Thanks for you reply RayHeath, yes right now i flashed with the factory rom.
First i wiped everything by task29, then i flashed with the factory rom tracked by my serial number.
Even thoug Only 162.42 MB i can see in Total storage, if you have the same device can you please check with yours how much its showing please.
Imp note : in settings --> about phone ---> hardware information , i can see RAM SIZE : 576MB & FLASH MEMORY SIZE : 512 MB
ARE THE VALUES CORRECT
when you perform task29 you have to flash magldr again, did you think about that?
I think with task29 also partitions will be deleted...when you are able to install stock winmo rom you must be able to flash any other rom. At least mdjs cm7 should work when you try an android rom because it uses less memory than winmo.

First thanks for your reply, Task29 wil not remove partitions, it wil wipe fully thats what i can conclude after my 2 days of investigation, the harware information which shows the values as 576 MB & 512 MB are fine. even i agree with you, as it is giving the values of hardware present on phone.
can you give me once your values @ settings ---> SD Card & Phone Storage please, then i can explain you more clear.
My values : Total Storage : 162.42 MB Urs :
Total Program : 208.20 MB Urs:
If any one have the same model with 512MB please provide me the inputs, usefull for investigation

I think you have to add these two (Storage and Programm) because winmo seperates?! Please, correct me if I'm wrong^^
I can tell but it would be useless because I'm using Android w/ data2ext
btw: I'd wp7 on my device 3 times and I always could get back to Winmo, Android or whatever. Maybe you should try to install magldr 1.13 and cwm 400mb. I don't think that your nand has gone

You are right. Task29 does wipe everything. He was having problems with his internal storage.
Naughty, first he´s right, you should now flash the MAGldr 1.13. Then choose an Android NAND Rom from whoever you want. Most of the cooks have included the CWM already with the right size. It would definately be easier for you using one of them. I personally use CorDroid. It´s fast and used doesn´t use that much of the internal space on the HD2. And a lot of eye candy. And again very very FAST. Okay?

Yes, those values are ROM and RAM... the ROM, or internal storage seems right, I think, because a lot of the internal storage is taken up by the operating system. The RAM seems a little low, though. Some of the RAM isn't shown because it is used by system and radio, but you should still have a total of 300 or more, I think. I can't remember what the numbers are suppose to be exactly. Try asking in WinMo section what their numbers are for the totals.
What WM rom did you flash? I have heard there's a problem with build 3.14 and HSPL, I think if I remember right. If that's the stock rom you flashed, you should probably try a different stock ROM or just task 29 and go directly to MAGLDR and whatever android or wp7 rom you want.

thanks for your reply, i just dropped in Winmo and waiting for inputs....
I Flashed with 3.14.707.3 (04666) WWE, before this itself i had problem with it. I am not remembering , i tried for "DL.DesireZ.v3.4.final.nand" and also "Motoman234_MyTouch4G_V3.1_DAF" after WP7... from here i am seeing this problem.
Before WP7, i loaded "Motoman234_MyTouch4G_V3.1_DAF" just for review and it worked fine, but now due to less phone memory after flashing HTC SENSE itself is not loading "its force closing" nothing i can do just loop of this force close. So i concluded that there was some partition operation went accidentally, and now there is only 162.42 MB partition available for phone memory to use totally.
Are there any tool to work on phone memory partitions..??? i tried task29, clockwork recovery where i went for advance & wipe options too.

Okay, try the CoreDroid Rom. All of the apps will be installed automatically on sd card and you don´t need to worry about you internal memory. Here´s the link. By the way please read!

