Hey everyone,
Just thought I'd introduce myself and let everyone know a little about who your forum mod is. I'm an Epic 4G user, and a theme developer for said phone. I'm looking forward to working with you guys, and I'm looking toward cooperation and production with this thread! Thanks guys, and feel free to post here as an off topic general post

Yes! Cursing probably breaks the rules. I do that. I am an adult man though, so I feel as though I am entitled to say that, although I curse rarely on the forums, it feels needed sometimes. I apologize a head of time.

Good to have you onboard as mod! My eyes were starting to hurt from all the riffraff posts scattered between the nice geeky dev posts Looking forward to some nice stuff being developed and even doing some of my own hacking for this phone. Happy holidays!

Well, it is similar to the Epic, only AOSP. So we'll see

Finally a mod. Question for you since you make themes: Is Pandapp a good way to develop themes for Froyo and Gingerbread? Or is it outdated.
What method do you use?

For themes my main tools are:
Apk manager 4.9
Photoshop
7zip
Android SDK

wassup boss,
happy holidays and what not, hoping to get my hands on the nexus S in about 2 weeks. Nice to know there is a guy in charge. Have you seen some of the baiting and trolling and swearing.. it was entertaining to say the least, but surely not conducive to what we want to learn here.
heres to hoping you enjoy your work as a mod, and maybe find some time to make us some nice themes too.

Leaving the Atrix....

i now have the SGSII, just got it today and loving it, i've also moved to Sprint due to better service plan, annnnd i get a 25% discount on my bill cause of my job, i loved the atrix but it was time to move on to Sprint to help myself out budget wise, but i hope yall get ICS and more roms(hopefully an official version of CM7) it's been great yall
and no this wasn't meant to steer anybody away from the atrix, just saying goodbye and thanx for all the help and laughs yall, keep it up

It's too bad XDA is overrun with assholes. If you don't care he's leaving, then don't reply and his post will quickly fall the bottom and no one has to read it. Take your insecurities out on someone in real life; see how that works out for you.
G1-8701, peace out. Enjoy your new phone. Though, you should really check out the new Atrix 2. It's way underrated and the sleeper phone of the year (or couple months, whatever it turns out to be).

On so many levels, XDA used to be so much different. (AKA a lot friendlier)
The people trolling in threads and others retaliating with profanity is exactly why we are seeing more and more devs leaving.
We need to have more "community" going on around here. If you don't like a thread, please fight the urge to ignore it instead of getting into a flame war.
And on that note, can we please lock this up?...

Agreed. I tried making a thread to get people too come togther and acomplish something for the betterment of our device and of course same deal someone had too come in and run there mouth. I should have ignored him but spoke my mind and now my thread is closed. Come on people were all on here because we like our device not too argur and pick fights with people.

[IDEA] I've had an idea for our phones [IDEA]

Hey all,
I'm not trying to force the Devs into anything, or try to pressure them, I've simply opened this thread to see who thinks that it would be a good idea, if anyone is offended by this post, or thinks that they should try to flame me for it, then basically, you can get F****d. I've got a lot of respect for the Developers of the Galaxy SII and I know and beleive that they have the right to both their own opinions and their own choice.
I was looking through Samsung Galaxy S III section of this forum, to see what's going on around there and in the development section members were talking about how the developers of the HTC HD2 all came together and built ROMs as a team and ported Android and Windows Phone 7 OS together.

Basically, what I was thinking, is why don't WE do that? have all or some of our developers work as a team to create something amazing? I know it's a long shot, but I think if it were to happen then I don't personally think that there will be many things that our phones won't be able to do.
If you guys could just post or vote on the poll with your thoughts/queries, I'd really appreciate it so I can get an idea of just how many people think it'd be something that we should or shouldn't do!

HD2 had WM6.5 and we have android
Porting android on it would have been easier than posting WP7 to our phone because android is open source and WP7 is closed

It a poll to tell the Developers to DO anything or give anybody any hope, as the opening post says, I just wanted to see how many people thought that it would be a good idea, not because I want to force any of this in the Devs faces, if they want to do it then I personally would love it, but like I said, I'm not trying to push them into anything, I have simply opened the post for my own purpose to see how many people think it would or wouldn't be a good idea

I get that, I'm not dumb.
Btw, you may have omitted a "not" in the first sentence, unless you really are telling the devs what to "DO" (your capitals..).
My point is that since you're not telling the devs to do anything, what does the poll achieve?
For example, 300 people think it's a good idea. Then what? The same if 300 people say it's a terrible idea - so what?
As jj said, the devs decide, and they rarely post on this sub-forum.

A better idea would be for you to learn how to code & then either develop the things you'd like to see for the SGS2 yourself/with other developers in one of these 'teams', or link up with current devs & work on the projects they're currently involved with.

I have no girlfriend & I have a severe fungal infection on my scrotum which makes my balls itch incessantly. As a result, I scratch them quite frequently. Interestingly enough, I seem to be thinking of my phone whilst temporarily relieving the prickliness most of the time.

How about assisting villian for B2G first I say. Then see if we can port other stuff. I am not sure on what the request is here anyway? Is it to port SGSIII firmware to SGSII or another OS to SGSII?

It seems that nobody knows what to do while waiting for new I9100 firmware releases from Samsung (me included)

Apparently kennith & swift have been replaced by new mods, and a lot of them...

Damn. I'm really gonna miss the kennethpenn / swiftks good cop / bad cop team!

Wonder how come... I mean I know they've moved on to other devices long time ago, I guess that's probably it...

The Atrix forums have turned into a ghost town. It's sad that we never were able to unlock the full potential of our phones. Everyone has moved on at this point.

If Developers are in such need, then I might suggest grabbing some dev books, and learn.
By the way, I'm one of the new Mod's to the lovely world of the Moto Atrix 4G. If you have any problems shoot me a PM

atrix is already 2 years old and I have learned so much time passes by develop , atrix will be 30 years old
