Sorry for the bad section I'm new. I'm from Poland, and all I translate with Google translate.
Welcome. Some time ago I root my defy+ and used Titanium Backup to remove applications that are preinstalled on the phone and I do not need. The problem I have is that I removed the launcher and added permanently removed him entirely from the phone. When I unlock the phone turns the message: "The application Home (process com.motorola.home) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." Please understand me that I have not come to any application, options or anything. In short, I do not have the desktop ..
By what I described above, restoring the factory settings I have this error all the time.
Next thing is the Rom .. I can't install it (ICS 4.0.4) because I don't have the option "instal zip from sd card" for the installation 2ndinitdefy.apk stretches, but I can not install it because I do not have access to the desktop. Impossible to ignore these problems and install Rom by means of RSD Lite?
Rom who wants to install a Super Stable ICS 4.0.4 Firmware
Informations:
Motorola Defy+ (MB526), Android 2.3.4, Rooted (Normal Android. He haven't other modifications. Only root.)
It is impossible to revive it without rsdlite unless you have a custom recovery(bootmenu), thru which you can flash any rom you want

Yes, I have ADB on my PC. I'm waiting for instructions
Step 1. Get the launcher's apk file from forum. Any smart enough guy would be able to give you one.
Step 2. Copy that file to ADB folder on Pc.. Connect the phone to Pc with debugging enabled.
Step 3. Start command prompt window in the ADB folder. Shift + rightclick > open command prompt here
Step 4. Type in "adb push /system/app/<launcher filename>.apk
Step 5. Restart the phone. You must be having that launcher now

Ok, I do this, but I can't turn on USB debugging, I don't have my desktop. I see problem with launcher and I can't do anything. ;/
Your only option is to find out which ROM you had, then download the proper SBF from here: http://sbf.droid-developers.org/umts_jordanplus/list.php
Then poweroff your device, push VOL+ and POWER and you'll get to a black screen (the Bootloader). Use RSDLite (on Windows) or sbf_flash (on Linux/OSX) with the .sbf file you downloaded.
It will revert your device as it was before you deleted the Launcher.
Then you can start again with root and then ICS and so on.
Please, help me with search ;/

Open settings, last item (About) and then read BPflex and APflex, In the page i gave you, search for them both. When you find a ROM with both of them, you have likely found what you need. If there are more than one, check its description on the left.

I am able to do all that also, but can't backup and can't install anything. I get error can't mount data/recovery and aborts.
ok... so i'm trying for the 100th time to install this silly thing... and for some reason... when i try to run it... it kicks me out...
i'm not sure what i'm doing wrong...
when i attempt to pause the install process... i get a screen full of if i type adb without an argument...
if someone could gimme a hand with this or tell me what the hell i am doing wrong... i'd appreciate it...
i wanna try to get laidaxin's cm7.2 working on my phone...
i dunno if it matters... but i am attempting to install from a windows xp machine...
Hello!
First, Thanks to all people around this work, specially Laidaxin for good work.
Well, sadly... I also still stuck on install the FlipSide recovery option of the first post... I did all te proccess by eleven times, testing different details that may be not clear for me (as run as administrator, with abd CMD screen closed and opened, if the version of adb never shows me the logs that appears in cmd screenshot... several times I got on the FlipSide the screens talking about su and later 2ndinit script got superuser permissions... but the screens of cmd generated by the script are so fast that was not able to read or check if the 2ndinit script was succesfull or if there something else that may be failing/missed... so by now still no luck)
as a resume, in hope that may help to test from new friends around here:
1) I reflashed my FlipSide to stock with sbf from the other thread tutorial (I use sbfflash in linux and everything works fine, using Power+UParrow in keyboard to enter in bootloader mode my Flipside)... and then I insert my SIM and SD card wiped with only the CM7-Laidaxin.zip file on it, ...complete setup as minimal possible in order to be able to set USB mode to memory access, and turn on usb development in applications menu.
2) Then I ROOT with SuperOneClick version 2.1.1!!! and connect my phone in normal use screen home (NOT bootloader mode!) with UBS debugging turn on and with USB mode set to memory card access (NOT Moto Portal No Media access...), the other methos with Z4root and newer versions of SuperOneClick FAILS for me...
3) I then try to install recovery with Laidaxin installer and procedure, but as I said after some attemps I still not success in get the recovery working, also try diferent ways... removing battery then reboot with VolumeDown pressed, Turn off normal and repeat, turning ON AND AFTER see the Red Moto press the VolDown key short time, later maintained it long, then pressing it several times, etc...
So, I made this resume in order to share info from my side and hope to save some time to other friends that may want to test the CM7 from Laidaxin, than in fact seems like a GREAT work for our Flips... so please if any help to get this fully working and tested will be very gratefull...
Best regards!

