Screenshot the error, because you saying it says "something like that" doesn't really help.

The three "errors" you see (the archive does not contain.. .sig) are not errors as such, you can do a successful stock flash with them present.
The error that's stopping you is the product check, (when it checks the baseband version), try re-downloading the stock ROM here:
https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images#occam
(MD5: 6280b61201f961c6541905eb6bcb7316)
Then in the toolkit select these options: http://puu.sh/2c8Zy and then select the file you just downloaded from https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images#occam
Good luck! :good:
When you attempt to turn off your phone, does it turn back on automatically (In other words you can't turn it off)? I was also stuck at the Google screen with that condition a couple of days ago. I followed the following procedure below, although I couldn't get Google's stock 4.2.2 firmware file to unzip properly (Only one file was unzipped), so I used an older 4.2.1 version and my phone is now working perfectly again. I found the unlocking and rooting procedure on the same forum to be very easy to follow for a newbie like myself as well. Someone may have a less destructive method than this, where you do not lose everything to fix that condition; I didn't care as I just wanted my phone back, and had done very little customization. Now I also have a titanium backup, so I really, really don't care.

Could you explain to me why the 4.2.1 image I found comes with the following when unzipped:
bootloader-mako-makoz10l.img
flash-all.bat
flash-all.sh
flash-base.sh
radio-mako-m9615a-cefwmazm-2.0.1700.33.img
While the 4.2.2 image on Google's Factory Image page only comes with this when unzipped:
occam-jdq39-factory-345dc199
That is how I got into trouble with the locked phone in the first place (And being new to this). Is the file on Googles site wrong, or is there a concept that I am missing? I ran an MD5 and SHA-1 on the file, so I know it was not corrupt.
If you want you can flash 4.2.2 stock with another toolkit different of WugFresh..

The factory images from Google come in TGZ format initially. You unzip that using 7-ZIP and then you're left with the TAR file. You unzip this using 7-ZIP as well and then you'll have the files so you can run the 'flash-all.bat' and it'll flash 4.2.2 in it's entirety. Sounds like the images used in the toolkit aren't the full, original image from Google (or if they are it bypasses a few steps for you)

No, the factory image from Google was a tar file that I unzipped using 7-zip, and it only uncompressed to one file. So, either I went to the wrong web site or Google placed the wrong file there.
Try it yourself. I just did it again....same results:
I went here:
https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images#occamjdq39
Selected the link for "Factory Images "occam" for Nexus 4"
Downloaded "4.2.2 (JDQ39)", unzipped it.....one file.
The other file I mentioned, 4.2.1, was a .tgz file and uncompressed properly to the several files I had shown.
https://dl.google.com/dl/android/aosp/occam-jdq39-factory-345dc199.tgz
As you can see that's a TGZ file
Once that is opened you THEN get the TAR, and inside that are the raw files. The 4.2.1 you showed before was NOT from Google as they are always in the format of TGZ>TAR>Raw files (download any from the Google site and you'll see)

No, I get a tar file when I click on that url with the same results. Now that is very, very strange.
I would like someone to actually try to download the file from the above urls and verify that it is either a .tgz or .tar file. Perhaps my 7-zip program, browser or something else became corrupted on my computer. I will have to try it with my old XP computer and see what happens.

It must be listed as 'TAR' due to your file associations but if you actually look at the file extension you'll see it's TGZ

I already found out why, and a workaround. It works in Firefox 19 (downloads a .tgz file) and not Internet Explorer (downloads a .tar). What is weird is that the files are the same size. This was driving me CRAZY ! I wonder if it was that big update Microsoft recently pushed as a precursor to Internet Explorer 10 being released. Now I have to find out how to fix Explorer 9; actually I am getting fed up with Explorer anyway. It may indeed have to do with how it is recognizing file associations.
I also understand now how I locked up my phone in the first place. Not knowing that there were supposed to be multiple unzipped image files, I performed the following command using the unzipped .tar file:
fastboot flash system occam-jdq39-factory-345dc199
Not good! I think they call that learning the hard way.
I use Chrome so never noticed