Hippeee....Hurrrraayyyy....!!!
Total Program came to 336.17 MB, i removed HSPL and i got this.
But sir still i have one doubt, Now My RAM Size is showing 448MB, where before i had saw it as 576MB. How come suddenly it had been decreased. any idea...what should be the exact value of RAM Size should be in harware information...??
FYI: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11286863&postcount=6
Stock rom doesn't let the users use the full 576 ram. It will save some for the system.
Hi,
I recently installed some NAND android (i.e. miui 1.4.29) roms (magldr), they work perfectly. I also partitioned my sd card with 1GB ext3(also tried other values) and in my system info it says there is available a2sd+ memory. But on every rom and with every install I have a maximum of +-7.5MB internal memory space of which +-1.5MB is free to use. So if I install 1 app my memory is full and i can't read my sms messages etc.... Why do other users have 100MB+ free space? Is there a way to check where all that memory is being used? (overall?), At install I wiped my device fyi.
thanks in advance,
Jo

did you install a radio that allows 576mb ram? I am not an expert but that is needed and there are several available. Also, post as many details about your phone and what you did so that the Developers have enough information to help you better.

If he hadn't, magldr wouldn't start, android wouldn't boot.
Use it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1310309
Hey folks,
i set up my HTC HD2 with this Android (Coredroid 1.7) Version. Now i got at least one problem.
As i tried to start my phone, he said he's got too less internal memory (~ 576 KB). And that's where my problem(s) start(s). It's not possible for me to sign up for the MarketPlace, because i don't have a keyboard popped up (I guess because of too less memory - the set up of the phone (at the first start) also aborts when i try to type with the keyboard). My idea was to install App2SD to get some apps from internal memory to my SD Partition. But as I just said, i can not connect to the market. It's a vicious circle, seems at least like this to me.
I also read it could be a problem of a too big data.img, but actually I did not use my mobile at all so the data.img should be nearly virgin.
Would be nice if somebody got an idea, already asked in other (german) forums but just got the tip to install a "smaller" rom, but i would like to try CoreDroid (which should work for HTC Leo/HD2).
Best Regards
What size cwm partitions are you using?
Sent from my HD2 using xda premium
Do you mean the ext3 Partition on the SD-Card? I configured it with 1024MB, The Fat32 should be ~3GB. Hopefully this wasnt such a nooby answer
No, he means size of the Clockworkmod / a.k.a. system partition that your ROM requires... it's ROM specific...
But as I recall, coredroid has a somewhat odd way of installing it, it does this automatically...
Don't know what's up with your phone :/ , you can try another ROM (like TyphoonS) that has a step by step clean install instruction...
Ok, got it. But as you said, i used the flash.cfg from the Coredroid_1.7_Instructions.zip, extraced it together with the DAF.exe in the same folder and flashed Coredroid with the DAF.exe. Perhaps i try to adress another size than 390 MB or just try to flash CoreDroid once again, but this has to work . Got the used HTC HD2 since 2 Weeks and it never really worked yet
...just read a little bit more:
EU HD2s got 512MB RAM. Therefore CoreDroid, as a ROM which needs 390MB system space, should not work properly because there is too less space left. Is this right? Am I able to change the value for "system ya" in a certain range or does the ROM just work properly with nonEU/HDs with more internal space? Otherwise im going to try the JW MIUI 1.9.2 Rom...
Hey guys, I;m appealing for a little help here.
I have an HTC HD2 which has been great for about a year but all of a sudden it has problems.
I;ve been using this rom pretty much since it came out....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905060
I;ve never had any problems with it untill now. I started to get the "insufficient storeage space available" message on it so I assumed a restore/reflash would solve the problem.
I used HD2 toolkit to resize my MAGLDR partition to 450MB & reflashed - the phone wouldnt boot. Stuck on the HTC logo.
Repartitioned to 400 - still no boot!
Repartitioned to 350 - still no boot!
Repartitioned to 300MB - phone now boots however now, I;ve installed no apps & when I try to install spotify, its telling me insufficient storeage available, again! With nothing on the phone except the ROM!
I'm a bit of a n00b with all this stuff, but had my HD2 running fine for ages & its frustrating me that now it wont work properly!
Anyone care to help? THanks, Cardz.
Edit: im using MAGLDR 1.13 & the latest Clockwork mod to flash the ROM. I'm wiping cache & data partitions every time...... :/
Install it with as lower as possible space for system partition. In your case it shoud be 135MB of system partition and 2MB cache but I recommend to put some more of space for system partition as I had some problems with low system partition so you can put 150MB for system partition.
The simple explanation of why you dont have enough of space for apps is that you gave too much of space for system partition and simply this ROM does not require that much of space for system partition. And other space left in your phone memory will be used for apps etc.
EDIT: And also try to install MAGLDR and CWM manually if you can and when you install CWM edit flash.cfg in WordPad or other text editing tool before you flash CWM and edit system partition size to 150MB and Cache size to 2MB

Well to simply explain you why i wrote you to use manual installation of CLOCKWORKMOD RECOVERY was that I wanted to explain you how is it working with partitioning your nand memory using cwr or magldr. I just added some helpfull info for you from my experience with HD2 and android flashing. So in the future you will know what to do and you will be able to uderstand more from technical point of view about flashing etc. I just wanted.to share some of my experience with you
But it is up to you if you want to use hd2 toolkit or manual configuration.

Afaik it's better to post in a similar topic than create a new one, so here I go.
I have recently switched to an ICS NAND rom and since then I keep having constant storage problems. I understand that in order to solve that I have to partition my SD card but it seems, since I don't really understand the whole android storage management process too deeply, I am not doing things properly cause I keep getting "Low on space" notifications. I attach some screenshots below in order to give you more info about my sd card partitions and rom specs. Please let me know what I did wrong and how I can solve it. I understand I will probably need to repartition and reflash the devide again?
Edit: The screenshots I have attached don't have 2nd part mounted, going to upload proper screens in a minute. Done.
Edit 2: Will this fix my problems?

You are mixing different things. In the first post of this thread the issue was the partitioning of the internal Flash-ROM in the Phone.
You wrote about the SD card partitioning and these things are totally different.
I think, you have a problem with your internal memory and you have to try the same things like cardyology has done after the hint from jan.selep.
Partitioning for Ubuntu's users
I don't find the way to modify partitioning of the internal Flash-ROM when you are an Ubuntu user on PC (no Windows boot anywhere..)

If you use cLK instead of magldr you can repartition from the cLK bootloader, , no PC necessary.
Before you say 'I cant install cLK without a PC', there is a version of cLK you can flash from sd card.
It will mean you have to resinstall your rom, though.
I believe more simple to find a Windows PC...
dont see why it should take any more than 25 minutes to accomplish, properly prepared.

Hummmm because the Murphy's law? :crying:
I found a Windows PC, I downloaded the HD2 Toolkit... but not the good one, because the last version don't works with 32 bits PC. So, I found the good one, I saved all my stuff, I tried to repartition and... I miss a dll and other bull****... 2 hours later, I thought is too long to be good and I sought a lighter ROM (I understood Hyperdroid CM7 has a 150 Mo system partition : it's very short!), but, I found nothing with ICS or JB, only GB... pfff.
So, I took a week to flash ROM, I read miles of thread, hours to understand how my device working and each time I found a solution, each time I have at less a new issue to solve. It pissed me of.

