Just letting people known that I ordered my One direct through Vodafone last Friday and it was delivered today, despite the fact they told me at least 3 weeks on the phone. A pleasant surprise!
Anyway, I thought I would let people know in case they are still waiting or just looking for somewhere to get one quickly!

Awesome, I ordered on the 1st with them, got a text saying it will be here today, didn't turn up, rang them only to be told its never got sent and there are none in stock.

I had a similar experience. They actually tried to deliver yesterday but to a wrong address. When I called to change they said I was basically lying and it would be a few weeks.
Today I got the text again and it turned up! The whole thing is pretty messed up by the sounds of it! Haven't managed to get home and open it yet, hope they haven't sent me a One X :'(

Spoke to voda customer services this morning regarding my order for the black one and they told me that there is an 8-10 day wait at the moment as they haven't received the stock from HTC.

Is your device locked or unlocked? Did you get the free HTC flip case? My silver HTC One should arrive tomorrow. I was surprised that they have stock given how popular I was expecting this device to be. I ordered on the 12 month tariff, as over 12 months the overall cost is not that different to buying SIM free.
I got my one black on 12 month @ 44 a month unlimited mins and text with 2gb and free handset and I shaved 3 months off my 12 month one X contract as they let you upgrade after 9 but that's all pointless as I'm still waiting for my device lol

How did you shave 3 months of your contract? Upgrading 3 months early to a new 12 month contract normally just means that you now effectively have a 15 month contract (i.e. the new 12 month contract only starts after your old one expires, you just commit to it 3 months earlier).

I have finally been able to unpack my new HTC One (in silver). I pre-ordered the black one on Vodafone UK on 28th February, but after hearing about the delays I called them on 15th March to change to the silver one. They then delivered it on 20th March but I was out of country since then.
I don't regret switching to the silver, it looks amazing! I was torn between the two colours anyway, so if you want it quicker it might help to switch to silver. I don't have any gaps or overhang issues by the way, it looks very well built.
It seems to be branded though, as there is a Vodafone logo showing up at startup and shutdown. I received the free cover by the way, and also some cheaply built looking headphones (black with red ear buds), which might be from Beats or whatever it's called but their cheapest version.
Just saw this quoted on Vodafone UK's support forum, no mention of silver or black, its dated 26th of this month.
HTC has confirmed there’s a delay to the shipments of the HTC One and, sadly, that means we’ll have to wait a little bit longer than we’d hoped before you can get your hands on your new phone.
We’re aiming to have the phones in people’s hands no later than Wednesday 3 April but we’ll update customers directly once we have more information on individual orders.

As far as I'm aware my new contract ends of the 5th march 2014, 1 year from my Pre order date
Also submitted a £50 top cash back claim so hopefully that will come in too!

Spoke to Vodafone this evening and the lady said there looking to get black in for the 28th there was a note on her system whether that means there looking to receive stock tomorrow which will be out for the 28th or they get stock in then she didn't know
I tend to find if you get an offshore customer service adviser they have no clue what's going on thou...

Spoke to Vodafone customer services late last night and they advised me to ring back today to change my order from the black to the silver. The guy told me that the black handset has been delayed again by HTC as there seems to be an issue with the colour. He said it was upto a 3 week delay.
So........I rang the sales line this morning and they told me the exact same thing - the black handset has been delayed by HTC yet again due to "some problem with the black paint". He was midway through cancelling my order and said "oh, I'm really sorry about this, but it looks like we don't have any silver handsets left either, I know that a lot of people were switching from black to silver but I had no idea it was that many!!"
In the end I decided to keep my order as it is and wait another 3 weeks for the black one. As an apology he also said vodafone would credit my account with 1 months line rental the day I ring to tell them I'd recieved my handset. Not a bad result in the end.

I ordered 9am launch day. Had my silver about 2 weeks now, black is finally turning up. Dont think many orders would have been placed before mine. Reassuring to know they're adhering to some kind of appropriately queued system.

