[Defy+] Incredible hard Bricked - Defy Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a Defy+ (MB526). I did the mistake of updating a kernel(w w w.defy-cm.net/defy_plus-cm9-nightly/CM9-ICS-MR0-111207-jordan-KERNEL-2.3.4-Quarx.zip) and the device died. Only black screen is being showed, and if I put the USB cable, it's able to communicate and do flash with RSD Lite. So I can flash rooms.
I've tried to flash all the Retail rooms from here: sbf.droid-developers.org/umts_jordanplus/list.php
No Room is able to get my phone back. I can't enter on bootloader too. I don't know what can I do to recover the firmware.
How can I discover what CG version is my phone if it only shows a black screen?
Is there some kind of bootloader.sbf to flash to the phone?
The model is the MB256, Type MWQ7 - 334411A11.
Anyone has this model and faced this problem?
I'm afraid that I've lost my phone =[

Defy+ can never work on normal Defy kernel with lower version CGXX.smg files.
I think what you need is do full flash back to your Defy+ sbf via RSD4.9.
Please check HERE for details and work around to revive your phone.
All the best..

First of all, thanks for helping me.
I tried all Retail Roms available on that page. All RSD lite gave me "PASS" at the end, and while updating the phone shows "SW update." But I'm not sure if this message is done by RSD or if the phone is really being updated, because I did not entered on bootloader mode (power + volume Down) because it's not working.
Do you think I'm really doing the flash as it must be or do I need to do MacGyver method as people described on this page at item 2.2?
If I have battery fully charged don't make sense doing this MacGyver method right?
To do a Full SBF flash, does I need to mark the "TI Blank flash" option at RSD lite?

What SBFs did you use?
You're stuck in black screen problem, you can boot into Bootloader mode for sure (as you're flashing SBFs) the screen just didn't show anything. (and it's power + volume up)
Not sure if your battery still have some juice left, you can't charge it through bricked phone, you may need an external wall charger.
Bootloader won't let you flash a rom if your batt are low.
For now you should go for DFP-231 builds that suit your region, to ensure you have the latest Bootloader v.7.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1495099
And your phone should return to normal, no black screen anymore.
If it stuck at logo, don't forget to try Stock recovery> wipe data/wipe cache.

Thanks for helping me, I'll try and post here.
I used on the video the Retail Chinese SBF from here: http://sbf.droid-developers.org/umts_jordanplus/list.php
And I also used ALL THE RETAIL versions of the page.

Any screenshot of RSDlite after flashing?
It may help us determine the problem.

Another point, at the end of flashing the last dbf file, my battery was in 78%. I have a friend's Defy I use to charge it.

A dumb question. Do I need to remove the SD card before flashing?

Not needed but to be sure, try remove it and flash again.
Ok, so Batt low is no problem anymore.
RSDlite recognize your phone even you didn't press anything, I guess your phone now booted to Bootloader mode by default so that's why.
I don't really know how to fix it anymore, look like it's too complicated for common flashing will help...sorry for not able to help you much.

Thanks for helping. I hope I'm doing the correct process, had you seen both videos?
I tried now without SD card... no way... same result.

Another point. O don't think the MacGyver method will help me, right? Because Battery is ok... the message "SW update" on the screen I think is made by phone and not by RSD Lite....

No one passed by the same problem as me?

Upgraded through KIES to FROYO buts stuck at BOOTING & VIBRATES

I have just upgraded to FROYO through KIES after 3 HOURS of waiting.
But my is stuck at boot screen & vibrates..
i had tried the recovery but no use.
please help me...
Take the battery out, try recovery mode again.
Or you didnt uninstall your lagfix before updating.. If so, do a factory reset in the recovery console.
i did that by VOLUME UP + HOME + POWER.
it went into recovery mode i did every thing NO USE.
did wipe all data, factory, format sd card. Still no use.
i heard about hard reset VOLUME DOWN + (press & release) POWER
then clear storage.
BUT HARD RESET is not working for me..

If you are able to enter to download mode then try reflashing via odin it should work.

how much time would it take through ODIN for flashing???
I got the same issue here. And my SGS can not boot into download mode by hold 3 buttons.
Anyone knows what's the option for me now?
Thanks
Hi
I had the same issue it vibrated and didn't boot up. Remove SD Card, go to recovery via VOL UP + HOME + POWER button when you see boot screen releae all buttons. You are in recovery mode. Vol up down and select wipe data/ factory reset, confirm and your device shall boot.
My SGS booted after this and Yes I had OCLF lagfix installed, device rooted which I didn't remove prior to update. Now its fine again.
Now i tried to flash it through ODIN.
It was taking a long time so i stopped
it is displaying this

From this screen you sholud be able to enter in downloadmode. And, but I'm not sure, from this screen Kies should be able to recover the phone too...
Any way:
Always is a solution.... Search here, on forum, about JIG method to unbrick Galaxy S. You have to made a 301kohms rezistor and connect it on 2 pins from a usb cable. You'll see more pictures, it's easy to made it...
This JIG rezistor will always put the phone in download mode. From here you can reflash with Odin any rom you want.
But, if Odin stopped, there are 2 possibilities: you don't have the phones drivers installed corectly, or (and most important) you don't close Kies from Task Manager before launch Odin. If Kies is runing will take the comm port busy and Odin can't use it to comunicate with the phone.
Always close all Kies applications before flashing with Odin. It's very important.
Good luck.

