Battery life is rather bad on the s3 but there is lots of development support for the international s3. That's kinda cancels out the battery loss if you have the right configuration. Don't get me wrong, there is better phones but the software is something to look out for also. A lot of the battery drain was because of touch wiz. But running an aosp ROM and its eliminated the battery drain. It is very fragile though. I go nowhere without my case. The s4 comes out soon anyway and it isn't as fragile. Maybe you should wait for that.

S4 is out of equation coz its price is yet unknown. i guess it will be equAl to that of s3.. otherwise i guess HTC one is much better. nd yah..wait for the Motorola X device...

If you want a Samsung devices it is better to go for high end devices such as the Galaxy S3 but if you want a medium or low end devices go for Xperia devices..
Galaxy is far better, then Xperia.the only thing I not like is boot loop in high end galaxy phones wiz s2

hmmmm Xperia T/Tx Dual core krait (cheaper)
Galaxy S3 and Note Quadcore Exynos(hardcore but pricier)
prefer Sony's phones though
The screen display of xperia phone is much crispier rather that galaxy phones

That looks like a chinese clone to me, atleast the resolution looks weird. Gooling the baseband version brings up threads about chinese S3 called FeiTeng.

It looks it, first there is no Android version 4.1.9, second that's not a Samsung baseband version (even custom roms keep the installed baseband) third that's not a TouchWiz or AOSP status bar, it all looks like a fake to me.

Yeah I really wanted to get the nexus, but I am a sucker for big screens. And I think Note2 will kinda survive for the next few months whereas, there will be a new nexus in june for sure. Maybe then I may want to swap my note2 for the nexus.
But thanks guys for the suggestion. I may think it over once again.

I am definitely looking forward to Motorola X and /or Nexus5. Until they come up, Note 2 is the way I would like to. Thanks for your suggestion. I'll keep it in mind.

S2 got most things the s3 has. I would assume the same will happen with s3. Things like screen resolution, 13mp camera, air view, pedometer, barometer etc won't come across due to hardware - these are the reasons you would upgrade. Exactly same as s2

Can you not upgrade your phone to the new Samsung software which is coming with the S4?