DO NOT USE THE NEW METHOD UNTIL I WORK OUT WHERE THE PROBLEM IS. HAD 3 BAD REPORTS *NEW METHOD PLEASE READ* *OLD METHOD IS DOWN THE BOTTOM AND MIGHT BE USEFUL IF NEW METHOD FAILS*
WORKING ON GINGERBREAD AND FROYO
Hello guys. There are other methods of doing this that might seem complicated for new users so I thought I would write this simple, easy and FAST guide to help people that would like to have their correct country CSC file after installing a custom ROM or if they have simply lost the settings. The benefits of this would be to have correct APN settings MMS / Internet etc. also KIES will recognise it as your Country.
Step 1. Make sure phone is rooted and you have disabled your lagfix if you are currently using one.
Visit this thread here and download your CSC folder:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=787163
This link also has examples of how to change CSC but some might not be as confident using these methods which is why I made this guide
Step 2. Unzip your CSC file using winzip, winrar or 7zip <---- recommended. If you don't have one of these they are free so google it
This next part is recommended by me but it is (optional) Take out the bloatware / boot animations
For example I am with Vodafone Australia so I go into the folder I have just unzipped mine is named VAU then into the system folder and I delete the apk folder as I don't need any of the stock vodafone applications. I also delete the media folder as I do not want the Vodafone boot animation
All I am left with is:
CSC folder
CSCFiles.txt
CSCVersion.txt
SW_Configuration.xml
Step 3. Connect your phone to your computer then copy and paste the complete folder over to your sdcard. Open root explorer and go to the folder and long press on it and then click on copy, now you will need to navigate and paste your folder in to this directory: system/csc *NOTE* It might not paste unless you click up the top mount R/W
Step 4. Make sure you have NITRALITY from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1067857 *NOTE* there is a premium app so if you like the app please buy premium and remember to rate and comment. I have mentioned NITRALITY Because the CSCChanger.apk I have attached in this thread is quite outdated but use the old method found at the bottom of this thread ONLY if you experience problems with NITRALITY
Now Open NITRALITY then navigate to tools > Change CSC *should be down the bottom* select the desired folder and install
Your phone will reboot and it might take slightly longer than usual to boot up. You have now applied your country CSC. I hope this helps some people and don't forget all I expect is a thanks.
*****ONLY IF NITRALITY IS NOT WORKING THEN USE THIS METHOD AFTER STEP 3 ------> Download CSCChanger.apk that I have attached in this thread and copy it to your phone then install it with root explorer. Navigate in root explorer back to you sdcard where you have CSCChanger.apk and click on the file and install it. After it has installed it will be in your app draw named Test2 open this app and click on Start the CSC changer, select the folder you have just copied to system/csc then click install then you're done.
With this method you are it is best done as soon as you flash a ROM as it does a partial factory reset to change over *You will lose personal settings such as ringtone selection etc and it also wipes any apps you have installed *AFTER* you flash your ROM *You will not lose any apps that come with your ROM* so don't worry *****
I am not responsible if something goes wrong!
Special thanks:
Bloodrider for his methods and for the CSC Files
Nitr8 for his fantastic ROM and Nitrality tool http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=843019
thanks for the above!
very nice!

Tried this on 2.2.1 unfortunately does not work.
Keeps going back to KOR code. The HUT code is there, I install it but still no go.
Anyone had success on 2.2.1?
Edit: Works now. I had one extra path in the folder structure i.e HUT/HUT/system.
Just erased the first HUT and now have HUT product code. Thanks. Although still can't get MMS to work.
I installed the apk. But at Preconfig step, I have to enter the Sales Code(I suppose). I click on the text box but I don't get the Keyboard). On the text box it is written KOR. If I click on Install button I get the following message: "Must be THREE chars."
I followed the steps you mentioned.

Dont know if this thread will be use to you depends upon what CSC you need .
bdl1969 has put a rom together with CPW, DBT, KOR, XEO and XEU CSCs
Other route would be via the rom kitchen and choose CSC build a rom and flash it .

You don't need the CSCchanger .apk to change the code.
If you have already saved the CSC folder to your phone type in
*#272*imei#* to your keypad (you can get your imei with *#06#)
and from there you will see the available product codes. Choose the one
you want and click install.
What is my 3 letter CSC and how do I get it? The phone tells me:
CSC: I9000OLBJPA
ProductCode: GT-I9000HKDSIN
Singapore, Singtel, 8GB version
Thanks.

When files paste but don't show up in root explorer it usually means you haven't paid for root explorer and are using a dodge copy of it. Be sure to support the dev and get the paid version if so. These are the only 2 things I can think of

Sounds like ftf file is not in the right format, or you put the ftf somewhere other than firmware folder. Heard some people saying that some of the links download a zip file. If it's a zip file rename it ftf, or if you have more than one flash tool saved on your computer, did you accidentally put it and older flash tool/firmware folder?

Root Explorer is the most useful app on my phone, and if you like to play with your phone it is well worth it. However, you can do it for free with adb commands. You need SDK set up on your computer, or use the app terminal emulator. I suggest using terminal emulator, because setting up SDK TOOLS can be pretty involved if you've never done anything like this before. For the correct commands, check My_immortal's guide to making dualtouch work on stock apps in the development section. It's in the middle of the thread somewhere. My advice, if time is money to you, spend the 2 bucks on Root Explorer and support the developers. You'll use it all the time with a rooted phone.