Thought I'd start a thread for black only devices as silver seems pretty readily available at most carries in the uk.
I Pre ordered from Vodafone on the 5th March and am sadly still waiting anyone else received any info regarding black apart from the fact it's looking like they will fulfil orders by 4th April.
Ordered a black ONE from Mobile Phones Direct. At the time of ordering they were showing a delivery date of 29th. Looking at their website now it is still showing as 29th so holding thumbs. I originally pre-ordered a black one from them on the 02 March with a delivery date of 15th, but cancelled it for a cheaper deal but later delivery date of 29th. Just as well because I got an email saying that the 15th order was delayed to 29th anyway, so saved some cash and no real loss. Can't wait to get my hands on it though.
I ordered my black HTC One from P4U on the 14th and got a dispatch email about an hour ago saying it will arrive tomorrow. Am I right to be very doubtful about this? Seems too good to be true haha

No they were good for me when I got the same email it was there the next day, track your order on royal mail. They were first to get hold of the silver models. Is it SIM only or on new or upgrade contract?

Its a new contract, I originally pre-ordered with CPW but they had delays so I changed to P4U (also better deal). Im really looking forward to getting my hands on the black one I haven't seen too many pictures/videos of it so far.

When you do please take lots of pics and let us know how it feels When I first saw the black version I instantly fell in love with it, but unfortunetly since I am going to upgrade with T-Mobile UK they only offer the silver.
Me! I preordered mine at Handtec. Hope I get mine soon so I could kick some serious development for this device.

It's personal preference in the silver you can appreciate the design more then the black. silver stands out more. The only reason I prefer the black is because the last few devices I've owned have all been white, so looking for bit of change. Mind you I've got silver which looks brilliant.

I really hope so, got mine pre-ordered with free Beats Solo Headphones, if I hadn't got that deal I would probably have switched over to P4U by now and just went silver...

Should be the same materials I'd hope! I prefer black over white as the me it seems more unified. Also for some reason i think the notification LED will stand out more when contrasting with black, however I'm probably wrong!

I got pictures of where the gaps have been seen, there is a very small gap at the bottom which I didn't notice till I checked the pictures on the camera so it doesn't bother me (that much).
HTC UK tweeted saying black are being rolled out!
For anyone who ordered their HTC One from MobilePhonesDirect, I received this update today:
"We are waiting for volume confirmation from HTC early next week.
Due to the bank holiday period we are unable to get firm dates on the deliveries of the HTC One in both colours.
We aim to send out an update email to all pre order customers by Wednesday of next week, 3rd April 2013.
We apologise that there has been an unforeseen delay due to HTC postponing the release of the handset in any large volume.
Mobile Phones Direct will be back in touch next Wednesday as mentioned above."
So it looks like we wont see deliveries until next week,

Just for info. I cancelled my deal with these as there was in identical deal with affordable mobile who were charging around £15 cheaper for the upfront phone purchase. When I phoned them to see if they would match it they said no. I said screw you and went somewhere else. Be worth checking as both were advertising through uSwitch.

Mines bought now. Good deal either way. As long as mine turns up with no gaps and works well, I'm happy.
I will certainly be visually inspecting it physically before I even turn it on and I won't be inserting the sim card immediately either.

When I placed my order at MPD, it was 60 up front, 26 a month x 24 months, 500 min unltd texts, unltd data.
I got the same deal at Affordable Mobiles except for 30 up front and I also get the Media link(value around 50pounds) free. So saved 30 and a free media link. I am certainly not complaining with that. Cannot bring myself to pay more than that a month for a phone, no matter how good it is.

Same here. I paid 40 quid , and will be 26 a month. Ultd txt net and 500 mins. T Mobile.
I'm happy with that tbh. I'm gonna see if mine comes next week.
A note to all. When you get your phone , BEFORE you turn it on physically check it over and then try turning it on without sim card in. You will be in better position to return if your handset is dodgy.
Good point. After all the posts I have read so far, I will certainly be giving my phone the Once over before it is turned on. Really hope the guy I spoke to at Affordable mobiles was correct when saying that they would be delivered next week(now this week) as all the major carriers were now sorted out. I last release device I got was the Original Desire. It is nice to get them when released if for the right price( like the One).

They say that you shouldnt put sim in till after youve fully checked the device over. It stops the retailers from having any qualms about you returning it.
Just an update. Mobile Phones Direct on their site, now state, " Order now for next working day delivery ".
So this seems promising. I hope.

