[Q] CM10.1 + PA Rom - Exists? - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

HI All,
I just got my N4 yesterday, and since that i was searching for the best rom.
I tested CM10.1, AOSPA, AOKP and PAC Roms... I'm running now PAC, but it has a little too much stuff so... what I'm looking for is a rom with CM10.1 base and the multi DPI configurations of PA (I tested the Xposed framework, but is not user friendly).
My problem with AOSPA is that some of the features of CM10.1 are missing, like battery percentage, notification dropdown toggles, etc.
The pac has all the features i like but in too many menus, too many repeated stuff, to many garbadge.
Anyone knows a rom that fullfil my desire?
Another question is, anyone having problems reducing the minimum CPU speed and after a few seconds it gets back to 1029?
Best Regards,
Carlos

JellyBeer by my friend BenjaminGoodwin.
It has the base of cm10.1 with the awesome hybrid system of PA.
Very nice ROM with a nice feature set. Try it out.

Hi BAnks,
It will be seems a lie, but while waiting for some answers here, i found that rom... It's downloading now.
Thanks.

Well... JEllyBeer is 1 cm away of all my needs.
It has all the configs and addons I wanted, however the PA nice "Paranoid Settigs" to config the APP DPI, etc are missing. With that this rom will be perfect.

As I explained on my 1st post, PACman rom has too much garbage, repeated options (CM settings, AOKP settings, CM performance, AOKP performance)...
CM10.1 is the best possible base, and I think that, if someone includes PAranoid framework and Settings on it, without any other changes, that will be perfect. Still clean and with the chance to change the UI exeperience. This JellyBeer it's almost that, only the Settings apk missing.

Try looking at toasted marshmallow or carbon
They are also hybrid ROMs. When my n4 arrives tomorrow. I'm going to flashing toasted marshmallow

right now AOKP is more customizable than CM10.1 & PACman is based on CM10.1 for stability and support with AOKP customization and fully functional PA with PIE

bump
As per OP I'm looking for a CM10.1 with PA settings (hybrid engine).. Preferably with Halo.
Anyone knows a ROM dev that uses latest CM10.1 as base including every newly merged commit from Gerrit,
and also merges PA hybrid and Halo?
This ROM would be perfect.

You will not find one like you ask. If you want those things you will have ever to use either PA or one of the high bred roms.
Wayne Tech Nexus

Carbon has everything you asked except the per-app DPI. But we do have Halo and awesome user support

[ROM] UNOFFICIAL AOKP nightly builds

UNOFFICIAL AOKP Nightly Builds
Since AOKP development has started picking up with their addition of their new Gerrit server, I've decided to release nightly builds for AOKP. These should be released every day anywhere from 6-9pm depending on when I get time to do it. Also, some days I might not get the time. However, it should be almost every day that a new build comes out.
All credits go toward the entire AOKP team for their efforts in making one of the most customizable builds out there right now. It is absolutely fantastic.
You can download it by sorting by date uploaded right here on my goo.im profile:
http://goo.im/devs/rohan/tenderloin/aokp_nightlies
Note: These downloads are provided untested. This might break your system so be sure to keep a backup handy. Nightly builds are usually more unstable than any other type of ROM, but if you want the latest features then use this. I do not take responsibility for anything that may happen to your system.
Another note: These downloads do not come with any sort of support. Do not ask for help in IRC for aokp if you are running these nightlies. They are not official and thus are not officially supported. So don't go and give roman and the other devs a headache
And another note: They don't come with gapps, download those separately from goo.im or some other source.
You should just be able to download and install the zip in CWM, then wipe caches. Reboot and enjoy. No other wiping is needed, only caches.
Right now I am building on my personal PC (I don't have a server) so I apologize if it takes a while to get builds up! My system isn't the fastest at making builds haha
I will be making these ROMs updateable via the goo.im app probably this weekend, I don't have much time right now to figure out how it works.
If you want to find out when I release the new nightly, follow me on twitter: http://twitter.com/rohanXm
Looking forward to it!

You can find what was merged here:

It will display some other device stuff, though most AOKP stuff from that gerrit is for the entire AOKP as a whole and not device specific.

The only "side effect" is that you cannot access the Trebuchet settings and your build.prop values will be different leading to some funky and wrong info in your About Tablet area of your settings.

Yup you need to reflash the Package and nope its the default Cyanogenmod Kernel.
This build is 100% AOKP "stock", as in its simply compiled from source with no changes.

The Supreme mods work fine but the xenon kernel broke my wifi (not had any wifi issues on any build) so back to cyanogen kernel and everything is working
The latest nightly (5/07) fixed my screen off/sound bug. All previous builds of AOKP had a muffled or distorted sound bug that appeared once I dimmed the screen while playing music. Bravo! I believe the fix came from the Classicnerd team, who once again prove they are contributing in remarkable ways. Bravo to them as well!
is this wifi driver included in the nightlys?

