Sandisk cards are the most reliable ones in the market.
This specific samsung card has higher specs ( transfer speeds) at least on paper and in reviews compared to sandisk 64gb class 10

No i mean sandisk is more reliable overall.
Dont know much about the reliability of samsung cards... not very popular but i know that this specific card from samsung has faster read write speeds..
Again using this card over sandisk class 10 may not make a difference in real world use in phones..
The difference would be copying large files.
smasung vs sandisk
Guys I previously did research on this when looking for a sandisk 64 gb, and hands down samsung is the better card. In terms of speed and functionality samsung is the clear winnner. However many choose sandisk for the better price. Sandisk went down to 38 at one point and if you are willing to wait can be had around 46. The samsung card averages around the mid 70;s most of the time, even on amazon. I would highly reccomend this specific deal as you will not find the samsung at a similar price. It has great reliability. Sandisk, as many people have found with the 64 gb, has iffy quality. They recieved some bad rep from an earlier faulty batch of cards. This was a manufacturing issue and has been fixed at this point. Don't be afraid to buy either because of quality. I personally use the sandisk, simply cause I didnt want to pay more for the samsung. However at this price point, I would buy the samsung without hesitation.
???
I don't like the fact that the pics from newegg and amazon have different typefonts on the cards itself. Of course it's possible one or both are using differing generic photos. Not sure if I trust amazon over newegg when buying sd cards... But I do have amazon prime... But then again newegg will definitely have it to me in one day if it ships from the jersey warehouse... So confused... Anyone have any advice? Oh and btw, the last samsung card i bought 32gb class 10 was amazing compared to my class 10 sandisk cards.

What a blatent ploy to try to gain unwarranted thank yous to your account. Shame on you.
That being said and out of the way. I have a SanDisk UHS-1 (Class 10) 32gb card myself, and while it's pretty fast, I'd like to see how a Samsung would work in my Samsung Galaxy S II! I just might pick one of these up... If I manage to fill my existing 32gb first.

A friend of mine just got one off eBay and it was actually a 2gb with a 3 stamped on it. The card read as a 32 then only held 2. The seller played dumb and my friend got a refund less shipping and handling.

Wow, at least he got a refund. So they are stamping 3's on 2 gb cards and calling them 32? What's the point of that when there's a huge difference in storage? Most people get 32 cards because they need the space. Ill be testing mines as soon as it gets here.

I can attest to this. I stupidly did the same thing, fully aware that scamming was going on but thought I might get lucky. Anyway, I managed to get a full refund including postage but it'll be the last time I buy a card from an unknown seller.

Why don't you wait until the SD card slot is enabled on the Xoom before buying it since the price will probably go down by then.
I recently got a 16GB Class 6 from Ebay for my phone and it turned out it was corrupt and then when I looked at the Kingston site, they didn't manufacture any class 6 cards, only 4 and 10...
from memory when reading around the site I've seen recommendations for SanDisk/ADATA cards...
any more recommendations on good manufacturers?
The only time I got screwed was when I bought a 2GB SD card on eBay but it turned out to be only 1GB. They even fake the labels so from now on it's only amazon or NewEgg for me! I have ADATA, SanDisk, and Transcend microSD cards and they work just fine with the Nook Color.
Through my channels the only decent 32 GB cards I found were through Lexar, class 10. I should receive a pair of them today, they were $97 via CDW.
There were other 32 gig cards, but class 2/4 and nearly the same price.
New Lexar card is working in my EVO, loaded it up with all the data off of the previous 16 GB card I had before. Looking forward to using the SD card slot in the Xoom as soon as it is enabled.

Lexar? I'll look into that, I have a good one now from Memorette. It's been awesome this past week.
Why don't we use sandisk since all manufacturers seem to supply our phones with sandisk card. I mean, it's better than risking and waiting. The they're roughly the same price anyways

i only use Sandisk. Lexar is not a brand i would use personally.
i plan to get it direct from verizon with my 25% discount. they are more expensive at VZW but they are guaranteed the real deal and no issues. plus verizon have local stores so i can get support locally should anything go wrong.