Indeed that's a hopeful sign my pre-order from February 25th for a Silver HTC One might just be soon on its way. My last email contact from them said stock arriving Tuesday 2nd April for delivery 3rd April. I certainly hope so because otherwise what is the point of pre-ordering when it seems you can walk into any P4U or 3 shop and pick them up. I have had enough of watching all the video reviews now! Lets get it in my hands!

Agreed, and will do, although last year I bought an XPlay from dial a phone and ended up sending back 3 phones because of a constant reboot issue and they did not once question it(within the 28 days) I ended up with my E3D as a result because I could not be without a phone. Good decision because I love my E3D. I won't have an issue at all sending it back if it is not right. It makes it much easier that it will be bought online as you have more rights of return.

I don't think there would be many issues with sending a phone back if it developed a fault ( even if you put Sim card in ) but, I do remember seeing messages on the internet from various people complaining that retailers such as MPD / affordable mobiles and Dialaphone, have been very difficult with regards to people sending their handsets back after it messed up in a couple of weeks or so.
Something on the lines of " They said i cant send it back because when i put the sim in i agreed to their contract " Blaa Blaa Blaaa.
I'm a bit more savvy myself and would just lay down the rules and quote references from the sales of good act here in the UK or what ever it is. Shops tend to sh!t themselves when you bring out the big guns lol. But some people DO try it on.
I've pre-ordered a silver one myself. Hoping it comes in good working order.

Hey Vizzy. I spoke to them on Thursday last week to confirm my media link(was not mentioned when going through with the deal online) and then asked them when delivery would take place. The gut said that they would be getting them on Tuesday and delivering either next day or day after so we should receive them Thursday/friday. Holding thumbs it is before the weekend so I can spend some quality time with it over the weekend.

Thought to start a thread for those of us that have ordered from their website.
I ordered a Black One last week via uSwitch. The £30 upfront fee has been deducted(not sure if they deduct straight away when ordering) on 02.04 and T-Mo have done their in and out of £2. When I called yesterday I was told that they will send an email before they ship, which I am still waiting for. They also said that they were expecting stock in yesterday, but I assume that was BS as their facebook page is saying next week in many instances.
I've spoken to them twice today and in the morning I was told stock will be in either today or tomorrow and in the afternoon they told me that they've received an email from HTC saying the delivery has been delayed till next week and they're looking at Tuesday (9th) or Wednesday (10th) for posting the handsets at the earliest.
Called tmobile direct to see if they can match the pricing but won't budge from £26pm for the tariff and £170 for the handset up front which is ridiculous.
Will just have to sit back and wait now.
That really sucks. Will just have to be patient I suppose. Not too worried about waiting another week I suppose it will arrive One day
Ordered on 23rd March, they informed me that they would have a stock update today (6th). Got shipping email last night for 24 hr delivery, so should be here today!! Can't wait!
Ordered my black One Thursday night 10pm. Friday 5th they received silver but no black. Apparently they are getting both in on Monday 8th.
My case had came, just no phone yet. They said I am getting the media link so all is well.
T-Mobile £26 a month. £30 upfront for the phone, except I got £40 cash back which has already been confirmed .

Ordered my black One Tuesday afternoon while they were stating in stock but allow 24 to 48 hours for delivery.
Nothing yet.
Am hoping they come in early next week so I don't have to make arrangements to be home!
Have been tempted to get a silver One from a Three store but have resisted!
£34 for the One Plan, clearly designed with The One in mind, hah, and £40 Quidco and the media link!

Just rang them up. They have only received the silver One's today and apparently they have a lot more orders for the silver than the black. They should be receiving the Black One's tomorrow it Wednesday. Just hope they have enough stock to ship my order.

Did you email them to confirm you would receive one? I made a point of doing this so that if they do not send me one I can ring and abuse them.