Beware of the complications of the new folder structure in 4.2, see the CM 10.1 discussion thread for more info. This of course does not apply to the CM9 build.
CM9 is based on the ics-release branch, it is the most stable/smooth release here.
AOKP is based on the jb-mr1 branch, meaning it is 4.2.2.
PA is based on the jellybean-legacy branch, it too is 4.2.2.
PAC is on the cm-10.1 branch, again 4.2.2.
Phone calls seem to be broken on the latest builds, also I've noticed the absence of a menubutton on the latest PA, looking in to that...

Great!! An AOKP rom for our tablet! I really like AOKP rom. I have two GT 8.9 3G version, one run with AOKP Milestone 6 (ICS 4.0.4) and the other run with CM10.1.
Tonight i try this rom (in the tablet with CM10.1) and then feedback you.
Thankyou for your work!! :good::good::good::good:
---------- Post added at 04:26 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:49 PM ----------
The link don't work......
Working on preliminary links as my internet is down ATM.
EDIT: Up again.
The rom is amazing! There are a lot of features for customing the UI (status bar, navigation bar, ecc. ecc.) much more than CM. For this i love AOKP....
My keyboard works perfectly. The build are early but stable.
The gsm call works (but when screen go off the sound mute).
The hotspot wifi (tethering wifi) is NOT working.
Anyhow the project is excellent and i hope will be continued....
Tryed the USB Host with a pen drive FAT32 and works fine.
And also, when you remove the drive, DON'T appears the pesky error popup "android.process.media has stopped" like in CM9 and CM10.
But the NTFS drive it's no detected...
Bye!
So far so good... This looks very nice
Thanks for developing a ROM for the 8.9!
Finally I get my Tablet UI back - tusen tack! Installed right on top of CM 10.1 without hitches (as expected).
Looks really promising, only caveat I've found so far is Netflix refusing to show movies in anything else than portrait. Seems like there might be some rotational issues still left. Apart from that it's really stable for an early build. Looking forward to the future of this ROM!

Will be installing it on my own tablet now as I didnt have it at the computer. Also I have done nothing but built this, any performance difference (over cm 10.1) is all on the AOKP team. As for changelog you can have a look the AOKP gerrit to see all the things that are added, though that is quite the read since it includes every little change to anything. The the AOKP official build changelogs are sadly not going to be quite right so I haven't bothered.

Yeah, I also use Beanstalk! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2091900 :good: And in my opinion it i the best 4.4 kitkat rom you can find at the moment. I have tried other roms but every time back to beanstalk because it has many features like Pie (Slimpie) , Halo, Xposed,Animations, Lockscreen, Multiwindow, Active Display etc. and it is very stable But there is only one main developer and you can't get nightlies every day. Furthermore, the rom doesn't support many devices, but Nexus 4 of course http://www.goo.im/devs/beanstalk
I use AK Kernel and Philz Touch Recovery but you can test every cm (caf) kernel you want

Or you can look in the Nexus 4 Android Development Thread for other roms like XjParaDroid. http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/development/rom-xjparadroid-unofficial-paranoid-t2602291
LMT is also a good choice for pie

[Q] CM based rom with PIE

Hi guys, long time loyal PA user and tired of waiting for them to merge ThemeManager, want to switch to any CM based rom which has PIE functionality and properly updated.
Is there any such ROM out there? Original CM will not support PIE ever, so anyone ported PA PIE to CM ?

Beanstalk is amazing, and has Pie, Halo, multiwindow, immersive mode, Xposed baked in, and about every other feature you can imagine... It is CM based as well... Combine it with Hells-Core kernel and PA Gapps and it is rock solid, actually even with the stock kernel it is very good. I suggest it very highly.
You won't see many updates though, maybe 4-8 per year on average, this ROM is rock solid and extremely feature packed, when updates to come out they just work though, many ROMs basically use updates like a beta program, not Beanstalk. I don't know if it has the new or old theme manager, I don't use themes so I can't tell you... but it does have a theme manager.
Thanks for the suggestions guys, just clean CM latest and it's quite good till now, I feel there is slight performance hit from PA but I will take that. CM has expanded desktop so no need of PIE any more. Was tired of PA, they still haven't managed to incorporate hybrid let alone theme manager.

So I tried Mokee open source rom (Marshmallow version) It's impressive.

I've only been running it for a day now (previously on cm13) and I might actually stick with it... i haven't done everything yet but so far I find Mokee is running smoother and is closer to AOSP with alot of default stuff i had to manually add into CM.
I'm not going to sell it too much because i've only been on it for a day but this is an impressive rom.
One thing i'll mention is it's default in chinese because it's developed mainly by chinese but you can simply scroll up to english and you're good to go. (on the first screen after boot).

I've never heard of mokee before; it sounds kind of cool. Is it more AOSP than CM13? My ideal setup is pure AOSP with xposed and gravity box. Gravity box doesn't play nice with CM13 and gives me all sorts of weird issues.
