great feel to it and it actually looks pretty darn sharp when it's on the phone. Doesn't look cheap at all. :good:
thanks, but I think I'll stick with the Ringke Fusion case. I like the clear back.
U can't go wrong with the oem bumper. It offers protection on all edges and prevents both front and back from laying directly on surfaces. I've had it on my white N4 since purchase and i don't have a scratch. Not to mention I am constantly subject to compliments and questions peeked by its sexy appearance.

I am always partial to the Ringke slim cases. I've had them on my last few phones

I personally would go with bumper case and maybe add a screen protector on both sides (something like Ghost Armor or Zagg or dBrand skin if you want to go a bit more expensive, OR just get something like XtremeGuard for the back for a cheap alternative - XtremeGuard costs me about $2 for front and back  )

For me and is what I use.
I reallu glad with bumper case from poetic.
Your phone keep with the original look protected, if you want a litle more prtection 2 skins one on the back and other on the front.
Box Wave Bamboo case! Only case I have kept on a phone longer than a week! Now going for two months.

Ringke Slim or Poetic Pallete case.
Hands down two best slim cases. (My opinion lol)

Ditto. Unless you're extraordinarily clumsy, the OEM bumper should provide plenty of protection. I've had my Nexus 4 with bumper since December of last year and it has survived many drops. It's even survived a drop onto concrete, complete with a few bounces, with no scratch. The crack that my Nexus 4 has came from when I took the case off momentarily and then it dropped about a foot and a half onto the soft part of an open binder. >_<
OEM bumper + front and back clear skins. Everything else is hideous.
Currently using the Incipio Feather, but I have to admit that the N4 pretty much only looks good caseless.
Tried the official bumper, but it just didn't stick either.

Exactly. Coming from a person who has never liked or had cases on their devices - I just got the OEM bumper in the mail yesterday, and I'm stunned at how good it looks. It actually makes the phone look nicer with the aluminium accents, and protects it rather well.
What do you suggest?
Alright so I'm a little late to the Nexus 4 party, but after much delay, I finally decided to upgrade from my archaic Vibrant and order a shiny new N4. Although it hasn't come in just yet, I was interested to know what cases you guys might suggest. You see here's my dilemma... I know for a fact that the Ringke Slim and other like cases are a major no-no for me. They offer too little protection and from what I've heard, leave the very top and bottom of the device exposed. I would get the OEM bumper as it's very attractive, but I've read many, many, many reviews that note its fragility--specifically around the USB port, which apparently is prone to cracking. I'm also considering the Ringke Fusion as it seems to be a popular choice, or the possibility of going with a wallet style case, as I won't need a screen protector then.
However I'm very torn, as there are so many options and so many drawbacks...
What do you guys think? Is the OEM bumper really all that fragile? Does it break as a result of removing the phone from it or does it crack completely on its own? Should I not even consider the OEM bumper case and go with something much more durable (i.e. the Ringke Fusion, wallet case)? Should I just go naked!?!? (referring to the phone of course )
Thanks in advance! Looking forward to hearing some feedback!

[Q] A good case for the N4 ?

I'm looking for a good looking case for my nexus, slim but that would provide decent protection.
Any ideas ?

Thanks ! is it ok with taking falls ?
INCIPIO case
No slim case is going to protect your phone from a fall. The best it can do is stop the back of your phone from getting scratches. If your phone survives a fall with a slim case, chances are that it would have survived even without the case.

I have tried quite a few cases for the nexus 4 and I settled on the cruzerlite a2 case. Gives good grip and will protect the phone from mirror falls. The cut outs are perfect too so volume and power buttons are easy to access.
If you want something a little more professional looking then the fusion case is the other case I would recommend.

For everyday use Ringke Fusión. For drop protection Ballistic SG or Boxwave Resolute.

I dropped my phone earlier this week, about 2-3 feet high with OEM bumper, it survived it well.

Ringke Fusion or Ringke Slim
Check it on Amazon :cyclops:
Anyone seen this?
http://www.amazon.com/RINGKE-Selling-Absorption-Scratch-Premium/dp/B00B7QGT6U
It has the option to change the model to: Nexus 5 (2013 model), when you click on it you'll be suprised.

I have the Ballistic Case. Its the only one I could find that offered any sort of real protection. I wish Gumdrop would start making a N4 case.

Amazon troll is right. From everything I've heard, the N5 will be less rounded, not more so.
I just bought on Ebay the Ringke Slim Case (before I had a TPU case) for 10$ on sale (the price is more or less, not remember precisely), and it's fantastic! Feels really nice in hand and to see it! Surely it's not the most secure, but if your careful it will be just fine.. I preferred to the TPU one because it's thinner and lighter, so it even fit better in the pockets! XD
Diztronic tpu protected my Nexus from a few falls.
Have to agree, Rearth slim case is best. If you put paper or something in between the phone and the case it makes a tight fit, which feels like it helps with falls. I have dropped my Nexus from 4 or 5 feet onto pavement and the slim case hasn't failed me (surprisingly). The matte feeling also makes it easier to grip the phone.
Agreement on the Rearth Ringke Slim. Subtle and remains true to the slim design of the Nexus 4. It's pretty smooth, but somehow manages to keep the phone secure in my hand. I'd recommend it to anyone.