Well I took the plunge and signed up to the £26 T-Mobile deal and 29.99 upfront because it seemed such a good deal! Not to mention the HTC media thing (if I get one!)
Got all the way to the end and it said I'd been referred and the number on the refer page didn't ring / nobody answered. Then got 2 missed calls from a T-Mobile 0845 number and haven't heard anything since! No emails either.
Emailed the [email protected] address and had a standard email saying about credit checks might delay orders and rang t-mobile and they have no record of anything so I'm in limbo-land! I guess I got somewhere because I had the 2 missed calls but not had anything since!
Here's hoping that everything goes through and there's little delay!
Ordered my silver one on the 28th and it arrived this morning with no sign of any media link. Spoke to them via Facebook and they said they had run out of media links as they were limited. However, I have read they others have received this that ordered after me, so not a happy bunny as you can imagine.

They had better have one for me. I called specifically to confirm that I would be getting one as it did not show when i pre-ordered and they said that I would be. I cancelled my 02.03.13 order on MPD because this was marginally cheaper AND they were giving the Media Link free. If I dont get it I will be p....ed, and they will hear all about it.
I called Buy Mobile Phones today to ask if it were likely that I'd receive a black One sooner if I were to order with them now rather than keep my order with Affordable Mobiles.
He said that they both share the same stock pool, which is interesting as both companies have different addresses, though both are A1 Comms. I asked if they had ever received black handsets, to which he replied that they had, but they were sent back due to a quality issue.
The main reason I called is that BMP have a customer area and they answer the phone a lot quicker than AM! I don't know if BMP have priority though, being the parent company.
I read on Facebook that Mobile Phones Direct are emailing all waiting customers daily, no matter how small the news. Goes a long way though!

Affordable Mobiles nightmare
I avoided Affordable Mobiles this year after an horrendous episode with them last year. Basically even after confirming my cancellation for a One X, they went ahead and allowed a contract with three to complete, it took me weeks to get things sorted and never received any sort of apology. I've always got phones online through these type of resellers but this year I went straight into one of my local three stores, ten minutes later walked out with a new HTC One Silver.
The reason I did this was after googling how to dismantle the htc one, I learned that it's virtually impossible to repair the phone screen. I can only imagine the trouble I would have with the likes of Affordable Mobiles in trying to get a repair. Was assured by three that the phone would not be sent away if repair was needed but would be replaced. That sealed the deal for me.
Had mine 10 days now and it's awesome. I would advise avoiding the double dip official flip case, it's awful.
I hope you all enjoy your new phones when they arrive

Just got off the phone with AT&T - told them I was going to cancel my line ($145 ETF) unless they could do something for me as I wasn't up for renewal until September 2014. They renewed my line with the $199 pricing, priority shipping, and waived activation fee. I'm quite happy with them right now. Very excited to get back on Android (currently using iPhone 5, don't ask lol).

Sprint is offering the M8 for $249 for existing upgrade-eligible customers, but $199 for new customers!? WTF?
Just ordered mine from ATT. business account so had issues to start. THey said it wasnt available for business customers yet. transferred to customer assistance and they were able to order it. He said it would ship today or tomorrow, havent received any tracking info yet.
Got mine. Currently moving data over to my 128g card. Forgot about Sense....been running AOSP so long and never liked anything past Sense 3.6 anyway.

I'm currently back on a Nexus 5 to try Lollipop, but I'm selling it as soon as the One hits my doorstep.
Did anyone else take advantage of this sale? It wasn't as alluring as grabbing the new Nexus 9 at $199 (which, for the record, d move to do on 24 hours after releasing it), but it was still a great deal for anyone looking for a flagship phone at (probably) less than half price.

Got one - I assume, the page crashed when I submitted my order, but got the order email and they charged my card, I to have the nexus 5, not sure which one I'll keep, pass the other down to my son.

Yeah I'm actually on the exact same boat right now with the nexus 5. Overall the HTC is a better phone (hardware wise - especially audio-wise, for both recording and output). There's obviously more profit to be had by just selling the One in-box though.
I've had the One before, it's an awesome phone. It just got a little too banged up without a case/skin so I traded it in. Letters came off and all that - I just never said anything in the forum. Definitely not making that mistake again though; I'm putting a thin case or skin on it.
I think I've come to the realization that even better than having the "best" or newest phone (I.e. nexus 6 or 6 plus or Note 4), is having gotten one of the best deals. So, good-enough value trumps newness. Maybe, maybe not. We'll see.