I'm an Audio Visual Technician and always have to purchase SD cards for clients when doing digital recording...A while ago I had purchase 3 Sandisk 32GB Micro SDs for cost price ($85 w/free shipping) along with 3 Sandisk CF 16GB Extreme IVs for my Canon 5D Mark2 at $150 a piece...
never had any problems with any Sandisk products so I tend to stick to them...but it always comes down to personal preference in the end...that's why we all got the XOOM instead of the [email protected]

Why not? I have personally used Sandisk, Kingston, Lexar, and I'm sure a few other major brands, and have not noticed a difference between them during use.
I have found them to be equally reliable, assuming you are purchasing them from a reputable supplier.
having some issues with my sd card ..its a king stone 16gb(bought it at amazon.com its real) class 10 when trying to record in HD camera fails if i switch to internal memory camera works fine
Im using a 32gb sandisk class 4 I bought from ebay for 45. Ive got it filled with 29gb of mixed media.
Im pretty sure you know this but even though you bought it from amazon.com doesnt mean it came from amazon. Most of there items come from outsider merchants that are just like ebay sellers. Ive bought bogus items or the same cheap china knockoff items just like ebay. At one point amazon was selling those fake psn cards.
Plus Ive never personally heard of the card your using. I know big companies like sandisk sell there bad cards to others and they rebrand and sell at a cheap price.
had to edit, Im guessing you meant kingston which is a great brand of sd cards. But still could be going faulty. Maybe try a reformat of your sd and see if that solves any problems.
Using a Lexar 32GB class 10 and it just rocks. Really fast card. Google it, think there even was some tests put up here in the xda forums.

hi i was wondering what brand is the best and why? my current location Qatar and in the store i only saw Nokia 32Gb isa that a good one?
and can you please give me a full info of what brand should i choose 4 my xplay thank you
I would like to know this too except i'm in the UK, wha is the best make and class to use? the 16gb class 2 that came with my Play seems quite slow.
I really don't see a difference between makers all that often. If newegg ships to your country take a look at their cards. I would, for a 32 reccomwnd a class 4 or 6 because of the size of the card

how about nokia 32 gb? is that recommendable?
Nokia ones should be okay too. Just be sure to buy the bigger brands.
And I heard Ebay isn't the reliable. Lots of fakes or sd cards that says 32gb but is actually 4gb.

I just ordered yesterday a Sandisk 32GB class 4 for 46€ on amazon.fr.
http://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B00...ils?ie=UTF8&me=&qid=1315820052&sr=8-1&seller=
I guess you can find similar deals in the UK.
This class4 has been tested on XDA, for sequential writes it reaches 6MB/s and it is faster than most other cards (including class 6 and 10) for writing small files.
i dont really believe in theses "class's" think its a scam to pay more for something that sounds better but isnt any differnet from any other well know popular SD card.. long sentance hahah
i bought a MUSTANG brand (german brand) 32gb microSD card class 10. it works perfectly and is very fast.the price is 80€ on ebay.
Upgraded last night from an old 16GB Class 2 to a Sandisk 32 GB Class 4 its like a night and day difference. 100% recommended.

It should have a 2 or 4 with a circle around it on the front label. If not there are some apps that can speed test it and tell you.

are class 4 any better in real life not statistically
Class 4 isn't much better, random read/write is faster on the lower class cards so that means apps will be faster. The only thing that's better about the higher class cards is sequintial speeds. A higher class card will transfer large files faster (like movies) though. You really need to decide what you need based on what you plan to use it for

For like $5 more you can get a Class 4 Transcend 32GB off of Amazon. That's what I did.
I don't know about better random read speed, but its not worth it imo, because if you buy a 32gb in the first place you plan to store files. I have a Samsung 32GB class 4 that write at 4-5MB/s, and multiple gigs can take up to an hour to transfer. I can not imagine waiting for 2 hours. A Class 4 32gb goes for low as $20 now.
Bought this same card last year from the this site and it works awesome. Although mine is a Class 6. Anyways its on sale for $46.

Didn't read your warning soon enough and bought the sandisk 64gb class 10 version, which is slower than the class 4 in term of dealing with small files, and to be honest large files doesn't transfer at 10mb/sec either. Too much of a hassle to return it, but since it's Amazon I'm sure they would take it back.

The link posted is on Adorama a Photography company and I have had only success with faster transfers using class10 sd cards, my file tranfers usually run 10-13mbs on a samsung 32gb class 10, to claim its slower then a class4 is highly debatable
Thanks for sharing ozzmanj1 , with that sale price im buying one !
it was fast with sequential write but random write is more debatable. and most likely Samsung make faster flash memory.
