You sure? I think on Ivan's 4.2.2 disabling the capacitive keys is impossible.

I have tried on my ROM, and work perfectly!!!!

Just found a way to disable capacitive buttons. It wasn't difficult actually.

Go to settings and force it not to appear on keyboard while the keyboard is in use. It's one of the first settings in this app.

[APP IDEA] Concept Menu Scroll (With Pics)

To verify this is not an application, just an idea. I was hoping somebody would care to maybe have a go at creating an application like this that opens up a menu which displays programs, settings etc.
The program would scroll using kinetic scrolling and would basicallay be used as a start menu to open shortcuts to start menu applications.
I attach 2 screenshots of possible ideas.
So what you guys think?

You can find something like this in Mobile Shell 2 (TWO), in MY MENU you can add anything you want. Assign My Menu to a soft key and you should be good.
Sure, a standalone software would be better...

i really like this idea,
however, i'm sure there's a few apps very similiar too this flying around,
maybe you could create a skin for one of them?
Nice system font, (teh one on the softkeys) what is it? I wish to use it on me phone.
There is something similar...
FingerPoint would work if you could skin it more...maybe even QuickMenu if it could be made large enough to cover the whole screen. There was another old one that I can't remember.

[Q] Vanilla lockscreen variation?

Hey all,
I'm sure several of us are running ROMs which offer the vanilla lockscreen like below:

"lightbox_close": "Close",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Above, we can see the icon represents the 'silent' function.
However, I have seen other lockscreens whereby the icon on the right hand side has been changed to someting else, for example: Vibrate Only [which is what I'm after], or launch Music Player, etc.
Anyone know how it's done?
I've been searching for that too, to change the silent button into vibrate but I haven't found anything yet
I hope someone can help us to change that
I think widgetlocker can do that
I'd rather change it without using another app, like changing something in the lockscreen code
I think it has to be changed in the android.policy.jar file since the fix for the lockscreen is coded inthere , but I don't know where and what I would have to change since I don't know much about the android coding

Sorry to disappoint, I found that screen in either one of these threads, both are a 'post your homescreen' type thread:
- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=476483
- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=665991&page=152
I can't remember which page, sorry. But it will have been in the most recent 15 pages of either thread.
so, i have found from where the screenshot came from.
It's from a member who runs a Froyd Villain rom on his hero and the rom is android 2.2
Now, turns out that in android 2.2 this is default the sliding to vibrate instead of silent (tested it out on the android emulator)
I have downloaded a 2.2 rom version and now I will try to find the differences between the 2.1 an 2.2 lockscreen files and hope I will be able to change it
^ thats pretty good going, nice one! I didn't know it was standard in Android 2.2.

Another launcher for HD2(LG optimus launcher)

hi, actually I just got this launcher from the other thread,and i already test it on my HD2 android,it works flawlessly...and nice as well...just sometimes you scroll through some pages,it'll a bit buggy...and press HOME button will lead to force close,in some situations....OK...personally,i like this more than samsung galaxy launcher...it includes widgets...awesome...Tested it on shubcraft v1.5
Click here, It'll direct you to the original thread for more informations and download links...Enjoy and play around with it...
mate it works okay but the bottom bar (dock?) is not filling my screen, it's only to 3/4

Hi,mate...This situation didn't happen to me...Since I'm using shubcraft v1.5...If not mistaken you are using Hyperdroid build,right?I think this problem related to the screen density...I'm using the shubcraft default screen density (which is 240),it works like charm...You may try to adjust it,since Hyperdroid build using lower screen density(so you see more spaces on the homescreen...
Here are some tips about how to change the screen DPI...click here
Hope this works...you may give it a try,see it goes...If all else failed,You can refer back to your Hyperdroid build thread...Pongsters already listed down plenty of useful tips about his build...
Cheers...

Its always a good Idea to look at things twice. I say this because when i first saw it I thought it was awfully ugly. Second look I decide its not so bad.

Haha,yea,same here...its pretty cool launcher,it helps us categorise our apps...furthermore it includes widget as well...Thats great...unlike the Galaxy S launcher,we cant install touch wiz widget...
The home and their widget only supports 240 dpi. If not everything looks wrong.

Amazing gingerbread keyboard for x8

I found an amazing gingerbread keyboard, and it works with the x8, you have to download the 2.1 version.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=875202
Nothing special for me...
Some screenshots would be nice.
Edit: Wow, it's actually pretty decent. If you can get past the fact the 'vibrate on press' doesn't work. I love that feature. Anyway, it's VERY responsive and deals with accidental presses very well. It has very cool sounds to go with it (tappity tap...) In terms of looks, it's average.

I still love the HTC IME Keyboard..
Ooohh, you can get that skin for Smart Keyboard.
Edit: I changed my mind about this keyboard, the keys aren't big enough. It is a pain.

I'm staying with the moded HTC_IME from Eminence v1.2
I'm staying with its default keypad. I prefer the multi-tap set-up as I am having difficulty pressing the right key on the querty keyboard.