You can also use it to uninstall system apps that you don't use but are eating up all your RAM and space, like Timescape, SE sync, SE backup & restore. Chinese keyboard, moxier, play now. Another useful app you should get is titanium backup (free version in the market). Then get xRecovery and enable JIT, and watch your X10 fly. There are all kinds of things you can do now that you're rooted. Search xda Xperia forum for guides for noobs.

- Download the apk, rename it to xRecovery-0.2-release.ZIP
- Unpack the file, find ./res/raw folder inside. It should contain 3 files (chargemon, busybox, xrecovery.tar)
- copy these 3 files into /system/bin using root explorer (remember to remount /system rw
Notes:
Please bear in mind that it's not the regular android recovery (we cannot replace recovery image without cracked bootloader). Instead, the boot hijacking is used to start recovery mode. You still need basic files on your /system partition to use this. NEVER use the "format /system" option alone (without flashing another system image thereafter).
This recovery is NOT compatibile with Dual Booting for custom roms (for now you can't have both).
This recovery WILL be used to flash custom roms easily.
DO NOT reinstall busybox. Recovery depends on it's particular busybox version.
Requirements:
1. Phone must be rooted
2. Busybox from the market installed
Changelog:
0.2-release: fixed installation issues for those with trashed mtd0 partition
0.1-release: xRecovery installer app - thanks zoz33!
0.0.1-beta: Initial release (for testers)
Download:

No offense to XperiaX10iUser because he is basically one of the Godfathers of xda Xperia forum, but the xRecovery explanation he sited may sound Greek or scare off a noob. It did for me, however I've learned that you don't have to understand everything first in order to use it. I think of it like this... xRecovery is a noobs best friend, that will allow you to do most of the cool things on xda, and enabling JIT is your X10's best friend. Basically xRecovery allows you to select from a menu a lot of the things you used to need your computer and a lot of know-how to do. It's a lot like a drop down menu you use on Windows. Click on the option and it does the work for you. No need to know everything it does, as each time you use it you will learn more about it.
I don't technically understand JIT, but enabling JIT in simple terms does something with how you phone uses your sdcard and RAM. It speeds up the visual component, so the screen reacts smoothly. For one thing, when you scroll through your app tray it does not tick or lag.
I'm on my phone so I can't provide a link.
You can also improve performance and battery life by using root explorer or titanium backup to uninstall unused or heavy resource using system apps. I have removed Timescape, Play Now, SE sync, SE backup & restore, moxier mall, Chinese & Korean keyboards, PC Companion, Social Networking Service, Face Recognition, and more. Timescape is the big one if you are not using it. Search this forum for a full list of safe apps to remove.

Seems like a nice little tool for tweaking ROMs a bit. Hopefully you can add more features in the future, but even as it is, it should be handy for anyone who wants to tweak ROMs a little bit. By my understanding, it should allow the removal of preinstalled rubbish from stock ROMs, right?
I see you are using Ionic.Zip.dll the same one I used in Droid Manager for creating Custom Roms Too
But you have an issue bro
1- Make My Rom button doesn't work on the first run, I had to close and reopen the program.
2- the result zipped ROM will fail to flash in CWM & is twice in size than the original ROM
why it will fail, because if you open the result zipped file you will find a folder that has the project's title and the ROM files are inside that folder.
while CWM checks for META-INF folder on the root directory of the zipped ROM.
The reason why it's twice in size than the original ROM is because after the program unzips the base rom it doesn't delete it from workspace which causing "Ionic.Zip.dll" to include it in the result zipped rom making it twice in size than the original ROM.
Also please note that adding a data folder in the project will not lead into having anything inside /data/app after the rom is flashed because the updater-script must be modified to include the commands which tell CWM to: A- Mount Data Partition. B- Extract contents of data folder in the zipped file to Data Partition on the phone.
Also it would be better if your program doesn't fully remove the files from the hard disk, rather than just moving them to Recycle bin it's safer, since they can be retrieved
I'm sorry for that comment but I thought I would give you a quick feedback since it's the main step in making a better program
Good luck

Thanks a bunch for your suggestions. Wow...I just learned my lesson of why I should never leave catch statemetns empty lol. And I didn't know that about the data/app folder thing. I went back and added some code to add lines to the setup-script though I haven't tested it yet, so I'll see if that works. Haha, but thanks again for helping me catch those bugs, lol tell me if you find anymore.

