hy all. My question is simple. I have upgradated my OMNIA 7 to 7.8 with seveneight metod. All work correctly but Now I would install in it a custom ROM due better facilities (clock on start screen, control panel ecc) (Vanilla or others), must I follow the custom ROM's guide starting directly from 7.8 or I must downgrade the phone at previus 7.5? and in this case how can do that?.
Thanks.
Custom Rom
Hi,
as for using a custom rom you have to completely flash your device it doesn't matter what state of image you actually have on your device.
After flashing the custom rom you have to install all your apps again via Marketplace or Windows Phone website.

Hello i recently got a zte blade from my provider (tmn in portugal) here they call it a5 i already installed two diferent froyo roms but i lose the camera and everytime the device goes to sleep thouchscreen just stops responding, i'm guessing its a drivers issue, is there any way to add my stock rom camera and thouchscreen drivers to a froyo custom rom ?
Thx in advance
no, it is kernel based. wait for the Japanese froyo dump.
another reminder, wrong thread. please keep to forum rules
can't he just use the stock kernel instead of the one from the custom rom?
Hi
im new to android ..
i own a ideos u8150.........and i have rooted it with z4 root
I also have managed to install clock world mod 3.0.2.4 i flashed it through pc (works perfectly)
now i want to change my stock rom ..i' heard ideos HD and droniX are good roms
i'd like to install droniX 0.6 raw ginger ..
but can anyone help me in flashing the rom i need a guide..
also how can i make full backups so i can revert to my stock rom anytime i want..
Does switching to custom roms affect baseband of my mobile ..
because of a picture i saw in a blog that says "baseband version :unknown" in mobile settings .
i have been a apple user and to jailbreak you need to preserve your basebands so is there anything like that in android
i have also read that after flashing dorinX .6 many see a black screen ..how can i prevent that..
i've also installed rom mangaer free version from market but its useless because everytime press any option it tells me to install colckworld mod and when i press install a list of phones comes up but u8150 is not in the list only 7 options.......
Thankyou
You won't get much love here as this is in the wrong forum, but here is a link to my rom:

You dont need to use my rom, it just has flashing instructions in the first post.
*Good luck with ginger, it is still not stable, so maybe stick with 0.5.4.
*Baseband is not changed by flashing roms in CWM, only by official huawei update software, find a copy of yours before flashing if you can.
*CWM has the option to make a NAND backup under backup and restore.
*Dronix is good, Leandroidmod is ok, Ideos HD seems to be deprecated as I had bugs which I reported and have not been fixed so I switched roms. Has not had an update in months.
Here is the wiki page for u8150, have fun:

OK so I'm giving my Omnia 7 to a friend who needs a phone, but before I did I wanted to update to 7.8. Since that's unlikely to happen soon enough I'm looking to install a custom rom. Now it's been ages since I flashed my Omnia 7, and I've never installed a custom rom, so the questions I have are as follows:
1. I'm running the latest Omnia 7 updates, do I need to revert to an earlier rom?
2. Once I've reverted, do I have to install other things onto the phone before flashing the custom rom?
3. Is there like a single thread to follow these steps or do I have to piece together different posts to figure this out?
1. No, you don't need to install a previous ROM.
2. Yes,for install a custom rom your Omnia 7 must have MAGLDR (custom bootloader) thanks to DFT Team and Cotulla:

3. Here step by step flash guide (for install MAGLDR and any custom ROMs that you want) thanks to mirolg:

Hello,
I have a unlocked Huawei P8 GRA-L09 B390, and i would like to install the custom rom Gratitude by Tecalote, and I have some question :
- Should I install the custom rom, or should I wait an update (because the custom rom is based on firmware b366, and that would be a 'downgrade')
- If the custom rom based on B390 will be out, is that easy to update it. Can I do it immediately or should I unroot first then update ?
- I'm a player of Pokemon Go, can I still play it with the Magisk Edition ?
- What's the main difference between simple root my P8 and install the custom rom ?
Thanks in advance.
I'm not sure if I understand all your questions.
I'll try to help:
- If you install your custom rom it will be a downgrade, but it's possible, that it doesn't matter, because of many differences (as I hope)
- For the update to a new version of the rom, I can't help right now. The safest way to update would be to make a full wipe, so you get sure, that everything is okey and nothing is disturbing, but with some Roms it works also to just wipe the Cache and to flash the new Zip-file - read the instructions, for more safety make a full wipe, but you won't have to unroot
- If you install a Rom, you will have a new operating system, with a new user-interface etc. Perhaps you get more updates, perhaps less (depends on the developer of the Rom, this is not Huawei) - the system could work better or worser. With simple root you can use apps that need root-access (there are a lot).
For the Pokemon go apps I can't help
Could I help in general?
Hello,
I have a GT-I9505 with an untouched Android 5.0.1 and I want to use a Custom ROM. Questions:
1. Which ROM is currently the best one available?
2. Can Anyone provide me a foolproof instructions / order of installing everything?
Thanks in advance
There are many tutorials on XDA on flashing a custom rom, it`s easy once you know how. YouTube also has some great vid`s to watch step by step.
My advice is 1st install a custom recovery like TWRP, concentrate on that first, you will need to download Odin software to flash TWRP to your phone, after that it`s as simple as downloading a zip rom to your sd card and flashing to your phone through TWRP recovery.
ALWAYS BACKUP your current working setup and read the entire rom description as SOME may have a few functions not working.
So far I have flashed about 5 diffrent rom`s to my i9505, all of which have been great, im currently using - [JDCTeam] Aosp Extended Pie Release 2.91 [9.0.0_r21] [unofficial] - with no problems.