Hi!
Ok, I am not totally sure, but I suspect that this is the original link of this recovery, however, just now I need to go to my work, so, I do not have chance right now to check it, but hope may be usefull.

Best regards!
You should be able to install it like this:
- Extract everything in the "data" folder into a folder called "bootmenu" on your sdcard
- Then use either "adb shell" from a command prompt, or Terminal Emulator on the phone should work:
Code:
su
cp -R /sdcard/bootmenu /data/bootmenu
cd /data/bootmenu
chmod 0755 *
./install.sh
And it should say "Install complate...."
You can also remove the folder(s) if you want:
Code:
rm -R /data/bootmenu
rm -R /sdcard/bootmenu
Then to get into it, reboot the phone and once the notification light turns on, hit volume down

laidaxin's rom replaces this recovery with one that doesn't quite work perfectly yet...
You should be able to boot back into CM7 and re-run the above commands and it'll work again
That doesn't change anything for me... it still won't unmount system...
I think if I read the output from the script install...
Our recovery installs to system... since Motorola doesn't love us
Sent from my MB508 using Tapatalk
Maybe try "rm -R /system/bootmenu" then install it...

It does the same for me, which is what's keeping me from trying CM7, as I have no way to restore my current nandroid. The defy installs their recovery to /system as well and I gather that it works as intended, I wonder if it's that we need our own build of CWM. Do we know if whoever built CWM for the defy has their source tweaks available?
Unless you have something irreplacable in your /system or /data... I would just have RSD lite and an sbf ready... and take the plunge...
Because....
When you use CM7... apps2sd moves not only the apk... but also the lib files to the sd card...
As long as you switch the 'network operator' to GSM only (in wireless and networks)... laidaxin's kang runs beautifully... much much faster than stock
Sent from my Filpside using Tapatalk
Link2SD has no problem moving the lib files in our stock rom... I'm no stranger to reflashing with RSD Lite, it's just tedious to get everything set back up JUST right, and this is exactly the kind of thing nandroid is great for.
Hi guys ...firstly Id like to apologize for my english cause iam from slovakia .....
Ok now my problem.... today i finally decided to root my HTC DESIRE Z 2.3.3
Soft.num. : 2.42.405.4
Somewhere i found out that the only working way is according to the wiki it means that firslty i have to downgrade my phone i downloaded ADB installed needed packages .... i did every step according to wiki and when i type "adb devices" to my command promt it says "list of devices attached" and it finds my device.... but when i type "adb push fre3vo /data/local/tmp" it says cannot start fre3vo no such a file or directory
it's a simple problem, adb is not finding fr3vo. try moving fr3vo, and the other files you downloaded and extracted, into the same folder where you're running adb from. or if you have adb access set up universally, in the terminal just cd into the directory where you have the files extracted.
Of course I did so but still nothing ..

hmm ok, did you extract all the files after downloading them? that's about all i can think of..
edit; and someties you have to make sure the name of the file hasn't changed since the guide was written.
And I didn't completely understand the second advice maybe my english is inappropriate or my pc knowledge is bad could u explain it a bit closely ?
Sent from my HTC Vision using xda app-developers app
sure, no problem. when you download the files in the guide, you also have to 'extract' them..... you right-click on the files and choose 'extract'... that will make them a folder instead of a zip file, and then adb will find the folder called 'fr3vo'. i hope this helps...
I didn't mean this but the second advice at first post
Sent from my HTC Vision using xda app-developers app
oh, i just meant that you can set it up so that adb will work no matter which directory you are in. in that case, in the terminal you run adb in the folder where you have fr3vo and the other files extracted. this is sort of the proper way, but i do not have mine set up this way.
unfortunately it's hard to know why adb is not finding the files.... but i'm sure you will get it to work, since you already have adb set up.
I used XP ...I could try it on w7 could it work?
Sent from my HTC Vision using xda app-developers app
i have used Windows 7 successfully. it's worth a try because just doing it over again, maybe things will fall into place properly
Ok thx for ur help ill try it and ill let u know....

omg thanks guys a did everything according to the pdf guide and now iam perma rooted ... omg youre great guys ...now cpuld u tell me what would be the best rom for me ? i want something really fast and responsible .thank u one more time guys
oh guys ive found this one looking really interesting ... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1714187 I LOVE ICS so it could be really nice ..what do you think and then another think ..how to flash this rom how i get into recovery ?
power on while holding volume down, select recovery with the power button. wipe everything (in recovery use trackpad to select and scroll) then choose flash zip and follow the op in the thread.
mimicry and elitemod are the two best ics roms I've tried latley although its been months since I used others and I'm sure more are good now as well.
still find myself using gingerbread most of the time though, try a few roms out. do nandroid backups before flashing new ones, but flash a few roms to find out what you like. in the developers section you will find a thread that has links to all of the current roms and many from the past
Sent from my HTC Vision using xda premium
sry for stupid questions but ... volume down+power ... i should use it when my phone is on or off? ... when i try it when my phone is on it does nothing
now i was just playing i wrote adb reboot recovery to command promt and it worked but i guess this is not proper way
adb reboot recovery. Is a perfect and flawless way to reboot into recovery. Its useful when a rom goes into a bootloop as removing the battery is not advisable(removing battery should be your last resort).
Edit: Don't forget to remove/delete PC10IMG.zip from your sdcard before you use the power + vol.down.