I did not find that recovery.....
does that have to work if KIES pops some recovery of os????
please tell me a way to flash back to
original DDJG4 india firmware...
and is it possible to upgrade to FROYO using KIES after flashing???
have you tried adb search youtube for a tutorial. you can reboot/recovery or download and much much more.
MAKE SURE YOU ARE IN DEBUGGING MODE WITH ADB. and i take out the sim card and ext sd card.
you use commands like c:\androidsdk\tools\adb reboot download
c:\androidsdk\tools\adb reboot recovery
c:\androidsdk\tools\adb reboot
also try apk 3.0 this lets you install apk's via your pc right to your phone, search for z4root apk on this site and use adb to reboot into recovery to apply update.zip
hope this helps, i also have no 3 button combo

Not sure why you would purposly stop Odin while it was running. All you are doing is creating a worse and worse situation for yourself by doing things like that.
It seems to me that you do not know enough about flashing, etc to even be concidering doing so, so... I reccomend that after you finally get your device up and running again that you ONLY flash through Kies and dont do anything else as you will likely end up with one issue after the other...

personally it amazes me when i read some of the horror stories on this site, i find it very couragous that anyone would attempt this without proper research, .
some of the complex hacks i am seeing just aren't needed, yet people risk bricking their phones. Anyway good luck to all who venture in to flashing, you dont learn if you dont try and without mistakes we would not learn as much so thankyou i know no what not to do hi.

[Q] Brick phone maybe? help me out

So I got a htc mytouch 4g And it has that phone icon with a triangle and exclamtion mark. I dont know anything about this phone since I have a att captivate From what I read is that if you have recovery you might be able to do it.
Also when I plug in the usb I go into recover and I Get a fasboot screen and other sorts of menus i have put a pd15img.zip in my external sd card and it loads installs It I guess but still boots into the same Icon.
from what I also read is that you can fix this by loading a stock rom pushing into your sdcard via adb but make sure is name update.zip but when I do that I get Invalid Operation.
when in recovery I have this message E:cant't open /cache/recovery/command also phone boots right into that icon.

I answered in your other thread here. However, now that you've posted a screenshot, I see that the phone isn't even rooted. I have no idea how you get into a custom recovery without root.
I connect usb while the phoneis off and then press volume up + power and that appears.

Yeah, see where it says "S-ON"? That means the phone isn't rooted. You need to perm root and it install CWM recovery, but with those cache errors you're getting, I'm not sure there's any point since those usually indicate a failed eMMC.
Guess my options are
1. call t-mobile and tell them what happen maybe they will replace it but I didnt buy it with contract I'm att and was going to ask my friend to get me unlock code, But idk if its possible I drop it and theres a crack on the phone
2. sell it for parts...
>.< money down the drain I guess fuggin phone
You're booting into stock recovery by default, that's the "triange". That might happen if you have a VolumeDown key/trackpad stuck.
The error in the recovery is natural - stock recovery expects a command when booted into, but finds nothing.
Check that you're indeed installing a correct PD15IMG that contains a complete system image, and if you are and it still doesn't help - try to shake the phone on the side / upside down, to try and release the possibly stuck buttons. If it doesn't help - the phone needs warranty repair. T-Mobile or HTC directly, your choice. To send it to HTC, you pay the shipping. But in any case it's under warranty, unless it has water damage or something.
download this go into fastboot/bootloader then run the ruu and flash, if after this u still get to recovery than its something else.

That appears to be the Gingerbread leak from the Canadian HTC Panache, but you might want to describe to the OP what exactly it is. Most people won't blindly flash something to their phone without a little info first. Also, could that be flashed to a non-rooted device?
yes thats the official RUU of panache which is glacier inside.
yes u can flash as its RUU.exe u dont need root.
u can even comeback to official mytouch RUU.zip using this exe later if wanted.
because its exe it will reflash everything boot, recovery, splash, radio every thing, thus fixing any problem thats not hardware.

