Briked Kindle with soupkit - 7" Kindle Fire HD General

Hi my kindle was soft brick and it just stayed in the boot section contniously for so i tried different methods so i came a cross the soup kit not knowing much about so i install the bootloader now it wont turn on any suggestion that will help a lot >< at this point i think its pretty much useless but hoping for some positive information ><

[Edit:] I just realized this was the KFHD thread. I'll pull the downloads until I get an MD5 check working.
I need to know, however, which SoupKit did you use? For the 1st gen KFs or the one with RootPlus

soupmagnet said:
I can assure you, the SoupKit itself didn't brick your Kindle. A bad bootloader flash did. And I can assure you, the SoupKit won't flash a bootloader that has an MD5 sum that is different from the original, which leaves one possible culprit...your computer. And yes, it can happen.
That being said, before you flash a bootloader using the SoupKit, you are presented with a message, warning you of the risks of flashing a boot loader and suggesting you flash it in recovery instead. You must confirm that you are aware of the risks before it will go any further, therefore you are the one who is ultimately responsible.
Now that we have that cleared up, there is hope for you. You'll need to usbboot and install a new bootloader using a combination of both the Firekit and the "shorting trick". I suggest you read their respective threads to get more information on how to use them.
Good luck, and if you run into trouble, I will be more than happy to help.

I'm sorry to tell you, but that version is for 1st generation Kindle Fires only. There were warnings in the thread about not using it on second generation devices. I'm sad to say, but there isn't much you can do about it at this point.
If it's any consolation (though it probably won't be) I just put a bigger warning in the 1st generation SoupKit thread to try and prevent mishaps like this in the future.

Forgive me for being a noob, I am new to the community.
I did read the first post at least 5 times (if you are counting and I am not being sarcastic, just honest) before I even attempted to post a response. I am not an experience (veteran) on Android or claim to be. I am just starting out (joined: 13th March 2011) and trying to fix my own problem. Since I am being help by other, I would like to do the same and give help to the community.
To my understanding by reading kmart2788's post, it does not sound like he has a hard bricked that required a hardware replacement (Donner). Please educated me if I am reading his post wrong. So I can learn how to read the post correctly (no pun intended).

[Q] Failed to boot 0X1000

Hi everybody, this what happened:
I tried to flash my atrix with Atrix 1.26 Retail SBF through RSDLite.
After that it shut down and when i try to turn it on it says :"Failed to boot 0X1000" then it shuts down again. It doesn't even give me any option.
For the record, my phone was up to date (i got that wifi only system update by att). Also, this phone is unlocked and I have no warranty with any carrier.
I hope I didn't brick it.
Please give me simple solutions if there is any. Your help will b very much appreciated.
Thank you so much.
i'll let others break down the news to you..
Sorry bud, but I believe you now have a nice set of glass upon to look at.

Can't believe people are still doing this with all the warnings in the forums.
You tried to SBF back to 4.1.26 (Froyo) on a bootloader unlocked phone. You now have a very expensive reflective beer coaster!

This error also comes up with soft bricks which you can fix as you gave options to choose from and can recover. This guy has no options.

People are being helpful...by telling you sorry. If you need it for work, you'll probably just need to go buy a new phone ASAP. Like others have said, there are plenty of warnings and instructions on what/what not to do on your phone. Unfortunately, you missed those. Hope you can find another phone for cheap...
You have a hard brick, never try to downgrade. Nottach was able to fix his because he got a brick by upgrading, and he was lucky enough to figure it out. Downgrading on the other hand ruins your device, every time

We are helping you, by telling you that there's nothing that you can do. Your phone is hard bricked. There is absolutely no way to recover from a hard brick, period. You need to replace the phone. That is the reality, and there is no getting around it.
I was running CM9 on my Atrix when my digitizer went bad and I got a dead spot. I submitted it for warranty and before I sent it I tried to put it back to normal. I did something wrong I guess and ended up with a different boot error (didn't even give me an error code the screen was black unless I plugged it in I just got the NV flash thing). Anyways, I sent it in and the same phone came back completely working with a fixed screen. I think when they get it they hook it up with a factory cable and flash it back to stock with the SBK, which we don't even have access too. Just send it in for warranty saying it has software problems, and I can almost guarantee you it will come back working.

Possible he does with motorola. OP there is a tool on motorola website to see if its under warranty. Maybe give that a shot.
Bro do some reseatch that error message is a soft brick I believe I ran into a similar issue when I first roote it last year
Just thought I would weigh in that I received this same error code after an attempted SBF flash of zomgunlock-lite.sbf, and thought all hope was lost, but then I found this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=27158667&postcount=153
The instructions there helped me un-brick my phone, and I'm a happy camper once again

[Q] Galaxy S4 (I9505) Bricked? How to fix?

