hello all, my N7 shows upgrading all apps in every boot. i suspect is caused by CWM upgrade through ROM manager but i couldn't prove. i tried many way and erased cache. then i flashed ROM but failed. now i dont have OS. CWM shows /sdcard. /cache is unable to mount seems root cause. i tries nexus toolkit and have same error. i use command line adb still can't overcome. pls advice.

Hey guys, I'm new to XDA and have been struggling to fix this problem of mine. I was recently flashing a custom rom and my phone entered a boot loop. I went to the recovery mode and tried installing it again, rebooting, and factory reset, all of which did not work. Also I do not have a nandroid on the phone. I'm hoping to put a different rom onto the sd and installing it in an attempt to get out of this boot loop. Any help would be much appreciated.
Use adb or fastboot to flash the rom directly of your PC.

Just use ADB if you're in the recovery.
Put the ROM.zip in the same folder as your cmd window is in and type
adb push ROM.zip /storage/emulated/0/
does mount usb storage in clockworkmod still work ?
just checked... no there is no option for that, too bad it was useful
What recovery are you using?

You lost me here. I have no idea how to do this. Any guides or anything like that to help me do this?

So I've gotten to this part and I'm not seeing "Mount USB Storage". The options it gives me are "mount system, mount data, mount cache, and mount sd card". I tried selecting mount sd card and it will not select. Maybe my phone is acting up??
You cant mount the phone as storage while in recovery, what you have to do is use adb sideload in the advance menu. more info here: http://teamw.in/ADBSideload what it does is move the zip to the phone and install, because of the way our phone works its easier to just have your rom and gapps already on the phone before you enter the recovery.
I just fixed it. Turns out the root toolkit I had was able to push the files onto my phone. I feel like a retard but I really do appreciate the help from everyone. Thanks. :good:
Hello all, Im caught in a pickle.
I decided to test out a new ROM and wandered off to the "mounts and storage" option while in ClockworkMod Recovery v6.0.2.3. I've regrettably went ahead and performed the format /sdcard /system /data /cache /sdcard option and now i am unable to instal a custom ROM ... for my computer doesnt recognize the device. elp would be greatly appreciated!
Hope i have provided enough information. Any h
I did something similar with my nexus 7. Get the nexus toolkit and you'll have to reflash back to stock then re root

So I've recently run into a similar problem, except I had this problem BEFORE, then performed the format /sdcard /system /data /cache /sdcard option in cwm in order to correct it, as I thought I did a bad flash. I tried flashing stock but the problem persisted. How would one use the nexus toolkit if the nexus isn't recognized properly by the computer in the first place?
does fastboot still work and get recognized with PC ?

Did you use a toolkit when you tried to flash stock before? I would suggest not relying on a toolkit and handle this manually.
If you can get into your bootloader you can flash the stock images using fastboot. Efrant has a great guide on how to do that... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=34552123
Edit...There is a second option I forgot to mention.
I use TWRP and I know I can do this so you might (should?) be able to do this using CWM as well (someone who uses CWM please correct me if I'm wrong).
If you don't want to go right back to stock as I suggested above and you can boot into a custom recovery, you can push a nandroid backup if you've got one or a custom ROM .zip using adb commands from your computer. Once the nandroid or zip is copied to your phone you can install it using the custom recovery.

I was going to flash a rom using twrp. Before I got to flash it I wiped the internal storage. Now I have nothing on my tablet. Can I use the adb sideload feature in twrp to push a rom on the device? If so can you explain how? I'm new at this so I do think know the commands. Thank you for your help.
I'm in the same boat as you
Sort of in the same boat as you. Except I'm having trouble with ADB sideload and Fastboot. But for you to try and fix your issue go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2001868
That toolkit will allow you to flash either a Google stock ROM or a backup using fastboot. If that doesn't work then reply back to this thread.
I also did the same thing as you did, I was able to side load cyanogen mod on the nexus
Just go into recovery and then into adbsideload option, make sure device is connected to PC and adbfastboot drivers are installed, then while your recovery is in adbsideload mode, type in command by opening command prompt in platform tools in sdk 'adb sideload filename.zip'
Where filename is the name of the rom you downloaded, then the ROM will be pushed and twrp will flash it automatically
Make sure you reset the device(factory reset) from twrp first, otherwise ROM will not be flashed

You can also use an OTG/memory stick. TWRP reads them just fine. I've also used an SD card & reader. Load your rom, kernel, gapps & connect. Then you can flash all right from your memory-source. I find it much more convenient.

So I wiped my stock OS trying to install a custom ROM that failed to flash, and now I'm trying to sideload a rom on my nexus 4 using TWRP. However it is as if adb isn't installed. No commands work and my Nexus 4 is constantly trying to establish a connection. Also, for some strange reason it's incorrectly recognized as a Galaxy Nexus in device manager. I have the ADT bundle and Nexus 4 drivers installed, so what am I doing wrong? Is my Win XP the problem? I would just mount the internal SD, but it doesn't seem like I can (nothing happens).
Any ideas???
Gonna attempt a fastboot flash in the meantime.
I guess nobody knows...
Oh well, luckily fastboot worked. Otherwise I would have had a brick.

how did u do that i cant flash a os on mines it keep saying im missing files
Here's what I ended up doing since I couldn't figure out how to get adb to work. I used fastboot to flash stock Android and then copied my vision room to my internal sd. Then I flashed it using recovery. The first file I downloaded apparently was corrupted. This could be your problem too. Your best bet is to redownload your custom rom and use a md5 checksum to make sure the file is complete.
Hope this helps as I am not sure it is the exact answer your looking for.

Hello everyone!
I'm having a bit of an issue. apparently everything was deleted on my phone for some reason when i was using my phone. I decided that I should just Factory restore through TWRP and reinstall kitkat 4.4.1. when I went to go factory restore I see that on the commands it says "Unable to mount, failed to wipe dalvik, wipe complete Failed" I took off the -rf on the settings check mark and when I go to Factory reset, the phone stays on "Formatting Cache using make_ext4fs function" the progress bar is moving but after several minutes it's the same screen no changes no failed messages or anything. almost like it's still trying to format. - my phone starts to get kinda warm. I have tried sideloading a ROM but my computer doesn't seem to pickup my phone. Instead when I hit to sideload through adb in the device manager i see "Other devices g2" with a question mark.
I do have the LG usb drivers and also I believe I have adb installed.
What else can i do? My phone still tries to boot but all I get is the boot animation over and over again.I tried the "LG G2 Stock Firmware" thread but the program says wrong phone model.
I had installed Kitkat 4.4 with Wootever's version 6 kernel and my phone model is d800.
Thanks for all your help! Seems like flashing was a lot easier on my previous HTC One X+ lol
If ur adb can see ur phone in sideload mode then sideload kitkat Roms and gapps and the kernel.