i used this as noted but I get this error
Customer ID error (131) I read on these forums is has something todo with a goldcard?
Edit-
I manage to load a stock rom into a External sd card. it updated it everything pass exept step 8 it skip it and the said finish updateing press power to reboot. Rebooted but the whole (second) mytouch splash was going for a long time. I try to use the RUU.exe and it wont boot into bootloatder just boots and stays on the splash screen.
this is what I get now and is stuck on That screen updating radio
Damn.
That would be the first completely stock Mytouch4G in the forum that has a failed eMMC chip.
Yes, it's bricked, you need to exchange it.
But it's also a good proof that gfree has nothing to do with failed eMMC, extra write cycles of flashing ROMs most probably just speed up the destruction process.
you got one large scratch on screen, how good have you kept your phone? have you droped it badly once or twice?
when you used the RUU.exe when did u get that error, does it go upto where it showed you the rom version?
if u got there than you can try one more time but this time with official mytouch RUU.zip. i'll tell you how to do that, later if u got upto that part.
edit nevermind my post cameback above this
If it shows "Fail-PU" in bootloader - then the eMMC isn't functional anymore. No flashing will help him in this case, only warranty repair.
hmm too bad, feel sorry for him

pull battery,
press and hold R,
reinsert battery, if it does not start to boot, press power,
when you see !, triangle, and Andy, release R,
then press both volume buttons to continue to android recovery
Notice: if you disconnect phone from pc, before phone has finished rebooting, and then try to close rsd lite, you may get a warning from rsd lite, about damaging your device

no, anytime you use a battery, then stop using it, the battery will recovery some, just the way batteries work. If you do not see the charging screen the battery is not charging, but you can try flashing if you want.

you can't use old roms on a phone with a locked bootloader, if the current kernel is not compatible.
There are several roms that work in my list of 621 Roms (http://goo.gl/7gtp2e)

That may just be the white line issue? I have not actually seen it myself but if you do a quick search you should be able to fix it. Worst case you can just boot into download mode and restore to stock, it is software based since it happened after a flash.
The white line issue occurs if you flash a kernel or recovery which is meant for the JDI display but you migh have an LGD. Look or your twrp you flashed is meant for only one. I suggest to check out dr87 twrp recovery since it has display detection.
You didn't bricked your phone, maybe a bit softbricked but further nothing to worry about.
Hi, thanks for the replys
My only problem is that when i connect my phone to my pc doesn't connect it, and only appears the white lines
Can you help me?

Is your screen completely white or white lines?

Wait after you've installed it... Did you install it with a app within Android?
If so then I think it might've flashed it wrong to maybe a wrong partition or what, I will search for you.

I've didn't found really much but you could also check in general/ google for people with the same problem and if nothing works then you have to try that unbricking thing guide where you have to reflash partitions etc.

The thing is that you need to open your phone then so that's risky. I suggest to google for people with the same problem and maybe search if there's a fix else you maybe got to sell your phone or try that risky way to fix it.

No one is to stupid to make the same thing that i have made.
There is none problem like mine
Try going to the download mode by powering off the phone completely then holding the vol up button and inserting the USB cable. The usb cable must be connected to your computer.

Hi
There's no problem! I'll explain to you.
The problem is you have a bad kernel instaled and that's why you have the lines. When you power on your phone you can't see but there's a message related to "NO Recovery mode, No download mode", it's "Secure booting error".
So you have to follow all the steps on this tutorial:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582142
When you have all that done you'll have your phone back!!
The only problem will be (at least for me) the lines will be there in the same, so you have to find the best kernel to your rom
I think that's all, GOOD LUCK!!

You don't need fastboot!
If you follow all the instructions it will work (i think in the windows too, don't remember if I made it on windows or linux).
You have to install all the drivers, and then you'll do it
If you can't do it, try this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QK40sjiDq0Y
But i have made the same thing that i sent you (link of xda) and that worked for me!

You don't need to run anything, when you turn on your phone you don't see but appear a error message. Then if you follow all the instructions (commands) in the tutorial of xda you'll have to delete the img on your phone and replace them with the new ones!
Then you install the original rom or the rom you choose and when it work you'll have to find the best kernel!
If you leave a comment on the tutorial they will help you better!
Anyway you can ask me anything!!
Good Luck!

[HELP HARD BRICK QUALCOMM] Huawei Y6 (SCL-L21) dead

Hello Everyone, my Huawei Y6 (SCL-L21) is dead, it doesn't power up anymore so no fastboot or recovery (I think damaged GPT Table), when I connect it to my pc, I have a qualcomm serial port and phone's led start blinking red...
Let me say that I have the original firmware downloaded some time ago (it's an UPDATE.APP) and looking inside that file I found the original GPT table (and all the others partitions), so I think that nothing is lost!
So I need help restoring the firmware using tools like QPST or any tool that can "rewrite" my original firmware, any advice or help to guide me in this journey?
P.S: Here's some partitions found inside the original GPT table (with a tool that I developed for this "occasion" [sorry for the software name])

Already tried hundreds of times but do not work, that's why I say that it's Hard Bricked, GPT is dead and gone, so every Huawei method will not work (even putting dload folder with UPDATE.APP on an sd card)