Hi everyone,
So what i recently did was i decided to install CF3D (Chainfire3D) on my S4 cause people claim that CF3D allows you to add the nvidia plugin to certain games so you can play those games with more special effects/higher graphics/textures. I installed CF3D and upon opening it, it told me to install a driver and i did so, then it told me it had to reboot and i let it reboot and then BAM, it bootsup and normally it takes like 5(+/-) seconds to show the main home screen so you can do stuff but this time it didn't do anything, i waited for about 15+ minutes and it still shows at the samsung logo with the blue glow around it and it doesn't show any error code neither does it do anything its just stuck.
Any help? How to fix?
EXTRA DETAILS :
-Phone : Samsung I9505 Galaxy S4
-Rooted? : Yes
-Memory? : 16gb + 4gb sdcard
-What App? : CF3D (Latest demo vers. from Play Store)
Thanks in advance.

Yeah i just read that bit, turns out they didnt put a sign on top of the description (Usually they put warnings in caps on top of playstore description) Aaaand they didnt add a not-compatibile-sign with your device thing like most apps have when they are not working for your device on the playstore, etc.
Well i found this tutorial to unbrick so im going to try that and try to have my s4 work again.
Well, live and learn. Always read up on stuff before you put it on your phone. You could try Odin but I don't think that works with cf 3d. If it's any consolation, you're not the first one to do what you did.

JTAG is for when you don't get any video output at all.

I clearly stated before the post that you just made, that the issue is solved and thus there is no reason to further comment on this thread and yeah i can understand your point but again if you are in a hurry and need to get something fixed fast i don't think you would bother seeing in which sub-category your issue falls under (Unless the error is very specific/etc)

Pretty Please Help. Bricked S5 and Lost

So, I'm at a total and complete loss as to what to do. I have spent hours upon hours googling, and searching xda and trying step after step after guide after guide and I canNOT fix my S5! I've tried recovery, I've tried Odin and there has got to be something I'm missing. When I plug up the phone into my laptop, it sort of recognizes it, in the sense that it makes the notification noise of it being recognized, as with any external device. Odin picks it up as well. The issue is when trying to boot up the phone, it's stuck on the Samsung Galaxy S5 custom, android etc screen. it will not go past this. i'm almost in tears right now, and just want to get the phone working again. Is there anyone out there that can help???
Tiny update.
So I tried another method, and still having issues. Only difference is, I get past the powered by android screen, but then when getting to the Samsung with the color and oval it freezes and shuts down. One step forward, 2 steps back.

yes, you will run into many problems. 1st problem is desoldering it. 2nd problem if desoldering wasn't a dead end, finding a preprogrammed emmc chip that will work for it is pretty much impossible. but don't worry there is a new exploit for all MediaTek processors that will let you flash partitions in boot rom mode! it's only a matter of time for this device to get hacked.

I pach a system.img with root now I'm just waiting for a script to flash it!( The scripts use python and I'm kinda new to programming python) I requested on a different thread for the script...
So I wouldn't go with the desolder the emmc route because then you have to warty about soldier balls, bridges, killing you emmc chip with heat, etc.

if you short one of the pads under the sheld to ground you will be able to boot to boot rom mode. that's when you will run the script to that will decrypt the keys so you can flash anything from there.
Bit late but its kinda impossible to change emmc chips.
If you get past soldering you could replace emmc chips with one from an old broken fire
and maybe it will work then
But who knows
we already have full root and bootloader unlock for most of the fire devices now
check the relevant sub for your model
LOS (soon)

Yes, technically it will but this method is harder to do.
here is a more in-depth guide on this. But I would not use this method, it's complex.
About the bootloader unlock:
The explicit to unlock the bootloader hasn't been ported to your device (if it has, I can't find it on XDA). It's because this model isn't that common. I will help Root you device using this method but I'm not skilled enough to Port the bootloader unlock.

@ANDROID2468:
Thank you very much for your help!
If I can achieve root access, I believe I'll be 97% happy. I have just managed to have another launcher working on my device with Launcher Hijack (just discovered that Amazon implemented a childish blocking by the app name), and the thing is flying! I'm much happier! The device is perfectly usable now!
If I just can uninstall some Amazon crap and have my stuff going, I'll be happy, even if it's still running FireOS underneath.
I'll read the topic you mentioned carefully. If I still need help, I'll politelly ask you for guidance.
Thanks again!

ok, first I need to know what version of fire os you are running.
Then, I need a picture of your board. you need to open your tablet and you need to take off the shield. here is an example (you have the 5th gen so the shield should just pop off):

sorry, I didn't read your message carefully. the post that I posted previously was about porting a root method used by the fire 7 (7th gen) which was used before the bootloader unlock was released(well the 5th gen was released at the time but not 7th gen ). that method is a lot easier to do and less likely to kill your device.
