I want to buy this tablet, but I'm concerned about its TV out capabilities . Would I be able to mirror the screen on a HDTV?

And how on earth do you think you're going to be even able to get head round turning your device on when you cant even do a simple search on XDA or Google before creating topics?

Short answer: Yes, but it isn't straightforward/cheap/simple, so assume no.
Agree with above.. and I'd just get something with TVout if it's really that important. I have a TF101 with this functionality and I can honestly say I've only used it on trips in hotel rooms for netflix and the like, never at home.

In the android market (google play) there is a timewarner cable app that lets you watch live tv on your android device, but only if you have an ICS device and you are not rooted. YOU ALSO HAVE TO BE A TIMEWARNER CABLE INTERNET AND TELEVISION SUBSCRIBER. Well i found in the galaxy nexus forums someone changed the APK around to allow rooted devices. So now on my kindle fire I am watching live tv. FYI I am usuing GedeRom 3/15.
Link for the APK

Also just to note, the original APK is free.

You guys have it made, I'm stuck with charter here. The internet is amazing, but the app they have just takes you to their website

I tested my AT&T Uverse app earlier today and it works as well on my KF as it does on my GNex. Pretty cool.
I don't know how lucky, it seems like half the time it's kinda laggy, could be a bandwidth problem on my part
When trying to launch I keep getting:
"We aplogize we're unable to fulfill your request at this time. Please try again later if the problem persists... etc"
Anyone else getting this right now?
Just tested mine and it worked fine. What steps did you use to set it up and sign in

I just downloaded it and ran it and never had the option to sign in. It stays at the Time Warner screen for a while then gives me the error. I'm running gedeRom as well... Weird
I'm assuming you downloaded it from the link I provided

Yea and from the other thread. very strange. I'M wondering if it's because the apartment I'm in doesn't currently have a cable package.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Yes I believe you have to have both a timewarner cable and internet subscription

it works!!! Wooo!!!
Thank you!!!
Watching an hour of TV on this app uses about 1gb of data

It works but I noticed that you are using the phone .apk. I tried the tablet version on the original OP but it wouldn't work. Any idea why?
Oh and thanks for this, I've been waiting a long time for this feature.
Yeah I tried the tablet one too and I couldn't get it to work, not really sure why it didn't

this works perfect!
OOh will try this later.
Siri Proxy allows you to control additional devices with a Siri device. So I thought there must be something similar available for Android.:fingers-crossed:So we can also control our garages with Android devices

Can't this be done with Google Now? Seems like it would be a feature.

I have been wanting something like this as well.
To have an application to do this though, you would have to have two parts two it.
First part would be an app on your Android device, and the other part would be something that runs on a computer @ the house.
Reason for this is because you would want a secure connection between your phone and the app. Otherwise, anyone/everyone would be able to access your home automation system.
If there is anything like this, that would be awesome, but I don't think there is
The closest thing you can get to it is HomeSeer, but it isn't voice activated. It's only buttons.
If anyone knows of a program that would do voice activation home automation, please let me know!
I have been searching the web over to find anybody who has even attempted to mod e3d420vx vizio yahoo connect tv. Yahoos site only gives access via their app platform, no direct access. Im attempting to use it for something completely unrelated to tv watching and need to load some software, but nothing is popping up in google. Any help would be amazing. Thx

I think you barely could do it.
Possibly it will be high risk if you attempt to do it.
Barely?...
Has anybody else come across any info on this? I have access to wholesale units and I'm attempting a project that I need to load some simple software. Tearing it down is no issue.
If no one has, guess I'll attempt to figure it out. Thanks ahead of time.

Being that I came from both the S4 and One, I've found myself completely clueless with this phone as to what's on tv and which channels. Both of those phones had apps that controlled the IR blaster and included a tv guide-like app. Do we not have anything like that? I've been looking and just find the remote app.

Damn. I was afraid of that. It amazes me that they did not include something similar to compete with them. I'd like to get more attention drawn so we can find an app, have one made, or make our voices heard by LG.

I find myself just using the Direct TV app. It shouldn't be like that, but I guess it is for now.

Sadly it doesn't... But at least it has the guide and I can touch the show I want to watch and it takes me right to it.
they put no effort into the blaster. it's angle is absolutely awful and the htc one and gs4 kill it. if you're one inch off from the direction of the IR in the device, it won't work. it's absolutely terrible... so it doesn't surprise me the software sucks.

You really do have to aim it with precision for it to work well. Stupid thing.

I definitely noticed the same thing. I can't seem to figure out what or why it is that way. The One had the best IR blaster in my opinion. I enjoyed it's bundled app more than the S4's too.
Hey G2 users , I think of buying this phone in this month. So I want to ask is there a TV Remote app like in HTC One or Galaxy S4?
Yes

Except it has not very good range. IR sensor is quite small.

Trying to use it is also kind of a pain, I find myself having to really aim at the sensor location on the TV to get it to work.
I guess it's ok though since I don't plan on using this since I have my TV remote. To me, it's just a nice-to-have thing in case my TV remote ever craps out or gets lost.