Little tutorial to help everyone out

Some pictures, step by sptep to help!
PUT YOUR PHONE ON FASTBOOT MODE AND PLUG IT TO YOUR PC! (truned off, press vol+ and power button)
READ THIS:
- at step 5 you have to browse your files and select the "usb_drivers" folder that you just downloaded then choose "Let me pick...".
- at step 6 it appear "asus android device" in my case but DONT care about that. Select "all devices". The next step is the important part.
- at step 7 click on have disk and browse to your usb_drivers folder and select "android_winusb.inf"
After this you can use commands to root, flash new recoveries, and go back to completly stock using bootloader mode on your device.

I don't know if this is because it was already installed or what (I've had to work with several other Android phones for a project I'm involved with) but I couldn't get the zip to install either (are they Win8 drivers C4SCA? Didn't work on Win7 64bit). What I did do was select the device driver manually. Once in the driver list select Android Phone and then Android Bootloader Interface. In my case it listed Acer and Google so be sure to select Google if you have any options. Worked fine after that.

If you know what I can do I would be thankful

Well, I can give some instractions but there is a issue. If emmc backup isn't from your specific device then you will lost wifi and IMEI.Because of that you must do as a last chance(...)
As I can understand your phone is in locked bootloader (pink screen) state additionally some file on it crash.
Its better flashing B512 has unlocked bootloader.Don't care if stops after 1 step or not.Just flash it and then go in pink screen. Then connect it On your windows os and copy paste pink screen files from your CWM backups.(unzip boot.fat.tar).
Afterwards pull out battery disconnect USB, reconnect battery and go to cwm (...)

Thank you for your fast reply.
So you think I should do this:
1. Flash B512 (If is stops of not unimportant)
2. Go connect in Pink Screen on Windows
3. Copy the files in the image foldner.
4. Pull out battery
5. Disconnect USB
6. Reconnect battery and go to CWM...
Ok I will try this but there is a little problem. I cant start my device without USB cable because the battery is empty and I cant charge it.
Anyway thanks

Edit:
When I try to copy the 3,89 gb File on the device i have to problems.
Ubuntu says:
Huawei Incoporated /dev/ttyUSB0
Huawei Incoporated /dev/ttyUSB1
When I try:
sudo dd if=huawei.bin of=/dev/ttyUSB1
The device goes from pink into blue screen or it just went off.

Status:
I found this page:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1671527
They have MANY Roms but not the B512 Rom.
I know the Dropbox Link you said but I can find it anymore
Maybe you could find it.
There is only the B512 for the Huawei U8800 PRO.
Not for the U8800.
?!

Download b518beta
Unzip
Copy/ paste dload on sdcard
If exist step1,2,3 then copy first the UPDATE.APP FROM STEP1 only on dload folder and do the update procedure. Then do the same for next steps.

Hi this is my first thread and i really dont know how this works but heres the problem
i bought a nexus 4 16gb from a guy on craigslist and it has a wierd rom in it, it is still 4.2 and i am unable to get updates on it. i browsed around and landed on a forum that said about it being some kind of debugger/developers rom that google uses. i dont have a lot of feature i can't connect it to computer to root it and neither can i transfer file from computer for exaple music or pictures.
The build number is:
full_mako-userdebug 4.2 lgep19
eng.seungju24.choi.20121114.105751 test-keys
If you want your phone back to stock and unroot you'll need to access a PC and follow this guide.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2010312
This will put the phone how it comes out of the box. Otherwise if rooted and has custom recovery why not stay rooted and flash different 4.2.1 roms?

1) That's a Debug ROM
2) It shouldn't be used as an actual ROM. Download this: https://docs.google.com/uc?id=0B_zuNWpIf1ujNlFDVnZ3dzg2WEU&export=download
3) Extract it.
4) Turn off your phone, then hold Power and Volume Down. When you see the Android on it's back, connect the phone to the computer and run the flash-all.bat in the folder.
5) Wait and then you're done.
Not working

Are the drivers installed or does it say unknown device?
If the drivers are installed, copy fastboot.exe from the attachment and put it in the same folder as flash-all.bat
