Hello Guys!
I guess i bricked my nexus 4!
I wanted to update to 4.2.2 so i used the nexus 4 toolkit to toss the custom recovery. also got rid of franco kernel since that would have blocked the ota as well.
Now i ran the update, didn't work. charged battery again, downloaded ota again and tried anew, but with no luck..
and now is where the bad stuff happened. I figured i'd just get the .tgz from the google dev site and flash it to the device with the toolkit. Did that, now nothing works anymore.
What i can do:
Boot into fastboot, lock and unlock the bootloader, boot the boot.img
what i cannot do:
boot or flash recovery, it will be stuck on the google screen.
When i turn the device off completely (5sec off ) and then it turns on again, nothing shows up on the screen. just the backlight of the screen is visible.
i can flash system.img but no help, i can flash boot.img or recovery.img but i won't get anywhere close to recovery.
any help guys? or should i relock the bootloader, call customer service and hope they'll replace it for me?
Kind regards and thanks!
Solved it! I must have made a mistake since i didn't download occam from google dev but i guess the nexus 7 .tgz. Hence i flashed wrong system, boot and recovery...its all fine again now and running 4.2.2 wow i am glad

Hey guys, I flashed SmoothRom via that app goo.im, and when I did it, it said that I needed a compatible recovery, so I flashed the one that it recomended. Well I flashed the rom, and now my Tablet won't boot properly. I can get it to fastboot, but even when I try to flash a recovery from fastboot, it gets stuck at the boot screen (Yes my bootloader is unlocked). I've been trying to use the Nexus 7 toolkit to flash the recovery, and it is saying that it is flashing successfully, but I still cannot boot into recovery. Any ideas? I know I'm not totally bricked cause I can still get into fastboot, I just need recovery to work so that I can flash a new rom and fix this issue!
Fixed it! Just flashed the stock recovery, wen't back into fastboot and flashed CWM. Mod's you can delete this thread now
As a disclaimer I was on rooted stock 4.2, with 160 dpi. Restored backup of build.prop then went to install the system update (worked fine that way from 4.1.2 to 4.2), rebooted and almost instantly had the Android recovery logo with a red triangle and said error. Stuck on that screen, so I held the power button to turn it off, then when I tried to boot it up I just get the Nexus logo and it never boots. I went to bootloader tried to boot into recovery (clockwork) and it said it wasn't there or something.
What are my options?

A couple of things. You could boot into the bootloader and use fastboot to flash a custom recovery, then flash a ROM from there. Otherwise you could download the stock 4.2.1 images from Google and use fastboot to flash back to 100% stock and start over.
Wug's Toolkit may come in handy here if you're not comfortable or familiar with all the command line options.
Think I'm just going to flash the factory 4.2.1 image, will I be able to root 4.2.1?

okay so i just got my nexus and coming from htc one s i fariley decent at flashing and rooting and all that cool stuff.
but im right now im stuck in a bootloop at the google screen with pad unlock i tried relocking the bootloader and then unlokcing it again and flahsing cwm and factory reseting but still stuck at bootloop. ( if anything i had already updated to 4.2.2 ) so i need help thanks
Download wugresh root toolkit for nexus devices, and then use the Flash stock+unroot and select current status as soft/bricked/bootloop
this is a known issue with some units after unlocking the bootloader.
boot into fastboot again and flash custom recovery .img file with terminal
run recovery and clear cache, dalvik cache, and fix permissions then reboot.
your phone should boot in under a minute.
(this took me about an hour of watching the boot animation to figure out...I wanted to pull my hair out lol)
thanks man im trying this now and it looks like it's working ill get back to you on the status and thanks to the other guy who had suggestion

Just flash a factory image straight from google. Need to be more specific with errors if you want help. Did the bootloader unlock ok? Was it already unlocked?
Try flashing 4.2.2 image rather than the latest, some hardware issues can prevent the newer firmwares from booting.

I tried flashing 4.4.4 then the first jelly bean, it was already unlocked , im able to access the download mode, fastboot and recovery, like i said I tried 4.4.4 and oldest jb but its still in boot loop, any ideas?
There were no errors at all, using the nexus toolkit or using commands
Lock your boot loader then reboot. Is the padlock gone? If it is unlock the boot loader and retry. If your boot loader will not relock or unlock after relock you have an emmc issue. If it all goes through fine but still won't boot it's also probably a hardware issue but maybe fixable.
While on a developer preview of Android N with my unlocked rooted phone and TWRP 3.0.2-1, I accidentally ran the September OTA. The OTA failed, but left a mess behind with the phone rebooting 4-5 times a day.
Today, I decided to fix the problem, so I flashed the latest official image (NRD90U). Complete wipe, but since I have backups, I considered it to be no big deal. Turns out it was
The phone is now a boot loop (corrupt warning -> google logo -> corrupt warning -> google logo...). Reflashing changes nothing. Trying to boot (fastboot boot) TWRP (any version) does not work (it just goes into the boot loop). Tried to downgrade back to 6, same problem. Nothing seems to work.
Somehow, something is still ****ed up on the phone, but I have no idea what. This seems to be very similar to this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6p/help/help-help-help-hard-bricked-6p-t3428225/page3), but there does not seem to be a solution.
Is it definitely bricked or is there anything I can do from fastboot to try and fix this? I am unlocked. I just need a stupid TWRP so I can restore my backup and hopefully get back to a working state from there.
PS: I'm sure I downloaded the right image and flashed it properly.
