I'm getting this phone today, and I hear it does NOT support MHL, which is not awesome because I have like 4 MHL adapters laying around. So I guess I need a "Slimport" out adapter, but they are coming up at $30 each. Anyone have a recommend on one that does not cost that much, or if they all do, any recommendations on the "best" one that does not cut out etc..?
they're all $30.. its the standard price http://www.amazon.com/SlimPort®-SP1...=UTF8&qid=1363706599&sr=1-1&keywords=Slimport

It's good to have found this group
As a new user or about to be one, I have a need for an internet phone that runs Mobile 5/6. After much research, I've landed on the Sprint Mogul. I'll be using it mostly for email, surfing the net, and streaming internet radio via Live365's new Windows Mobile 6 application. Basically, I need to stay connected to my business while away from my laptop.
Before I make my purchase tomorrow, I'm concerned about the RAM. I think the Mogul comes with 128k RAM and is upgradeable to 2MB. Am I correct about this, and if so, should I get the upgrade immediately?
Also, can I use external stereo headphones that have a 1/8 stereo phono plug with the headset USB adapter bundled with the phone?
Is there any other upgrades I should be concerned about as a new user?
I'll be using the phone mostly in NYC. Many thanks in advance.

The Mogul/PPC6800/P4000 comes with 64mb Ram/256mb Rom and is (atthis point) non-upgradeable. It has a slot that holds a MicroSD card which can fit up to 4GB stock; 6GB on up with a specific .cab file.
The stock headphones have a mini-usb connector. You will have to purchase a mini-usb to 1/8 phono plug to use those headphones.
As far as upgrades... Welcome.
Read ALOT. There is much here in the way of software & hardware upgrades. The general forum has accessories & software development threads which can benefit many applications & devices.
Thanks xweaponx for the quick response and advice.

Can I pick up one of these at the local radioshack or is this something I need to special order somewhere else?

Yes. You can pick up an adapter at Radio-Shack or Wal-Mart. Pretty much any place that carries audio products or headphones.

I'm sorry I'll have to disagree with you here... Maybe it's because of my area, But I was unable to find any retailers that had even heard of a Mini-usb / Headphone jack. They ALL looked at me like I was speaking Greek in China.
I had to order mine on-line from Moguldepot.com It was about $16.00 after shipping. Kinda expensive for a simple adapter if you ask me, but worth it since no one had even heard of it.
the mogul includes a Mini-USB to a 2.5mm Phono plug adapter... so you could have gotten a 2.5mm to 3.5mm standard adapter as well.
Hi all,
1st week into my S3 and well chuffed with it.
Seen the option to be able to play movies to an HDMI telly using an adapter.
There is a geniune branded one on fleabay for £20+ GBP and then a non-branded on for a fraction of that price ( ~£7.50GBP )
Just wondered whether anybody has experience either way to suggest whether the cheap option is worth it or not.
Thx

If the cheap one says its also compatible with any other phone than the S3 then it will be a 5 pin MHL connector one, and won't actually work with your S3, even though the seller says it does... The S3 uses an 11pin MHL connector. The cheap ones work fine if you add a 5 to 11 pin MHL adapter add-on ..you can find the adapter add-on for about $10 on ebay
aaah okay so I either find an 11 pin MHL or just go for genuine SS. I'll browse fleabay to see whats out there.
EDIT : This was saved in my fleabay faves, it definately says 11pin but metions S2 & S3. Would YOU trust?

Amazingly I can't even find any of those adapter tips on UK eBay, and if I set to search other countries they trying to charge on average £20 delivery so the cheapest I can find one for is £27.
So can someone point me in the right direction to get one at a reasonable price.

Guys! am I missing something here??? I'm correct to assume my S3 is 11-pin right??
Lets go back to my ebay link : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/130752544096?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649
This item is £7.59GBP inclusive of shipping and clearly states S3 & 11 pin in the body of the text.
So is this item good to go ?
Would the Galaxy Note one work?
Am I right in thinking that the 11 pin SGS3 MHL cable is compatible with the S2 and the Note (i.e. backwards compatible)?
Don't confuse this with the S2 and Note MHL connector working with the S3 - I know it doesn't.
Can someone actually check with an S3 MHL connector and an S2 or a Note and confirm please?
It doesn't seem to exist anywhere else but amazon and not even amazon has it in stock anymore, where are we supposed to get this adapter from? I'd love to have one, but no body has it available. Can't figure out where it'll be come from next, anyone got any clues I've missed?

Just ordered one on Amazon. Why would you want LG to manufacture this? It is a licence free and royalty free tech. Hopefully down the road we will see them for < 10 dollars.
Slimport to HDMI Adapter with USB charging.

Slimport to HDMI Cable

I saw on their website they will be releasing a VGA adapter early this year.

Thanks a lot for that second link. I've been scouring this forum for a link to a MyDP/SlimPort solution that didn't cost $70+ XD.
Did you buy the adapter or the cable? How's it working out for you?
I looked around on different threads, and I can't seem to find the answer. does anyone know or have a good OTG cable which they use with the Nexus 7?? Thanks in advanced!
P.S. Is this in the right place forum for this?? or in the future am I supposed to put accessories questions in the accessory forum??
P.P.S If you haven't already figured out, I new, thanks for the help
Also
Also, If you use or know of a good docking station for the nexus 7, which supports data transfer between a computer and the tablet, that would be nice. Thanks in advanced
Sv: [Q] Good OTG cable?
You can buy OTG cables from E-Bay / Dealextreme. Take a look there, most of them is pretty ok and they are very cheap.
I use a OTG cable from a local store on my Xperia(Same cable, works 100% on Nexus 7) and its a pretty basic one. Just order a cheap one.
I got mine off Amazon ....2 bucks. Works fine! Took 3 weeks to get here.....but I didn't pay attention ....it was coming from Hong Kong. Lol
Sent from my cell phone telephone....
What is the best one for me to purchase? I looked online and they vary wildly in price, and some require external power to even function.
Anyone have some recommendations?

The cable from monoprice "mhl hdmi cable for android phones and tablets" works and doesn't need a power cord, it comes with everything you need including adapters. New here, so I can't post links

Whatever you do, Don't buy the super cheap ones off Amazon. Buy the more expensive Samsung one. I've bought several cheaper ones of Amazon and they always break or have super bad quality. They have "Samsung" branded ones on Amazon for 20$ but then you run the risk of getting counterfeit. I ordered this one straight from Samsung http://m.samsung.com/us/mobile/cell-phones-accessories/ET-H10FAUWESTA over 8 months ago, and have used it across 3 devices (S3, S4, and Note 3) and haven't had any problems. Good luck!

No problem, glad I could be helpful. Another thing I would recommend is the Samsung smart dock. Found herehttp://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B009QW3TBK/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1382314772&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX110_SY165_QL70 it has a whole bunch of features. It is a USB hub, MHL adaptor, dock and headphone jack all in one. It's a bit spendy but an amazing little gadget. You can put your phone on it and just plug an HDMI cable straight into it and it works. It's pretty freaking cool.
