...that has AT&T service? I'm very interested in changing my iPhone for a N4 but have read not so positive reviews of AT&T network on this device. Can anyone living and using the N4 in Puerto Rico (west coast if possible) help me out?
Big Thanks.

I wish I could. Best I can do is tell you I had a good experience with it and T-Mobile prepaid. I stayed in Salinas with family, but traveled to San Juan, Ponce, Fajardo, Bayamon, Guayama and everywhere in between. Perhaps T-Mobile would be a better fit network wise if you are looking to get a Nexus 4.

Thanks man but actually TMobile's service where I live is horrible and AT&T service is excellent (plus we have island wide LTE). I might still pull the trigger on this device but now I'm on the fence. Thanks again.
I'm from yauco Puerto Rico using my nexus 4 with net 10
Running with att towers the signal is great and the data speeds from 3 to 7 meg download and 1.5 to 2 upload,
But net 10 have a data cap of 1.5 gig

Ok. Thanks. Basically the same speeds that I had with my Galaxy Nexus. Do you have a 3G or HSPA+ plan?

Yes. I've tested multiple times today. I've also tested it in various parts of the city the last few days. It's always above 10mbps. Most of the time it's above 15.
Edit: More results after mine that's even faster. Nice work T-mobile.
Wow. Mine sucks.

Us Sprint folks are too embarrassed to post on this thread. Unless you want my WiFi speed that is
I got from the low 13Mbps to 28Mbps inside my house. This must be the thing of future for Internet connection... not very consistent at all. At least when I used my Captivate with HSPA+, I consistently got 2Mbps
This is actually a usefull thread I'll be getting my GS3 tomorrow but on my one s get from 8-16 mbps leaving sprint till LTE comes alive and hopefully is good in Las Vegas

I live in Portland, and my Nexus 4 phones are on the way. I will be using Straight Talk (AT&T mvno). Would have gone the T-Mobile route, but for some reason, speeds really suck on the northside of the Harbor Bridge! I am hoping for HSPA 21 type speeds, but we will see!

Awesome! Never really got a chance to use Straight Talk or T-Mobile near the downtown area I got pretty good speeds on my Galaxy Nexus when I was using Straight Talk. I live on the Southside and my speeds are great using T-Mobile, I get decent speeds at school though. (Carroll High School).
Anyways, glad to see a local with a Nexus 4!

Hi, I hope you're well.
Please allow me to ask my stupid question of the day.
I am a T-Mobile post-paid customer on contract, and I am using a LG Nexus 4. T-Mobile will likely start having LTE soon, so I was wondering if that will affect the Nexus 4 in any way, positively or negatively (probably not negatively, but as I stated, this is a stupid question).
Thanks!
Vic
probably not. lte capabilities were disabled in the .48 baseband which came with the 4.2.2 update.
Hard to say, as the Nexus 4 does not "officially" have LTE. Google disabled the limited LTE connectivity in the 4.2.2 update as the N4 was not approved by the FCC for LTE.
Unless Google refiles, I wouldn't expect any official LTE updates.
But, that doesn't mean you can't try out the older radios (that still have LTE) as some people have had success using them (no sensor issues or voice/sound issues).
Thanks for the replies!
I'm aware of the LTE capabilities being disabled by Google. Even if I use the older radios, will the LTE speed be significantly faster than the default HSPA+ speeds I've been experiencing?
Thanks!

yes..
My N4 is being returned, but I did get 16mbit down yesterday on HSPA+, which is amazing to me considering my home caps out at like 12 I think. Frankly, considering the marginal real-world gain you would see on LTE, I think the phone is probably better off not using that LTE antenna.

Not necessarily if you were me and getting 29mbps down and 9 up on H+ then you really wouldn't tell too much of a difference esp since we don't have All the necessary components for complete lte

You have to use the new apn, "Fast.T-Mobile.com" and change ipv4 to ipv4/ipv6. But the rest of the apn is the same as epc.tmobile.com.

42 is the theoretical throughput, once you account for real world inefficiencies and data reserved for network services, 22 is a fantastic result.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
It really depends your area, on average lte will be faster especially upload. In most major cities LTE will probably smoke HSPA. The most I ever hit with HSPA was 18down 2up and lte was 56down 35 up in Toronto.
HSPA is no slouch though, just the upload is rough. If you upload a lot LTE is a must.

LTE pings are usually low. so stuff pops up faster on the phone compared to hspa+. You would not see much difference when downloading something because the down speeds aren't too different. As far as picture uploads are concerned, they will happen much faster w/ LTE.

Bye Bye to good battery life! Its probably a weak/semi-weak LTE signal considering its Kentucky and your phone will be giving more battery power to connect to it.
Cheers.

Yeah I know. Surprising that where I live Tmobile gets service, while ATT doesn't.
That's awesome! I'm with solavei and I can't wait u til T-Mobile let's the smaller companies use LTE. But I'm it complaining much. It's mid here in jersey and I'm about to pull 15Mbps down and 2 up on hspa+. But Lte wouldn't hurt. And for those that are getting better signal with Lte. I think I read an article stating that the coverage will be superior than that of hspa+ even though frequencies are the same. Idk the validity on that though.

I guess Verizon updated the towers here in West Hollywood near Beverly Hills.
The stupid thing is that the speeds are useless for YouTube because I can't play an HD video without it pausing. We're already feeling the effects of the death of net neutrality.
To prove that I connected to my friend's Wifi and it loaded and fully buffered in less than a second. So, it's useless having those 4G speeds.
