Stock AOSP browser.. - Droid RAZR M Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My RAZR M came with only chrome installed for a browser and I missed the stock one. I found this thread here and used Total Commander to install it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1780746&nocache=1
Awesome full screen again w/o all the hassle of Dolphin or Maxthon etc.... Flash?

You might need a Webkit browser like Naked Browser to run Flash content. I believe Firefox also runs Flash. I don't have the stock AOSP browser but isn't it Webkit? If so, it should support flash.

Firefox runs flash and so does an older version of Dolphin (8.5.1 is what I'm running). Not sure about the others.

I just tried to copy the browser.apk into system/app on my razr hd and fix permissions. Do I have to copy over the other apks as well, also I'm on a deodexed rom, so I'm not sure if this version will work there.

Downloading .zip files from the browser

Why can we not download .zip files on the new gingerbread leak? I want to try the new themes put out but having to always do it from a computer is quite tedious
Have you tried using a different browser such as dolphin or skyfire?
No I'm using the stock browser I don't really care for the alternates, I was able to do it on froyo. I flashed a lot of themes that way while I was at work
I just downloaded the TBH tether zip using the stock browser on rooted gb. Works fine for me.

hmmm that's weird then because I'm trying to download the gingercomb theme from media fire and it always says download unsuccessful, maybe it's just my browser

Can I get Flash working?

Hi all,
As per the thread title, is there any known way to get flash working with any browser on the Nexus 7?
You can install a separate APK from online, as in the Play Store flash is listed as incompatible. It should work fairly well with most browsers, however Chrome does not support Flash at all.

So how is web browsing on the 7? Any lag in browsing or typing ...loading pages..etc?

Browsing with Chrome is super smooth. There was some noticeable lag at first, but after the OTA update, everything ran a lot smoother, and haven't noticed any lag since. Typing is just as smooth too. For some graphic-intensive pages, the whole site doesn't show-up while you're scrolling until you stop scrolling, but it's a very minor issue.
Browsing is really nice in Chrome. Better than Dolphin HD in fact. I'd like to know how to get flash to install though to use with Dolphin HD. I have Flash 11 .apk but it will not install and noting else is showing up in GP. Anyone?

I'm having the same problem. I heard that is has to do with the OTA update messing with the ability to install Flash. Other APK's installed fine, so I can't think of why else.
i installed flash player from an APK & it works for me.
you can download the apk from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28734102&postcount=5
if its not working then use TiBU to restore it.

Well, right now I'm not rooted, and it's just popping up an alert saying "Can't open file", which is what the other APK I downloaded said. Have you done the OTA update?

Thanks, i haven't actually got my tablet shipped yet but just wondering for when it does come. Can't believe adobe killed off flash since most of websites websites require flash. Html5 is at least 2, 3 years away

It's pretty much dead for every system but windows anyway. Linux flash support has always been crap and they gave up on that too.
I thought it was bad when they didn't support PPC Linux. For being an internet standard they surely are limited.

Just wondering of there is a mirror for this file,

Can the jellybean do that or no flash support
Thanks
Jellybean doesn't support flaah. But, you can sideload the flash apk. then use it with opera mobile, dolphin hd, or the original stock browser from ics(this works best with flaah) plenty of threads here on it and where to get flash file and the browser from ics. just look here in qna and general section.
Flash also works with the latest Firefox beta.

Its easy to add flash to any ROM. Firefox beta and boat browser work well, AOSP browser too. I had good luck with the motley m+ kernel as well, got rid of the glitches I had in flash videos. Works great on stock too.

Agreed, but you won't solve this like you want to.
Googles browsers either don't support flash, or the ones that do, don't sync bookmarks. This wont be fixed by a ROM.

the only thing annoys me is the stability. but since it is only a tablet, not a phone, it is not a big bug.

Adobe Flash on Note3 !!!

Grrrrrrr! Videos on stock browser are not working. That is very bad!!! I was reading about it previously but I hoped that it is not so serious. I do not want to use other browser. I like Chrome Beta but I use it only few times because of no flash support. I want flash in stock browser! Any idea?

Uh.. Flash hasn't worked on stock browsers for a while now. Try next Browser.
Make sure to have the flash apk installed too.
download flash player.
http://download.macromedia.com/pub/...roid/11.1.115.81/install_flash_player_ics.apk
install Firefox browser, done.
install flash
http://download.macromedia.com/pub/...roid/11.1.115.81/install_flash_player_ics.apk
I use Boat browser and you can click the downward-facing arrow when Flash is needed. You can sideload the Adobe Flash for Android 4.0 APK, which is currently at Flash Player 11.1 for Android 4.0 (11.1.115.81), at http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html

So annoying that they stop supporting one standard before the new one is fully implemented. Leaving a crippled experience

This is one thing I miss with my HTC One and LG G2.
Full flash support with their Stock Browser, on the G2 I just had to install the latest flash apk and it works perfect. The HTC One worked with flash out of the box fully supported. I don't understand why Samsung chose to ditch it altogether, at least give us the option right?
I know we can use Dolphin or Boat, but in my experience they never offered a smooth flash experience like the stock browsers.
IMHO Firefox has the best flash experience. Honestly that's the only reason I keep it installed. For regular web surfing I use dolphin tho.

Flash support was deprecated on android versions later to 4.0; so no stock browser will bring you flash no matter if you installed the flash apk for ics.
Now only updated browsers that support flash are Firefox and Next browser; Dolphin browser also deprecated flash support on newer versions.
I tried to install Flash player on note 3 and used next browser, dolphin and boat browser but every time I watch a flash video all browsers crash