hi
i m in 14?4.A.0.108 second edition on z1 compact and root and cwm and xposed instaled
j ever do my update with ota but at this time after update my phone says " could not verified" and the new firmware 14.4.A.0.157 is not installed
my bootlooder is locked and j didnt understant what is the propleme !!!!!
can you please help
thank you
You need to go back to stock before the OTA will install.. That means no xposed and any apps that you've uninstalled that came with the ROM need to be installed again..
A factory reset could do it, but if you do that then you will lose all your user data.. So make backups of everything you want to save before you do that.
If that doesn't work then you'll have to completely reflash the stock ROM, then try to download the OTA.. But that would be senseless as you'd be saving yourself time and downloads by just flashing the updated stock ROM
did you deodexed your rom? i have xposed, SU, recovery installed, but got no problem update to 157 via OTA...
I had the same problem, just install the new update via PC companion, you won't loose any data. One thing you'll loose is root

I recently had drama of a similar nature - used PC companion successfully as a workaround.
If is here someone, who still has this problem, look into /cache/recovery/fota/ and open "report" file. If you are not able to open this - it ends with error, just copy it into internal storage or SD Card.
First of all, you need to find a lines which looks like this:

The important part is rb_file_open[4]. If this line ends with "could not stat file" or someting like this, you need to download this zip https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-79RLdvfasJMV9ZM2dfVEZtRnM/view?usp=sharing and copy/paste the missing file into your system. Don't forget to change permissions RW+R+R
If this won't help, you probably also have installed 4k mod and your "report" file looks exactly the same like the what I post above.
So, if yes, than download this zip https://mega.co.nz/#!QZYkGZZR!BL9dkTpPzPcClEz8our776jpXpia827mYEd5lCM3OvI and replace all files in your system with the files in this zip. Again, don't forget to change permissions RW+R+R and reboot your phone.
Now you should be able to update your phone with/over OTA. Thanks pcpepik from xperia.cz
Thanks play3man.
just by going through your post i was directed in the right way for resolve this issue. Though i did not follow the exact steps that you mentioned, but, the "rb_file_open[4]" really helped. Here is what i did:
1. Using ES File Explorer i navigated to /cache/recovery/fota/ and opened "report" file
2. Went all the way down (actually somewhere almost 3/4th down) and located the line rb_file_open[4]
3. This line actually said it is trying to open the Build.Prop file and mentions the size of that file in the end of that line.
4. I suddenly remembered that i had edited my Build.Prop file a few weeks back for some testing (ro.ril.enable.dtm=1) Like i said i was doing some testing. Though this setting does not work with my Mobile Service Provider (Airtel) here in India for 2G Networks. But I had kept the setting as it is and never bothered reverting it.
5. So what i did was, edited my build.prop file again and reverted that setting by deleting this line which i had added a few days back.
6. Rebooted my phone
7. Downloaded the OTA again, and tried installing it.
8. And it was a great success . LOL It Worked!!!!
So basically, this error, "Could not verify", could also simply mean that the System files are missing/corrupt or as simple as modified by the user and hence the verification could not complete. So people who have their Build.Prop file modified by one means or other (Manually, Scripted, or by Xposed) You may face this issue and may want to try this method and then make all those settings in build.prop file after installing the update. You could also temporarily revert the old build.prop file which you may have backed up somewhere before modifying it.
Hope this helps!!!

You have deodexed rom, so the phone is probably missing way more original files, so that's why it ends already on second line

