I want a pdf app that lets me write and erase writing with a stylus. I own a duo 11 and the reader app only lets me write stuff and not erase anything which is a pain.
Thanks in advance!
Huh? The PDF app ("Reader") fully supports the eraser end of my stylus. It will only erase writing, and you have to directly cross over the link you want to erase (which is hard for small dots), but it works. I've used it to sign documents and stuff.

So what you are saying is that you want an editable pdf instead of a word doc

The inking option on word 2013 is amazing with the eraser function. I just want a pdf app that lets me do what word does because converting pdf to doc doesn't work because some pages get messed up.

How can I long press a word in a book so I can look up the definition of that word... Similar to what the IPad does. If you long press a word it will highlight that word and automatically look up the definition for you using an offline dictionary or an online dictionary. Your answers are extremely appreciated.

Dunno. Might be one of Apples patented features or not implemented on Android ?
Anyway, once a word is highlighted you can coy and paste the word into something like Farlex Dictionary.
Great app, extremely useful, hope this helps.
That's a feature of the reader you're using. For example, the Kindle app can do that. What reader are you using?

I am using the stock reader from Android. Is the kindle app the only reader that does that on the Nexus?
Hey,
I just ordered my nexus 7 and I'm going to use it in school to take notes, with a keyboard case.
What app should I use to take notes, where I can type and also draw things with a stylus?
Thanks

Yes I saw that thread, but I am looking for something that is not recognizing my handwriting but an app where I can type and make drawings at the same time.
Thanks for your input anyways.
Try whiteboard text app. It's for making notes, and a second screen let's you draw, and the drawing is inserted into the note.

Thanks, could you link me to the app in the play store, as there are a couple of them.
I use evernote to take notes in class. However there is an addon for it called sketch that allows you to insert drawings into notes.

Hey Guys,
Quick question... Is there any app that allows me to pull PDF's directly from my dropbox account, annotate them and when I exit it re- uploads it to dropbox automatically. I tried using RepliGo but not very satisfied with the annotating part of it and not having palm recognition makes annotating a pain!
Thanks in advance

Ezpdf will do this automatically. Use the Dropbox app to open the pdf, select ezpdf as the program to open it, edit, save, and it will update in dropbox automatically. Try it.

do you have issues with ezpdf crashing though? it happens all the time to me ussually following a highlight or pen note. Then it backs me out to dropbox and shows a new "confilicted copy". my other issue is the pen is very slow which gets annoying.

Use ezpdf in concert with dropbox sync or foldersync. Either one of the latter program will sync a folder on your memory card with one on the cloud server. Have one folder for all your pdf's and you're basically done. I chose to set foldersync to manual sync because you might get errors if it syncs while you're editing a pdf.

I have the same problem it force closes on me while highlighting and it is much slower than I remember it on my old note 10.1. Not sure if it is because it is not optimized for android 4.3 for our device or what?
Hello, I've been using Polaris office for more than a year on both my note 2 and note 10.1. It has crashed on me many times and lost a lot of work coz of that. Is there any other app which is capable of drawing on ppt? Really appreciate thanks!*
As a student I do a lot of annotations. For pdf I use ezpdf works really well except some unintuitive features. For word doc I use Polaris.

Try kingsoft, or officesuite

Thanks, but I've both, they claim to allow free hand drawing but I am unable to find the function. Kingsoft version 5.8 and officesuite 7.3.1510. Am I missing something?

I dont know but you can try google's Quickoffice

I've tried that but it doesn't have annotation features, it's functions are even less than other free apps :/

I think Polaris is the only one that actually allows good annotation on ppt although the eraser kind of sucks.
I've found that any ppt with the file ".pptx" will cause EXTREMELY LONG SAVING and sometimes, just crash with the reason of not enough memory or something.
So what I've been doing for class is downloading the pptx to my computer and converting it to Word document 2003-07 so it would have a ".ppt" file. Any amount of handwriting I do to the .ppt file gets save very quick and stays. The ppt I use usually have 80+ slides.
Is this how you've been doing it with polaris? I also have quickoffice and officesuite in my tablet just for multiple viewing of ppts but none really allows me to annotate other than polaris.
Yes exactly my sentiments. I faced the problem of taking very long to save and sometimes crashing, but did not notice if it was pptx. Thanks for the advice I'll give it a try! The eraser really sucks lol. I tried the Polaris version 5.0 but doesn't work well with note 10.1. Guess I have to stick to Polaris then.

Microsoft does have an office for android app. I'm not sure what if any features it has for powerpoint or if it's any better than any other app just because it's from Microsoft, but it might be worth checking out if you haven't already. I believe you need to have a qualifying subscription to office 365 to use it though. I think you can setup a trial subscription if you don't have one. Since you are a student I believe you can get a 4 your subscription for $80 that will give you the full office suite on up to 5 computers plus mobile devices so definitely an option if you find that the app is useful.
I've tried it, Ms office for android would never be any good because it would be against their interest by provide true productivity on android instead of Windows tablet.

And do you need to keep the ppt format? If not you could print it in pdf format and manipulate it with SNote, ezPdf or RepliGo, for example.
I have a chemistry class and she posts pdf files online. I am currently using Adobe Reader, but it doesn't allow me to insert pages in the PDF, so all my notes are too crowded.
Any other recommendations?

Not sure what you mean, but you can erase your written tekst as a block after saving, but during writing it is possible to erase te tekst with an eraser.
The notes are compatible with any desktop PDF program like Adobe or Nitro.
Nicest thing I like is that you can put pictures in your PDF. I use the program for commissioning buildings with the floorplans in PDF.

This is hands down the best option.
Incidentally, when a new program is released, I try it. When a new version is released, I try it. Always looking for the best.
