Is there a way to check which revision I have without the hassle of unlocking bootloader? and how do I know that which date it was built? tried searching the forum but found no results.

The date build is on the box (212 or 301), revision version you can check with apps like DROIDinfo from Play.

You can also open up a shell (either via ADB or through Android Terminal Emulator) and type:
Code:
getprop ro.revision
You don't need root/unlocked bootloader to do this. Just either have the Android SDK installed, or the Android Terminal Emulator app.

no need to unlock or anything, just switch off your phone, hold vol down and power buttons simultaneously until you see drunk droid laying with its internals exposed, below him you see data of hardware and software version

Only difference on 9023 is the SLCD.
Well I haven't received the 2.3.6 update yet, but my Market just updated... I only had Google Maps and YouTube apps listed as installed and that was it. Had to go to manage applications and clear the data for it all to work normally again. Google must be busy tonight...

Edit- So I finally got a custom rom to boot. Using the x note rom with one of the custom kernel options. Any devs out there that can take a logcat or something that can possible fix the incompatibilty with the rom and hardware? My camera and data are not working. Was thinking I would restore just the modem from one of my backups and see if that would get data. Anybody out there that can read a logcat to fix this?
Hey hoping this forum can help me out. I got my note 3 today and cant wait to root and rom it!

Most if not all are under the hood bug fixes by all accounts. All works fine, dare I say it, but battery life seems a little better as well. The changelog is posted in a reply post if you really need to read everything Google have done.

Can you tell whats different?
Caution: Developer Preview 1 is for developers only and not intended for daily or consumer use. See the release notes before installing it on your device. Enrolling in updates by Android Beta is not supported in Developer Preview 1

My first on time android upgrade. This is the reason I bought a pixel. It's awesome.
I just tried hitting the check for updates button like 20 times since it was announced.. nothing came through. I had a brainstorm and noticed that everyone that posted up screenshots had their phones plugged. I gave it shot, hit the check for updates button and bam.. downloading the OTA now. Perhaps this may help if anyone is not getting and not understanding why, plug your phone in and check again!