Hi,
Today I've been busy trying to flash NexusHD2-JellyBean-4.1.2-CM10 from Tytung.
After screwing around a bit I finaly got it to work. All apps and feature's seem to be working.
However the overall system speed is much much slower then I think it should be.
These are the steps I did:
1. Performed a task29.
2. Reinstalled MLGDR 1.3
3. Reinstalled the latest CWM 5.0.2.6 with a 300mb partition.
4. Flashed the tytung_jellybean_r1 kernel.
5. Flashed the NexusHD2-JellyBean-4.1.2-CM10 rom.
6. I used the NAND with DataOnEXT option.
7. Reboot succesfull and rom started up (Fairly slow).
I have a HTC HD2 (LEO512).
With a 16g level 4 sd card.
I couldn't realy find a step by step guide anywhere so if someone could be so kind to make a list like this it would surely help out alot of people.
Thank you for reading and I hope for a responce soon,
ciao im italian
hi
impotant that you have an ext4 primary partition in sdcard.do you have this one? if not, you have possibility make a backup of your sdcard in pc because for to create partition ,the sistem delete all data of your sd card. after,in recovery,in advanced, partition, you chooise swap 0 and next chooise is 1/2 giga byte(i chooise 4gb 4tobe sure).after you follow the istruction below.
you must to have 300mb of partition with hd2toolkit or other but into aroma istaller you must to chooise a full istallation(important)
and you dont flash any kernel because it is into rom
ps: ...good luck
Your installation method is fine. When you say that the overall speed is slower than it should be, are there any specific areas you can point out? In general in ICS and above ROMS the system uses more RAM which can slow things down due to a lack of RAM. I personally feel this is a small sacrifice to pay for the improvements in gaming and web browsing, as well as the overhauled UI. You may also be overestimating the HD2. You have to remember that it's getting very old now and the hardware just isn't considered even remotely powerful anymore.

ciao guys
I've had indeed forgotten to partition my sd the right way.
Here are the steps I did for people that want to know.
1. Performed a task29.
2. Reinstalled MLGDR 1.3
3. Reinstalled the latest CWM 5.0.2.6 with a 300mb partition.
4. Partitioned a FAT32 primary partition with 32KB cluster size, then an EXT4 primary partition with default cluster size.
5. Flashed the tytung_jellybean_r1 kernel.
6. Flashed the NexusHD2-JellyBean-4.1.2-CM10 rom.
7. I used the NAND with DataOnEXT option.
8. Reboot.
The rom works fine and the overal speed is okay considering the HD2 hardware.
Thank you for the reactions and thank Tytung for this amazing rom !
very nice
have fun with this rom!!!!!!
The rom is a bit slow anyway, HD2 is not new phone... but nice and recent rom, so it is a choice beetween old and fast or new and slow.
AFAIK, it's a kernel issue. JB kernels do not support HWA yet.
They are working on it.
I have tried to install this rom and also paranoid 2.54 following all these steps but I have a problem. When I try to connect to the internet using wifi a storm of popups with unfortunately all the time comes up until I reboot my hd2 and close my wifi connection. Is there any solution?

Is there a video of this process? I'm lost and afraid to do anything on my phone. I've been out of HD2 stuff for quite some time.
3G not working well.
Hi guys, I'm currently using [3.Nov.2012][ROM] NexusHD2-JellyBean-4.1.2-CM10 V1.2 [NativeSD] rom. My problem is, I am using my 3G 24 hrs..but after few hours of using it.. I realize that the data is switched off and I couldn't turn it on again, not just that I tried to turn it on and off manually from the setting. The icon of the data appeared but I couldn't connect to the internet anymore, my only solution is to reboot my phone.. is there any available solution for this? Thanks and appreciate it..

Follow the guide in my sig, it's very detailed and you shouldn't really need a video. Don't bother Task29ing either, that's a bad habit and is really completely unnecessary.

Download the HD2 Tool Kit - you can perform a Task 29, install MAGLDR and Clockwork Recovery all from this software to include custom repartitioning based on rom requirements. I installed NexusHD2 4.1.2 to NAND on my device...all the NexusHD2 ROMs have been excellent as well as NRGZ28's EnergyROM for Android which to date is my favorite but I can't resist the latest ROMs and compare it to my stepson's Galaxy S3 device and I updating it manually to 4.1.1 stock. After you do this a few times; the routine becomes pretty automatic.

you should definitely try a faster card.. class 6 or 10 is recommended.

It depends on the task, higher class cards are only significantly better when transferring files:

Operating System is often using small block transfers - 512 and 4K. 4K is ARM page size.
It's why important to do fast transfers with that size. As well sometimes overall operations before and after tranfer can take more time than data transfer itself.
Usually high class cards provide better linear speed, but it's only used when user write big files, like movies or pictures.

(note that that's from Cotulla)
There's not much point wasting money on a high class card when a class 2 or 4 will normally do just fine.