I have the same error on a stock Z1C, only rooted. I think if we could get the file from somewhere we could drop it on and the OTA would complete, and we'd probably keep root ?
Thank you for the /cache/recovery/fota/report trick. It seems my phone was missing /system/app/SonyEntrance.odex and .apk - I am not sure how this happened or what those files are for.
Edit: Seems it's because I removed 'What's New' :cyclops:
I have seen a lot of questions and issues with successfully building LeeDroid Rom using SVN. Here is a short guide for building and syncing using Tortoise SVN and zipping up a flashable zip with WinRAR on Win 10. This should work equally well on any other Win version. Mac users are on their own. This guide will aim to get you started, it is by no means comprehensive. Follow the guide carefully. It will take a few hours to complete it the first time through, mostly because of the time it takes for an initial sync, but the following syncs and builds should only take about five minutes from sync to flashable zip.
1. Download the latest TortoiseSVN and install it - I encourage you to read the website when you have the opportunity, especially reading the PDF for your language in the Support/Docs section.
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
2. Create a folder for syncing to. I create a folder in the root of my C: drive and just name it "LeeBuilds". Feel free to name it how you please. Inside the LeeBuilds folder, create two folders. One for syncing to and one for output. So I made two folders, "Sync" and "Output".
3. Go to the LeeDroid website and select your device. In this case the U11, so click on U11.
4. After clicking on U11, a pop-up window will appear with an SVN address. Highlight the URL and right-click to copy it. DO NOT include the "[email protected]:~$" portion, only the part beginning with "svn..." and ending with "...trunk". *Remember to check the URL closely after copying to TortoiseSVN to be sure you sync the correct device*
5. Go back to the sync folder you created and right click on it and hit "SVN Checkout".
Since you copied the SVN URL from the LeeDroid site, the URL to sync with will be automatically populated. *BE SURE to closely double check the URL and make sure it points to the U11. You don't want to sync for the wrong device!* Simply tap ok and you will begin to sync. You can always go back to the Leedroid site to copy the URL again if needed. Again, be sure to not include the "[email protected]:~$" portion. Depending on internet speed, an initial sync can take 15 minutes to a couple hours to complete.
----a standard SVN sync in progress window looks like this
6. After syncing is complete, you will see the LeeDroid rom version number you are synced to.
7. You can now close the SVN sync window and right-click on the Sync folder again. Move the cursor over "Tortoise SVN" and click on "Export".
-----There are hidden files and folders in your sync folder. You MUST use the "Export" function to include only files and folders needed for making a flashable zip.
8. Select your Output folder to export to and tap "Select Folder". Your export will begin.
9. After the export finishes, you're done with the syncing part! Download and install the latest WinRAR.
10. Go to your output folder and select all the files including the boot.img in the folder, right-click on your selection, move the cursor to WinRar and select "add to archive".
11. In the pop-up, be sure to hit the "zip" radio button and rename your zip to whatever you like and then hit "ok".
You're finished! Transfer the zip to your phone and flash in recovery like normal. For following updates, right-click the sync folder and an "SVN update" option will appear in the context menu. Click the update button, delete the files that were in your output folder, export to the output folder and then zip and flash. You can always refer to the steps above if you encounter an error somewhere or need to start over. Hope this helps.
Thank you for the guidance! It's very detailed and easy to use!

I have seen that before. Sometimes, maybe one in twenty, the connection with the server will time out for whatever reason. What I'd do is just delete your sync folder to make sure it's clean, make a new one and try another sync. You should get a good sync. It CAN depend on your internet connection too.

Uhoh, I was afraid of that. Yeap, you need to CLOSELY check the SVN URL as I say in the guide. I saw the same thing yesterday when I went to copy/paste the URL. It seems for whatever reason it wants to default to the 10. I actually let Lee know about it. I added to check the URL in the guide after I discovered that. Easy fix though, you can just change the "10" in the URL to "11" and you'll be just fine. :good:

Ok, to clinch it all I heard from THE MAN. Either copy/paste and make sure it looks like it does in the pic, or just type it out in the URL field. Any strange characters you might see are PHP used for the cursor animation. Soooo, lol just follow the guide and check the URL when you come to that part. Simple solution.

No worries, I'm probably not explaining properly.
I copied "http://www.renovate-ice.com/svn/leedroid-11/trunk"
And it worked great for me.
Looking at the error line in his pic it's :
http://www.renovate-ice.com/svn/leedroid-11/trunk/|.
It appears to be looking for /%7c in the url and not being correct it throws the error.
Like I mentioned it sounds like the url copy got messed up some how for him.

Ahhh, gotcha. Yeap, should end with the "trunk". Maybe I should add that in the guide. Thanks for the catch.
Edit: fixed on #4 in the guide. :good:
for what do I need the output folder for? if I export, then exactly the same files are included as in the sync folder.
and the data folder is not available for me.

There's hidden files and folders in the Sync folder. If you zip up from there you'll likely not have a bootable rom...or it'll be borked. So, that's the propose for the second folder. Not sure what you mean about the data folder though.

I have activated hidden files & folders in explorer. You are right, here is the comparison. But I have always packed the files from my one sync folder. If I do not pack the hidden folder .svn, it is exactly the same data. The ROMs have always worked. But I am doing it now according to your instructions. And I meant the folder from your screenshot that you named data, seen in step 11. I do not have it.

Lol, honestly don't know where it came from. I just checked my SVN folders for the 10 and the 11, I don't have it either. Some little buggers to fix up in the pics.
FYI, I figured out that if you copy/paste the URL's from Lee's site to SVN, the URL's are backwards, meaning that if you copy the 11 link, it'll paste the 10 URL into Tortoise and vice-versa. Soooo, statement still stands. Double-check your pasted URL when you do your init sync. If the URL says "10" simply chance it to "11" or whatever you desire and all's good. :good:
