Ok, I have a micro HDMI to VGA active adapter cable. I get the image on the monitor ok. It's a little off center, but I think I can adjust that on the monitor. The problem is, it's still transmitting in the 16:9 aspect ratio and my monitor isn't adapting it to letter box so the image is displayed out of proportion.
Anyone know if there is any way to get it to output the image in the correct 4:3 aspect ratio? Either with a center and crop or letterbox image?
Thanks in advance for your help.

is there anyway to output via s video or composite, full screen. I know the ameo only has a 640 480 resolution. but I would really like to view full screen. any ideas.
Is there anyway to make it work????
I select "VGA" and turn it on, but nothing. No Picture. Monitor wont show a thing.
Any suggestions? (and yes, the cable that came with Ameo is plugged in )
I hooked up my Transformer to my LCD TV. The TV is full 1080p.
I noticed that a sizable area around the edge of the display is clipped off. For example I cannot see the status bar on the TV, but it is still there on the transformer screen as well.
I was wondering is anyone else having this problem? or even better a solution?
Thanks
It does this because the display on the transformer is 1280x800, so it cuts the display down to 1280x720 (720P). This way it displays full screen on the tv what your trying to watch.
Is there anyway to have the transformer output to 1280x800? I also do not like how the output appears zoomed.

first check so the TV shows 1:1 pixel ratio/full pixel and not "normal". My TV cuts of the hdmi signal somewhat, even with computers attached, call it overscan if you like, unless i choose "full pixel" (sonys name for it).
So try hunting in your settings on the TV. When i tried on my TV i didnt loose anything but the statusbar is not shown on tv, i guess thats not realy important as it is the video/app you want to see and they are not aware of the statusbar anyway.
Great!! Thanks a couple of things to try.
hmmm
I thought that hiding the bar was a feature!
I have this issue also. It not only cuts off the bottom bar but both sides are croped a little. I have tried the HDMI out on 3 different TV's and they all show the same croped effect. This is weird to me because my laptop displays 720p or 1080p perfectly on the same TV's Is there a fix for this?
Thanks
Using my Acer A500 whenever I connect it using the Micro HDMI it does appear on the screen but it seems to have part of the screen cut off. The status bar on the bottom of the screen and then about the same space on the top and sides.
Is there anything you can get for a root ICS tablet to change the output?
Could it be the cable I am using a 10ft cable?
Or this just what it looks like does the whole screen just never fit.
The TV is a 37 inch HD ready Beko
It outputs at 720p. Does your TV support that resolution?? I have had none of the problems your describing while using the HDMI out.

It does support it as my Xbox output is 720p and when the tablet is connected it says on the tv its output is 720P 60HZ.
any other ideas?
I have the same issue butnot with my TV. My TV will show the entire screen but when I plug into a projector it cuts off part of the screen. I would not think the HDMI out is device dependent but it is certainly looking like it.
Not sure if you checked this, but this happened to me yesterday. What had happened was that the zooming on the TV was causing the problem. It was on 16:9, and cut off some parts. Went through the zooming options until I found one that showed the entire screen (can't remember what it was called).

on a,LG,phillips its original zise a samsung: full screen
Im having the same issue as well, 37" Panasonic LCD. Its fully capable of 1080p as well as 720. I remember connecting my motorola atrix and droid bionic to the TV and both those phones have an HDMI setting --> Overscan setting that you adjust using a slider. With those 2 phones however they problem wasn't the screen getting cut off, it was too small, and adjusting the overscan as high as it could go made the output from the phone fit the tv PERFECTLY.
In our instance, we would need that same overscan slider, and to turn it down. BTW: that setting on the phone was set in the middle by default (say at 50%), so the phone would need it adjusted to 100%, where as our tablet would need it at 0 or near zero...
Hi, I just bought the Samsung HDTV Adapter. The main reason I bought it is that I could see what the camera is watching while taking the photo or video. However, whenever I activate any camera app, there is a message on my Note's screen that "HDMI not available while application is running..."
Anybody knows the reason and how to fix it? Also, for unknown reason, approximately top 5% and bottom 5% of my Note's screen are not being displayed on my HDTV.For example, on the home screen, the top half of the time is not displayed.
For the second part - the Note's screen resolution is 1280x800 (16:10) which is a bit more than the usual 1280x720 mode (16:9) in HDTV. Your TV may have automatic adaptation of the picture turned on and is trying to fit the picture by cutting here and there.
I've yet to try using camera with the mhl adapter. Maybe later today.
...
OK, I've tried - same result as yours.
I am plugging my N10 into a 1080p tv using the micro to hdmi cable - anyone know if it's possible to get rid of the black borders on the left and right of the screen or to change the output resolution on the N10 to 1080p?
Cheers!

The thin stripes on the left and right only? That's cause your TV is 16:9 but the Nexus 10 is 16:10, the 1080p equivalent of it is 1728*1080.
Is it possible to hide the soft keys on the tv? So only everything above the soft keys is shown, which is 16:9.

Ah yes it is, but most current TV's are 16:9 also. I agree though, can we hide the soft buttons or re scale the screen to fit?
